Really nice park with a variety of rides for all ages. During the month of October they do it big for Halloween and I'd def recommend checking it out. Go on a week day if possible otherwise the lines are long. Tip: If you dont have a season pass its $20 to park in the bottom lots or you can drive past them up to the top of the hill almost hidden is free parking

Love this place!!! Taking grandkids now. Was raining when we went they had to close early, but we all got a rain ticket 🎫 This place is well tuned. All associates were polite, friendly and first class. Bathroom clean, park orderly picnic pavilion wonderful

What a great park! Fun nostalgic rides dating over 100 years old. Lots of fun for the entire family. It was my 7yr old son’s first time riding bigger coasters and he loved it. Great memories that will last forever. Unfortunately the steel curtain is still closed

We came here a few times in the past few years of 21-24 and we had a blast as a family! This park is definitely not a cedar point or kings dominion in terms of thrilling coasters but it sure is fun. The 3 MAJOR big coasters here r phantoms revenge and steel curtain and sky rocket. Those r the 3 big coasters. The other wooden coasters like the racer , jack rabbit or thunderbolt r fun but they r more family coasters then thrill rides. They do have a great kid section and a lot of kids rides. The other fun rides r mostly flat rides and small coasters like the exterminator that’s a cool theme wild mouse ! They also have great security here they have armed security and cops walking around and their presence is definitely known which is nice for a family friendly environment. This park is also super old and historic so that’s another reason theirs not that many thrill coasters here. We will definitely be returning though in the future. The parking lot is weird it’s kinda small and across the street and u gotta walk underground in a tunnel to access the park which is neat. The food is pretty decent as well it’s not all fried stuff like at other chain parks.

I always enjoy going to Kennywood. I am disappointed to see the dress code of team members decline with shirttails hanging out or pulled in a knot in the back to look like it is tucked in. Most employees were not as personable as in years past. Also, paying $4.50 for water is a bit over the top. However, the rides are great and the park is well maintained.

This is a great riding park when the rids are working. There are some rids that you go to a park to ride. You wait in line for a long time you are next in line to ride and it breaks down, they make you leave the area. You waited an hour+ now if it is fixed in 10min. You have to get back in line and wait again. The quality of the food in this park is poor at best. Old stale bread fatty meat. If you have a cup you can get free water. Most of the employees seem to be bothered if you want anything. This was once one of the best parks that i have had the pleasure to visit in the United States. Not sure if i would return if was free to get in the park.

Fewer people since price gone up. No price for hungry kid..Lines long posted wait time. Dogs at gate. Close at 8pm. Need spend more on date for rest of the night till 12. Chicken and fries good have half to a hungry kid hauling. Grateful for a spot for us and families. Science Center Memorial Day Celebration

The Steel Curtain was open. Great ride. It’s more like a giant carnival with better rides than a theme park (not like Disney or universal). If you like roller coasters it’s great.

Yelp
My overall experience at Kennywood was really really good! I went with my friends and their family and we had a blast writing all the roller coasters! The only thing I didn't like is there was this Karen who was screaming at everybody at the security. The service is okay But the rides are amazing!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday for phantom fall fest. We arrived in the afternoon and their free parking lot was pretty far, about a .4 mile walk. When we got to the gate they told us our drawstring bag isn't allowed and neither is our metal water bottle. I don't see how a gun got into the park 2 years ago yet my water bottle is the problem. I read the FAQ and I didn't see anything about water bottles but I could be mistaken. We walked back to our car to drop it off then came back. Then the security guard asked us how old we are to which we responded our age. He said we look too young and we need our ID. I said sure I have my ID. Before I grabbed it he said that it needs to be a physical copy. Like yes, my drivers license is a physical form of identification. I looked at the sign and it said age under 17 needs to be accompanied by someone age 21 so keep that in mind if you want to come this month and bring your ID as well. Already, we were having a bad experience since the security guard was pretty rude. I understand the need to follow rules but the delivery could have been nicer. The waits for rides were pretty short only about 10 minutes per roller coaster, but a lot of rides were closed. Steelers ride has been closed for the year, aero 360, black widow, and the water rides were closed which was pretty disappointing and limited the options to have fun. I love high thrill roller coasters so kennywood was pretty underwhelming besides 1-2 on top of the closures. Since they did not allow me to bring in my water bottle, I needed to buy an extremely expensive bottled water ($6). When I grabbed it and took it to the cashier, they said " just one expensive water?" There wasn't anything wrong with this comment but it infuriated me because it's not like I had another option. If there was a cheaper option for water, I would've grabbed it! The food was very pricey as well: $15 for a hamburger and $15 for a milkshake. At night when phantom fall fest started, there were extremely long lines for all the events like the haunted house and cemetery. The actors did an amazing job and their costumes were high quality which was the only redeeming part of this park.

