This a great spot for a day hike while you are in the Hengchun/Kenting area. The hike in is almost all uphill and will get your heart going. I was able to get around most of the park in a couple of hours. There are some cool caves and crevasses to go through. I did see a few monkeys up in the trees as well. I also encountered a snake which is not a surprise in these parts.

FOR NATURE LOVERS, THIS IS A MUST-SEE IN KENTING!! Beautiful, almost magical forest with surprisingly intricate caves and limestone cliffs with amazing banyan and pine trees and plants, filled with monkeys, butterflies, bats, cicadas, and elusive deer, and all accessible to viewing via paved/cement trails that wind their way on a varied gradient, with steps, to the cooler breezes at the top of the small mountain. Two excellent and air-conditioned cafes serve a small, nice selection of tasty dishes and desserts, at the main Visitor Center (a 10 mins walk from the ticket booth/parking lots) and on the 6th floor of the Sea View Tower (which has, as you might expect, excellent views). Terrific experience, kid-friendly (with many areas stroller accessible), a very special place, and one of the very special forests in Taiwan.

Beautiful national Park. A lot of wildlife to see and to discover. Nice to do with family. Pretty easy walk.

It is possible to walk from the gate to the entrance of the park, which takes about 1.5 hours. However, since we were pressed for time, we decided to take our motorcycle instead. Please note that electric scooters are not allowed. The parking fee for motorcycles is NT$20, plus an entrance fee of NT$100 on weekdays and NT$150 on weekends and holidays. The friendly staff provided us with a map that included recommended trails. The entire loop around the park takes approximately 2.5 hours, but since we didn't have that much time, we opted for the forest trail, the crystal cave, and the observation tower, returning to the entrance in under an hour. The view from the observation tower was amazing! We arrived at 8 AM and were the only people on the trail and in the cave at that time. We noticed more cars and buses starting to arrive around 9 AM.

Loved this park, would hugely recommend! It’s very well laid out and enjoyable to walk around, with good variety in the scenery and information to learn. It feels very special walking through coral ridges that would have been under the sea but are now covered with trees and wildlife. Great animals! We saw monkeys, deer, lizards and bats. The caves were the highlight - the fairy cave is really beautiful and our favourite cave on our round the world trip, magical seeing the bats so up close too! Only complaint would be how irregular the buses are but we managed to share a life with someone driving back down. Could benefit from an hourly minibus or something.

Must go see this! You can walk for about 2-3 hours here. It's beautiful! Don't miss the fairy cave and the observation deck. Beautiful place with an incredible vantage point!

The park is nice and there are a lot of things to see however it's too tiring. Haha. There are plenty of seats though so it's nice. Such a good getaway especially if you like to reconnect with nature. Also attaching a bus schedule because there's not much public transportation in the area.

Nice large area to walk in with incredible landscapes and spectacular forests. The view from the Viewing Tower was breathtaking, and the two caves we went through were so beautiful. I have never seen such a concentration of butterflies in a wild setting.
