6 of the most stunning places to view New England’s autumn foliage - SilverKris

"A state park featuring a series of scenic waterfalls that cascade into the Housatonic River and are framed by abundant hardwoods that blaze with colour in autumn; visitors can take an easy but occasionally steep trail up alongside the falls for multiple viewpoints." - Rachel Eva Lim

A beautiful Connecticut State Park! The waterfalls are really stunning here. They are only a short walk from the parking lot. There is a trail with stairs you can follow up the waterfall and take in the different vantage points. I highly recommend stopping by!

Kent Falls in Kent, CT is easily one of the most popular—and most beloved—waterfalls in the state, and after visiting, it’s clear why. With a spacious open field, picnic benches, and grills, it’s the perfect spot to spend the day soaking in the beauty of the falls. It’s a family-friendly destination with a 3 out of 10 difficulty rating—just a walk across the lawn and a few stairs if you want to get closer to the falls. For the brave, there's a stairway that leads you up alongside the cascades for a more adventurous view. This is the only spot on our waterfall road trip where you can truly relax, hang out, and let the falls be your backdrop for an unforgettable afternoon.

It's a fairly short hike but it's pretty steep. Most of it is stairs and a path way. As someone who is a moderate hiker myself I'd consider this a 4 out of 10 hike for toughness.

Very pretty park with a 250’ tall waterfall and a large grassy area with picnic tables. There is a long set of rock stairs that are well built with a hand rail all the way up. There are a few platforms off the stairs to see the falls.

Loved the beauty and the silence. We were lucky to be the only one out here. You have space for family barbecue or for your dog to run. Or the kids. Fantastic. Seems that you can even fish. Adorable place.

Nice family park w a plus of somw hiking. Not to difficult except the beginning of the trail to see the waterfalls. I highly recommended stopping after a nice rain storm. Peaceful noises from the waterfalls. During summer months this place gets absolutely packed w ourdoor parties and bbqs.

I was here 4 years ago and totally loved the hike. A lot has changed, the trails are now textured paved with wood railings. A lot of the rock formations that were parts of the falls have eroded. There were almost no park rangers there (2) with all cuts funds. Lots of trees that had fallen, upper sections eroded. And none of it taken care of because of no staff to do things. The next heavy rain storm is going to potentially collapse a couple of trees. While the falls are still beautiful, I hate to think what is going to happen without proper care.

Multi-tier waterfall. My favorite is the upper two falls. Short hike but lots of stairs/elevation going up. Highly recommend this place!
