Ki Japanese Cafe isn’t really about 5-star food quality — I’d say the food and drinks itself is around 3/5 — but that’s honestly not the point of coming here. What makes this place special is the vibe. You can sit down, relax, and have Japanese food and desserts while browsing through shelves of Japanese manga right at your fingertips. It feels like a cozy little manga café where you can slow down and enjoy the atmosphere. If you’re expecting a high-end Japanese dining experience, this might not be it. But if you want a unique, chill spot to hang out, read manga, snack, and enjoy the ambience, it’s definitely worth visiting. A fun and different experience, especially for anyone who loves Japanese culture and manga.

The cafe is so cute!!!! The decorations and place feel so comfortable and the staff are very nice. All the food was pretty tasty. There’s a key for the bathroom. There’s no wifi and also not allowed to bring laptops and work. But it would be a great place to read manga, practice Japanese, or talk with friends, and also take pictures!

Staff is friendly and nice. It's a very nice place to hangout, read a book while enjoying your favourite treat! Also the restroom is the best I have seen so far here in Canada. The whole place was so neat and clean. The taste of the cakes feels like I am in Japan. Thumbs up for the interior, taste of the food and the staff! 💗💗💗💗💗

Not too busy on a Sunday afternoon. My kids loved the variety of Manga that they can read, which they can't even find in the local libraries. No more waffles, which is a bit of a disappointment since I wanted to try the okonomiyaki waffle. I had the sausage curry omurice instead. It comes with fried rice, which was a bit over fried, so it tasted a bit hard. The curry sauce could be more savory and even a bit more spicy. For drinks I ordered the blue rose and ube taro latte. Both drinks were very sweet, but the blue rose was very very large. Worth the price and was a tasty lychee flavour. Not sure where the rose comes into play. Ube taro latte was very very sweet, but also tasty. We did end up diluting it with some hot water. Lastly, I ordered the tiramisu. The crust on the bottom was surprisingly savory and had s good tart texture. We enjoyed it and the lady fingers were soft. Great place to sit in and read some Manga. Kids were quietly reading for a good hour and half. Food was not bad and drinks are worth the price. Great visit.

I came here for an event and thoroughly enjoyed the decorations they set up. The special menu they had was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. Their desserts were yummy and enjoyed the special drinks, perfect for the hot day. The atmosphere was top notch and a great place to come to if you want to hang out and just talk with friends and family. They have a section of manga books. Great place to unwind.

Such a dreamy place with so much good stuff on an extensive menu. Totally filled the craving on a good sugarless matcha with the coldbrew option and I wish it would be more normalized to have zero sugar in drinks like this. The Sakura cake was so good with a special lychee taste and enjoyed the subtle hints of Earl Grey vanilla and basil in it too 🍣 the vibes of everyone was great too and went back to try the parfait before cherry blossom food fest would end and it was so good and dreamy too, not too heavy with heavenly lychee/Sakura/rose flavors and soft cake and corn flakes and red bean 🍧🌸🌰🌹🫘🍰

I had the most incredible experience at Ki Cafe. The green tea parfait was extremely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. I can't wait to come back and try more items from your menu. I found lots of my favourite anime comic books. I really enjoyed my time here. Definitely a new favorite spot! Especially the nicely decorated piano🎹💗

Haven't been here in years. it was really nice to come back after their soft re-opening. Love the vibes, and the decor has so much care and work put into it. Got the seasonal Sakura items. The cake was definitely my favourite.

I tried my friend's curry and it's so delicious. The curry is quite strong for japanese curry. I like the deep fried onion or garlic(?) on top. It's a really good addition. The vibe of the cafe is nice but it's smaller than expected. There is a guy playing the piano when I arrived and it feels very welcoming here. The only downside is not being able to study here and there is a limit of 60 minutes to stay. This is, however, a good place to hang out with friends or have some alone time and read the manga available.

This review is strictly from my last visit about 10days ago. I have been here many times and loved everything here. My favorite dish was their Demiglace Omurice, deep fried chicken and desserts. I always order the same things. But during my last visit, the omurice was a disaster. Let me break it down. Visual - 0 points. 1. The egg presentation was visually unimpressive. (But I can still accept) 2. The demi glacé looks very runny (watery ). Visually unappealing. ( thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt) Taste - 0 point 1. The Demi glacé tasted under cooked and from a package. It's almost like they just opened a package of jus and mixed with water. 2. The rice. It taste like overnight leftover rice. The chicken or fish couldn't tell was large chunks and hard. Definitely tasted like it was heated many times. Almost cardboard like. This WAS my favorite place, but not anymore. What a disappointment? I will never return again. I loved their fried chicken but they no longer have that. However, their matcha Parfait is still very good. But not enough to get me to go there just for that.

