I found this place from a sister store Tula in Montreal which is a 100% vegan location. This place offer both regular and full Vegan menus. The food is fantastic with great portion sizes. Very clean and very friendly staff. Food is all made from scratch and can be accommodating to spice levels and dietary needs.

We had actually planned to visit another restaurant but came across this place on our way and decided to give it a try last Sunday. The restaurant was empty at the time, which meant quick and prompt service. We ordered their all-time favorite tandoori chicken (half), tender coconut chicken, butter roti, jeera rice, and homestyle dal tadka. The tandoori chicken was served in a generous portion, but unfortunately, it lacked flavor. On the other hand, the tender coconut chicken had a delicious, rich coconut-flavored gravy, definitely the highlight, but the chicken pieces were undercooked, so we stuck to the gravy with roti. The dal and jeera rice were decent and quite enjoyable. Overall, the experience was not bad, a few highlights, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Our team loves grabbing a quick lunch from here, so we ordered catering for our office as well! Today we had mostly vegetarian curries, veggie biryani and their Chicken Tikka Masala (similar to butter chicken but more flavor, more spice, more tomato-y/tart - not as creamy like butter chicken) - super tasty! Everyone enjoyed the meal. Our only take would be that the Fried Vegetable Bites/Balls were supposed to be delivered with the sauce separate on the side - this was not the case, and the tray was all soggy and mushed :( Hopefully next time we can get the bites crunchy! Paneer E Khaas - cottage cheese with a delicious savory spinach gravy! Mmm, that green sauce soooo good - YOU gotta try this one! Veggie Diwani Handi - a beautifully spiced curried assortment of cauliflower, green peas, potatoes, baby corn - and more! It's a definite favorite for the entire crowd! Vegetable Samosas - delivered crispy with a TRIO SAUCE DIP OTS! How awesome is that!? Buttered Naan - great chew, slightly charred, oh so buttery - don't you dare skip this one! You need them for all the sauceeeeee to dip! Speaking of sauce and needs - BIRYANI (rice) with vegetables! The way they craft this dish is so delicious- packed with flavours and spices. Be sure to give it a good mix before you serve! Chicken Tikka Masala - marinated & grilled - smothered in a creamy tomato based curry. All the trays were so carefully wrapped, packaged, and delivered - I AM TELLING YOU - NOTHING SPILLED (BOTH TIMES WE HAVE ORDERED - look at the pictures)! Teams are friendly and so attentive to your catering needs. Thank you for another delicious catering Khau Gully Team!

Great restaurant! The server was so nice and explained the menu, his recommendations are amazing. We had the platter, coconut chicken and lamb curry.

I used to love Khau gully’s food but recently the quality has dropped significantly , today I found a piece of blue rubber band in my chicken biryani.. also the chicken looked greyish green it seems the color of the rubber band has leaked onto the chicken.. what a shame given how good their chefs used to be.. hoping the management team will take some action and do better quality control

This was my first time here and I really loved it! The restaurant is super cozy and the food is so tasty. I’ll definitely tell my friends about this place and I can’t wait to come back again!😋

Google
The BEST indian food I have tasted. My first time in this restaurant and their food were tasty and delicious! Huge servings too! Staff were friendly, service was fast and efficient. I highly recommend this place and I would definitely go back! So glad to have tried this restaurant.

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The ambience was warm and the service was excellent. As a vegan, I really appreciated the extra care taken to accommodate my dietary needs. My partner, who is not vegetarian, also enjoyed his meal just as much. We both truly appreciated being able to enjoy our respective dishes without compromise. The food, though rooted in North Indian cuisine, was refreshingly light and flavourful. It was not greasy as is often the case, yet it was so reminiscent of the traditional flavour. We ended with a delicious rice pudding made vegan with fresh coconut flesh and milk. A thoughtful and satisfying meal from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We tried this place while visiting some friends who live in the area. I was super impressed that they have koshimbir on the menu--a childhood favorite, and they executed it really well! I also liked their take on saag paneeer as it was really unique and flavorful. We also tried the samosas, naan, bindi masala and the tadka dal, all of which were really delicious. The food isn't super heavy, and you don't feel bloated afterwards. Their market carries some really interesting items; I found poha chewda (which I weirdly haven't been able to find in Waterloo...) and homemade curry leaf podi!