Yelp
Kennywood is such a unique experience! I wasn't expecting all of the beautiful Christmas lights and the displays really were spectacular. I think the amount of rides open at night during the start of winter makes sense, I just wish there were a few more coasters. Regardless I loved the bumper cars, the baby rides, and the coasters. The food at Kennywood was fine, definitely your standard park food - fries, hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers, etc. but I did learn that there's more local and fresh options scattered throughout the park like stew, burritos and more. Also, there was an entire stand dedicated to fries. Not just a small basket of fries, a huge portion with toppings, big enough for the whole family. Kennywood is awesome and I loved the experience at Christmas time!

Lauren O.

Yelp
We are season pass holders so we do attend the park regularly, this years Holiday Lights festival was beautifully decorated as usual. It seems like more decorations are added every year! We ate at the pizza warehouse which was delicious as usual! Minimal lines, cheerful employees, deals on games. All in all a great evening!

Yelp
Kenny wood is one of the best pen theme parks I love the special theming for phantom fall fest and the food is very good the best ride is the black widow and the turtles I love Kenny wood park very good place for family fun

Yelp
Four of us stopped by Kennywood around 1:30pm on Saturday for their Bites and Pints event and to ride a few rides. There are eight little stalls with 2-3 different small plates each, some beer/wine selections, and a handful of cocktails and each stall had food from a different country. The countries were Brazil, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Poland, and South Korea. The Brazil one was probably my favorite stall. The steak and lamb chop bites were so tender and flavorful and the frozen Brazilian limonada refreshing. The Greece one was also a hit with a gyro packed full of beef and lamb that was delicious. The baklava sundae was delightful. The Ireland one was also pretty tasty. I enjoyed the bangers and champ, the corned beef slider, and the Bailey's Irish float. We skipped the Italy stall because nothing there seemed super compelling. I was excited about the Jamaica one since I went there last year but was let down. The jerk chicken tasted nothing like actual jerk seasoning although the chicken wings they gave you were crispy and tasty for general chicken wings. The shrimp skewer was burnt and the frozen hurricane tasted more like cough syrup than an actual cocktail. The Malibu splash pineapple and coconut seltzer that came in a can was delightful though, although I don't think that's actually authentic. The Mexico one was okay. The elite corn on the cob was burnt and had a weird seasoning that wasn't elote. The quesabirria came with a bizarre salsa type sauce in a cup and no consumme. The street taco had a decent amount of mahi mahi in it and the frozen margarita was good. For the Poland one we only got the sweet polish pancake which was not mind blowing but decent. We were super afraid of the South Korean one but it exceeded our expectations. The fried chicken bao had a kick to it and the dumplings were decent although they tasted like they came from the frozen section of Costco. Overall, it was a mixed experience in terms of the authenticity and quality of the bites we got. Props to Kennywood for trying but maybe they should bring in some food consultants if they're going to keep doing this. If you're going to advertise food from different countries, you should do it right.

Yelp
This is a review of the cafe ( cafeteria ) I found it a total mess a total shame, dirty and not good food. The girls did like the chicken fingers, but the fries should be like the patch and the noodles soggy and unbeatable. The turkey dinner was decent. I don't recommend it. I recommend the potato patch, the corn dogs and anything other.

Yelp
I'm a roller coaster and amusement/theme park enthusiast and I made the trip to Kennywood for the first time this past weekend. It's a beautiful amusement park with tons of history and charm. Pittsburgh should be proud to have a place like this, for most cities lost their historic amusement parks many decades ago. Kennywood has tons of historic, classic rides that you legitimately cannot experience anywhere else. These include the surprisingly fun Kangaroo, Noah's Ark funhouse, the surprisingly fun Turtle, and the wooden-tracked car ride. Other rare attractions include the Old Mill and The Whip. Its three classic wooden coasters create a lineup that's truly unparalleled at any other amusement park in the world. You're literally riding history. It also has some great, more modern rides including Steel Curtain (unfortunately closed this year) and the expectation-exceeding Phantom's Revenge (ride in the front for some unexpectedly amazing airtime moments). Kennywood's unique topography allows for some great coaster experiences. Two of the classics start off with drops instead of a lift hill. Phantom's Revenge's second drop is actually longer than the first. I only have a few knocks on Kennywood that keep it from being a perfect experience. First, operations are pretty awful. Rides and shops are understaffed and there's no urgency with many employees. I couldn't believe how seemingly short lines ended up being 45-minute waits. The park also needs to invest in upkeep a bit more. The carousel horses were in rough shape and other areas desperately needed some TLC. If you go on a summer Saturday like we did, I highly recommend getting the Speedy Pass. This allowed us to enjoy everything and repeat some attractions while allowing us to enjoy the park instead of spending every moment waiting in lines. We did the mid-tier option (50% shorter wait). Potato Patch fries.....holy crap. Worth the wait. Kennywood might have some areas for improvement, but it's still an absolute gem of a park. I loved my visit here and would love to return someday.

