Visited Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom and had a great experience! Everything was decorated beautifully for the holidays, the Christmas cocktails were yummy and the snow tubing ride was (scary at first) but so fun! Will definitely go next year!

We Loved Christmas at the Kingdom!!! So much fun... so many decorations and the snow tube hill was a blast... loved the old fashioned car ride & the Rudolph ride was fun! The Spirit of the season show was particularly fun for our family... we loved the singing and the cast was fantastic! Great time for the whole family!!!

We went for the Christmas party and it was such a great time. The lines weren't long at all like in the summer season and most rides were open. Sledding was so much fun! Family friendly, plenty for all ages and wonderful accommodations.

One of my favorite waterparks in the Midwest… if Louisville is considered the Midwest, there’s always debate about that. Anyway, we’ve been season pass holders a couple times, though we live in northern Indiana, and have had a blast every time. It’s always been clean and we’ve never had a bad time. There’s plenty to do, lots of food choices, and though my favorite is the water park… the amusement park portion is awesome too. I hope to see Kentucky Kingdom at Christmas in the future, the pictures look amazing!

This was a treat for my 8 year old twins. They had never been to Kentucky Kingdom, so, they got a little taste of what will come next summer. We had a blast and the park was gorgeous all lit up for Christmas. Just wish we could have gotten to everything. So little time, so much to do!😁

Google
The igloo rental was price pointed perfectly and well worth it for the cold rainy new years event (especially with the added coupons that were provided). I will definitely reserve this experience next year, if the price and extras don't change. Great to experience Kentucky Kingdom during the winter months! Looking forward to the new rides being added for 2025.

Had a great time with my kids at the Christmas festivities at Kentucky Kingdom. The tubing hill was a lot of fun and hopefully something my kids will remember and look forward to doing again. Great time for whole family.

We were having so much fun before.. 2 parks in 1.. and they offered 2 days for 1 day pass.. i doubt they still offer it now. They also have refillable drinks and sunscreen.. 2 hours drive from Indiana is worth a drive.

Yelp
So much to do so much to see. I turn into a huge kid when I'm here every ride is the best ride it's an adventure to go to Kentucky Kingdom and I love an adventure.

Lorie L.

Yelp
This is the first time I've had a season pass. My teen received one as a gift and isn't old enough to visit without an adult. We opted for the gold level which gives us 3 passes for friends and a refillable bottle for drinks. Parking is also a great perk that's included with a pass ($12/entry). We've been able to enjoy Hurricane Bay in addition to the rides. I was lucky to get chairs under an umbrella for shade and the breeze. The lockers, changing areas and restrooms felt upgraded and several eating options are within the water park. I noticed several lifeguards as well and several workers were keeping the spaces cleaned up as visitors came and went. I'm looking forward to a few trips with my son and excited to attend their fall and winter events, which are also included with our pass. We will also be able to purchase discount tickets for other guests.

Natalya R.

Yelp
I came here with my friends and spent about six hours exploring the whole park and enjoying our day off. Upon entering the gate to this place, you have to pay a fee per car of $12, and the individual ticket is cheaper to purchase online than in person at the ticket booth by $10! I should have known this before buying my ticket in person, and I could have saved money. (You don't have to make this mistake, though.) Once you park your car and get your tickets, there's another expenditure you must make other than drinks or food: a locker. I purchased a large locker that fits my beach bag with my stuff in it ($15). If you bring a medium-large backpack, you must buy an XL locker, as a large locker won't fit your gear. Again, once you are done settling your locker, you are ready to explore the whole park! There are plenty of rides to see, which my friend and I did initially before enjoying all the water theme rides. Bring a fanny pack for your handheld devices and other things, and get your water! You have to stay hydrated, especially when the weather outside can be very humid and hot. This is a fun place to go to with your friends and family. There are different activities and rides for diverse ages, and everybody gets to have fun all day! It is worth checking out occasionally (maybe for summertime).

Yelp
Kentucky kingdom is a bit expensive but pretty cheap compared to other major parks. Sometimes you can even find discount deals. This park is great fun. There is a good selection of rides and activities. I especially enjoy the water park. I'm glad they opened the park again.

