Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park is a gem in the heart of Highlands, North Carolina. This beautifully maintained park offers a serene escape from the bustle of the Main Street shops, just a few blocks away. The public restrooms are clean. There are benches and tables at which visitors can sit, including a number of spots in the shade. Parking is mostly in the sun, with only a few shady spaces thanks to small trees. What looks like just a parking lot is actually Pine Street. The park could be quite crowded for scheduled events, but usually there are only people who are taking a little bit of break from the body of tourists, or using the public Wi-Fi for doing some work on their laptops or tablets at one or two shady tables, other people maybe eating lunch, and there may be a family making use of some of the lawn for playtime (but there is no formal playground). No stress!

Awesome town center and gathering spot. Beautiful lawn, clean bathrooms, and a wonderful concert series on Saturday nights during the season. We love to bring a blanket, snacks, and enjoy the show. When it’s hot there is a splash pad for the small children and on Saturday mornings there is a small farmers market.

Very nice, quaint park. It even has an ice skating rink. But best of all at night at Christmas time they have some of the most breathtaking decorations.

Beautiful park, great facilities. We went for the Saturday Market but were very dissapointed in the participation of vendors. I know "it's because of COVID", just be aware that the Saturday Morning Market pics you see on the internet may be a little misleading as they are struggling for vendors at this time. The beauty at the park still made the trip a pleasure.

A fun park to explore while waiting on a table at a nearby restaurant. The trees were all beautifully lit for Christmas.

Went here for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting. There was hot chocolate, glow sticks, ginger bread house making contest, dog costume contest, lots of Christmas Carol sing-a-longs, Santa made a visit on the fire truck, & of course the main event... light up the night with the beautiful Christmas tree & lights! A wonderful family & pet friendly event!