Yelp
This is a unique gem to Pittsburgh. A must-do for local families (at least once a year) and visitors alike! They have something for everyone - from the tame to the wild. Visit during the Halloween or Christmas seasons for an entirely new experience, too!

Julie L.

Yelp
We visited Kennywood for my 39th birthday this year (July 2023) and it was a SHORT visit because it started raining and the park closed up sharp.... They did, however, provide passes to basically come back on any open operating day. But.... we rode the Phantom's Revenge multiple times. I would return here just for the Phantom's Revenge. If you haven't been, googled images of this ride. It's absolutely a BLAST and the ascent upwards feels like you're literally on a one way track to ..... space. It's sooooooo high in the sky! Kennywood is a 5 star experience! Sincerely, Californian

Yelp
I'll give credit where credit is due that over the past few years Kennywood has done a good job keeping the park in good condition. And for families being able to bring in food and drinks to picnic, it does give off a family vibe overall. But the reality is, it's just not a park for me. The food and drinks are Disney pricing with carnival quality. While it's good to see all the young people they employ, most of the interactions I've had have been dreary at best. And I get that they've had security issues with the inspection upon entering is absolutely crazy and there were like 2 dozen rent a cops wandering the park - which outs off a bad vibe in my opinion. As far as the rides go, I understand the appeal of the wooden coasters and they are the best part of the park. But everything else is poorly themed and either just swings you back in forth or in circles. Which just isn't my thing.

Yelp
My children love Kennywood. I am a mother of 3 children they visit often, we are season ticket holders and everything. Vicki was rude and unreasonable we were trying to park and she stood in front of our car and yelled at us saying there's no spots even though there was MULTIPLE as you can see in the back there are children leaving. Kennywood would be a 5 start but after the steel curtin and Vicki I'm on my last straw. I read the Kennywood handbook and she does not follow the rules to be a Kennywood employee.

Yelp
Had a little family outing to Kennywood today and was happy to show my two boys some of the rides I grew up one when visiting grandparents in PGH. The kinds were very happy in Kiddieland and I was happy to see that most of the rides were operable and that the lines weren't too long today. Besides kid's rides, we also set out to ride a few of the adult rides. Steel Curtain and Phantom's Revenge were lots of fun, but I was disappointed that in line for both the Sky Rocket and Thunderbolt, the rides malfunctioned and were weren't able to ride. We unfortunately wasted a lot of time for no reward. I truly hope it was a fluke and that the rides are being well-maintained as I saw earlier in the day that Racer was also out of commission.

True R.

Yelp
PLACE (4) clean atmosphere, bathrooms could use improvement, there are many different types of rides for all ages SERVICE (2) not all, but most employees were impolite and not accommodating FOOD (4) most food at the park is good, I would not recommend the pizza though PRICE (3) a standard ticket is pricy, but the website has good deals High point - the lines are short and the rides are worth it Low point - the workers need a better attitude Overall score - 3.25

Yelp
Oh Kennywood, the great escape! Circa 1990's commercial. As a kid I loved amusement parks, especially the ones I got to visit annually like Kennywood. During those days you would count down the days to when you would be going almost like Christmas! Then when the day came it was full of magic! We would get there when it opened and wouldn't leave until the lights were shutting off. Those days Kennywood seemed massive. Full of rides, games, arcades, food and fun! It's amazing what you remember and what it actually represents today. Today the park is actually on the small side in my opinion. It was never cheap to go, literally I recall tickets being around $18.00 for a ride all day pass, but that was a long time ago and felt expensive for the period. Those days you could also purchase a general admission ticket if you did not wish to ride and buy actual tickets to ride rides you wanted to ride. That is all in the past. Days after leaving Kennywood we would continue to wear our nylon wristband like a Purple Heart recipient. So proud, so wanting other kids to envy your recent excursion to Kennywood. Fast forward to adulthood. Tickets without discount are over $50.00 a person, maybe as much as $60.00. A lot of people go with groups, (schools, work, other picnics) and get group discounted rates. The park, as mentioned is just smaller. They took rides out and didn't replace them with new ones. They added some newer rides but a lot of them are of the spin you around and upside down til you puke type. A lot of the rides were out of commission the last time we went. Sure this would probably be related to our current worker shortage, but that isn't reflected in current ticket prices. The food is mediocre at best and limited if you do not eat certain things. This past trip was the first time I had been to Kennywood in 8 years, and the trip before broke a 16 year hiatus. As and adult I don't care to go to amusement parks and it shows with my limited attendance. However there are some things that I loved as a kid and they are still going strong. For starters, the old wood roller coasters are by far my favorite things to ride. They are also usually the longest lines to wait in. The Jack Rabbit and Racers are very old, made in the 1920's. I love both coasters and as a kid believed wholeheartedly that we "jumped the tracks" on the double dip on the Jack Rabbit! The Thunderbolt is one of my all time favorites! The old mill used to be the ride you would go with your school sweetheart hoping for a kiss, though it was never the tunnel of love, but more a haunted boat ride. The Kangaroo and the Turtle are mild but nostalgic. Along with the Pirate Ship and the now revamped raging rapids! Some other noteworthy mentions, the potato patch fires, the merry-go-round and the music express. These were the rides of my youth and eatery, that still exists today. What was taken but not replaced is vast. The Ferris wheel is a big miss, along with the turn pike, magic carpet ship, and the log jammer. I will forever hold memories of the rotor spinning so fast you just stuck to the walls of the cylinder, or the gold rush spider coming so close to touching your hair at the abrupt stop. Let's not forget the parachutes, the Laser Loop and the bumper cars! The potato patch is not what I remember. I remember salty crispy fries covered in tangy nacho cheese. Everything lacked flavor and the fries were more mushy than any other texture. The games are stupid expensive and just plain stupid now followed by the arcades that once housed the coolest penny arcade I ever visited. No guess your weight and age, only throw this really light ball into a small bin and hope it doesn't bounce for $10.00 a shot. To everything turn, but there was once a time this was quite the frankly what kid dreams were made of!

