Khama Rhino is a quick stopover for most people, but I truly think this place deserves a bit more time than just a stopover. It is truly a special place with an abundance of wildlife. The campsites are quite private a really big. Each has a tap and fireplace with a lot of shade. There are 13 campsites (from what I saw) with 2 shared ambitions. The road to the campsite is not too bad, but in the park you do need a 4x4 for certain areas. We were there during the rainy season and even though a lot of the roads were flooded it was still drivable. There is a pool and a restaurant, both look very neat and clean but we didn’t get the opportunity to use either. There is a shop at the entrance, but it doesn’t have a lot of items. This is truly a gem of a place and a must see for all travelers.

Lovely park with lots of animals. Self drive game viewing is allowed, but bring a 4x4 that can handle scratches from thorny branches. Large camping spots without power, but disappointing ablutions which are quite a distance from some campsites.

We stopped here on the way from Gaborone to Kubu Island. As we still had a few things to do in Gabs, we arrived a little late in the dark and even though we hadn't made a reservation in advance, we were still given a very warm welcome. The campsite and utility blocks were clean. The next morning we went on a self-drive safari through the park - the "birdhide" observation station is absolutely amazing.

It was a wonderful experience and the staff is very nice and accommodating! I think though that phones should be placed in the rooms for when you need to call reception as cellphone network coverage is very limited in the area.

The campsite was decent overall, but there are some things to keep in mind. There’s no power, but the site is spacious with your own tap and two fire-making areas – one is a concrete boma pit, and the other comes with a braai grid. We stayed at Campsite No. 1, and unfortunately, the ablution blocks were quite far from us. The facilities include 2 toilets, 2 showers, and one bath, but they were a bit outdated. The restaurant seemed pretty average, but the staff were friendly, and we enjoyed a plate of chips there. They have a TV, but don’t count on the swimming pools – they were green and not suitable for swimming. On the plus side, you can drive around the park and spot some rhinos, zebras, and other wildlife. There aren’t a lot of roads, but it’s a peaceful drive, especially when watching the sunset over the pans. We visited during the dry season, so water levels were low, but I imagine it could be really beautiful in the wet season when more animals are around.

Self drive, game drive, and view, kids playing ground, picnic area, restaurant and accommodation, and internet(wifi) are what one would need to spend time relaxing while enjoying nature. And all that is available. Best time to visit (sunny wet/rainy days)when the game is mostly at water sources. It is good for viewing all in the same pond and taking pics.

If you want to see Rhinos this little park is a must to do. Stay at the Bird-Hide and at the 1st waterhole only. The campsite is a joke and the absolution blocks need to be refurbished asap.

We were there over the weekend. There is so much more potential to improve this place, but nothing has been done, really. The Campsite is basic, no more, ablutions far apart & changing a site, they say, everything booked out, which we really doubted. The flexibility is no there at all.