Yelp
Came to Khau Gully this week with my friends for a wholesome dinner. We shared this potato appetizer which I can't seem to find on their menu right now. It came with 6 pieces and found it was ok! We shared the paneer butter masala and seafood biryani which were both pretty delicious, especially with their butter garlic naan. I also got the mango lassi and it was quite warm so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy it as much. It was really creamy with a rich yogurt taste. I found Khau Gully's prices to be on the higher side. Service was great as our server was attentive. Restaurant was clean and really nice!

Yelp
Food: 3.5 Stars Service: 5 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Fill Factor: Satisfied This was my first visit to Khau Gully after a recommendation from a friend of Indian descent. We had him do most of the ordering as I had no clue what I was doing and overall he did a good job recommending dishes as well as this restaurant. Before we get to the meat (literally) of the review, I wanted to take a moment to mention the excellent service from the staff. Friendly, helpful and constantly checking in on us to ensure we were doing well so good stuff. The restaurant is also nicely decorated and very spacious with many tables and it wasn't incredibly busy the night we were there so I feel like it should not be a problem getting a spot. I have no idea what half of the items we ordered were so I cannot provide specifics on those items, but there were a few I do remember and can comment on. The Kerala fish curry which my friend swore was amazing turned out to be the least liked dish of the night as it was incredibly watery and flavourless. My friend said it was better last time he had it so I will chalk this up to an off night. We also ordered the mutton biryani which was super tasty and everyone's favourite for the night. For dessert we shared the gajar ka halwa which is a sweetened shredded carrot dish (I believe there is dairy). I was the only one of the party who enjoyed this as I loved the texture and the sweet taste reminded me almost of condensed milk. I can't wait to come back here again and try some of their other offerings. The food here is very shareable so it is easy to order a bunch of different items to try. Good food, good service, definitely recommend.

Yelp
Love love love their food. Vegan menu is so tasty. The service is very attentive. Every time it's burst of flavor! Very nice and lively ambiance. Highly recommend vegan butter chicken with jira rice!

Yelp
Good service and ambience. We ordered assorted platter for appetizers and everything was delicious(Paneer, mushroom, veggies). What stood out for me was their 'Lasooni Dhaniya Paneer' paired with naan. It was hands down the most flavorful curry I've tried in a long time outside of India. We liked their Biryani, light and flavorful. But if you like the spicy Hyderabadi style biryani, this ain't for you :)

Yelp
Lamb curry in a tomato base was good. Cauliflower on spinach base also enjoyable. The paneer, a cheese, was heavy. Rice was enjoyable.

Yelp
A cute place hidden on Yonge in mid town. The inside is decorated like a food street. Had the Shrimp Tandoori, Pan Fried King Fish, Fish Curry and Fresh Lime Soda. The shrimps (or prawns) were well seasoned, so did the king fish fillets. The green sauce made by mint was refreshing. Curry was yum too, it had coconut cream in it while mild spicy. What wowed me was their lemon soda. I've never had this kind of lime soda before - they added some green-colored Indian spice into it, the first taste was very funny, but then you'll love it. For folks who are not part of Indian ethnicity, this is highly recommended. The service was quite nice too. Would love to revisit sometime.

Yelp
I like the interior and decor of this place, the tapestries on the walls really add to the overall vibe of the indian cuisine. I was craving khichdi and I ordered the spinach one which was a delight! The service was pretty quick and lovely as well!

Yelp
Our favorite Indian restaurant. We have eaten something different every time we have gone and loved everything. The staff is extremely helpful and give excellent suggestions. You have to order rice separately.

