"And Egyptian Restaurant with Great Energy Khan Farouk Egyptian restaurant, located right in the heart of Katara Cultural Village, is the kind of place where a reservation is a must. The restaurant is always buzzing with activity, music, smells, and the cadence of the Egyptian Arabic. Khan Farouk opened in 2010 but its authentic decorations in the outdoor and indoor spaces, the aroma of bread being baked, and the attentiveness of the waiters give the restaurant a feeling of newness, a hard feat to accomplish in a city awash with new, chic, quaint restaurants sprouting up everywhere. It’s hard to sit there, eating foul, or their legendary falafels, or the bread straight out of the clay oven, or their mixed grill, or tender pigeons, without being transported to the streets of Cairo, Egypt. The fact that their Umm Ali dessert is one of the best in the city, doesn’t hurt either. And while their prices are reasonable and nothing in their menu costs more than QR90 ($24), their shisha fruit Maasel mix is QA65 ($18), one of the most expensive in the city. The place is worth every penny spent there: it is alive, abuzz with Egyptian energy, great atmosphere, and they have daily evening traditional entertainment programs presented by Khan Farouk’s Tarab band, offering an experience of time travel to the heart of Cairo. There is a minimum spend of 100QR PP on evenings. Khan Farouk Egyptian restaurant"
Good place to enjoy the Egyptian cuisine and special vibes as well There's a good selection of traditional dishes, but the taste is fairly average. Shisha is available. Prices are little high

I will tell you my honest review
And this is not SPONSORED GUYS!
This is our first time to dine in here.
We expect too much for the food to be good but sad to say didn’t reach our expectations and also the price is little bit expensive for the portion of the food. But for us no problem for the price unless we enjoy the food but sad to say we didn’t. I think they need to improve more for the taste of the food and also the strawberry juice is very sweet even my son didn’t like to drink it.
And we order enough for us but we paid almost 500qr wow😱
There is area separated who like shisha and there is a family area
There is someone who can sing for you i don’t if by request or they make random for the people.
The restaurant is huge you can bring your family and friends with you.
The staff are friendly too!
The one we like a lot is the fresh egytian bread made by the old lady there from the oven and she is friendly too.
My rate for every food :
Molokia - 8/10 a little bit salty
Mixed stuff vegetables or mashy- 7/10 a little bit of salty also
Bamia -8/10 good but little bit of salty
Mashy chrome (cabbage leaves ) and wara anab(grape leaves) 8/10 it’s ok
Rose shaaria(rice with vermicelli) 9/10 good
Mixed grill is 6/10 expensive not tasty at all the portion is too little
Bechamel macaroni- 8/10 good but the problem is the meat that they is use is sheep i thinks cause i can’t eat if the meat is so smelly so i know that this one is not pure beef so I didn’t eat this one at all.
The sweet we take it home
The karkadeh juice (hibiscus) is 10/10 even my son like it too!
I Don’t know if i can recommend this restaurant to you guys but maybe you like try
We did order delivery for them also after
tamiya (falapel beans) 9/10 was good even it’s 4pcs only and little expensive but the taste is good
The foul ( fava beans ) 9/10 is good also

It was truly the worst experience I’ve ever had. I went early Friday morning with my family (wife and 2-year-old toddler), and it took 30 minutes for them to serve us—without any apology or effort to make us feel comfortable. Our questions were completely ignored, and the service was far from professional.
We initially ordered just one dish, intending to order more if we were still hungry. Surprisingly, the waiter’s attitude changed after that. He started treating us in an unprofessional and condescending manner, even calling me “يا كبير” as if we were old friends.
I can’t help but wonder—was this poor treatment because we’re Egyptian? Since the waiter was also Egyptian, did he feel entitled to act overly familiar and disrespectful? Or was it because we didn’t place a large order right away? Either way, it was unacceptable and left us feeling humiliated.
