An over crowded local egyptian market. We have been to multiple souk in luxor, aswan and other places dk egypt so didn’t feel anything new. It’s cramped and heavily crowded. We visited in evening. There are lots of shops, variety of items across the market, as usual huge bargaining. Since we visited already so many souk this was not new for us but if it’s ur first time I would say it’s a must visit to experience egyptian culture.
It’s a web of narrow roads with close knitted shops, easy to get lost.
There are some cafe and restaurant also in various lanes which is also very busy.
After sunset the lights lit up and makes this area more beautiful.
Shopping wise I would say yes there is a lot lot of it but you need good selection and negotiation skills.
The sellers are constantly trying to lure u and sell their products.
Personally I loved the al souk of aswan better than any other local market across egypt. It was not as crowded and was not narrow to give enough space for the crowds to move.