Yelp
Went in to grab takeout. Thought this place must be fantastic with such high ratings and was surprised at the high prices (no bread or rice included with the +$20 butter chicken dish? What the...?) Ordered, paid - & gave a tip! - in advance, gave my name & phone number when requested so they could call me when my food was ready, and went out to walk around the neighborhood while I waited the promised 15-20 minutes for my call. +25 minutes later & no phone call, I walked back in and noticed a brown paper bag sitting behind the pay area. When I asked where my food was they grabbed the bag and said "Oh! We have just been really busy!" yet somehow they had 3 people standing there to give me my food. One even tried to pull out the payment machine even though I had already paid. The food was fine. It was not spectacular by any stretch and certainly was not worth the nearly $30 I paid for it. Portions were fine. The naan bread (which cost extra!) was not sufficient for the size of the dish. I dunno why everyone on here is raving about this place maybe it's a different experience when one goes and sits down at the restaurant but I know of way better, way more sensibly priced Indian places in the city than this one Meh not worth it

Yelp
Wow!! I'm so glad i came across this restaurant. Not only is the decor absolutely beautiful, but the food is incredible! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to recommend some amazing dishes for take out. And OMG the samosas are THE BEST IVE EVER HAD!! I definitely recommend giving this place a try. You will not be disappointed

Yelp
There were so many high reviews for this Indian restaurant joint I was excited to try it out this weekend but was so disappointed. The biryani was tasteless and for such a high price I should just make plain rice at home. This was by far the most foul place that I've ever eaten, based on the quality of the food and how empty the place was on a weekend the high reviews must be fake. I will never eat here again.

Yelp
3.5 stars but I am rounding down because I can't justify giving this place 4 stars. When I walked into this restaurant, I was immediately enamoured by the beautiful décor. We made a reservation for nine people and I loved the setup of the long table that we were assigned--so much so that I had to take a picture of it before I took my seat. Also, I noticed that the restaurant had a strong smoky smell; thankfully, it was a beautiful day outside so the doors of the restaurant were open to air out the smoke. The waiter was kind enough to explain the menu for us as it was our first time at this restaurant. We decided in the end to order and communally share all the dishes--which I highly recommend, even if you don't normally share you food with other people, DO IT, trust me, you won't regret it!! Also, the restaurant is willing to split the bill for you so it was easy for us to pay separately. When placing our order, the waiter was pretty pushy about wanting us to order the kabobs. We told him "no" but he kept insisting us to order. In the end, we did order it because we became a party of ten people. However, for $17.95 for 8 pieces is a bit steep. If only the overall service was as attentive as the waiter's pushiness for us to order the kabob, we wouldn't need to be waving throughout our meal to get our waters refilled. Nonetheless, I did like that we had our plates changed between our starters and mains. We had the mango chicken salad, which was alright, nothing special. We also had an assort of curries dishes that we ordered, each had a unique flavour. We especially loved the fish curry as it had an added coconut flavour which helped offset the fishiness taste. We ordered a lot of naan to go with our curry, which was meeeeh, as I love it when restaurants finish their naan with some butter/oil on the top. When it came time for us to pay, we found that we were charged $2.50 for "open food." When asked what "open food" was, we were notified that the charge is for the "lime" that we added to our water. We called for the manager to speak with us and he explained that anytime you want extra anything, like "onions," they charge that in the "open food" fee. He said the waiter should have explained it to us when we asked for lime--well, the waiter did NOT tell us, probably because he was so busy trying to recommend the kabobs. The manager was kind enough to take the $2.50 charge off our bill. The aftermath of our indian experience at Khau Gully resulted in some members of our dinner party making a couple trips to be bathroom. I don't know if this is a good sign... Would I return? Probably not.

Yelp
The food here is delicious! Decoration was warm and bright, a lovely space. I especially enjoyed the salmon on the meat platter, thank you for the staff who recommended it. We came on a Saturday evening with reservation. It did get pretty busy! Service was friendly (maybe a little tooo friendly as the staff were always eyeing our table to change plates) :p overall, awesome experience.

