We were lucky as we went during Ramadan so the market was quiet during the day... very pretty and full of shops. Definitely recommend walking g round the go back to speciid shops to look closer or purchase as lots of places sell the sane or similar items

Would really recommend the place to find souvenirs and items to bring home from visit to Egypt! We bought many items. But just be careful though some would price a bit higher so need to keep going until you find the price you prefer

An over crowded local egyptian market. We have been to multiple souk in luxor, aswan and other places dk egypt so didn’t feel anything new. It’s cramped and heavily crowded. We visited in evening. There are lots of shops, variety of items across the market, as usual huge bargaining. Since we visited already so many souk this was not new for us but if it’s ur first time I would say it’s a must visit to experience egyptian culture. It’s a web of narrow roads with close knitted shops, easy to get lost. There are some cafe and restaurant also in various lanes which is also very busy. After sunset the lights lit up and makes this area more beautiful. Shopping wise I would say yes there is a lot lot of it but you need good selection and negotiation skills. The sellers are constantly trying to lure u and sell their products. Personally I loved the al souk of aswan better than any other local market across egypt. It was not as crowded and was not narrow to give enough space for the crowds to move.

Amazing. One of the best bazaars/markets we've been to globally. Safe, bustling and fun. Sellers were obviously very vocal and always tried to tempt you in but generally they were polite and not over the top. five stars would go every night if I lived there.

Enjoy a great shopping experience in local authentic bazaar at Cairo Egypt. You can get whatever souvenir for friends and relative here. Of course, you need to learn on howvto bargain a good buying price.

A must visit if you want to see old historical Islamic Egypt. A great place to shop for souvenirs. It's often crowded unless you go early when they open on the morning. Evenings are packed especially during Ramadan. I felt safe shipping here despite the crowds. There are many old traditional cafes you can stop at to watch people and enjoy the authentic experience of old Egypt.

A bustling and vibrant 600 year old market in the heart of Cairo. A good place to find souvenirs but have to haggle the price. There are some shops on the upper floors which sell souvenirs with fixed price. While there, should try the feteer or Egyptian pizza. Scrumptious! Warning - There are a lot of cats at the restaurant looking for food.

Super lively night market in Cairo! Exceeded expectations. Make sure to find “the gate” pictured in my photo - a highly photogenic location. Nice places for tea and coffee in the market but I would eat elsewhere. Most places don’t have the best reviews. Lots to shop for though!
