The campsite was decent overall, but there are some things to keep in mind. There’s no power, but the site is spacious with your own tap and two fire-making areas – one is a concrete boma pit, and the other comes with a braai grid. We stayed at Campsite No. 1, and unfortunately, the ablution blocks were quite far from us. The facilities include 2 toilets, 2 showers, and one bath, but they were a bit outdated.
The restaurant seemed pretty average, but the staff were friendly, and we enjoyed a plate of chips there. They have a TV, but don’t count on the swimming pools – they were green and not suitable for swimming.
On the plus side, you can drive around the park and spot some rhinos, zebras, and other wildlife. There aren’t a lot of roads, but it’s a peaceful drive, especially when watching the sunset over the pans. We visited during the dry season, so water levels were low, but I imagine it could be really beautiful in the wet season when more animals are around.
