Khao Lom Muak

Visited there on the 3-day public holiday as they are only open on long public holidays period e.g. Sat-Sun-Mon. No reservation is required beforehand, but you need to arrive there by 9am. The scenery is stunning with the view to 2 bays on different sides. The trail is guarded and monitored by air force soldiers that help assist hikers along the way, making us feel safe. All in all, it was such an awesome experience!

Loved this place! There were lots of monkeys sitting in the trees and it was fun to watch them. The site is located on military property, so you can't always roam wherever you want and have to pass a gate when entering. The view of the mountain was great as well!

I and my friends went this place on 12 Aug 2024 at 6:10 AM morning time. Weather was nice with a bit cloudy and cool temperature during 6-10 am. Total course was 1.1 or 1.2 km (one way) and had a combination of Stairs and Rope Climbing. For rope climbing route, LEFT side is the challenge way while the RIGHT side is normal version. Thus, we took 2.5 hours to completed full in and out. Bring a glove to help your hands while climbing the rope. And just be careful of shaping rocks along the way. I think it is 1.5 out of 5 from standard hiking. Everyone can do it and enjoy a wonderful views on top.

Entry is allowed only few times a year Do not wear elephant pants it will be broken easily. Wear long pants Need gloves to climb up Wear strong shoes dont bring walking stick.

Only accessible on Thai public holidays, you need to have your passport with you because it's in a military zone. Solders are extremely friendly. This is a fun but very short trail, the peak is under 300m and the length of the trail is under 1km one way, half of it using stairs. This hike should take about 1h to complete for experienced hikers with high fitness level (excluding time on top), however it's absolutely crowded and you'll have to wait in lines a lot. I was charged 40 baht for registering even through I read that there's no entrance fee. Gloves are only necessary if you've never scrambled before and rely on pulling yourself up using ropes, hiking shoes recommended.

Was lucky enough to see able to climb to the top this morning since they say it's not open all the time. Very strenuous climb. No long pants needed unless you want to crawl. Some were using gloves for the ropes. Carry water and hydrate your body. Nice shirt and stickers available after climbing. Great views from the top!