We came to Ki Cafe a couple of times during the summer, and tried out some of their savory foods as in the past we had only ever ordered sweets. My daughter tried out their Omurice and I tried their Okonomiyaki Waffle. Both items were quite good. The Okonomiyaki Waffle was especially interesting as Okonomiyaki is usually a pancake, and not a waffle. Also ordered some ice cream sundae creations as they were participating in the Vancouver Ice Cream Festival again. The ice cream was good but not so good to warrant the price tag on it.I don't know why I allow myself to get sucked into buying these things as I really do think these Ice Cream Festival items are overpriced and overrated. This was the only time I ordered a festival item this year though whereas last year we ordered from several different vendors. Maybe by next year I will skip the festival altogether!

This cafe is great for customers who love manga and anime. There are several anime figures and tons of manga comic books on the shelves. Customers can read them while they stay in the cafe. This time, I visited the cafe for the Nomsmag Ice Cream Festival and ordered the festival special ice cream item. Matsuri Parfeit A festival-inspired delight with light sponge, whipped cream, cornflakes, green apple syrup, lychee jelly, strawberries, taiyaki fish, and pineapple bits. It had very pretty appearance that caught my eye on IG. The soft serve was delicious, though the flavor was a bit weak. I really enjoyed lychee jelly and cornflakes which matched well with soft serve. The green apple syrup was too sweet for my liking, and both sponge and taiyaki needed more refinement. My partner ordered Mango haroharo but I didn't try it. Overall I really enjoyed this impactful item and its presentation was definitely one of the best at this year's ice cream fes!

Ki Cafe is a popular cafe located just minutes from the Royal Oak SkyTrain station. Today was my first time going there, but I've heard all good things from friends and on social media over the years. For the most part, the cafe lived up to its hype. Aesthetically, the space was very cozy and kawaii (a way to describe cute things in Japanese culture). The menu has a lot of sweet and savoury options, along with bubble tea. I was able to order right away and snag one of the last few remaining tables. My cousin was with me too -- we each received buzzers and got our food and drinks at the same time, which was nice. I got the okonomiyaki waffle and a sesame oolong milk tea. My cousin had a matcha waffle and some sort of bingsoo/slush drink. I'll just be commenting on my order, since we didn't end up splitting everything. The waffle was perfect. It was light and fluffy, topped with all the umami goodness you expect from okonomiyaki (e.g. bonito flakes, green onions, Kewpie mayo and special sauce). There was also a poached egg to make the dish even more satisfying. The milk tea, on the other hand, was just okay. I ordered it quarter-sweet and with pearls, though neither of those things were an issue. Sweetness level was just where I liked it (not overwhelming the tea flavour, but helping smooth out the sometimes grassy taste of oolong) and the pearls were fresh (you can tell by the chew). It was the sesame that knocked everything out of balance. I could tell it was some sort of paste they tried to incorporate into the drink, but it didn't blend very well, so every sip was granular and left bits of black sesame stuck in my teeth. Definitely not enjoyable. I took it home and strained out the sesame. I would go back for the food. As for the drinks...maybe just stick to regular tea or coffee.

Cute little cafe with a fun vibe. Loved the mango crunch parfait because you could taste so many different textures! It was a pleasure to eat till the very last bite!

This was my second time going to Ki Cafe and I got the lemon cheesecake. I wasn't the biggest fan because the cake felt like a slice of thick jello and was quite sweet. The cafe itself was very pretty and my friend and I got nice photos but I think the other items on the menu (such as the omurice) are better!

Ordered the curry omurice. The portion is huge, there are some chicken pieces inside. Taste-wise it's 7.5/10. There was a guy who played the piano so beautifully it was really loud inside though, it was difficult to hold a conversation because of how loud it is.

Ki Cafe is truly one of a kind japanese cafe in the south Burnaby area. The drinks and food are good, I really like their tea cappuccinos with the cream cheese foam. For food, they make great fried chicken if your in the mood for a quick snack and a variety of cute (and not too sweet) cakes. I really like the anime/manga atmosphere and they have a huge collection of manga and anime character figurines. Perfect place for a Sunday hangout!