Robin B.

Yelp
For me Kennywood is the perfect amusement park... It is just right. Everything you want in a park and nothing you don't. Nostalgia? Check! The Thunderbolt is the best wooden Roller Coaster in the world. The Jack Rabbit is amazing too. The Old Mill and Noah's Ark take me back in time. More Modern Thrill Rides? Check! Phantom's Revenge is amazing too, the first drop is the best drop in coasters until you hit the second drop into the natural ravine through the Thunderbolt! The Natural Terrain makes both the Thunderbolt and Phantom's Revenge each totally amazing! Can't get that in Sandusky. The food is really good too. The Pints and Bites food festival is great. Better ethnic foods than the ethnic restaurants in the city. My hats off to the executive chef who came up with the amazing flavors and pulled it off at an amusement park! I never leave Kennywood without a smile on my face.

Tres B.

Yelp
Kennywood has been a great place for me, friends and family to visit for years. The rides are fun and food is good. The Potato Patch fries are the best fries I have ever had. Season pass holder every year.

Ramona D.

Yelp
Not much the day I took my grandchildren to Night Lights. Had to pay full price even though I had a season pass for two buddies. Can't take two buddies at the same time so that was a big disappointment. Some lines said 15 minute wait and we actually stayed in line for an hour. Would have been nice if they let me add the extra ticket to my new season pass. I emailed and no answer

Yelp
Awesome amusment park that isn't too large and very unique. They have a great collection of roller coasters, thrill rides, dark rides, kid's rides, whatever you could think of, they have PLENTY of it. The dark rides were super unique. They have a water ride/haunted house, a haunted house "shooter" game ride, and then a walk-through haunted house/FUN HOUSE themed to Noah's Ark, just an absolutely bewildering yet wonderfully odd and unique collection of rides. Other highlights were Thunderbolt and Phantom's Revenge, which both use the hilly terrain, leading to some big surprises, which I won't spoil, but it's something no other park does. The wooden coasters are fun and classic, not too rough, just good old fashioned fun. Exterminator was probably my favorite ride here, yet ANOTHER dark ride that's a spinning coaster, probably the hardest I've laughed on a roller coaster ever. Free parking, which is a HUGE plus. Food is expensive, but it's not like I expected it to be cheap, so I can't deduct points for that. Overall, the park is super neat and looks very nice, and has an old-fashioned feel. Only thing I'm deducting points for are the ridiculous amount of cops/security here, and their behavior. Pittsburgh and it's suburbs are a fairly low-crime area, so the cops here are just looking for problems (most likely due to sheer boredom). Me and my girlfriend got wrongfully accused of stealing a SLUSHIE (which is kept behind the counter), and if the owner is reading this, please find out who did this, because that was not just absolutley unecessary, it's utterly ludicrous and whoever did that to us should be fired. Another note, one of the workers (a young kid, probably no older than 16) looked extremley fatigued and nearly threw up and passed out, which makes me question the morality of the buissiness practices and worker's rights at this park.

Olivia O.

Yelp
Been coming to kennywood for as long as I remember. The holidays are my favorite for this theme park. Fright night is always done so well. They offer kid activities during the day and haunts at night. Nothing is overly scary though and most of the rides are open.Holiday lights is even better. Kennywood has gone cashless.