Yelp
My experience at Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay is basically limited to what is age appropriate for toddlers. My kids are 2 and 4. Kids that are 2 and under do not need tickets or passes. Season passes for children 3-5 are a steal...in fact, they are free. At the start of the season, buy an adult pass for yourself and add as many toddler passes as you need to your cart. When you go get your pass, take a copy of their birth certificate (or some other form of identification) and they will make passes for your kids. I can't imagine you can find a better deal for entertaining you children all summer long. King Louie's Playland is geared toward small children. The height requirements aren't high and most rides allow you to accompany your child if they aren't tall enough. These are mild to moderate level thrill rides that you can enjoy with your entire family. But when it comes to toddler entertainment, the real winner here is the water park. The front of the wave pool is perfect for little ones. It slants to emulate a beach. There is a large shallow section. Part of it is shaded. The kids can still enjoy the waves from the pool, but in very shallow water. There is a lifeguard in this section. You can bring your own puddle jumpers and life jackets, but it appears they provide them for free as well. The splash park is very large. There are water slides appropriate for new walkers and slides entertaining enough for me, an adult, to enjoy. You can go on the slides with your kids, wait at the bottom, and feel confident knowing there are extra eyes with the lifeguards on duty. The lazy river is the perfect way to lay back with a little one in tow and stay cool too. We haven't had any issues at the park and it hasn't been overcrowded when we've been there. The employees have been courteous and appear to take their jobs and safety of guests seriously. This a great way to enjoy a day with your family, whether you are local or visiting Louisville.

Yelp
Security is terrible. A man and his autistic daughter were there over the wknd for the Halloween festivities. The little girl was dancing and having the time of her life till security showed up because the said her mask was inappropriate. She's a little girl for gods sake. The man said they would leave me they followed him to the gate where more security was waiting. Now he has done nothing at all but tried to protect his daughter who was having a good time. If you know autistic kids that doesn't happen often. They handcuffed him in front of his daughter. Took him to their office and turned cameras off after that.

Taylor S.

Yelp
We enjoy Kentucky Kingdom every year. My son comes to visit me for at least a month each summer, and we hit up KK twice a week or more during that time. He's all about the thrill rides. I enjoy the lazy river at the water park, the Ferris wheel, and the Tin Lizzies. It's not Disney World, but it's certainly several steps up from the state fair, and that's the most thrills to be had in this town.

Jerimiah R.

Yelp
A man took me off the ride last before all the other people. I do not like this. Not acceptable at all. But overall ok experience.

Suzanne B.

Yelp
So much nostalgia going to this place as an adult! When I was a kid, we used to go to Kentucky Kingdom in the summer with my grandma as a special treat. If we were really lucky, we would hit up Hurricane Bay as well (I am aging myself, but I think they charged an extra fee at one point for Hurricane Bay). So when I had the opportunity to go back as an adult recently, I couldn't pass it up! The more things change, the more they stay the same. Some rides were no longer in the park, some were there but renamed, and some things were new and unfamiliar. Hurricane Bay is easily double the size that I remember from when I was a kid, and the kid in me wants to come back and spend a while day there sometime. I rode a couple of roller coasters while I was there, and Lightning Run was the most insane of them all! I could still feel my head spinning as we slowly pulled into the station at the end. And it would surprise me if that ride is the reason that corner of the park smelled like it needed to be scrubbed with bleach . All motion sickness associated odors aside, I was glad to get to relive my inner child days and spend some time at Kentucky Kingdom again.

Richille U.

Yelp
My husband and I took a 4 hour detour to the park this past weekend & had so much fun! We're so excited to go back when our God son comes to visit. We're assuming it was so busy because it's summer and it was a Saturday, nonetheless, the line wait times weren't absolutely ridiculous like at other parks. The prices of tickets weren't too expensive. The bottles of water and Gatorade was $4ish which was to be expected for a park. We didn't eat anything so I don't know what food prices are like. The photo prints from rides did seem extremely expensive per print. I believe at one ride, 1 print was $18 and $25 at another. I would definitely recommend this park for couples and families!

Yelp
It's a decent amusement park. It's not huge like Holiday World in Santa Claus Indiana but it's got a good water park... a highlight is this one water slide that's 100 feet in the air and you get inside this capsule and the floor suddenly slides away and you drop down the slide (very unique and very thrilling!) The amusement park is decent too. There are four rollercoasters - two steel and two wooden. A flying ship. Swings, etc. all the staples. I road on the lightning run rollercoaster. Was very fast, very smooth, and lots of air time! There's a wide variety of attractions, plenty of eating areas. There was only one ride - a water one - that was shut down at the time I was there from what I could see. Tickets aren't super expensive, however you can tell the park is cost cutting. There is no free sunscreen available and there is no free soda (both unlike Holiday World). A chicken tenders basket with fries cost 16 bucks (ridiculous I know, but not surprising). The place isn't as clean as it should be, but it's clean enough. They also aren't all that great at operating the rides at an efficient pace. There's rides where you could have sent two sets of tubes in the time frame they only send one. Also, raging rapids was shut down for forty minutes just to clean one little pile of throw up. The ride wasn't worth the wait! Parking is 12 bucks. Annoying, but, it is what it is. You might also wish that the hours were extended. Maybe go from 9am to 9pm instead of 11am to 7pm. But with the time you've got, if you go during the week, you're guaranteed to get on every ride you want to - and maybe a few times on your favorites! Overall, all things considered, it's a good time.

