This place can be visited if you have to buy dryfruits and masals in bulk/ wholesale means it should be minimum 10 kg each and the wholesale shops are deep inside the market away from main road. Prices of items at onroad shops are not much different from local market if you buy in retail. For a 20-50 Rs you should not run here. This is a crowdy place and maximum time there is a traffic jam on main road because of the carts and rickshaws. Car parking is atleast 1 km away and paid. Bike can be parked for a local purchase at own risk. Max shops have fixed price. You can get varieties here. Thanks and will update it later of needed. Like the review if found helpful.

Khari Baoli market came up around the Fatehpuri Masjid, which was built in 1650 by Fatehpuri Begum, one of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan's wives. During Shah Jahan's reign it came to be known as Khari Baoli (from Baoli, meaning step well, and Khari or Khara, meaning salty) from a saline water stepwell used for animals and for bathing. It was constructed along with a fortified gateway on its western end popularly known as Lahori Gate, one of the 14 gates of the fortified city of Delhi or Shahjahanabad, named so because a road through it led to the city of Lahore, now in Pakistan. The market is situated near the historic Delhi Red Fort, on the Khari Baoli Road adjacent to Fatehpuri Masjid at the western end of the Chandni Chowk. Dry fruit shops at start of Khari Baoli near Fatehpuri Masjid sell everything from a wide variety of nuts like almonds, cashews, and pistachios, to dried fruits such as raisins and dates, and often include other products like spices, roasted nuts, and mixed dry fruit blends. period leading up to Diwali is peak season for dry fruit shops in Khari Baoli, as people traditionally buy dry fruits as gifts and for festive cooking and consumption.

⏰️Time Opening 10:00am to 11:00pm (Tue - Sun). Monday closed 📍 Nearest Metro 🚇 : 🅿️Chandni Chowk चांदनी चौक 🅿️Chawri Bazar चावड़ी बाजार ☑ Walking 🚶‍♀️ distance 850 mtr Nearest Bus 🚌 stand : Fatehpuri फ़तेहपुरी Feedback: 1️⃣ Nice place for shop dry fruits basically it know as a dry fruit market prices are reasonable too much quality available with whole sale or retails prices. As per 2024, December time, dry fruit rates..... 1) almonds - 800-1000 kg 2) cashews - 800-1100 kg 3) raisins - 200-350 kg 4) walnuts - 800-900 kg 5) dates/khajoor - 150-1450 kg according to their variety 6) naryal 150-200 kg Overall, and it's not fixed, prices fluctuate as per market demand and supply. 2️⃣ This historic marketplace dates back to the 17th century and is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse range of products. Features of Khari Baoli: 1. Dry Fruits: It is a go-to destination for a variety of high-quality dry fruits like almonds, pistachios, walnuts, cashews, raisins, and dates, often sourced from India and abroad. 2. Spices and Herbs: The market offers an array of aromatic spices, including saffron, cardamom, cloves, and more. 3. Traditional Appeal: The narrow lanes are packed with shops that have been run by generations of traders, reflecting the rich cultural and historical heritage of the area. 4. Affordable Prices: Khari Baoli is known for its competitive pricing, making it a favourite for bulk purchases by households, businesses, and export traders. 5. Dried Goods: Apart from spices and dry fruits, the market also sells pulses, rice, herbs, and other food essentials. 6. Bustling Atmosphere: The market is always busy, filled with the lively chatter of traders and customers, providing a unique old-world charm. 3️⃣ Sunday closed, normally overcrowded, especially on Friday/Saturday and during Diwali/wedding season. To reach, get a cycle rickshaw from Lal quila/Gurudwara sheeshganj to fatehpuri masjid and avoid bringing kids to the market. A variety of dry fruits and quality depends on how much you are going to pay. 4️⃣ Tips for Visiting: Timing: The market is open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, but mornings are less crowded. Bargaining: Negotiating prices are common and often expected. Carry Cash: Many smaller shops may not accept digital payments. 5️⃣ things that are problematic here are congested roads and the aroma of many spices that make you sneeze a lot. ❌ unPaid 💰 car parking and limited space for scooty/bike. Note: Avoid bringing your own car 🚗/ bike 🏍 ✅ Cash 💸 ✅UPI Phone/paytm/Google Pay ✅ Debit card and credit card 💳 accept My review helpful? Please Like 👍