Yelp
The first time I had heard of Khau Gully was through a BlogTO clip on Facebook where they hyped it up to oblivion, like they do with most "new" things in town. With plenty of south asian cuisine experience, I give the food a 4. Oh it tasted nothing like the karahi gosht you had in North India on your trip? Well... no two curries taste the same. South Asian cuisine is versatile, and there are MANY versions and adaptations to the tikka masalas and butter chickens we know and love. Khau Gully's broad menu targets mainstream Toronto, while serving up delicious and balanced curries in a very inviting, and cozy space. Typically I don't expect ambience walking into an Indian restaurant, and I try to get in an out quickly. But Khau Gully has put substantial effort into their space. The mural on the wall brilliant! The detail and intricacies in the artwork embodies the Indian culture beautifully. FOOD: I tried the Chicken Dum Biryani, which is cooked in a clay pot, with a dough cover. I asked for it to be medium spicy, and I think it was bang on. The Chicken Tikka Masala was also very good! Sometimes I find tikka masalas to be too sweet, but this one was just right. Also a couple of naans on the side and some raita - it was a delicious meal. By the way - the menu is full of vegetarian and vegan options! (Another reviewer mentioned grittiness... it's the style of the curry. Some people blend the spices really fine, and some do it partially. I personally prefer the latter. ) SERVICE: Better than any Indian restaurants I've been to, but not as great as your auntie's house. Although they did come and check on us 12 times to make sure everything was good. ;) They were well staffed, and everyone was very attentive and polite! For two people, $42 for dinner near Yonge and Eglinton... it's definitely fair. We were full, and even had some leftovers. Disclaimer: This is not your take out Indian joint... the portions are not huge, but they are fair! The prices may not be cheap, but they are definitely reasonable for the quality and location. The Indian restaurant business may seem saturated, but there's always something lacking (usually service). It's not perfect... but in my opinion Khau Gully strives to fulfill every major criteria on the list to be a solid Indian joint for the mainstream market.

Yelp
Yaaaaay, a new, amazing and authentic Indian restaurant in the neighbourhood! I want to start from the service.. that was great! If you are not Indian or are not with Indian friends, don't worry! They will go over the menu with you and answer all your questions about their huge variety of meals! Staffs are helpful and kind. Chai is so good, just a little pricy for a little cup, but it comes in a cute clay cup tho! Hahaha We went in 6 people, then I got to try different dishes and it was nice, all with a good mix of spices.. some dishes were hot and some were mild, then there is dishes for everyone! My two favourite ones were: Mug siya mirch - the chicken was so tasty and melting in my mouth. Dhansak - the daal (with yellow lentils) was sooooo tasty and a bit spicy how I like + the lamb was so tender! Loooooved! For the desserts we got: - Gulab Jamun: I'm a gulab jamun lover, then it's complicated for me to talk much about it. I just love, and it was delicious. It comes 2 balls of it. - Green Pistachio Kulfi: Their Kulfi has a really good quality, but the problem with me is that I prefer the ones that are not too concentrated. Then I didn't like much. - Gajar Ka halwa: Sooooooo good and the portion is big! It really worth! HEY, YOU DO NEED TO TRY THEM OUT!

Yelp
This review is based on a take-out order experience only, since dine-in was closed at this time. The take-out process was pretty smooth - call in, place order, come in to pick up. The food was ready on time. The Hare Pyaaz Mahi Tikka was substituted with salmon, which was totally ok with me since I love salmon. The salmon was cooked very well done (the way I like it, so it was a bonus). It came in a pretty good portion size - enough for 3 people to share. It also came with 3 different chutneys: mint chutney (which was spicy), some kind of red chutney (which was a bit sweet but tasty), and a yogurt-based chutney which had little pieces of cucumber in it (very light tasting and refreshing - this was my favourite). Overall the Salmon Tikka dish was good, nicely grilled with mild spices. It paired really well with the yogurt-based chutney. The Vegetables Biryani, however, was disappointing. It was very spicy yet not flavourful (couldn't taste the herbs or saffron). It was made up of almost all rice and a few pieces of cashew nuts on top. I managed to find one small piece of carrot hiding inside the big mound of rice. So much for a "vegetables" biryani. I wouldn't get the biryani again.

