First time dining at Kettle & Tin and we thought it was a great experience. On arrival, a very friendly staff member greeted us and advised us to take a seat at a table outside. Once seated, we placed our orders for coffee, one iced latte on soy and one large skinny cap. We both loved and appreciated the perfectly frothed milk, so creamy and light. The soy iced latte was refreshing. Food wise, it took us a little while to decide as there were quite a few items on their menu we wanted to try. We ended up with their poached eggs on toast with mushrooms on the side and Chicken ‘n’ Waffles. Starting with the few things I enjoyed, I thought the chicken was well seasoned and flavorful. It was juicy and tender on the inside. The waffles were crunchy on the edge, just the way I like my waffles. The syrup drizzled on top was evenly distributed and complimented both the chicken and waffles. Despite the syrup, the waffles remained their shape and didn’t go soggy. Now let’s talk about a couple of things I was not impressed with. First of all, even though I appreciated the spiciness, which was a nice addition and really woke up my taste buds, it was just a bit too much for me. It would have been much more enjoyable if it had been toned down a bit. I also had a feeling that the chicken was prob burned (correct me if I’m wrong). Almost all pieces were dark in color and slightly charred here and there, which made the chicken taste a bit bitter. In general, I enjoyed my chicken and waffles but just wish it had been a bit less spicier. That’s why I’m giving 3 and a half out of 5 for the chicken and waffles. Apart from my dish, I had a bit of the mushroom, which I thought was quite nice. The service was amazing and both staff who served us were very attentive and friendly. All interactions were great. Will come back for brunch again. Thanks for the pleasant experience.

Went to their chili cook off. You definitely have a returned customer. Everyone involved in the cook off was warm and inviting. Staff were great and the atmosphere was so welcoming. Everyone was in a happy mood and just wanted to eat chili. Band on stage were great. Can't wait for your next event

Very friendly staff, open atmosphere, can seat big groups. We came for breakfast on Saturday 10am and it was not too busy. Coffee was great and food was fresh. I enjoyed the Buddha bowl, crispy haloumi, crispy Kale, great veggies variety but the vinaigrette grette was too strong for me. My husband had the breakfast burger which was pretty standard in a good way :)

Nice place for breakfast, interesting selection. Great service and coffee. The only things is that they didn't mention that toast with sausage will have just one peace of bread which I found a bit ridiculous especially for the price. Overall 3/4 of us were very happy and full after breakfast, one left with a bit more space inside his belly.

Absolutely loved it! Such a cutie little place to have a date. The food was delicious but I suggest going there for a light meal as their portion sizes are small. Definitely recommend.

It is relaxed, comfy and airy here, and made me feel like I was visiting a good friend's place. There is a wide range of dishes and great vegetarian options. I had the Budda bowl and it was plentiful, fresh and delicious. I also had a very tasty berry smoothie. It was a pleasure to be able to catch up with my friend in a peaceful venue where we didn't have the challenge of talking with the intrusion of loud music. The service was genuinely friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning.

Drinks came out first & although we appreciated the use of paper straws, it felt like we were shortchanged for the iced latte - the smoothie was filled to the brim but the iced latte looked like someone had taken a huge gulp out of it already. Smoothie was ok but wasn't cold. Chicken & waffles dish was disappointing as the waffle was not heated & tasted quite bland - like it was prepackaged, opened & whacked on the plate. With the Three Little Baos, the dish is vegetarian but you can also choose to have a meat option (chicken/pork belly). We went for the chicken & it was yummy but the dish is very small - probably an entree/side dish - not worth the $18 price tag. Cosy cafe with a good view at the back of the shop. Overall ok.

1.Coffee was great 2. The Eggs Hunters taste good. 3. Cornbread waffle was great. But fried Kaaraga has no seasonings, dry and not crispy.

Yelp
I had really high hopes for brunch at K&T but left feeling a touch disappointed (as did the wallet...) Firstly, and most brutally, if a classic Bloody Mary is on the menu, PLEASE make sure it's CLASSIC. Port wine? ‍‍‍ The Vietnamese omelette was odd for breaky, but tasty thanks to the dressing, sadly the pork was hard as rocks. The omelette was a bit so-so. The mushrooms had made the eggs a weird grey colour, and was a tad over cooked. The total bill was a bit of a sucker punch after the food... I'm sorry to say, but I probably won't head back - especially when the brunch game in Brisbane (espesh Paddo) is so strong.

