Wow everything! First time here. There wasn’t anything that wasn’t perfect. I paid with my credit card which was nice. But the food and service are the stars of this place. We found this place because it caters to meat eaters and vegetarians. My wife and I loved the burgers and fries, but it was the drinks that was a nice surprise as the ginger beer was really cool to try and it was very tasty, and the vanilla milkshake was amazingly delicious and the best I’ve ever tried. It was a nice evening catching up with friends. The others loved their meals too and are excited to come back. This place is definitely worth checking out and is one of my favorite Taipei restaurants now.

Our first time here on a Sunday evening and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Highly recommend this burger joint to get your fix. Thank you for the kind service and understanding of kids needs. The young Indonesian lady was very patient with us. We were so happy that they had vegan buns available, this is really hard to find in burger joints. Our kids with dairy allergies really appreciated it a lot. We had a variety of burgers, classic, American, mushroom Swiss, fried chicken, bacon cheese, all were good. No complaints. Fries were good too. We wanted to order the milkshake but got too full from the brownie so we’ll get next time.

Cute little burger spot located near GuTung night market. They have a variety of burger options including veggie, chicken, and beef patties. My burger (mushroom and chicken) was delicious and the buns were great. Each meal also comes with a side of fries which you can easily upgrade. Would recommend trying their milkshakes - they are delicious. The place is pretty small so I would recommend making a reservation in advance.

The best hamburger I've had in Taiwan. They offer a wide range of hamburgers, each one sounding amazing. I'm not a potatoes kinda person, but their fries were Amazing 🤩 the environment is pretty chill, big, and has cool vintage decor. I definitely recommend this place, plus the prices are affordable for the quality and they even offer menus for students!

This is a great burger place. This has been a longtime favorite for me and my friends. Great pricing, the owner is friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable. There can be a lot of students and foreigners. But there is generally a good mix of customers. I almost always get the Chicken Aloha burger but I’m never disappointed to try other offerings. The apple walnut salad is good and if I want to be very full I will get a milkshake, which are nice and thick.

I absolutely loved the mango jalapeno vegetarian burger that I ordered here. Full of flavour. The spicy fries were good too. This is a vegan and vegetarian friendly restaurant which is fantastic. My friend had one of the beef patty burgers and said it was great. I want to try the other vegan/vegetarian burgers the next time I come back. Also they do a sticker collection reward system which is cool if you are a regular. The prices are fair for what you get. The burger was huge and the portion of fries generous. The service was great. The staff were friendly and informative. But also at the same time they left you alone to chill. I liked the vibe.

I was craving a western style burger 🍔 and looked up KGB. I really wanted this place to be great but unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations. Perhaps I’m being biased as I personally prefer American beef, which is generally more juicy and tasteful, but the kiwi burger wasn’t up to my craving. The ambiance is nice and decor different and interesting - I personally didn’t care for the naked breasted women in the bathroom that seems a bit outdated and sexist to me…however the rest of the decor was cool. The large party of students next to us was a bit loud, for a weekday night so it was impossible for us to talk to each other. There is a good selection of burgers, including vegan and a good selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. We asked the owner what the drink ingredients were and he couldn’t answer other than giving us a generic answer. I wound expect the proprietor to be able to give a detailed, knowledgeable answer. He was able to provide a knowledgeable answer as to what was in the food. Also they didn’t have all their drinks in stock. The fries were the highlight of my visit. We got a mushroom and vegan burger. Both were only ok. If I’m in the neighborhood I might go again but wouldn’t make a special trip out of my way. Try it for yourself and make your own decision, the owner is very nice, friendly and tries hard. 5 starts for effort 3.5 stars for execution.

Yelp
I've come back three years later and the food is still delicious! Love the specials that they have on the menu and the great prices for the burgers.

