Khu Khu Eatery - Ponsonby Branch

This place has the most amazing food ever. The “beef” in the massaman curry is one of the best meat substitutes i have ever had. I also had the chicken sweet and sour which was absolutely amazing and the tofu satay which was great as well. Tried the spring rolls and wasnt as impressed as i thought i would be, wish i tried the fresh ones instead. Only down side is that it is incredibly expensive. I got myself an app, main, and a tea and spent $60

Booked to go via First Table for 5 pm. Never been so was looking forward to trying. Service was lovely and it was early so still quiet. All the good ordered was delicious, so much so we ordered seconds of some of them. All the dishes were fresh and well made, service was good and what a deal on first table. Highlight was the papaya salad and the tofu starter. Would happily go back!

I had the most superb 70th birthday party at Khu Khu (Ponsonby) on Thursday night where Michael and Yash made sure my 25 non vegan friends had the best time ever before we went to the pub choir. For 2 hours they kept the food and wine flowing and my friends were simply blown away by the standard of food and service.. I can't recommend Khu Khu Highly enough for intimate gatherings or functions. A total delight ! Ashleigh Ogilvie-Lee

We were up visiting from Rotorua (26-07-25 9.30pm) decided to do the bottomless brunch/dinner - Food was amazing - We had kūmara spring rolls and the Pad Thai 10/10 for both! Drinks were delish. Also would love to give a massive shout out to our server! Such a lovely person with a beautiful presence that made everyone feel welcome. On the ball the whole 2hrs we were there - and dishing the drinks out super fast for us all.

Probably the best vegan experience I've had. Never even questioned the lack of meat as everything was so well seasoned and flavourful. The meals were filling and satisfying. And the vegan twists on typical 'meats' were cleverly done. They had some fun cocktails available, and the option for a fun tower beer. Lovely service.

I’ve been to Khu Khu several times and sadly, the food is very inconsistent. Portion sizes, flavour, and presentation vary too much. The Double Crispy Satay Tofu used to be my favourite, but the sauce now tastes bland and barely peanutty. Desserts are also disappointing—tiny portions and not worth the price. For how expensive it is, the quality just doesn’t match. Really wanted to love this place, but it’s lost its spark.

Fantastic vegan Asian food. We've never had vegan duck before so that was in both of our dishes. The desserts- also vegan- are also delicious