Yelp
Brought my family here today. I have been several times! This year has been wonderful! Lines are never too long. Food is great! There are adult beverages available for those who need it. Lots of options for small kids and big kids! At the end of our day we chose to go into the water and cool down before leaving! We had a great day! I didn't give it a five because there was some immaturity amongst the staff and their playing around with each other on the job. When it comes to rides and paying attention, I take it more serious. Overall, we loved it and will keep going back!

Yelp
Recommended Rides: Kentucky Flyer Skycatcher Lightning Run Pirate ship ( unknown ride name) Ferris weal Drop Tower Thunder Run That's it, I wouldn't recommend Storm Chaser though, mostly because when you add shakey and 15,0000 corkscrews, it is not very pleasant. DO NOT GO ON T-3

Ryan P.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying, last time I was at this park was 2006, under different ownership/management. This park is very middle-of-the-road - especially compared with Kings Island and Holiday World so close. My visit today was brief. We came in around 10:40 AM, and the entrance process was a breeze. To their credit, they let people in early and "hold" them at two points, so the turnstiles are not congested right at opening. This is a nice practice and something I wish more parks would do. We headed for Lightning Run first thing, but the line was out to the entrance. When coming in, it sounds like they had two big company picnics going on, on top of being a Saturday in August. They were running one train, with the second row roped off (these trains are already short). It took us more than a half hour to get on, and the dispatches were between 4-5 minutes each, not counting ride time. I don't know why they didn't add the second train right away, because the line was still full when we walked away and over the bridge. Kentucky Flyer was next, another ride added since my last visit to the park. This was running both trains and had quick operation, and was a walk-on. They were letting people re-ride, which was nice to see encouraged. Storm Chaser was the big one for me, and again was running two trains with very quick dispatches. It was still a walk-on for everything but the front row for my two rides. Great airtime and a very smooth inversions. This may be a favorite of the ten RMCs I've ridden. On a personal note, we decided to leave early as my foot was bothering me, and exited through the level pathway rather than brave the ramp. Glad to see this is still offered! The rides I saw were decently staffed, but it looked like there were a handful of closed rides and slides. T3, the Giant Wheel, and a number of slides were shuttered. I noticed two trash cans that were full even at opening (not sure if they had private events from the week before, but this trash smelled). That said, the employees that I encountered were friendly. We also used the "Pay Kids Price" promo on the website to save a bit of money on tickets, but I think most will get their money's worth out of the park for any age. I do wish they had a bit more to offer in terms of family rides and shows - a dark ride and indoor live entertainment is a must to add here in the future.

Gabby J.

Yelp
I had a great time. Lines were ridiculous and I wish there was a fast pass option but overall great time

Destiny H.

Yelp
We went for the pumpkin decorations & paired pumpkins for $5. The lines for rides were only about 10-15 minutes & the kids got candy for Halloween!

P A.

Yelp
Wouldn't go back. Paid almost 300 dollars for 3 tickets plus a cabana rental and still was forced to pay an extra 30 at the gate for state fair being there, which we had zero interest is seeing. Cabana was dirty, table was sticky, clearly they don't clean areas. Had to clean the table myself after asking for it to be cleaned. Would not recommend.

Yelp
The worst experience I have ever had at a amusement park. The parking is horrible and there are no servers to help the serves here is horrible, an over all a hot able experience. Wast of money.

Yelp
Very fun and mid sized theme park located in Louisville at the fairgrounds and by the Kentucky exposition center. Kentucky kingdom has had a love affair with the city of Louisville. It existed for years during my childhood and teen years (any people my age remember day 5 alive?). Then it disappeared for a few years and was caught in legal litigation or who owned what and what to do with the space. It was under the Six flags banner at one point and since then I feel like it has been sold a few more times. However, overall This is a fun theme park. With a really good mix of thrill rides and children's rides to keep The Who family happy and coming back. The hurricane bay while not for me (get way too crowded) is very fun and a cool attraction. I'm more of a lazy River kinda guy personally which they conveniently have as well. My personal favorites at the park are the different roller coasters (they change ownership and name so much I wouldn't be comfortable naming which ones) and the really cool water slides both for tubes and body slides. For me this is a nostalgic park but I don't feel it clouds my judgement. My kids love this place and the pricing isn't bad. Honestly if you live close get a season pass during the winter for lien $49.99 a piece and if you go twice you save money. I hope they eventually get the ownership stuff finally figured out and the park can stay in Louisville and remain open without any future hiccups.