Yelp
One day Pandemonium was there, the next day it was gone and the converted house on Given Terrace that once housed this well known café was an empty shell of its former self. That is, until the three musketeers behind New Farm's Ponycat took it under their wing and with a slick of paint turned it into a breakfast-cum-café-cum-cocktail restaurant we shall now know as Kettle & Tin. Not just content with being a run of the mill establishment, Kettle & Tin boast eight (yes you read right, 8) varieties of Bloody Mary's, a wickedly delicious parmesan pan fried gnocchi and for breakfast a sinful poached pear with fig muesli and mascarpone. While I'm yet to experience the full dinner menu, I did enjoy breakfast here on a wintery Brisbane day, ordering what could be considered a predictable avocado on sourdough which was pretty wonderful - trust me, avocado on toast can be bad! My partner in breakfast crime did try the poached pears and he was so busy eating I think it all translated to, "this is delicious, don't you dare ask if you can try some, I want it all for myself." The interior is casual yet rustic (think old doors from Queenslanders on the wall as decoration) and the influence of Asa's (one of the three musketeers) creative spark is evident as an ongoing art piece on one wall of the café. There's a vibe and atmosphere abuzz here already and with nothing like this bar along this section of Paddington's famous strip, I sense its about to become popular for the breakfast, cocktail and food-loving crowds.

Yelp
Hard to believe that 7 reviews in nobody's bitten the bullet and given this place 5 stars. But then again, I won't do it either. We chose Kettle and Tin for an early lunch with friends over the weekend, partly based on good reviews here. The place has a relaxed vibe and a cool (as in breezy & artsy) interior. Being there a little past 12 noon, we opted for the drinks menu and chose the regular BM, Goddamn Mary, and Mojitos. All seemed rather light on the "good stuff", but the Mojitos were fresh and BMs nice and spicy. The goddamn, with its smokey flavor, was the clear favorite for three of us (the 4th member of our group, however, called it "BBQ sauce with a straw". Ouch). The drinks seemed to take forever to come out (maybe the bartenders where busy whipping up milkshakes for the hipper-than-thou late-brunch-crowd?). The food on the other hand was surprisingly quick: we ordered duck salads, a Barra burger, and the pulled pork; the latter two with chips and aioli. As you can see in my pics, it all looked yummy, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The Barra was described as 'a bit muddy' by one, and the fish (in quantity and taste) got a bit drowned out by the rest of the burger's contents. Still delicious though. We chose the duck salad partly because of an earlier photo of this dish here on Yelp, and it was a similar visual feast with a range of textures and colors. The salad was really great and the duck had a nice flavor to it. Pretty tough meat though, although probably not unusual for this bird. The pulled pork sandwich was excellent. Not as subtle as the salad, but the combination with the dressing/salad in the bun was fantastic. All in all, a very enjoyable place for lunch. This place has put me in the mood to try similar places around town. Next time, I would probably come for the post 3PM menu, so that I can try the Confit Duck Nachos (with a refreshing pale ale?), which sound totally yummy.

Yelp
A rainy Thursday in Brisbane and I had an hour or so to wait around for my sister to finish an appointment. Finally I thought, finally I am in the right area to try something in Paddington. Pulled up at the first park I found and whipped out the Yelp app and this lil' guy was in my bookmarks ready to go and I'd only gone and parked directly opposite it. It was mid-afternoon so I wasn't in the mood for lunch or anything too heavy, just coffee and maybe a cake. Coffee was a flat white on almond milk and was excellent. In terms of cake there wasn't a sweet cabinet but there was .. one muffin left! Lucky last Raspberry & Double-Chocolate (white & milk) muffin was mine all mine! It was heated up and SO yum, I wasn't expecting much honestly, but it was delicious. The perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up for a rainy day. I sat by the window and it was pretty much empty inside, read a magazine and people watched for a while. There's a good menu with plenty of variety and all day breakfast is always a plus in my books. The inside of Kettle & Tin has a great vibe and (not that I go out often) would be a great spot to have a meal and a cocktail jug with some pals. The staff were lovely and I'd definitely come back to try more from Kettle and Tin.