Yelp
Fancy Indian decor! The service was fantastic I would have given this placd 4/5 if the food was more consistent. I enjoyed their mango lassi and the lamb kebobs - although it was a bit dry for my liking. The butter chicken didn't taste like butter chicken that I've had before at different Indian places. The butter garlic naan was good but it was mostly crunchy and not the soft kind that you can dip and soak into the food. I didn't like that you have to order rice or naan as the dishes don't come with these included
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a winner in aesthetic. The atmosphere makes it a more fun and interesting restaurant to eat. Spacious and unique. Staff was helpful and friendly. We tried a couple different dishes. The kofta and a paneer dish. The food is not traditional but rather Indian inspired. Food comes out in a nice photo worthy manner. While neither dish knocked it out of the park, they were good. Tried the Masala chai which comes in an earthy type of cup. It was made to standard which is a little sweet for me. The best was by far the rotis and naans were ordered, garlic, misdi, methi. All excellent. Prices are around standard for proper Indian restaurant food. There are high chairs available. I do recommend if you are in the neighbourhood and looking for Indian food.

Yelp
I'd been wanting to check out Khau Gully ever since it opened, but somehow I just never managed to make it down there. So when an opportunity arose to finally stop in with a group, I was more than happy to tag along. We arrived right on time for our reservation and were shown to a table right near the kitchen. It was clear right from the beginning that service isn't the joint's strong suit, as we were given a special holiday menu but later told we couldn't order anything from it. Likewise, the service was somewhat spotty throughout our meal. This is a fairly moot complaint in the face of food that was pretty much uniformly delicious. I didn't do the ordering, so I'm not sure of everything we ate, but I was definitely most impressed by one of the appetizers: Nimbu Dhaniya Murg ("Boneless pieces of chicken cooked with lemon, cilantro and chilies") Everything about this dish worked; the chicken was cooked perfectly, and the sauce it was swimming in was incredibly flavorful and rich. We ordered quite a few mains, most of which were vegetarian. I can't say I was exactly blown away by any of these dishes, but they were all very good and certainly complemented quite nicely by the rice. (We also got a basket of different kinds of naan, but these were dry and lifeless.) The only flat-out bad dish was a plate of tandoori-cooked chicken, as these pieces were flavorless and oddly soft. Still, Khau Gully mostly impressed everyone at the table and I'd certainly return to try more of their offerings (and to order that appetizer again).

Yelp
Overall the veg food is good and one chicken dish which is garnished by egg and rice. Other than that I would strictly suggest not to order any lamb dish special Kashmiri Rogan Josh. They will try to sell food and will force you to order more but it tastes very very bad. Some servers are very rude.

Michael N.

Yelp
Delicious food and a really interesting space (especially for midtown). Staff is friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Went here on a saturday night. Ambience was terrible no music or anything and their kitchen clearly doesn't have a strong hood range to suck up all the smell and smoke. The service was horrible and rushed and the tables were quite sticky to be honest. Food was ok for example the biryani was just rich mixed with sauce and baked clearly. Lacked depth of flavour versus other more basic takeout places. A lot of their dishes are overpriced and just ok. Honestly not worth the money.

Yelp
Got here for a dinner with my hubby on a Tuesday. Not many people. Ambience is great. Food was amazing. Friendly crew, they care about the customers. We ordered butter garlic naan and kofta shaam savera along with vegetable biryani. Everything was fresh and awesome taste. My husband enjoyed masala papad. We will keep coming back!

Yelp
Good spot for good Indian food in Toronto! I felt some items didn't meet my preferred spice level for certain indian cuisine, otherwise quality and tasty food.

Yelp
One of the best Indian restaurants in Toronto, hands down. We got the Chicken Dum Biranyi (9/10) and the Methi Palak Da Murgh (10/10). Absolutely delicious!

Yelp
Last weekend was be there for my FIRST trying Indian food . Outstanding first expression! It's really hard to persuade me to try Indian food before. Coz I am not comfortable the eating style. BUT , I was wrong, after went there. They also provide the spoon and fork tho The reason I would like to write a review for them bcoz it's was really changed my mind and looking forward to having again. Tasted starting with chicken boneless, I like that three different dipping sources, it's hard to tell the taste, but you can get three different favour chicken. Well , i don't really remember their names in each dishbut I only can show you the picture what I had and were worth to recommend. The rice one, it must try , I chooses shrimp inside, when i dip the rice , I found out so many roasted shrimp with spice inside, it was a bit spicy, but I mixed with rice , get balance After all finished my meal, it was soooo nice that they gave us the warm cleaning towel with single bag. So nice, so sweet!

