Gozo Is a Hidden Gem in the Mediterranean, How to Visit
"For a touch of luxury on your Gozo getaway, book a stay at the Kempinski Hotel. Here, guests will find spacious suites, including several with massive patios for enjoying the outdoors, and residential-style apartments, as well as several restaurants and a full-service spa to help you further unwind." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"Why we love it: A wellness-centric resort with a luxury spa for the adults and multiple pools for the kids The Highlights: - An authentic Ayurveda Center for balancing spa treatments - Three outdoor pools, two indoor pools, and a Jacuzzi - Six on-site dining and drinking destinations to please the whole family The Review: Surrounded by more than seven acres of greenery on the small island of Gozo, this wellness-focused resort offers the ultimate escape from larger, busier Malta. The five-star hotel has 140 rooms and suites, multiple indoor and outdoor pools, and six restaurants and bars, though the highlight is most definitely the spa, which comprises one of the largest Ayurvedic centers in the Mediterranean. Here, guests can indulge in a variety of Eastern and Western treatments, take complimentary yoga classes multiple times a week, or simply make use of the facilities, which include two indoor heated pools, a Jacuzzi, relaxation areas, and a steam chamber. Standard and deluxe rooms offer ample space to spread out with seating areas, balconies, and marble bathrooms, while suites take things to the next level with sweeping views of the hillside or pools. If you’re traveling with a group, spring for the two-bedroom family suite, which even includes a kitchenette and dining area. Across all the guestrooms, design is traditional with modern accents, making for a stylish stay."
My daughter fancied a pool day so we came here. It's €50 pp which isn't cheap. I've been before so knew how big it was but very quiet and hardly any guests. The pools are lovely, the sunbeds comfortable and they offer cold towels and fresh fruit to the guests. We had lunch: my daughter a salad and I had a chickpea burger which wasn't great and both quite expensive. She liked her salad. I ordered coffees but they weren't great. I asked for another one to replace mine, but didn't get great service around this. Little things but disappointing at a 5 * hotel, and the service wasn't 5* by the pool. We ate at one of the restaurants in the evening. Beautiful view overlooking the pools and food was very good (I had the vegan curry and my daughter the pork belly) but her cocktail was strange (kir royale but tasted very bitter) so she had to get it changed and service was OK but lacked oomph! In fact the whole day lacked something, so if I'm being honest it was the service which isn't that attentive, warm or friendly and I felt shortchanged.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Kempinski San Lawrence for 2 nights and had a lovely experience. We are Marriott ambassadors so we usually stay at Marriott properties, but due to the unavailability of a Marriott property on Gozo, we elected for the Kempinski. We will certainly stay at more in the future, we had a lovely experience!||For us, the food was a highlight, we ordered room service a few times and especially enjoyed the beef medallions. We found the ingredients to be fresh and all of our special requests accommodated. We ordered once for lunch and twice for dinner and I noticed that perhaps when times are busier the quality may drop a bit. For lunch, the food was sensational and at dinner time just delicious. Really not a problem. I assumed they were understaffed as we saw an employee onboarding in the lobby - glad they’re taking care of it. Breakfast was delicious and although the buffet area is admittedly small, we got our breakfast first thing so overcrowding was not an issue. The selection was large and the staff friendly. ||The service in all areas of the hotel was exceptional and despite not having status, the employees always remembered my boyfriend by name.||With the amenities they offer, being out of the way was certainly not a problem for us but perhaps something to note if you would like to walk around. They offer a shuttle to Victoria and Ramla Bay, though. We booked a boat trip that picked us up near the ferry terminal and it was just a short 20 min drive in either direction. With a small island like Gozo, I find it hard to believe location would be much of an issue for anyone.||House keeping staff was great as well, friendly and efficient and our room was very clean and beautiful due to recent renovations. ||In summary, if I ever return to Malta I would stay again in a heartbeat.

An absolute treat of a Hotel.
The staff was so very careful to ensure we had a wonderful stay.
They made our two little boys feel right at home.
Clean big rooms, will wonderful balconies.
Pools had plenty of chairs and space.
Food in the restaurants was fresh delicious and very reasonably priced.
Parking is included and is shaded, with hotel being quite central to your adventure needs. Nothing was more then a 20 minute drive.
Will come back, I love Gozo and this hotel and people.

We stayed here as a family of three for five nights and had a truly enjoyable experience. The hotel has a calm, family-friendly atmosphere, with good food and a satisfying breakfast selection. Gluten-free and lactose-free options were available, which was a big plus. The buffet area is on the smaller side and can feel a bit crowded during peak times, especially around the toast, pancake, and omelette stations. Expanding this space would make mornings even more comfortable.||The property overall feels tranquil, and the staff—both at the front desk and in the restaurant—were always kind, welcoming, and helpful. Our room had been recently renovated and was very comfortable, with the added convenience of a drinking-water tap in the bathroom. The only area for improvement would be the mattress, as ours was a little too soft for a perfectly restful night.

Definitely worth your hard earned cash! The location is a little remote but well worth it after a busy travelling or exploring the island. All staff are super helpful, can be busy with school holidays so be patient with the staff. We stayed for 4 nights in May 2025 and it was lovely weather most days. As a vegetarian the menu could offer a little more variety. Make time to visit the Spa it is worth it. There is a bus stop not far from the hotel 5 minute walk - the Crafts Village is just by the bus stop and well worth a visit. It will benefit you to have some cash available as the ATM by the crafts village was tricky. However, most vendors have contactless payment available. Do it, go to Gozo!! ||Will 100% be visiting Goza and The Kempinski again. Special mention of 'Thank you' to the Lady in Red - always so kind.

Visited in May 2025 and was definitely worth the ferry over from Valletta, Malta. |A five star experience for sure all staff were kind and amazing. Spa was lovely, cafe offered delicious hot beverages and cakes. |Location is perfect for those looking for peaceful days/evenings after a busy day travelling and exploring. |Room service was prompt and delicious. My only tiny issue was that it would be nice to have more vegetarian options available on the menus. |Location is great, close to the bus stop and the artisan village definitely worth visiting.

We loved this hotel. Pools were amazing. Room was really really nice. Staff and service excellent. Buffet dinner was great (BBQ night) as was the Gazebo restaurant. |Gym and spa good too. |Only room for improvement was that drinks service and lunch at the pool was slow. And the fine dining restaurant tried hard but didn’t quite hit the mark. I don’t want that to detract from the truth though that this is a beautiful and really excellent hotel with great service and incredible facilities. We loved our time here (the kids especially). Thank you Kempinski.

Very beautiful hotel situated in a very quiet area. The rooms overlooking the pools have a lovely view especially during the night. The rooms are spacious and had all toileteries needed. The staff were very helpful and super friendly. ||The hotel had 3 pools outside and 1 indoor pool. The outdoor pools were one for adults, one for families and other for residents in the hotel. ||The breakfast had a wide variety of food to choose from. Had a good selection for kids. The staff would show you around the breakfast area on the first day. ||There is ample parking in the parking area of the hotel. We always found a parking anytime dueing the day and night.||Probably it is the best hotel on the island, one of a kind experience and you would not be disappointed.