Yelp
Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay in Louisville Kentucky. The park is located on the Kentucky State Fair grounds. The park has over 70 rides and attractions for all ages and a huge water park called Hurricane Bay. The site is 67 acres of land. Kentucky Kingdom & Hurricane Bay is a great park for family fun. They have so much to offer during your visit. From roller coasters, shopping, eating food or just laying in the lazy River at the water park. It's Louisville's number one family fun. Prices ranges from $39.99-$42.99 on weekdays and weekends. The hours are from 11am-7pm on weekdays and 10am-8pm on weekends. Season pass goes from $79.99 to $89.99 but they are cheaper during Christmas time. Operators are Herschend Family Entertainment which also operates Dollywood in Tennessee. Parking is everywhere around the front of Kentucky Kingdom. Price to park can be $10.00 to $20.00 depends on the day and all the events going on at the fair grounds. If you have a season pass to Kentucky Kingdom then parking is free. If you are dropping off people at the park, you still have to pay to get in the gates but you will get a refund. As soon you pay for parking, You drive right in the middle of the park. Like literally down the middle since the park is split from the road. So it's pretty cool to see all the roller coasters and rides before you get to the entrance. Make you feel excited even more to get your day started. After you park, You walk to the front gates where you get a security checkpoint to make sure no guest is carrying anything in their pockets or bags. Just make the park more safe! After you get done with security, You go into the gates and scan you ticket or season pass and the front gate admissions employees welcome you to Kentucky Kingdom with a smile. Makes you feel welcome like you are at home. After you interaction with the front gate employees, You see a huge sign with a beautiful fountain that says "Kentucky Kingdom & Hurricane Bay" Best spot for a photo shoot in the park. Definitely for all those social media influencers. After your photo, You have two ways to go. Left or right! Either way is fine since it's a big cycle in the front half of the park. The second half of the park is across the bridge where the water park and most of the major roller coasters are. Kentucky Kingdom has 5 major roller coasters. Lightning Run and Storm Chaser is the best coasters the park in my opinion. They have everything that a coaster should have during any coaster experience. The speed, airtime and intensity of them both. The duo is something you wouldn't want to miss out. Thunder Run is the old-traditional wooden coaster. The coaster makes you feel like your first wooden roller coaster again but the airtime is great on Thunder Run. Roller Skater and Kentucky Flyer are the family coasters of the park but don't miss out on Kentucky Flyer. That little coaster is no joke. They do however have another coaster in the back next to the water park but they did closed the coaster permanently this season (2023) Kentucky Kingdom also has so many thrill rides like Fearfall which is a 129 feet drop tower and Cyclos which is a swinging ride that goes in the air doing 360 degrees loop. Those two are my favorite thrill rides there. They also have a huge kids area with many rides! Don't forget to checkout all the other rides that are available in the park. The food just like any other amusement park out there. You have the traditional cheeseburgers, pizza, chicken tenders etc. But they did add a lot of food this season (2023) but I haven't got a chance to try them yet. They also added a meal plan for $28.99 this season. (2023) The water park is huge! They have many water slides and attractions for the whole family. They have two wave pools, two lazy rivers, two kids areas (which one is a toddler area) and many water slides! They have lockers for your stuff and food stands everywhere. One water slide is called "Deep Water Dive" is one of the world's tallest body slides! They do have a water coaster in the water park but it's permanently closed since 2022 I believe, which is unfortunate. You definitely have to check it out! The water park is a must for your visit. The park is clean and the employees are nice and seem like they love their job. Definitely the ride operators. They are so engaging that you just want to keep riding all day long. The only thing that seem they need to fix is a full deep clean for the bathrooms! They are not the best. Highly recommend the restrooms next to storm chaser! They are cleanest in the park. You thank me later. We recommend going on weekdays because there are no crowds and shorter lines for the rides! Overall 4.3/5

HsiaoCheng W.

Yelp
I liked this place. It was perfect for us and an 8 year old. Monday in July had no lines for the roller coasters. If you go right when they open don't wait in the lines for rides near the entrance like lightning run. They'll thin later in the day. Just go to the ones in the back and hit the ones near the entrance on the way out. The tornado slide in the water park did have a wait. We didn't try any of the water slides. The prices are reasonable for drinks. The staff isn't Disney staff. They're all kids. Yeah probably they hate working there but they got the job done. They weren't checking bags upon entry. Only selected individuals were asked to have their bags checked.

Wade L.