Yelp
They speak pretty fluent English here, which is awesome. Menu is also in both Chinese and English Fries are super crispy, burgers are juicy! Need I say more? This place is better than in n out, but they are heavy handed with the mayo (think about slathered on the burger) so skip the mayo order it on the side. I had the chicken sandwich and it was juicy even without the mayo

Yelp
What strikes me most about KGB is their customer friendliness. They value their visitors, their opinions and concern and make sure they have the best possible experience. From the moment you walk in, until whatever ends up being your adieu. It's safe to say there are heaps of burger joints around the city, but only a few will serve you a quality burger. This review is mainly based on my first visit (which honestly deserves a 5.5 rating), but due to my second visit not meeting those standards, it's a 4.5 from me. Let me explain: First time we came around the waitress treated us incredibly lovely, she was on board, helpful, sweet and playful. Took our order, and all was nice & dandy. Once the burger was served my god was I impressed! It was cooked to perfection (I prefer a medium-rare) with fresh vegetables, tasty bacon and even good buns! I was sure I'd found the best burger. The second time around the burger was overcooked and the vegetables not as fresh, we were disappointed. But a new waitress was in place and it might have been a beginners mistake in terms of communication. I did however get in touch with management and I truly appreciate their attention to the matter as I wish for KGB to be the best they can be. I trust that they will look into the issues we encountered (as I assume they were a rare incident I won't go into further detail) as I want to emphasize how incredibly perfect the food was the first time. We even got free cake! Their menu is a little too much. I personally prefer menus with less pages and less options (here the options frankly don't differ that much), as the KGB-menu is quite extensive. Anyways, you'll definitely get a quality burger at KGB. My friend also swears by the bacon & cheese fries, so if you like cheese. And fries. Go bananas! I personally opted for the garlic fries, but found the garlic to be a tad overwhelming. KGB also have good milkshakes with decent flavor. I wish there were more options on the menu, but those they have they make well. As for the ambience of the restaurant it's an open space that might get a little loud (but this honestly depends on the nationality of the customers), but with great music playing in the background you'll quickly find yourself pulling a few seated dance moves while indulging. There is also limited outdoor seating. It's very close to the street, but at the same time looks über cozy. It's a little hard to find from the mainroad, but keep an eye open for the sign & you'll see it. Enjoy!

Yelp
Best burgers in Taiwan. Came here years ago when I was a younger man "studying Mandarin" for a college summer. I met a few girls that summer, ended up with one and she brought me here for lunch. Random fact: the place is owned by a couple of Australians. It was a popular place for ex-pats to hang out. I remember the waitstaff was comprised solely of young, attractive females. I remember, because my very beautiful gf at the time ended up outside, angry-crying, smoking a cigarette, upset that one was possibly flirting with me. 10/10 would come here again for the burgers...with my new girlfriend.

Yelp
That volcano burger (KGB's hot sauce, grilled onions, and Trinidad Moruga scorpion chilies) was fucking fantastic. Definitely coming back to check out their lunch specials and salads. Such a legit spot right by campus. I wonder if my classmates will notice the chilies stuck in between my pretty teeth.

Yelp
When I first came here, I fell in love with their vegan burger. Maybe because it's my first vegan burger in Taipei. But after 3 years and tried a lot of vegan burgers. We came back with my family for a meal---kinda disappointed. Bun is dry & ventilation is bad. My husband & my eyes are hurting so we have to leave right away after eating. They need to improve that. On a brighter note, glad they add more healthy variety such as the kombucha tea. Other than that, everything is just so-so.

Yelp
I refuse to eat burgers anywhere else. I like that they offer 3 kinds of patties (beef, chicken, and veggie-bean), 4 if you consider that the chicken patty comes either fried or broiled, with a large or slim portion for each patty. Avocado is freshly smashed throughout the day to ensure fresh, green avocado for best flavor and best visual (no one wants to see brown avo). The fries are delicious and come in different flavors that include lots of garlic and cheese, and if you want to be healthy, they have awesome salads. Like, proper salads with proper salad greens (like rocket), which you can hardly find at any other burger place. Some people might find KGB a little pricey compared to the standard cost of living in Taipei, but this is a quintessential example of you get what you pay for. Good ingredients, friendly service, and great flavor isn't cheap, but KGB is great value.