Yelp
Rattle my tin! Me and my sister stopped in here for a meal after having decided against others options nearby. The place is very trendy on the outside and simple and inviting on the inside. We were warmly greeted on our arrival by one of the waitresses who was more than polite. The atmosphere was pretty cool and looking around you could appreciate certain artwork within eye shot. We decided to share the salt and pepper squid as a starter. Let me tell you this was AMAZING. Light, fresh, tender and ohh so tasty. From there we decided on Morton Bay Bug on a bed of watercress with sour dough bread a special on that night. This was quite exquisite and I am still licking my lips. My sister went with the Fish of the Day being a nz variety with potato, watercress, lightly pickled beetroot and celeriac. The fish serving was a little smaller than expected but still delightful. Also having requested to substitute the potatoes with more of the side vegetables, this was acknowledged but not actually acted on. A few minor blips but overall a quite pleasant experience.

Yelp
Amazing service and delicious iced chai. They even offered me a bag of ice because my knee was hurting. Great ambiance.

Yelp
I'm really torn over Kettle and Tin. I want to love it; great background music, wonderful taste in art on the walls, enthusiastic and lovely staff. But the peanut butter milkshake tasted like a spoonful from a jar stirred into milk, and the BLAT was a very average sandwich for the price. The only culinary exception I've found after my three visits is the Eggs Benedict. Perhaps the best in Brisbane? I'm sure I'll end up here for a lunch in the future and the benny is what I'll be having. It's good enough for ALL times of day.

Yelp
I really loved this place - the light breezy atmosphere, the ongoing artwork on the walls, the cute little bar (gosh how I can imagine smashing G&Ts on the deck here), the menu with a nice leaning towards porky goodness... mmm pork. Alas, I was here for breakfast so had the Avo on toast (it's my benchmark dish) and have to say it was a pretty good rendition with some marinated goats cheese and a big wedge of lemon on the side. Avo + Lemon = BFF Next time I'll be here for the famed sandwiches (apparently the Chef is some whizz-bang sandwich making champion). The cider pulled pork has my name written all over it.

Yelp
Our breakfast was good. We had the eggs benedict, which looked tiny on the plates but OHMYGOD so fulfilling. The English muffins were yum and the eggs were poached perfectly. I had mine with their house-cured gravlax, which I loved. My boyfriend, the pickier one of us, had his with bacon, which he also liked. His complaint? Using watercress in their dish, and apparently the sauce wasn't tasty enough. (I agree about the watercress, I probably would have liked spinach better, but I loved the sauce!) He had his usual ice mocha, which was too sweet for me. I had an ice coffee, which was not sweet and totally perfect (I posted a picture of it on Instagram, which prompted Kettle and Tin to follow me on there). My first impression of the place was that it resembled an oversized dining room of a family home. It was very homely. The windows don't actually overlook anything interesting, but I wasn't complaining. It was pretty. Will probably try lunch and/or cocktails here at some point.

Yelp
I agree with all the other Yelpers. I've been plenty of times and never knocked off my feet. Just pleasantly surprised at the great food and efficient service. Try the Banh Xeo for breakfast. Asian breakfasts are underrated. Crispy eggy crepes with prawn, pork, plenty of Thai/Vietnamese herbs and lots of fish sauce. Peanut butter and chocolate milkshake sounded lush. But was a little disappointing.

Yelp
We found K&T to be average with food, appalling with service. I'm well accustomed to the Australian food service industry, but this was on another level. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and they were okay, nothing to write home about. Making the waffles out of cornbread was unique and the taste was okay, but I was left pretty unsatisfied, being served half of a waffle. It's the cheapest part of the dish, yet they feel the need to shortchange it. And it didn't even come with syrup. What kind of imbecile serves waffles without syrup ‍ The chicken was nice, great spicing. The sauce was bland, no taste. Because the portions were so small, I ordered a second round. After eating half of the chicken I realized it was very undercooked, like not cooked in places. I like chicken still a bit pink, but this was sashimi. I brought up my concern with the waiter, who spoke to the kitchen, who informed me that some of the bits close to the bone might be undercooked. Okay, bro, I get it. Some of the pieces might be a little undercooked, but this was completely uncooked. I didn't order a side of salmonella with my no syrup waffles. I spoke to a waitress and she said she would talk to the kitchen. So in effect, no one cared that they might have just given me food poisoning. Thank you sir, that'll be $140. I'm not one to make a fuss, but come on, FFS. I couldn't eat half the meat on my plate because you didn't cook it right. Own up to it, and make it right. I've already eaten half a piece of raw chicken. No, I don't want you to make another dish for me, I'm already upset. What I want is for you to get me a manager that will understand how to remedy the situation, instead of brushing it off. I realize that Australia isn't a tipping culture, and there is zero incentive for the wait staff to do anything other than put your order in, but for God's sake have a little integrity and initiative. We will not be eating here again, nor will we endorse it.

