Review: Spookywoods 2025
Spookywoods has always been known for its massive sets and immersive atmosphere, but this year didn’t quite hit the same high mark. The visuals were still impressive, yet the energy and fear factor that usually define this haunt seemed weaker than before. While it had bright spots, it didn’t fully live up to expectations. Here’s what we thought:
Cast/Actors: 5.5/10
The actors stayed in character and gave solid effort, but timing was off in several areas. Many scenes lacked coverage, which made sections of the haunt feel empty and quiet.
Costumes: 9/10
The costumes were well done and detailed, standing out as one of the haunt’s strongest points. Each look fit the setting perfectly. A few weren’t scary, but they were visually impressive.
Customer Service/Organization: 10/10
Customer service was excellent. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout the night. Signage was clear and made it easy to find everything.
Decorations/Sets: 7/10
The sets were well-crafted and matched each scene perfectly. A few areas could’ve used better lighting or more props for depth, but overall, the design quality remained strong and visually immersive.
Entertainment: 4.5/10
Entertainment was disappointing compared to last year. The midway had fewer actors, less energy, and no standout performances. The witch who danced with guests last year was barely there to dance, and the fog and music weren’t as powerful or exciting.
Scare Score: 4/10
The scares fell flat this time. Most were predictable, and the actors relied too much on staring instead of actual surprise. With the congo line ruining timing and few actors to build tension, the haunt lost its edge.
Walk-through Time: 50 minutes
Overall: 5.5/10
Spookywoods still shines with great sets, costumes, and friendly staff, but the energy and scares were missing this season. It’s worth checking out for the visuals alone, but hardcore haunt fans might leave wanting more.