KI'ing up for some sweets... Decided to check this place out to see if it can satisfy my sweet tooth after a so so lunch. It is a compact little place with half a dozen of tables and chairs, extra seatings along the window, counter and kitchen to the back. And with signs posted at every table saying it's a notebook or laptop free zone... lmao!! (Yeah no pretendous studying or working here, there's Tinder for that). Here were the sweets I ordered; 1. Melona. Nice little melon slush, not overly sweet so that's refreshing for a hot day. 2. Sakura yogurt mousse. Tasty little drink for the Sakura lovers. 3. Sakura parfait. Nice little parfait, ingredients blended together nicely but I found the matcha ice cream could be a bit smoother, perhaps a finer matcha powder? 4. Macarons 3pc pack (raspberry, pistachio, passion fruit). Pretty basic but decently okay. I can see that this place gets busy during the warmer weather seasons especially when it's located close to the Royal Oak skytrain station and by all the new condos. Service wise, it was okay and pretty basic. And of course a little improvement in this department wouldn't hurt cause it might bring back a few extra repeats during the winter season. The food was overall pretty decent. It had a little bit of everything from drinks to desserts and to some waffle combos. Almost reminded me a smaller version of La Foret up the streets?

RAMUNE ICE CREAM The @nomsmag Ice Cream Festival adventure continues with my second stop being @ki.teacafe This adorable anime manga cafe in Burnaby has been the go to hangout spot in the neighbourhood for years. I remember always visiting when I went to school in the area, it's so cool to see how their manga collection has grown. To celebrate the arrival of summer, they've released a new menu filled with ramune inspired treats. They also still have their seasonal mango soft serve available, so I opted for a twisted sundae with the mango and ramune flavours. The ramune soda flavour and mango worked so well together, every bit was super refreshing and not too sweet. We were also able to try some of their other ramune themed desserts and drinks which were all super cute and fun. The staff are just plain rude. Extremely limited menu selection. Location is not convenient and difficult to find parking. The only thing that is posifor this restaurant is the ambiance. Service is extremely slow with just 1 person preparing and cooking the food. The food and drinks are mediocre at best. Would not recommend or come back.

This was a gem of a cafe in Burnaby, and it was such a gorgeous place to enjoy some food, drinks and chat with friends. This cafe has an anime theme, with lots of mangas for you to read if you're interested. There is a wide variety to choose from, and I highly recommend browsing to see what's available. They have a good menu size, with food (savoury and sweet) and drinks option. The cashier I spoke to was pleasant and the food came out very quickly. Food was fresh, delicious and looked great. Some of the items were on the pricier side in my opinion, but nothing too crazy for a cafe in this area. There is paid street parking up front, maximum 2 hours. The cafe also has signs recommending people to be mindful of how long they're there if it is busy (which it can get busy and it's not a very large cafe) and does not recommend having laptops or screens. So, this isn't the cafe to do any work on your laptop. Perhaps books and notebooks are ok, but the vibe is definitely to encourage conversations, and avoiding screens.

This place was pretty busy for a Friday afternoon. Tables were all full and there was a small line when we came in. Service was still quick and efficient. Street parking is available in front of the establishment. We ordered matcha and cheese egg tarts, as well as a strawberry soft serve, coco mango boba, and strawberry cheesecake frappe. The egg tarts were nice and soft. The cheese tart reminds me of the texture and taste of Japanese soufflé cheesecakes. The strawberry soft serve was delicious, sweet and creamy. The drinks were also good! For the manga selection, they do carry some rare titles that would be interesting reads. The rest of the interior was very cute, and fulfills the aesthetic points.

What a wonderful little neighbourhood cafe right beside Royal Oak station. We ordered the Real Taro Cream and Matcha Salt to drink, and to eat was the Fried Chicken Waffles with Honey and Chicken Karaage in Honey with Garlic Butter Sauce (8 pieces), dessert was Matcha Baked Cheese Tarts. I love their lengthy menu with lots of drink choices. Ki Cafe is cute with anime and manga along a wall and faux plants hanging too. One stand-out thing about Ki Cafe is their policy for not allowing laptops. It's a pet peeve of mine when you go to a cafe and order, then look for a place to sit and people are treating it like a library rather than a cafe. Instead, people come here to meet with friends and enjoy food or a drink, it's refreshing to see and something I appreciate.