Mary-Michael M.

Yelp
I am in shock of what happened at Kennywood today. I am posting in hopes to connect with the family that was victimized by the staff. I truly hope we can connect. My only regret is I didn't make sure we had each others correct contact information. I took my youngest child, under 5 to Kennywood to grab our season passes. We only had a bit over an hour to just relax. So I planned just the minimal- the new car thing (eh , sadly over rated), 3-4 kiddie land rides and then grab dinner, of course the potato patch since its our first time this year. I planned we would do the carousel and head out. The operators in Kiddie land were amazing today. My kid only did the turtle, a couple times. And 1-2 other things. And then we headed to the Potato Patch, the staff in Kiddyland are amazing. My Pre-Schooler got a schooling in profinity & some terms that were shocking from the staff at the Potato Patch. The family in front of us had one middle aged male speaking Spanish to his family. A staff member began SCREAMING at that guest that he was going to "STEAL" from the Potato Patch while using A LOT of profinity and some terms I am not repeating here. Very shocking things. The family was actually really calm despite the stafds hospitality. This family just kep taking harassment and horrible thing said to them. And it did not stop. It continued from the time I was standing in line, to getting my order, filling our drinks. It was relentless. There was NO evidence, this family was stealing, it was harassment because one individual spoke Spanish and the employee was, literally, Screaming at the top or their LUNGS to that this person should not "steal". And for over five minutes, probably closer to ten, they would not did not stop screaming that they were going to steal due to their ethnicity. It eventually became clear it was because they were speaking Spanish! To clarify---/ At first, I didn't understand what was happening or why! The staff member was screaming "dont steal". "Make sure you pay". The staff member never moved from their spot at the register closest to lost Kennywood. I really thought I had done something wrong in how I had ordered and filled our drinks. I dont know if I explained all of this correctly, it was truly, even for me, very traumatic and upsetting for my child. . And I am upset my 4 year old was witnessed all of. And they learned some very crazy terms& that I will not post here. But hearing staff members screaming... WOW. Please, if you are the family who were the victims, please contact me. The situation became clear.. It wasn't about me and my son being accused of stealing of stealing. We we not being profiled. It was the family in front of us. Although I am horrified of what my child saw. I know i am repeating- but am really upset that my child experienced this. I realized by some specific things said by this staff member, terms that are not ok, his issue was with the family in front of me because one person wasn't speaking English. The family that was making a purchase was a multi-generational group ahead of my son and I. Their eldest male was at the register closest to the seating. And putting all of his family's purchases on his card. It was JARRING to hear staff SCREAMING at patrons. Not even quietly approaching someone. BUT screaming in fromt of and at a customers that they believed they thought was a type of person who is going to steal. I asked for a manager. And the name of the person screaming. Everyone in line was upset and uncomfortable. I had been sworn at. And not even accused of stealing falsely like the family in front of me. It. Got. Worse. , teenagers, asking for a manager, the staff at the Potato Patch started using profanity and made some comments I won't repeat. I was in awe. They would not get management. The staff started screaming at all of patrons and swearing at the family who were accused of stealing. It took quite a bit of time to ask staff to get a supervisor to come. And even then. That individual had a response that continued to be unacceptable. Additional staff responded in a shocking manner. I am not going to repeat it here. I have said, I will repeat this- I am SHOCKED by the behavior of staff. I do hope to connect with the family that experienced this firsthand and was called such awful things. And I hope Kennywood addressed this incident. This was not ok. If you are the family who experienced this, please reach out. We both said we are going to speak with supervisors. I will. I really hope we can connect about what happened. Update: What is even more frustrating is that I was given a nuber to call to speak to someone who supposedly is the head of Food & Beverage. Its not a working extension and I am unable to get any person on the phone to even speak with someone about this.j

Yelp
I was there with my kids it was fun other then. The rides were NOT OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! It deeply hurts my feelings even tho it was 41°F and the rides shouldve been open.#Rude. But my kids and I had a blast! The christmas lights was so beautiful. Also the christmas tree did not disappoint!!! Which i do understand why the rides were not open but my kids were very disappointed and i feel like a peice of crap mom for getting them excited for the ride.

Ryan F.

Yelp
You have to come for the events, more so than just going because you have an itch to ride a roller coaster. You go, because the yearly passes on Black Friday make it worth it, and you can go to special events with your kids. Personally, a man of 38, I don't love Kennywood, but my kids enjoy going and for the points I made above--it's worth going too. Below are some photos of the Christmas Event... I love model trains sorry! Lol

Marci P.

Yelp
Wow! We had an amazing time at the park on a Thursday. We were able to park in the free parking lot so we didn't have to pay for parking. Getting into the park was quick, ride lines were short (longest we waited for anything was 20 min but almost everything was walk on), staff was friendly, park was clean, food places were open, security was present, and the rides were fun. We knew some rides were down before going to the park so we didn't build them into our plan. I also enjoyed reading about the history of many of the park rides.