Yelp
Very dissapointed if what I ate here they call "gourmet burger". Tiny beef patty inside of miserable hamburger bun and all this tasteless. Black Bull Farm and Burger Ray are still the best places for burger in this entire city, hands down.

Yelp
Food: 4.0/5.0 only been here once, aioli burger was pretty solid choice. Tasty beef, fresh firm bun, crunchy fries. Service: 4.0/5.0, no complaints, waitress was nice, can't say they went over the top though Price: 3.8/5.0, typical restaurant prices, high by Taiwan standards but not overpriced I feel Ambiance: 4.0/5.0, nice decor inside, it's in a tiny alley which I never would have found if I didn't have the address.

Yelp
They speak very good English. They serve the best burgers that I've had in Taipei. And the best part is, they are so vegan friendly. They offer a long list of VEGAN burgers which are really delicious. And their CHOCOLATE BROWNIE is the BEST I've ever had. Absolutely love eating here!!!

Yelp
This is my favorite burger place in Taipei. Even though I need to take the subway for 30 minutes to get here I do it regularly. I got tired of the major fast food chain burgers and this is where I go to get a real burger. The burger is a decent size and the patty property fits the bun. Ketchup at each table which is important for people like me that use French fries as a ketchup delivery device. The beef is from New Zealand and very good. The buns are made by a local bakery.

Yelp
I was craving burgers and found this place by NTNU/Shida and the Shida Night Market. Ordered a KGB Aioli burger with bacon cheese fries and a caramel shake. The burger was a bit dry, though the aioli sauce was pretty good. The caramel shake was a bit too sweet for me, but very creamy and rich. The fries, though, were on point and absolutely delicious. As a transplant from the US, I have been searching for a place that finally does bacon right -- crispy, not the Canadian ham you often get at places around here. Real melted cheese instead of nacho cheese sauce is also appreciated. Also, I'm definitely coming back to try the Jesse Pinkman cocktail! :)

Yelp
I was in there today at about 3pm. It was thankfully nice and quiet. Ordered a large beef lime aoli burger with Gouda cheese I believe it was. And a raspberry shake. The burger was delicious and there was plenty of sauce which I like. The meat was cooked well and was nice and juicy. Although I have to say. Considering I ordered a large burger it was rather small. The raspberry shake was perfect on this hot day. I'll def be back.

Yelp
Despite the name, this place is not run by Russian spies making delicious burgers. I know, I was highly suspicious as well. It actually a fairly quaint place to get a juicy cheese burger. Who would have thought? KGB was founded by two Kiwis (a Kiwi is a person from New Zealand by the way) who just love burgers. Their passion for food really comes through in each and every dish. It is quite easy for me to praise most burger joints; after all I grew up eating the stuff. But unlike most restaurants that serve small beef patties, KGB does just the opposite. Their burgers are bigger in diameter than most burgers you will find across the city. My favorite is the bacon avocado burger. They cook that bacon crisp to perfection and place it on a gooey slice of avocado heaven. The combination is just divine. God bless KGB (the restaurant, not the spies) and God bless New Zealand.

Yelp
Coming from New York, the land of burgers, I just had to find a place to satisfy the crave here in Taiwan. This place did the job perfectly... from the shakes to the cheese fries to the tasty and creative burger flavors, to the healthy and delicious choice of side salads. Moreover it felt like a healthy, balanced burger meal, but still completely satisfying.. You won't feel like a greasy mess on the way to getting a heart attack. I recommend it!

