To start, the venue is beautiful, our experience left a lot to be desired. We purchased the Keuka Lake wine tour pass and one of our tastings was at Keuka Springs. Arrival was very nice with welcome sip of champagne and we were told it would be a 25 minute wait for our tasting which was no problem at all for our group of 5. We spent $40 of four glasses of wine, we were hungry and decided to order from their food truck. The food took longer than 25 minutes so by that time our tasting session was available. Not knowing the "rules" about bringing food to the bar we took it with us and set it on the bar. The bartender, Gail was rude, told us we would have to leave our tasting if it gets busy because we were taking up to much space with our one tray that was directly in front of us and schooled us on the "no food allowed rule during the tasting." We began, finished our food and the hostess that greeted us came behind the bar, noticed the tray on the bar and at the same time I noticed her eyes bulged out of her head in disgust. I asked if there was a problem, to which she replied "no." I went to speak to the young manager and presented the situation to her about the negative comments/vibes from her staff, to which she stood there and stared at me. I asked her how we should have handled the situation differently; thrown out our food, canceled the tasting? Eventually, she offered a solution...we have to do better at timing our food service with our tasting schedules, but no apology. We just wanted to have fun, drink wine and to be treated respectfully.