Haley H.

Yelp
The park is great - this review is for ride operator Tamiya. She let our son hang off the kids carousel horse while he cried on his birthday because she said we could not help him positioned correctly on the horse. And then she was spiteful and helped every other child who was already fully seated prior to getting to him. She then followed up by talking ugly about our child and us to another coworker standing outside the , while our child stared at her confused. Dorletta (may be spelled wrong) from the lil phantom in kiddy land was amazing and made him feel so special on his birthday! Please thank her!

Yelp
The price for admission let alone food is outrageously overpriced. It is clearly not designed or meant for anyone who has any form of physical limitation ex. Spine, joint, heart problem that may prevent them from riding certain rides or attractions. This amusement park is trying to be something the founders never designed it to be. They designed it to be a welcoming family friendly welcoming park. Now it is better known for violence and security similar to the kind found at airports rather than amusement parks as well as rides that break down and being a wanna be Disney or Six Flags rather than a small town outside of Pittsburgh amusement park.

April J.

Yelp
I grew up going to Kennywood and have very fond memories. My husband and I took our two girls( 9 and 7) today and it was such a disappointment! The price to get in was $150 with a discount, the lines were so ridiculously long with a 45-90 min wait for most rides, and to make things worse a lot of the rides were closed. We hardly got to ride any rides because of the wait times and people using " fast passes" that allowed them to cut in line. I was so excited to give my children the experience I had growing up but unfortunately that wasn't the case today.

Stormie G.

Yelp
The price of admissions, season tickets, daily online tickets outrageously too expensive. Most of the rides were not available. They were all closed down $34.99 for a souvenir cup no thank you. Three of the restaurants were open, and then after five more opened. Big whoop on that one.. and as expensive as the food was, it was horrible tasting. I would not recommend this park even to my worst enemies. This park used to be the best park in all the land and now it's a dumpsite and they wonder why they're losing money.

Yelp
Best amusement park near Pittsburg,PA and it's really good for kids and most of the stuff is wheelchair accessible and with its events like Halloween and Light up night with rollercoasters and other fun rides so make sure to stop by

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend went to Kennywood and he's 18, but I'm not and never once did it say on their website that you needed somebody 21 or over to get into the park if you are under 18. The officer was very rude about it I asked what we were supposed to do and he said "you're screwed." I would give it zero stars. We drove over an hour up here for an officer to tell us we're screwed and we can't get into the park.

Yelp
I'd give it zero if I could. What happened to that lovely park I looked forward to visiting every summer? Big percentage of rides not open, prices out of control. $6.99 for a cup of coffee ? C'mon ! The double nugget ice cream cone was a sloppy mess and the employee that served it was not very customer friendly. Expensive ticket entry. I realize it may not be fully staffed this early in the season, but adjust ticket prices for that. Once again just so much greed.

Yelp
We visited kennywood over the weekend for fall fast and it was a great time. Things I've learned; 1) It's a lot cheaper buying tickets online vs. at the gate. 2) Keep track of your spending at the park since it's a cash free park now you need to use your debit card or credit card for all purchases. 3) funnel cakes; There are two lines.. the left line is for ordering & paying then you will get a receipt. Then you go to the second line to the right to wait for your funnel cake. 4) The steel curtain is definitely one of the worst roller coasters I've ever ridden. It's a twisting and turning disaster that never ends. I did enjoy the descent up the hill but that's about it. 5) I will never eat at the Little chicken and fries stand over at lost kennywood. The chicken bites were barely coated with buffalo seasoning. It looks like they might have been in the freezer too long and the fries they were an absolute disgrace. It just seem like the staff working there didn't really know what they were doing. The food should not have been in the state it was in. 6) Expect to wait since all the coasters have only one train running because there isnt enough staff. 7) The phantom's revenge is still the absolute best ride no matter where you're sitting. 8) The merry-go-round closes at six during fall fest but is absolutely amazing at night!! Spooky music, smoke and lights.. it's a must see!!! 9) Was looking forward to a corn dog but apparently that concession stand closed ( by the potato patch ) and I have no idea where to get one now? Since that concession stand has been there for a very long time a sign on the back of it would be helpful to tell customers where to get corn dogs that are looking for them. 10) The kangaroo ride is still so much fun you have to ride it ..it's the only one of its kind!!! 11) I wore a jean jacket and put my personal items in the pocket but my friends were not allowed in the park with even a small purse. 12) The racer was under construction we were disappointed that's such a great coaster!! 13) we parked in the preferred parking section and paid and when we went to leave all the exits were blocked. it took us 10 minutes to leave the parking lot trying to find an exit that wasn't blocked?? I don't understand who thought this was a good idea?