I see they have renovated since the pandemic. The space is richer and more vibrant now than before. The interior has levelled up, while maintaining the bookshelf on the side and the piano by the entrance. I came by for SHINEE Day and they offered more menu items than usual. I ordered their Odorable Cheese (Broccoli Cheddar Cheese Tart⁠) and the Diamond Sky⁠ (Lychee Melon Yogurt Refresher w/ Crystal Ball). The tart was creamy and cheesy - the lady at the till offered to have it warmed up, and that made such a difference! I would come back for it if they put it in their regular menu.!The drink was refreshing on a warm sunny day. I enjoyed the chewy 'crystal ball' although I wish the size of the cup was bigger. I asked for my order for to-go and I appreciate their to-go packaging. It was in a nice Ki Cafe branded bag with proper handle. I hope this cafe continues to support events like this! I would love to come back for more.

Great place to stop by for an afternoon treat! We ordered some of their Sakura items and I'd recommend trying these out if you can! The Sakura soft serve has a delicate floral and sweet taste, which was refreshing as most places would have it cherry flavoured. We also ordered a Taiwan fresh milk tea and a melona slush. The drinks were just ok to me. Would recommend their honey garlic fried chicken from their permanent menu and their matcha roll cake. The ambience and interior decor is top notch and they have manga available for you to read. One thing to note is that they don't have wifi and it is a laptop free space. Staff is friendly and they don't charge for takeout containers, which is a plus for me!

Cute little cafe near the train station. I found them on my social media, I really wanted their parfait. Came in on a late Saturday afternoon, it was busy but we got a table. My husband got the karage bowl and I got the mango parfait. Both tasted yummy, great summer treat. The cafe is cute with amine decor. Overall we had a great experience, now open late which is a bonus nothing in this area is open late.

Neat little anime/manga themed coffee/dessert place by Royal Oak station. If this is your thing, then it's worth a visit for sure. Parking is available on Royal Oak. The interior has a lot of anime figurines, and a whole wall of manga (Japanese comic books). The place also has a jungle forest atmosphere, with leaves and fake branches all over the ceiling. Prettty neat I must say. The cafe does serve some hot food such as waffles and fried chicken, as well as cold desserts and bubble tea. As others have mentioned, they have a policy of no working for customers. In other words, come here to chill and maybe read some manga, but don't come here to study or work. I tried the blue rose bubble tea. To be honest it was decent but nothing too special.

Super cute cafe in Burnaby near the Royal Oak station. Please note they don't want people studying here; there's a sign that specifically says the cafe is a "laptop free and no studying zone". My friends and I came by Saturday around 11 and it wasn't too crowded. The first thing you notice is that it's beautiful inside, with all the greenery hanging off the ceiling and the giant tree in the cafe. They also have a giant wall of manga you can peruse from, with selections both in English and Japanese. Overall I really liked the vibe here! Because we came on a weekend morning, we were able to catch their brunch menu. I had the kalbi spam and scrambled eggs ($16), which is served on a brioche bun with potatoes and arugula on the side. My food came out within 10-15 minutes, but surprisingly my friend who ordered after me had to wait almost 30 minutes for her dish. Not sure what the hold up was... Overall I liked my dish. The eggs were very soft, and the kalbi spam was very flavorful. Sadly I couldn't tell it was kalbi spam at all, just tasted like regular spam to me. They also offer a good selection of drinks here, so I tried the Galaxy since it looked so colorful on the menu. It's a blueberry lychee soda slush with mango jelly and was pretty good. My friends and I were sitting here chatting until almost 4. At some point, we realized the menu changed to more lunch-y items and waffles, so we decided to split the matcha chocolate waffle (~$14). It was really good, especially with the crunchy cereal bits on top! It's metered parking right in front of the cafe, but there's also free 3-hour residential parking a block or two away!

