There are three Ketut’s properties in Ubud: the B&B, the Cottage, and the one in Penestanan. Since the last one isn’t listed on TripAdvisor, I’m leaving my comment here. Hopefully, one day Penestanan will have its own page for reviews.|I stayed at the Penestanan villa for two nights a few weeks ago. The villa is spacious, with a private pool and a kitchen. It faces the rice fields, offering a very peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast isn’t provided, but there are plenty of good eateries within walking distance.|Cars cannot access this area directly, so you need to call the villa staff to help carry your luggage by motorbike and ride you to the villa. You can walk there yourself, but I recommend letting the staff handle the bags.|During my stay, it rained almost the entire day, so I couldn’t use the pool—such a pity. Still, if I have the chance, I’d love to come back and stay for more days. The price is affordable and definitely worth the money.

This is a very nice and quaint hotel with authentic Bali vibes, lots of greenery and nice big rooms decorated in Balinese architecture style. The family run hotel has a small pool and rooms with forest like views. It is well maintained and has all basic amenities except a hot water kettle in the room. It is essentially a bed and breakfast and the breakfast is basic with set menu which has to be pre ordered a day before. The location is good as it is within walking distance to Ubud Palace and main shopping area of Ubud. Also attractions like famous elephant temple and rice terraces are within half hour driving distance in a cab. A nice place to stay and explore the area of Ubud in Bali.

We arrived and unfortunately there was a problem with our room so we were moved to a different location site. Having selected the place initially for its location this was a shame. We returned the following day and were given a much smaller room than the one we booked based on the photos online. The room was also in poor condition with a broken mosquito net, lots of cobwebs and bugs and a number of windows without curtains which meant it was too light in the morning. The staff kindly accommodated our request to move rooms (again) so the following day we moved for our final 2 nights. Even this room was dusty with cobwebs and smelled damp. The rooms were disappointing. Unfortunately to add to this breakfast also arrived 30 minutes after the time we had selected. Overall we would say the location was good for tourism, the staff were very kind however it was all a bit rough around the edges.

This place was a delight. We got a beautiful Balinese cottage with incredible carvings and surrounded by lots of plants. The place was clean and aircon worked a treat. The staff were really helpful as the airport had lost our bags, and they were helping us to get them back. The only part that I wouldn’t fuss over was their breakfast, we ended up going to get breakfast afterwards.

Such a great place to stay in Ubud. It was a wonder location to everything, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and beautiful garden. The ‘spa’ was a nice touch for massages as well - so relaxing. Honestly this was one of the better spots and a great price for what they offer. The breakfast was delicious with great options, and they give you bottled water everyday. You can also rent scooters here and get then to help you with. Setting up yoga classes and tours. The only issue I had was they let their dog continuously bark at night. But other than that, loved my stay here :)

Currently a guest at Ketut’s, and it is wonderful in every single way. A nestled b&b in the heart of Ubud, with traditional Balinese experiences and culture riddled throughout. Everything you need for Ubud Centre is within walking distance, and otherwise, Ketut can connect you with local drivers at an affordable rate. Breakfast is included everyday, and there are many options with front desk for day-trips, massage (on-site) and Kekak fire dance on Sunday/Thursday. The staff are hospitable and so kind. The atmosphere is peaceful. The amenities are clean. Sure, there are geckos and critters from time to time… but it is Indonesia! What do you expect? We are in nature, and blessed to be so. Highly recommend this stay to everyone I know. It is an absolute pleasure to be here and I am grateful I got to experience my first trip to Bali here. We will be returning!

On our first stop in Bali we stayed 3 nights in Ketut‘s place. The atmosphere was very kind and quiet and the family owners were so nice.

A lovely place to stay in walking distance from the centre of Ubud. Our room overlooking the ravine was a large size, with a comfortable bed and mosquito net. The room aircon was not very powerful and we needed to leave this on day and night to keep the room at an acceptable temperature. The bathroom had a large bath tub, with shower access in the tub. Pool towels are not provided. The pool was a welcome respite. Fresh water bottles were supplied daily. The complimentary breakfast included fruit, fruit juice, tea or coffee and a choice of main. The banana pancakes were delicious. The staff were very helpful. It was a lovely quiet oasis. Good value for money. I recommend this as a value for money stay that is close to the centre of town.