Yelp
As a fan favourite on several food blogs, we knew we had to give this restaurant a try. We came here for dinner on a weekend, and boy did the place fill up fast! You'll definitely want to make a reservation for larger parties. Between the dine-in tables and takeout orders, it's full of hustle and bustle. The service was very attentive before the restaurant got super busy. Our server took the time to walk through the menu with us and offer her personal suggestions to try. After some time poring over the extensive menu, we decided on: - Bhindi rajasthani: Crispy fried okra, seasoned with dry spices. Tastes just like you would expect from looking at pictures. Served with papadum (crisp flatbread). Well-seasoned and tasty, but IMO a tad expensive at $12.90. - Lagan ka murg: Advertised by our server as an alternative to the classic butter chicken; a chicken curry with base of cashew, onion, and saffron. Alert, this dish was extremely salty! You must order carbs separately. We chose butter naan for $3, but in retrospect should have gone with plain naan for $2.45 or basmati rice for $3.50. - Chicken dum biryani: Fragrant basmati rice with flavourful chicken, finished with a blanket of naan over top. This dish was also on the salty side, saved only by the accompanying raita (yogurt-based condiment). Portion could have been bigger at $16.95. The atmosphere is lively, with vibrant, eye-catching decor. I really did appreciate the interior design; the colour scheme even extended to the bathroom. It lends a unique charm to the restaurant. All in all, a solid pick for Indian food in midtown Toronto.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely delicious! Best Indian food in midtown Toronto, hands down. The butter chicken, rice, naan and gulap jamun are divine! You won't be disappointed by ordering from here! We will definitely order again!

Yelp
Didn't know what to expect but certainly with a few South Asian friends of mine and wow, I was not disappointed. I had the chicken tikka masala lunch combo and got the naan. The portions were big, there was a lot of meat and it definitely filled me up. I even asked for extra spicy and they delivered. I also sampled my friends butter chicken and it was amazing as well. So decadent and rich. My other friend also really enjoyed his mango lassi. Good service but to be fair, there weren't too many people in the restaurant sadly. I don't understand why though because they were great! Maybe just a bit too far from the office buildings because it was a bit of a walk from Yonge/Eglinton. Overall I would definitely recommend this place for some authentic delicious Indian food. They had a vast menu, everything is accessible and plenty of space for even a stroller. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Came on a Thursday night and it sure had had satisfied my Indian food cravings. Between two people we ordered Khau Gully roasted chicken for appetizer, Tika Masala and vegetable beriyani as the 2 mains, and a portion of garlic naan. The meal came up to be around $55 including tax. It was no doubt extremely filling. It's more on the pricier side but it's definitely an Indian restaurant worth a visit if you're around Yonge between Eglinton or Davisville. They have quite a few selections and variety on their menu compared to other restaurants I've been to previously. The 4/5 rating was for the overall experience at the restaurant. The location, ambience, interior decor, and food made up the overall experience I had at the restaurant. There was nothing spectacular about the service as there weren't much interaction, but our server made sure our glasses were always filled with water - which is really needed after this meal! Will I be back? Yes, I would be interested in going back to try out more of their dishes.

Yelp
After ordering from Khau Gully a couple times lately I had to update my review to a solid 5 stars! They're offering a 10% discount on delivery/takeout right now (order directly from them!) so it's a good time to try them -- they really are the best Indian food in Midtown. Every dish we've had has been super flavourful. If you're a butter chicken fan but want to try something new, the lazeez chicken tikka masala is SO delicious, garlicky, a touch creamy but not overly so, my favourite dish from here so far. They've got a tandoor so their grilled dishes and naan are excellent. It's worth it to try a grilled dish from here because not all Indian places offer these types of dishes (hare pyaaz mahi tikka - which was done with salmon, was grilled to perfection). Loads of vegetarian/vegan dishes available too (the bhindi masala, an okra dish, is amazing). On top of all that, the service is wonderful.