Yelp

Yelp
Didn't let me wear my hotdog costume on fright night and had to throw it away. Everyone else gets to wear one except me. I think there racist.

Yelp
Kennywood is a true Pittsburgh gem and must be experienced by any tourist or local that loves a good theme park. I really feel like this park is unique in its old history of wooden rollercoasters and timeless character - a place where the old meets the new and you can go back in time a little and enjoy the park you grew up with while experiencing the new rides and add updates here and there. I hope they never fully modernize it because it would lose its charm! I visited for fall fest this weekend , rode every coaster and went through multiple haunted houses. First off the staff is so dedicated to the theme , and they make sure you have a great time!!! I know a lot of work is put in to their characters - I just love it! Favorite haunted house: vampire villa when you first walk in! Super scary and lengthy. Worth the wait in line! Review of the new coaster Steel Curtain: it was awesome - I'm glad they have added a new modern coaster for those who love these kind like at cedar point , BUT--- I enjoyed the phantoms revenge AND the Thunderbolt SO MUCH MORE! That goes to show the biggest best and newest doesn't always win the prize! Wait in line, get the front seat on the Phantom, and tell me I'm wrong! Awesome ! I also love the skyrocket but it was closed the day we went. Returning next weekend to ride and walk through everything we missed! Get there early and make a plan, you can get through most of the park! Also- check their Facebook page for any deals and offers the day or weekend you go! I love a great deal, and I was able to get in half off with my friend who is a season pass holder! Don't snooze on Kennywood park during Fall Fest, it's one of the best times you can have in Pittsburgh !!!

Yelp
Kemnywood is a Beautiful Park with some really good rides. Unfortunately the staff at the park is about as bas as you will find anywhere. They have a section for small children and decide to place rude unfriendly teenagers to work the rides. On 3 separate occasions they raised their voice at small children. The workers used to take pride in the park but now its just a bunch of rude punks working the rides

Jamie B.

Yelp
This would be big fat ZERO if one was available! This park sucked so bad. Half the rides were closed. Your not allowed ANYTHING in the park like a LUNCH, you have to buy it all in the park and things were so insanely expensive because they know they got you! What a giant rip off. None and I do mean NONE of the workers were friendly, they all had major attitudes and were so unpleasant. One of the workers shoved and locked my shoulder bar so tight into my stomach, I'm still not sure if I should seek medical help for damage inside my stomach. NEVER AGAIN! KENNYWOOD YOU SUCK!

Yelp
GREAT day at a GREAT little amusement park. Could not have asked for a better crowd day, too (we hit the park on a Wednesday as soon as it opened - 22 June). First, FREE parking was a HUGE bonus. We got to the park 20 minutes before it opened, and we were able to park for free very close to the entrance. There is PREFERRED parking available for $12, but I am not sure what benefit it gets you. From what I saw, bags and coolers are allowed in the park, but they will be searched by security as you enter the park. It is pretty neat once you get through the gates that you actually walk under the highway to get into the park itself. For a small amusement park, Kennywood offers a lot do, even for the very young kids. Plenty of coasters for thrill seekers and coaster geeks like me and my daughter. Plus, there are a good number of "family rides" suitable for all ages and "skill" levels. There is ample shade through the park, but they need more shaded benches near rides for the non-riders. The marquee ride lives up to its quest for the spotlight. Steel Curtain is AMAZING! 75 mph and upside down 9 times! Well worth the wait. Thankfully for us, there was no wait. Phantom's Revenge is also GREAT, and still fast and smooth. But, don't miss the classic wooden coasters. They are just as much fun and bring a whole lot of nostalgia to the park - Jack Rabbit with its double dip; The Racers that switch sides after each run; and Thunderbolt with its twisting dives in and around Phantom's Revenge. TIP: Kennywood does offer the ADHD pass for riders with special needs. Recommend getting it at the Guest Services booth behing Noah's Ark IN the park. Don't hassle with the lines at the front gate. Head into the park and get your pass. Overall, Kennywood gets a MUST DO! for summer fun. It's an easy day in a clean, small park packed with plenty of thrills and fun. Have fun! Big bonus for us: Two Ritas and two Auntie Anne's in the park (on either side of the park)... plus, a Johnny Rockets! Lots of places to grab a soda or a snack. Food prices are reasonable, but bottled soda and water will run you $4.50 and $3.50 respectively.