Yelp
They kicked my friend out and threw away my Birkenstock when I lost it. I would not recommend it

Yelp
Kentucky Kingdom this review has been a long time coming as I've been here 3 times but only one of these as been wile the park was open! My first two times I've came here it was for media days once for the Kentucky Flyer and the second for HallOScream event! During the media days it was nothing but love and appreciation for all of us as Kentucky Kingdom treated us like Queens & Kings as they didn't short on anything in fact they went above and beyond in every way possible to show us the best time they totally good it's for this that I am very thankful and appreciative to have attended these awesome events! Their staff is amazing and soo friendly Jesse who runs a ton of things here has been super helpful and very friendly every time I've encountered her as she's positive and loves the park! With me writing this review I also need to take the time to thank the owner of the park Ed Heart as this park wouldn't be here without him and he has done a great job at bringing it back to life in soo many ways they are doing it right here! So my visit to the park that wasn't for a media event was just as awesome as the park is very clean and has a great collection of rides for all ages from flat rides to some awesome coasters you can find it here! The waterpark part of it is interlocked in the middle of the park and is included with your admission so definitely take advantage of that on the hot days! Our tickets came with a drink wristband that gave us unlimited drinks at every location in the park this was very much so needed as it was in the 90's on this hot summer day! The food here has always been outstanding from everything they served us at the media event to my lunch purchase at their taco bar super flavorful and good quality all around here which is hard to find at some parks but they are doing it just perfect here keep up the flavorful goodness! The park itself is awesome and definitely a very underrated park when it comes to other ones in the country as they are doing it right here adding new rides and just staying amazing in many ways! Overall this is up there with my favorite parks I've ever been to it's for all the reasons that I will be looking forward to my next visit to this incredible park where I can't wait to see what the future will hold for them as are constantly growing with positive change!

Deanna W.

Yelp
Pretty good theme park in Louisville Kentucky!! Try lightning run the best rollercoaster there!

Axel Q.

Yelp
Very nice home theme park. I don't like roller coasters. What will they replace for T3? And needs more family rides.

Denise I.

Yelp
Overpriced, absolute filth, $12 to park in addition to outrageous, park fees, unsafe.

Josiel S.

Yelp
Zero stars. The attractions are very nice. I'll just list some points that made unhappy: -it took like 1 hour to get to the gates, because there's a lot of policemen and employees disturbing the order with cones, making caos on the area traffic. And we had TO PAY FOR PARKING. -no transportation from parking to the entrance. Children have to walk in the middle of cars looking for parking space. Not even side walk. -there is a scheme for you to pay $17 for a regular sized beer. Only this one was enough to rate 0 stars. -the food is terrible!! -the giant wheel is the biggest we've seen. But you never get there. Because the thing runs with only 4 cars occupied! There is like 50 of them. EMPTY , while there's a huge line. Never going back to this. Not even if they pay me for it.

Suzanne W.

Yelp
What a great day / night at pumpkin at Kentucky kingdoms . They did a great job entertaining the kiddos ..

Yelp
I'm always up for amusement, rides, water, thrill, and most importantly freebies! Over the weekend of September 11 and 12, 2021, Kentucky Kingdom offered free admission for healthcare professionals for the worker and up to 6 guests, that's 7 free admission tickets with the value of one ticket being about 40-50$ each. When I received the email notifying me of this, I knew I had to partake. Approximately 2 hour drive from Indy, We arrived at the park on a Sunday. The park opened at 10a and we arrived around 11a. At this time it wasn't that busy. You first have to go through a bag check and then go to the ticket line to retrieve tickets. The process went smooth. The lines to rides were short around this time so that was nice. One ride were in line had shut down due to someone vomiting, so we didn't get to ride that one. Some stuff was closed but there were still plenty of rides to enjoy and of course the water park. The average time we had to wait to get on a ride was about 30 minutes. The day we came, the weather was nice and hot. You are not allowed to bring food in to the park so we packed stuff and left it in a cooler in the car. If you leave the park, even just going to the parking lot, you have to repeat the entrance process by going through bag check again. Later in the day like 1p-2p, the line for bag check was a lot busier. They offer food and drinks in the park, but they are quite pricey. Rides of different levels are offered. Hurricane bay included a big pool that had waves periodically which the kids loved, seating but during busy times can get very limited, water slides, lazy river, and water play area. There were also more rollercoasters and rides in the Hurricane Bay Area. We stayed until closing at 6pm, didn't get to ride everything like I wanted but still had a great time. This is a nice amusement park for all ages and close to home. I really appreciated the free admission!

Timber D.

