Kewpie’s offers a delightful experience of traditional Bengali food in a cozy, homely setting. The restaurant feels like it's inside a house, with dim lighting, handicrafts, and antiques adding to the charm. The food presentation in clay utensils is perfect for Instagram! We ordered the combo thali, which had both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. The vegetarian dishes like luchi, dal, shukto, and begun bhaja were flavorful, and the non-veg options—fish paturi and mangsho—were authentically Bengali. The dessert, mishti doi and sondesh, was a sweet way to end the meal. However, the service was quite slow (about 30 minutes), and while the food was delicious, the portion sizes felt a bit small for the price. Overall, it’s a must-try for anyone looking to experience authentic Bengali cuisine, though opinions might differ between locals and visitors.

I loved the food and the service was excellent. Lentils and potato curry, part of a set, we perfect with the round puffed bread that came with it. They served a tomato puree as well with lentil cracker that I would have never have identified as Indian, very sweet and cool, almost Italian flavoring, but excellent taste and aperitif. Mutton curry, small bowl which was plenty, as well as a piece of fried fish finished the meal off, except for the yogurt like sweetened dessert, also very good. Overall very pleased with the meal and highly recommended.

This restaurant serves authentic Bengali cuisines. Great atmosphere. We took 950 thali there they served mutton chicken with two fish items. Daab Chingri highly recommended. Only mutton they provided was not good like they just served cold curry. I will not recommend that one.

Really enjoyed my lunch here. The food, the ambiance, the staff behaviour everything was nearly perfect. It is a nice cozy place, they have retained the vintage style of the interiors and the food they serve is also very well presented. One can reserve table here over phone. If you are looking for a home style Bengali thali and have time for a laid back lunch or dinner this is the perfect place for you. Definitely recommended.

Quite disappointed with them this time around. 1) The food arrived 1 hour 15 minutes post ordering. 2) The rice served in our Thalis were cold & we had to send it back & wait 15 more minutes to get only a lukewarm one. 3) The servings in the Thali was inconsistent too. Some had saag, some didn’t. So they provided it in a bowl later & was dead cold. The fish fry, shukto & the bhetki paturi was good though. The Manager apologised multiple times, provided complimentary “sandesh” too, which we appreciated, but one cannot mess it up multiple times in one occasion. That’s a bit too much for one’s appetite for food or the restaurant.

Best known for authentic Bengali cuisine served in traditional style. Ambience takes us 100 years back to give extraordinary feel which adds more taste to the food. Economically priced and courteous staff's.

So this was the highlight of my trip to Calcutta after over a decade. This is a family run, slightly upmarket, authentic Bengali food place cooking up a storm of flavors in every meal. The spread is wholesome and includes most of the things you would expect from a Bengali meal. This place is the ground floor of a house converted into a beautiful restaurant. The food is outstanding and will leave you craving for more even when your stomach can't take any further. This is hands down a gem of a find. Will be returning here for sure on my subsequent trips.
