Stayed here with my family for a couple of nights and truly appreciated the peaceful, rural setting right in front of Playa Grande. It’s a simple eco-hotel—don’t expect luxury or fancy amenities, but the bed was comfortable, and the vibe was super relaxing. The real gem of this place is the owner, Alberto. He’s incredibly friendly, always available, and gave us the absolute best recommendations for what to do in the area. His deep knowledge and love for the region made our stay even more special. Alberto is also involved with the local sea turtle rescue organization, which is a huge plus in my book. We were lucky enough to witness baby turtles being released into the ocean—an absolutely magical and moving experience. If you get the chance to see this, definitely consider offering a donation. Every bit helps support this beautiful cause. Also worth mentioning: the breakfast was delicious, and their fruit plate was made with fruit fresh from their own garden. If you’re looking for an authentic, peaceful stay, surrounded by nature, with heart and purpose—you’ll enjoy it here. 💚🐢 Un millón de gracias Alberto! 🙏🏼

We felt very at home at Kenaki Lodge, our stay was very restful after a few long travel days. The owners are very helpful but also leave you to relax and enjoy the peaceful location. Tried a few local places to eat and an easy drive along the beach track without having to go back to the main roads. Would highly recommend for a relaxed stay.

We had a lovely stay here. Alberto and his wife were so kind. We enjoyed breakfast there 2 times for $12 a person. The rooms do not have air conditioning, but the fans provide a good air flow. It is in a lovely location right near the beach.

Alberto y su familia son unos amores. Aloje un cuarto y fue como un sueño despertar con los pajaritos. Un desayuno rico y tradicional. Me quedaria mil veces 💕 Solo lady traveler. I always felt very safe through the entire city of Cahuita and my stay in Kenaki Lodge. Even left my room unlocked and unattended many many times. Beach is right across a small carved path with a tiki setup for shade. Saw lots of crustaceans and birds throughout my stay, and the neighborhood dogs are all very sweet. Alberto assisted me in booking a snorkeling and Cahuita National Park excursion. It was the highlight of my trip and would do it again! Bike/moto rentals available in Cahuita and it’s a walk to get there from the Lodge. I hope you choose Kenaki for your stay in Cahuita 🩵

This is a lovely place, rooms are very clean and nicely appointed. Isabelle, the proprietor, is delightful - friendly, charming, and incredibly helpful. Isabelle serves a delicious breakfast, and there's a communal kitchen for the use of guests. Excellent wifi, close to a beautiful beach, and fans in every room.|If you stay here, though, you either need to have a car or be a hiker. She's 3 kilometers outside of Cahuita on a smallish gravel road. Taxi service is available, but there's no nearby bus stop. No restaurant in the hotel, and the nearest restaurant is about a kilometer away - open for breakfast and dinner only. |If we weren't a couple of 70-somethings, it would have been absolutely wonderful.

You can hear the waves from her private beach. Beach had lot of debris but still useable. Few restaurants on her road for dinner. She was very sweet offers a community kitchen and breakfast was only $11 a person I believe and was very good. Privacy was limited as screens at the top so hope you’re not roomed next to a snorer but we didn’t mind. Point of this place was to met others and we did. Her dogs are very friendly which we were thrilled to see as most around Costa Rica wouldn’t let you pet them. I’m a huge dog person

Simple and clean rooms. Incredible views of the Caribbean (just a few meters from the rooms). Kind and responsive owner. Kitchen available (refrigerator, stove, sink, pots and pans, dishes, utensils) for preparing simple meals. Just a few blocks from everything in Cahuita, including the national park. No website, so just send the owner a WhatsApp message to get the prices. We paid 26,000 CRC ($52 US) per night for a room for 4 people.

The place is amazing! Hosts are very kind and the breakfast was soo delicious. We spend our first 2 of 11 days in Costa Rica and actually we ate the best gallo pinto here made by them. The beach outside is so wild and beautiful that you don’t want to leave… The lodge is made with good taste and is very stylish, but this is normal for french owners. The rooms are clean and everything was just great!