Yelp
This is such a trashy park. As in, literal trash everywhere. There was trash on the ground everywhere, trash floating in the pools, overflowing garbage bins, and exceptionally disgusting restrooms (full trash cans with stinky diapers & garbage left on the floors, gross stopped up sinks, empty soap dispensers). The waterpark wasn't too crowded, but the lines took forever because it's run so inefficiently. The lifeguards seemed like they were keeping a good attentive eye on the pools. Ride staff were friendly. Had to visit a first aid station for a bee sting and they took good care of my injured child. All in all, the experience as a whole was more frustrating than enjoyable.

Melea R.

Yelp
I want to give ky kingdom some love. We've had a lovely day. It's clean. The workers are kind and courteous. It's been a pleasure to visit. We've been able to jump back in line for a favorite rides. I want to come back next month for fireworks.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
This is a fun amusement park that's been a staple here in Louisville for mini mini years. It shut down for a little while it's called six flags for a while now it's back call to the kingdom like it used to be. Ice go here a lot when I was in middle school for sure and then my wife and I went a few times and I've gotten to take my oldest daughter and we had a great time as well it's definitely a fun place and I'm glad he's back in action

Yelp
We had fun here and the kids but the prices for food/drinks are absolutely insane. You're already paying $50 plus a ticket. Paying to park. Paying for games inside park. Also, this park is FILTHY. Bathrooms FILTHY. Probably the nastiest park I've been to. Way overly crowded, long wait lines for most rides. Oh also, security is non existent. I saw them check one bag and didn't even glance at anyone else walking by. Not ran properly at all.

Yelp
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! we spent 200$ & couldn't even get 4 people in. the $200 only got in 2 people. i repeat, 2 people 100$ each!!!?!??!? Hello, we paid $200 dollars (nothing) let me repeat, $200 dollars to obtain the unlimited tickets to commerce & join into the supposed Kentucky Kingdom fun but we were unfortunately unable to be gained access into the park today due to the unsupported & unwarranted rule that there is only an applied discount to the GOLD let me emphasize ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR EACH passes during the month of july. july only has discounted prices apparently. But the June passes have bring a friend free. Quite the contrary & opposite of the prevalent amazing deals & prices with Kentucky Kingdom. Very disappointed & saddened due to the unexplained experience & service given to us here at a kentucky kingdom. A lot was done to come & have a fun time with family & friends. Think before coming here, Much love!

Yelp
A complete and utter DUMPSTER FIRE!!!!! This is without a doubt the worst theme park I have ever visited. It is also the only one that I have found that does not improve the surrounding area. Last season 2021, I bought my family the season pass. That will never happen again. To begin. Security. There is none. At least not at the gates. The kid searching our bag placed his hands on top of our towels and just leaned against it. In the two minutes he stood there talking to the kid next to him, he never looked into my bag. Meaning he never actually searched it. Once inside, I saw more local Police and corrections officers than park security. To me. Security, should be invisible until needed. If they were to properly secure the entry points, then they may be able to accomplish this. Coming from a combat Veteran and prior law enforcement I saw all of the security issues, and there were many. Food. Pack your own food. Their food is equivalent to.... Well..... pure garbage. Not worth the price or wait. I stood in line for 45 minutes to get a cup of water. Meanwhile, I watched 3 kids (teens) cooking each order one at a time. Not mass producing chicken strips when that was the only thing on the menu aside from french fries and cheese nachos. They need an experienced manager working so that these kids get things taken care of in a timely manner. RIDES. Where do I start. Oh I know, only half were in operation the entire season. If, you are only able to operate half of the park, then you should cut the prices of tickets in HALF. A quarter of the rides not in operation were water rides. 100 degrees outside and the entire park is swimming shoulder to shoulder in the wave pool, because there is nowhere else to go. Park cleanliness. This is by far the dirtiest park I have seen, and places like Six flags, Busch Gardens, and Disney have way more people littering in their parks. With all of that being listed, I have one more rant. I refuse to accept COVID as a reason for any of these issues. Especially when the park was not practicing any of the mandates. Also one cannot blame COVID of professionalism, cleanliness, and employee attitude. Attitude was all I saw. Not one was smiling, not one was friendly, and not one employee (out of 5) could tell me why half of the park was shutdown. Oh and when I wrote to the park directly, I got ignored. Personally the owner needs to fire the entire management staff, because it is clear they cannot operate this park efficiently. When you have one employee who will not conform to standard. You can blame that employee. When it is all of the employees, it is a management issue. Poor leadership. This summer, my family will literally go anywhere else and have a better time.

