Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park is a gem in the heart of Highlands, North Carolina. This beautifully maintained park offers a serene escape from the bustle of the Main Street shops, just a few blocks away. The public restrooms are clean. There are benches and tables at which visitors can sit, including a number of spots in the shade. Parking is mostly in the sun, with only a few shady spaces thanks to small trees. What looks like just a parking lot is actually Pine Street. The park could be quite crowded for scheduled events, but usually there are only people who are taking a little bit of break from the body of tourists, or using the public Wi-Fi for doing some work on their laptops or tablets at one or two shady tables, other people maybe eating lunch, and there may be a family making use of some of the lawn for playtime (but there is no formal playground). No stress!