Yelp
This is a new restaurant and an absolute gem of it! I walked in with my parents to celebrate their anniversary and we were not disappointed. The food is unique, flavourful, high-quality and authentic! Despite being a new restaurant, the service was superb and attentive. A very welcoming environment and the servers and managers came to check in several times. We felt totally at home! As for the food, where can I begin?? The dum mutton biryani was bursting with flavours. Very well cooked, the meat was tender and the creative presentation of it was a nice touch. The butter chicken and mixed veggie in their special sauce was delish. The lamb chops were falling off the bones but the portions were a little small. Regardless, it was packed with flavour. My parents loved the masala papad and have been talking about it to this date. We also had the masala chai which was good but were too full from the food to order dessert. Next time, we will definitely try their cute desserts served in clay pots.

Yelp
This is probably the best Indian food i've had in Toronto so far. They opened doors to public in the beginning of 2018 and they have already become fairly popular because of their lip-smacking food that instigates the right taste buds, flawless service and convenient location (Just a 3 min walk from Davisville TTC station). To top it all, they use freshest of ingredients and do not use canned products*. I've been there twice and enjoyed my experience both the times. First Visit: The first time I went there, they were serving out of their Mother's day special menu. I ordered the Murgh Dariya Dil (not to miss out on the name - hard to forget) which was a bath of spinach curry with a chicken dish in tomato gravy within it. It looked a bit weird but it was probably the best North Indian mughlai dish i've had in Toronto. Since we were their first customers to ever occupy the patio, they offered us complementary masala chai. And again the masala chai was probably the best that I've had in the greater Toronto area. Second Visit: We ordered their Paneer Tikka and it was not only marinated well in spices and cooked well but also stuffed with Mozzarella cheese that have a kick to the whole dish. (I highly recommend getting this as one of your appetizers). For main course, I got Murgh (Chicken) Patiala, which was minded chicken shwarma rolles in an omelette dipped in tomato gravy. You can tell that a lot of thought and preparation has gone on coming up with these dishes. Have a look at the pictures to get an idea about the place and their toothsome food!

Yelp
Overall experience was good. They had a dj the night i came in and it made my monday feel like a friday. Environment: cozy and welcoming feel. The murals in the place look pretty good. It seems to have 3 different areas which focus on different settings which is good. Service: very helpful and took the time to explain the dishes. They even went in depth to talk about the dishes they was to showcase in Toronto. Traditional with a modern twist. Food: tbh lots of indian restaurants seem the same, but you can always tell the ones who use quality and i can assure you that Khau Gully tries to offer quality taste and flavour. I recommend the chicken mango salad and the lamb stew. Price: a little bit pricey but considering the area its actually fairly priced. Will definitely come back with frienda as it has a chilling vibe to it.

Yelp
Date Visited : 22nd Sep '19 Came here with a group of friends looking for an authentic Indian experience and wasn't disappointed one bit The service was excellent, portions we're generous and food was quite authentic. Unfortunately we couldn't have the Goan Fish curry as it was not available so we ordered the Methi Palak instead which was also quite good. The highlights of the meal were the Kebab Platter and Gulab Jamun Cheesecake The bill came to $210 for 6 adults and 1 kid with drinks.

Yelp
VEGAN OPTIONS - Yes. But I chose non-vegan options. This place is outstanding - a true gem found on my last trip to back home to Toronto. Everything my husband and I ordered was on point and *delicious*! We started with veg samosas - they were very good, and not greasy or heavy at all. The real star dish was, of course, the Dum Biryani. We ordered the veg version. It was out of this world. The rice was infused with so much flavour, and although it's definitely enough for 2 people to share, we easily could have eaten one each out of sheer gluttony and appreciation of the tastiness! For dessert, we split a Pista Kulfi. This was also a hit. No ice crystals in this kulfi, just delicious and creamy, the way kulfi should be. We had a chance to chat with the owner, and he was super nice, and extremely vegan knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Amazing restaurant. One of the rare places that has a few Burmese dishes on the menu which was a very pleasant surprise. The story of the owners is pretty neat. Great flavor, very lively vibe, and the food was served relatively quickly.