Yelp
We came for their Halloween event which given the circumstances of rain was still lots of fun especially because there's not much competition when it comes for night Halloween activities for kids in the area. We were unsure of trick or treating/candy stations were going to be available due to lack of information online and through ads as well as general public information and for it being the last weekend of them being open/ the Halloween event but they had it. Not many candy stations and the ones they did have really only gave out one piece per kid. The staff were decent and we gave them grace given its was the Saturday before Halloween and understood that they would've rather been at a party than there (which fair and understandable) but some (food and beverage) were worse than others leaving guests standing around for 10-15 minutes waiting for simple things like pretzels. It was also a bit confusing as well what rides were open and which weren't not just due to the rain but in general. Overall you get what you paid for and it was cool to go and be able to do something for the kids for Halloween than nothing at all.

Yelp
I went to this theme park while I was on a school trip in the area. This was a national convention. Kentucky Kingdom was closed this evening for everyone except the club's visiting this area. They had special ticket prices and food prices. Everyone there had paid to be there and was with their club. The weather earlier that day had been storming and windy, but it had cleared up and we were told we could still go. When we got to the park, everyone got checked in and was excited. They informed us that only three attractions were open at the moment due to chances of rain and increasing wind speeds. There were hundreds of not thousands of people there. My friends and I had gotten on a few of the rides and were excited to get on the Lego move attraction next. Just after we sat down, the lights dimmed and the movie started for about 2 seconds. Please keep in mind we were in a sturdy building with walls and a roof. A woman came in and told us to at we were being evacuated, and told everyone to cover their heads and run to yet another strong building. When we got outside, the wind speeds had picked up, it was raining and hailing, and hundreds of people were running from every direction. One girl even fell and was trampled, resulting in a broken leg, which was not covered by the park. When we got to the storm shelter, we were able to reunite with the rest of our club on the bus and leave, however, there were people there until around 11pm (this was all happening around 7:30 ish, and we had been there for around an hour or so. Other important things to note: other people in my clubs were left on rides in there conditions, and other people, not workers, had to stop them. Also, Many people were told to just, and I quote, "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!" Additionally, most of the kids there (ages 11-14 or so) were without parents but instead had chaperones from their school or their friend's parents, including myself. Overall, I am appalled by the unprofessionalism displayed. The entire situation was extremely unsafe, and could have been avoided. I could not stress enough about how terrified I was with the only adult around me being my friends dad who I had me just few hours prior. I did not know what was happening, and was very scared. (Mid you, many people live hours away, and did not have their parents even in the same state with them). Overall, it seems like a very fun place. However, as far as safety goes, it is extremely unprofessional and not thought out.

Yelp
Factoring in the price and overall experience, the Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay combination is four stars. I recommend you spend the whole day here jumping from rollercoasters to the lazy river to the waterslides. Hurricane Bay on its own is still four stars. There is plenty to do at this water park, especially if you have kids in tow. Kentucky Kingdom on its own is three stars. The amusement park portion feels smaller, the rides seem short, and they don't really get your adrenaline going in comparison to other parks in the Midwest. Therefore, if you're planning a trip here, I recommend coming on a weekday and bringing your bathing suit.

Yelp
Went for the day to hang at the water park. First be aware that the $10 parking fee is not included in a one day admission. No food or drink is allowed in the park. So come prepared to spend money. We headed to the water park around 12.30 and there was not a chair to be had. If you want to store your belongings in a locker that will cost another $14 to $18 depending on the size you rent. So we had to lug our bag around and play in the water for short periods of time to keep an eye on our stuff. Food prices are high as well. I will say there were ample floats in the lazy River and you could stay on your float and go around as many times as you wanted. It was really crowded and there were long lines for rides and attractions. There is plenty of parking but you may need to walk a distance to get to the entrance. When we arrived at the park there were multitudes of people being herded into obscure lines and it seemed in no real fashion to get us all through metal detectors and have bags searched. It was a really hot day, so not a great experience.

Yelp
We did the two day experience. They advertise as you get the second day free, well thats actually false. it was 39.99 for the two day and 29.99 for just one day. So thats misleading. still a great deal for two days. unfortunately you have to pay $10 for parking each day. The park offers unlimited free soft drinks. We had a great experience and lots of fun at both parks. we went labor day weekend and there was literally litle to no wait for almost everything both days. I'd say we picked a great time to come. short lines + warm weather = great time

Yelp
Between a fair and an amusement park, this place gets 3 stars based solely on the pricing. The rides are not polished like what you'd find at a larger park like Disney or Six Flags and the low admission price has me believing that the park is a summertime babysitter for many low income families. The grounds were littered and the changing rooms at Hurricane Bay were pretty gross. The whole place just had a feeling of being unkempt and uncared for. The ground surface in the Hurricane Bay area is just foot blistering concrete. There aren't many people stationed around the park to welcome or guide you to lines, leaving you to guess where you're going. Signs are not there to tell you what you're about to ride for some of the water rides when it comes to lanes. There were a lot of lifeguards in the wave pool area though. Overall, I seriously doubt any of us in our two families will come back anytime soon. It was good enough for our short 4 hour visit to the park though.