Yelp
Kettle and Tin is a favourite of mine for a quiet afternoon beverage. The food I've tried has been outstanding (the pork belly fries are literally fried pieces of pork belly!) and I'm working my way through the bloody mary menu. The huge speakers for the band are a little overkill though? We had to move outside just to hear each other speak.

Yelp
I've only been twice so far to Kettle and Tin: both times for Brunch, thus that is what this review will concern. I'm only new to exploring the Paddington/Latrobe Tce area, so I'm still excited by the atmosphere of the area. Kettle and Tin is helping shape and define the vibe I now expect. The area is quite large on the inside and if you can, get a seat at the back to have a great view out over Paddington. Now to the important part: food and service. The food is good. Not great, but good. The eggs benedict is quite good. They haven't drowned it completely in hollandaise sauce, which in my opinion is important. I would recommend that from all the menu items. Elsewise, you can configure your own eggs breakfast, any way with an assortment of sides. The coffee is better than most as well, and would be more than content to sit here on a Sunday morning and watch the world go by. The service leaves something to be desired. The staff aren't unfriendly or unhelpful, though perhaps due to how busy it has been both times, I didn't see a lot of them. By no means do I want them in my face, but sometimes its nice to be able to grab a staff member to get that extra cup of coffee you need after a big Saturday night. The food and drinks also took a while to come as well, so keep that in mind if you're in a hurry. Kettle and Tin can count me in as a fan and I do look forward to my next weekend outing there for breakfast, though I'm very keen to try Lunch/Dinner and cocktails! Any takers?

Yelp
First yelp review! Okay so overall great experience at Kettle & Tin. Went there seeking a nice brunch experience during my time in Brisbane. The food and drinks did not disappoint. Everyone in my party of 7 enjoyed their meals and the mimosas were a crowd favorite! The only negative would be the service being on the slower side which could just be since I'm used to NY efficiency, so I recommend ordering a drink before you finish your first. I would definitely come again when I'm not in a rush!

Yelp
This place blows. Store-bought "vintage" fit-out makes the interior look like another Paddington mature-lady's gift shop and the food is overpriced and tasteless. I've unfortunately had to eat here twice for business meetings and felt ripped off both times. My most recent experience (and hopefully last) included rubbery, wan calamari and "BBQ Wings" that may have been marinated for five minutes after we placed our order. Fair enough, there are plenty of crap eateries in Brisbane (Paddington even) what singles this place out are their beer prices. I almost fell off my stool when I saw a bottle (STUBBY) of Brooklyn Lager for $10!! Fair enough, that's an imported beer.. I fell off my stool for real when I saw the draft beer prices.. $12 for a single pint of Burleigh Bitter... a domestic beer from the GOLD COAST!.. insane. The more I think about this place the more i'm sure that it's a practical joke played on inner-city types who enjoy being ripped off in ersatz bohemian surroundings. This place is a joke.

Yelp
This used to be a favourite lunch spot but it must have changed ownership or something. The wagyu burger was the driest most overcooked piece of grey mince I have seen in many years. They didn't ask how I wanted it cooked so I expected the usual juicy meat burger, pink and moist and instead, this little lump of concrete. No one asks how your meal is as was the case in the past. The pulled pork bun was also different - meat was good but the coleslaw was just painted on. Sadly after that experience I will not be frequenting this place anymore and can't recommend it.

Yelp
Atmosphere was great and unpretentious, menu was original and delicious (breakfast / lunch) and my tea on milk was made to perfection! Will be back for a dinner sometime

Yelp
Pretty stock standard fare, nothing seemed to jump out off the menu demanding to be ordered. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and the coffee was good. But service was not great and they were not accommodating to making any changes on the menu and not many gluten free options apart from the pay extra to make ur toast gf ho hum. I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Loved it.. Great little place.. Just sad that just because we ordered drinks.. Sat here chatting, having a great time, they asked us to give up our table because we were here a little too long. However, there's many more empty tables ard, yet we were asked to leave. Maybe it's an Australian thing...

Yelp
Excellent food and great atmosphere! Ordered the Wagyu beef burger and chocolate brownies for lunch.
