Kettle Cove State Park

One of the cutest coves in southern Maine! Next to crescent beach state park. Mix of individuals, families, small groups and commercial fishermen. Walk by trails and rocky coastline to explore. Don’t forget to drop your fee in the box and keep the park clean and welcoming for all!

Great place! There is plenty of parking, a couple of port-a-potties plus showers. A place to rent kayaks & several benches before heading down to the beach. The park is kept clean and has several easy walking trails. There are also swings for the kids to play on and tucked up amongst the walking trails are little areas that have a feel of seclusion with basic grills and picnic tables if you plan to make a day at the beach.

I loved combing the beach and then exploring the paths through the brush to find a beautiful rocky outlook spot. Came back later in the day to watch the sunset from the same spot!

What a lovely beach! We went to take a tour of the tide pools, then brought out the beach toys and played in the sand for a couple of hours. Bath rooms are close. Great place!

Fantastic Maine state park, small but nicely maintained, limited parking keeps the small beach un-crowded, nice walking paths through and seaside scrub forest. Definitely worth the time to explore!

Great place to lay a towel and relax on the beach, or even take a short hike. Pets are allowed in certain areas, just not the beach..

Nice sun in summer here but a bit windy. Many seagulls roaming on the beach cracking shell. Saw one took shell to watching in the water.

Such a great spot with its trails and beach and cliff views. Be mindful of some poison ivy up in the trails. They do have bathrooms which is great. Know that on a beautiful day it can get packed real fast with parking. Forcing you to circle around or park at crescent beach and make the walk - which I’ve seen done.

We love Kettle Cove, it's clean and not too big, which means it typically isn't too crowded. There is a cute beach area, that is very typical of our state, seaweed, sticks rocks and some sand. When the tide goes, out, it's pretty amazing to walk out onto the mudflats and see some of the ocean life that usually covered during low tide. The beach is protected by rocks on each side, so there aren't usually waves. Given the characteristics, it's not crowded with people that usually go to the larger beaches in the southern Maine which is why we love it. We typically see artists, readers, families and friends enjoying quiet picnics by the ocean on the nice green area, people enjoying the dedication benches staring out quietly at the water or having wonderful conversations. Around sunset in the summer, it's common to see photographers with couples, engaged, in wedding attire, with new babies, family photos. It's so picturesque - I don't blame them. The park fees should be deposited in the metal receptacle just before the beach area. PLEASE DO NOT forget to place your money in the bin before you leave. Parking area is small and so it's not always possible to find a spot, but when you can, it's a lovely place to be.

We have enjoyed the drive around Cape Elizabeth in the past, but this was the first time we stopped at this beautifully situated and serene park. The view of the cove, rocks, lobster boats and beach at Crescent State Park is quiet nice. A perfect place to rest awhile on one of the park benches before continuing on exploring the cape.