Yelp
What an awful way to spend 20 bucks + tickets. I ended up going with my family. My son (4 years old) was unable to go on any water park rides. When asked, staff did not assist us in either finding rides appropriate for my son nor where to find inner tubes to go on the one water slide that he could ride. We spent 3 hours there before riding any rides. I will not be going back anytime soon. I will be spending my money at holiday world.

Yelp
Kentucky Kingdom is great for people 4ft and above (because that's basically the height limit to every fun ride). Despite there only being 5 roller coasters since T3 closed there all fun (except if you want a headache sitting in the back on Thunder Run). Amazing thrill rides and the water park (in my opinion) is the best part of the whole experience with great water slides and the wave pool is the best part (especially during the Big Kahuna), great for cooling off on hot summer days in Louisville.

Yelp
I have a love hate relationship with Kentucky Kingdom. I'm glad Louisville has their own theme park but this is not as grand as Holiday World or Kings Island. Sunday was the first time I have been since it opened so it's been about 6 years. The park has come a long way. They have added more coasters and they try to make sure the park is cleaner compared to when it was 6 flags. I personally don't think the price is worth it. Yes they have added a lot more things but it's within limitation due to the airport. The average ticket price is 45 a person and the price of food is expensive for the quality you get. Kentucky kingdom is a good addition to Louisville but I don't picture myself coming here often unless there is a discount

Yelp
I give KK and HB a 3 star for multiple reasons Im a seasoned coaster enthusiast and this park operations are so poor id hate to see this park on a busy day. Multiple rides large were closed majority of the day T3, lightning run and Kentucky flyer were all down for a large portion of the day. Lightning run was closed nearly all day which was a huge let down. Not to mention a lot of flat rides and water slides were closed with no prompt at the front gate that these weren't open. Some rides have signs " only open Saturday/Sunday " i just wish i knew that the park was short staffed so i could've plan to come on a weekend Also the rules for riding rides in swimsuits are very dumb and got into a mild argument with a ride operator because he told me that my girlfriend couldn't ride because her back was too exposed. At this point we already road two of the coasters that were open. Also if theres going to be a no swimsuit showing rule you shouldn't have to sit in a wet seat either you should be required to be dry. But thats also silly considering the water park is surrounded by the theme park. I went to guest services to ask why certain rides were closed nearly all day. Unfortunately they didn't have any explanation for rides that were closed early or why some rides didn't open at all.

Yelp
This. Is. SUMMMMMEERRRRRR!! *sparta kicks winter into wave pool* Went here all the time as a kid, but it's so much better as an adult. And since then, after being closed for a while, it's back open with new rides. Favorite coaster: T3 (formerly T2), where you hang from the track. Favorite water ride: lazy river. Grab a tube and ride all day. ALL DAY. Do the water park first, if you can. Then use the coasters to dry off. Definitely worth investing in the season pass. Only a little more than a day pass for a summer of fun.

Yelp
After quarantine my daughter and I had a bit of cabin fever and since we could not travel far we chose to go to Louisville area and spend a few days. This park was operating at about half of what it normally would. there was no social distancing in the hurricane bay area though, which we did not expect to be open so we did not bring suits and go in. Rides were quickly moving through the lines and social distancing was enforced. We rode a good bit of rides and ate a few of the offerings like burgers, fries and ice cream. typical park food quality and prices. I did however LOVE the alcoholic drink availability! that was a nice surprise. Cant wait to return once the world stops freaking out.

Yelp
Since my apartment complex doesn't have a pool, this is my go-to spot to cool off in the summer. I love the pool area, especially the smaller wave pool. It would be nice to have a parking lot and park entrance for guests who are strictly going to Hurricane Bay versus having to walk across the entire park. The past few years, I've gotten a season pass and it's definitely worth the money. I'm there at least one weekend day a month from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The park is always clean and the employees pleasant. I do wish you could bring in at least one sealed water bottle. Look for deals on the website or through Meijer/Kroger. I sometimes grab lunch while I'm at the park and it's always good and with the season pass, I save a bit of money. There is a bar area as well. Overall, I always enjoy my day at the park but there would be some conveniences that would make it even better.

Yelp
I love the waterpark at Kentucky Kingdom so much to do. I have a season pass and all I do is the waterpark the drinks are $1 dollar and parking is free!!