Yelp
KGB stands for Kiwi Gourmet Burger and is one of the better burger joints in Taipei. Tucked into a little side alley off of Shida Road and around the corner from Taipower MRT station, this unassming burger bar attracts a laidback crowd of carnivores. There are loads of poor imitations of American Diners in Taiwan. Thankfully this place is nothing like those. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and really lets you do up your burger as your like it. Sides or no sides? Which sauces? What toppings? Chicken or beef patty? Exactly the kinds of questions a burger fiend likes to be asked. And the best one - would you like a beer or cider with your burger? Yes please. My favourites include the chicken burger with cranberry sauce and the bacon and cheese burger (because bacon), with extra caramelized onion. KGB is reliable. They offer good service, prompt feeding and you know you can count on a good meal here.

Yelp
Though there are lots of places to get a quick burger in Taipei, KGB is a cut above the rest. They use fresh ingredients and nice bread for the buns, and there are a variety of burgers to choose from. I've eaten there several times, and I try a different combination every time. The lamb patties are especially good, but I haven't neglected the vegetarian patties. Even to a devoted carnivore like me the veggie burgers are good, not in a fake-meat kind of way, but nutty and filling. I've enjoyed both the fries and the salads, though I found the lemon dressing on the Greek salad too tart. The cheese and bacon upgrade on the fries is a nice option for the less health conscious. If you ever get a chance to try this restaurant, I wholly recommend it. There's something there for practically every taste. The place even sells tickets to many of the yearly special events (Halloween parties, music festivals, etc.) in case you need an excuse to go.

Yelp
Shortly after moving to Taiwan a little over 2 years I found myself craving burgers. KGB Burgers was the first burger shop recommended and since then, I've become a regular at the restaurant. Located in the university district of Shida, KGB (short for Kiwi Gourmet Burger) uses certified New Zealand beef and offers a wide variety of burger choices. My personal favorites and go-to's are the Feta Tzaziki and Avocado Burger, the Peanut Satay served with an Indonesian style peanut satay sauce and the KGB Aioli served with their signature aioli sauce. All burgers come with a choice of fries or salad. You also have a choice of beef, chicken or walnut-lentil patty. While I'm not a vegetarian I often order the walnut-lentil patty when I want a lighter burger. I wouldn't say KGB is the best burger shop in Taipei, but it's certainly a decent one. The prices are reasonable (between NT $160-220) and the staff is super friendly.

Yelp
I've only been here once, and everyone else seems to love it here, so definitely take my review with a grain of salt. I came and ordered the lamb burger, which I was super excited about. It tasted all right, but I was slightly disappointed because 1) the burger was completely well-done. As in, not even slightly pink. They don't actually ask you how well-done you want your burger here (maybe I'm asking for too much in Taiwan?) so I guess they cook everything all the way through? The burger didn't taste super lamb-y, which is good or bad depending on how gamey you like your meat, but I wish it had been more tender. The tzatziki spread was also very thick -- I guess they mix it with feta -- but it was less the consistency of feta smashed in and more like... like mayo or cream. It was tasty, but there was a LOT of it, and not super traditional tzatziki taste. The caesar salad I got on the side was fine. At least the dressing wasn't made with mayo like I've had elsewhere in Taiwan. I'd come back give some of the other burgers a try because the selection is impressive. I thought everything tasted pretty good, I just expect more for a burger joint in terms of how they cook their meat, especially when the burger is over 300NT. Still, I think it's worth it to try the burgers here.

Angus M.

Yelp
Delicious burgers, friendly staff, enjoyed the Caesar salad I had there and recommend people try the aioli with some of the fries.

Mickey Y.

Yelp
Been in Taipei for the summer and decided to try this place out. It was really ok, nothing really special. Kinda of expensive for the quality and quantity of food you would get. The burger was fine though it could be more flavorful. The menu could have more variety.

Wen L.

Yelp
Avg burger place didn't wow me... Small little place not to hard to find tried it a couple times the burgers just not up to par. Very avg. Not really special and the flavor a bit bland need more seasoning or just something to spice it up. Recently lots of burger joint are popping up and I am very excited to find the best burger join in Taipei.