Yelp
A lot has changed at Kennywood since I was a child. It's been over 5 years since I last visited the park and lots have changed since then too. There is so much I can cover on this review but I'll keep it brief. Overall, I love some of the changes they have made with their food selection. As a foodie, I love trying worldly cuisine. They now offer food from many cultures including Polish, Italian, and Greek cuisine. I didn't try this food because I had my mouth set on the infamous potato patch fries and was craving a corn dog but I love the new variety. The potato patch fries were fire, just how I remembered growing up. Kennywood houses my favorite ice cream shop in Pittsburgh -- Millies! Their chocolate ice cream takes me to such a happy place! It's the perfect balance of creamy and rich. Their waffle cones are flavorful and divine. You can taste the cinnamon and vanilla in them. Together its a heavenly combo. The prices of food were reasonable and expected for a amusement park. Their games however, threw me for a loop. I did not expect to pay upwards of $10 for a game. It was very convenient not having to have cash to play. They switched out some of their games for arcade games. I didn't purchase a gaming card but the prices were a bit reasonable. The arcade games operate off a ticket system. The wait for the rides was pretty long. I waited around an hour and forty minutes to ride the Exterminator. It was well worth the wait, still one of my all time favorite rides with the Phantom's Revenge being a very close second. Kennywood does offer express options. I thought they were pretty creative and competitive with larger amusement parks. If you're a Pittsburgh native like me who isn't worrying about riding, it may not be worth the money. I was able to pay kids price due to Kennywood offering a promotion for a few weeks. I'd absolutely go back next time I can find a discounted ticket. It's a great time when you surround yourself with the right group of people. You can always bring your own food to cut down on the costs.

Yelp
Wanted to go to the park today, but for some random reason they are closed. Glad I checked their website before driving for two hours for nothing. Can't believe they are closed on a Tuesday. Two hugely disappointed grandchildren. Lame...

William S.

Yelp
Nice worker and cafe! They should go back to because it was hard to use the card and go to the video game it was hard to know which card to use! The ufo ride I feel like it was not safe! Please have more kennywood with sto rox every June!

Terry L.

Yelp
If you are planning on going to this park I would call before traveling 3 hours to find out they won't open until6 hours after they post online. We as well as 100 other people went on Monday 3-hour trip from Ohio to find out at 10:45 by a security guard they were not opening until 4 o'clock that day. Another lady from Virgnia with their family there bought tickets an hour prior to arriving and time of opening was 11 and they just had to leave. What a disappointment in Mangement to not upgrade their time but still charge for tickets. Wasted day for us will NEVER be back and will NEVER refer anyone. Sad because we had not been there since kids and was looking forward to a fun day.

Yelp
I bought season passes for me and my two grandkids this year for the first time. We love the rides. But the food is atrocious and the concession lines are ridiculous. I literally had to wait an hour for a hamburger on Friday! I won't be renewing next year due to the atrocious food. I used to love the food at kennywood. Very disappointing.

Yelp
I went back to Kennywood today for the first time in at least 10 years with my six year old nephew. The park has not changed much over the decade, but I did notice some nice new modern rides in addition to the old classics. We went on a Saturday, so the park was busy and lines were very long. My nephew had lots of fun and enjoyed everything we rode. Other than the potato patch fries, food is not as good as I remember. It seems like they are struggling with the same staffing issues that are being experienced everywhere, but most things were open and staffed. Food lines were especially long and did not seem to be very efficient. Overall, this is a fun amusement park with a historic feel. Definitely nostalgic for me, but I still got a thrill, especially from the new Steelers themed roller coaster.

Yelp
I had a good time. I got there at 5p and only had time to ride one thing because the wait times are long and the park closes too early... but the one ride was good and why I came (the Steel Curtain). It's not as fast as I expected, and the hill drop isn't as dramatic as I wanted but overall a fun ride.

Yelp
One of my truly favorite spots in the world! Huge fan of the rides, games, food, and environment. Perfect family park for children, thrill seekers, foodies, and more. Perfect way to spend your summer day!

Yelp
I find the main issue is that nobody is listening. Things are not getting any better and customer service has gone out the window. I've asked a number of other seniors about visiting local parks. They have the same issues and concerns I had with this park last year. Kennywood has no consideration for those that can't make full use of the park. I've asked about discounted admission for those that would like to enjoy the park, but are not able to get on the rides. Their answer is that everybody pays the same price regardless of their conditions. Nick P. from Business Customer Service is certainly good at the business, deflecting any inquiries about admission prices. Rather than addressing the concerns of people that can't, for various reasons, use the ride portion of the park, his responses are a corporate response that indicates that he has never looked at this issue and has no intention of ever addressing it. What he does not seem to be good at, based on his answers to customer questions, is the Customer Service part I do have to wonder if they realize how much they probably lose in concessions and games because of this policy. The park is now nothing like I remember. When I went there many years ago, every visitor had value. Now it feels like a money grab. I'd like to think I'm not alone in feeling this way. Maybe I am.

Yelp
This summer you can find me at Kennywood ...when I am not at Sandcastle. I purchased a platinum season pass and I love it!!!