Yelp
While I was overwhelmed with excitement over the fact that the Davisville area had another Indian restaurant to try out, I was left with a flow of questions that leave me wondering if I'd come back again. Why such a steep price? - I understand that the type of ingredients in a majority of Indian cuisine are pretty expensive. Despite that, I don't expect to see less of what I ordered and more side dishes to fill you up instead. I ordered the Lazeez Murg Tikka Masala (Chicken Tikka Masala, if you will) which same in a small bowl with another bowl of basmati rice, salad, and what looked to be chickpea curry. All of this for $16.55. Why is there 'frozen vegetable medley' in my basmati rice? - As the dish was laid in front of me, I looked at my basmati rice confused. This was the first time I saw, what I assume to be, frozen vegetables (peas, carrots and corn) in my rice. Didn't really add to the basmati rice. In fact, it looked of lesser value than I would assume it'd be. Why are there so many different things on my plate? - I didn't really care for the salad and chickpea curry, if I didn't order it. If that was the reason for the $16.55, I'd rather not have it and pay less. The Chicken Tikka Masala itself was pretty good regardless. The chicken was cooked gorgeously tender and the aroma of the masala was intoxicating. I do have to point out that my first spoonful of the masala was a bit on the gritty side though... Masala mix that didn't blend well enough? Who knows. There's a lot of work to be done here at Khau Gully, but with improvements I think it can stand with the rest of the Indian restaurants in the area, because none of them are really good.

Yelp
My son and I wanted good Indian food yesterday, so we chose Khau Gully on the advice of a couple of friends at work. We were not disappointed. This is certainly the best Indian food outlet we have had the chance to experience in Toronto, and I have tried many. Loved every dish, in particular the aloo vada slider and the veg biryani. We will return.

Yelp
The customer service was definitely 5 stars. Extremely polite, friendly and helpful. The place itself is 5 stars as it's very beautiful. Amazing decor. Amazing atmosphere. Very clean. The food was average. Portions and sizes average. The cottage cheese stuffed mozzarella was extremely salty and so was lagan ka murg. We were all very thirsty the whole evening. Naan was kind of dry. The cheese naan was excellent. The biriani rice was excellent. The mango lassi and the salty lassi were delicious. The lentil soup and the home style dal were delicious as well.

Yelp
So, a large group of 12 friends decided to jam at Khau Gully to explore Indian cuisine! We're all Indians from different parts of India so this seemed a great meetup! Since our orders were extensive, I don't want to emphasize much on the flavor. I detested my fish fry! It was zero in flavor and very high on price. The main course dishes were not bad.. we ordered a lamb gravy that was tomato based and a dum biryani that was not too bad, and you can't go wrong with naans ever. The deserts which the manager/ owner kept promoting were average good! I wish I could be happy about the dishes but I truly wasn't.. and when the bill came! Well let's say, we haven't been able to go out to dine in a while, with the entire hole in the pocket :( Top Top points for wonderful hospitality ofcourse

Yelp
Pretty good! I ordered the lunch combo and got the Awahdi Subzi (mixed vegetables in a creamy tomato cashew sauce with crunchy nuts sprinkled on top) as a main, which also included naan, rice, salad and daahl as part of the combo for roughly $14. While the combo is a good deal, the combo items themselves aren't that great. The naan was a little bland and dry, the daahl didn't have much flavour beyond the taste of salt, and the salad was mostly just boring lettuce. However the Awahdi was really really good and full of flavour- I'd definitely recommend it and order it again. I think the next time I come back I'll just order a main dish with no combo. I also got the chai tea which was amazing. It's the real stuff cooked on a stovetop- no dinky store bought tea bags. It was so good my only complaint is it comes in a super tiny cup. Still worth it for the flavour though. Khao Gully will probably be a new regular spot for me.

Yelp
Loved the place. Loved their biryani served in those pots. Food presentation was really exceptional. Food service was also very commendable. Decor is great. Only thing I don't like was one of the fish curry dishes.

Yelp
Good food, good portion sizes. Would recommend their biryanis and naan. One of the rare places where the actual presentation matches the advertised photos.