My partner wanted to visit this cafe because she heard they have a whole wall of manga. When we arrived, it looked very cozy and clean (and of course all the manga and figurines were awesome!). We tried their Oyako Rice and everything on that dish (including the salad) was stellar. The egg was perfectly cooked, placed over the rice, and literally just melts in your mouth (my partner had high remarks about the omurice because she makes it quite often). At first I wasn't a fan of their chicken karaage because of the sauce they used, but I did warm up to the flavours and was tasty. Having a great experience the first time, we decided to go again because they had a new brunch menu. We tried their Shimeji Garden Toast and Kalbi Spam and Egg dish and unfortunately it was quite disappointing. The sauce they used for the dishes just did not sit well for our palettes and we barely finished them. We hope to come back here again to try their other homestyle meals!

when i was a student i used to come here to study but I hadn't been in an few years until this past weekend. i was surprised and excited to see the renovations - i absolutely loved the new interior decorations and new menu items they have! i love the wall of anime figures and the manga wall. the big tree and hanging plants from the ceiling also give a very whimsical feel to the place. i got the matcha parfait and it was really good! the matcha flavor of the ice cream was really strong, and all the textures and flavors of the parfait layers went really well together. the staff is also very friendly. i would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a unique, cute cafe to hang out with your friends. just note they don't allow laptops anymore so it wouldn't be a good place to study.

This cafe looks so really good inside, good for your insta pics. There is a piano when you enter and a wall filled with manga at the back. Everywhere inside has a green theme. They have signs on each table to not use your laptops and encouraging to socialize instead. I got the Galaxy drink which looked gorgeous and lives up to it's name. Be warned that it is sweet, has plenty of mango jelly which I love. Their food menu items look interesting and would definitely try the omurice on my next visit.

Cute cafe. A bit of a journey to go for me since I am not in the area, but if you're in the area it would be a great place to sit and read, and enjoy a sunday afternoon. Food was alright, nothing to write home about, and drinks were alright too. I think the desserts are the stand out for the food. Lots of manga on selection if you choose to read. Unfortunately, the day I went, it was very loud and overrun by groups, so I didn't sit and enjoy

I came here to meet up with a friend since this is the most convenient spot for him to catch up. I have tried two of their drinks and I have to say it is nothing special. I tried the Matcha Azuki $6.50 and the Strawberry Cheesecake Frappe $6.50 on two different days. They are a good size but I found the drinks having a bit too much ice to the point that the flavor of the drink was somewhat bland. Drinks are really 3 stars. I have a feeling that their desserts are a lot better. Looks like most people here order their desserts and not their drinks. They do offer lunch and dinner items as well. Maybe I need to try that another time. Ki Cafe is a great place to meet up with friends. It opens late every night to 10:30 pm. They changed their policy and they do not allow use of laptop or using their cafe as a studying area. I am guessing they lost a lot of business because of that. The decor here is pretty nice. The place is really busy at night and can get very noisy when having a conversation with a friend. Parking is available on the street and depending on what time you come, parking is free (when meter is not in effect).

Ambiance was fantastic! Drinks were super tasty. They had a manga wall! Free trading. Great place to hang out.

Asian cafe near the Royal Oak sky train station. Very distinctive interior with a lot of plants (real and fake), including a fake tree. On the wall near the entrance, there is a really old piano(?) followed by a shelf of anime/manga figures and then several bookshelves full of manga volumes for customer's reading pleasure. I spotted a few well known series such as Bleach, Nana, Slam Dunk etc. As for the food and drinks, they have bubble tea, slushies and those types of sweet drinks. I got a matcha slushie. First time I had a matcha flavored slushie, and it probably tasted like what I should expected. Probably would order something else next time. My friend got a drink and a sweet parfait/cake in a jar, and said the cake was too sweet for his liking. They also have savory food but I didn't try it. Overall, it's a kind of a unique and neat place to hang out and read some manga. It's a pretty nice place to hang out and read some manga. The place also has a policy of no laptops and doesn't provide wifi, so nobody is gonna be working or studying there.

First things first, I was blown away by the aesthetics of this café. The last time I was here was at least 5 years ago, prior to their recent renovation. There's a wall full of manga, and lots of anime figures on display on the shelves. I love the green shrubbery décor, it feels quite magical. They usually play Japanese music of K-Pop. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. They have a no laptop policy for dine-in and is self-serve styled (order at the counter, they will bring you the food/drinks, but you put your own dishes away). I would caution that during peak hours, it gets extremely busy and the food/drinks take quite a while (ballpark at least half hour). Okonomiyaki Waffle ($12.50): This had perfect amount of sauce and was topped with a generous portion of bonito flakes & green onions. 10/10 would recommend, and the price is very reasonable to me. Omurice ($12.50): Omurice is a popular Japanese fusion dish that is a combination of a traditional Western omelette and Japanese fried rice, hence "Omelet rice = Omurice". There are only a few chunks of meat (chicken?), but overall, it is quite filling from the rice. I really enjoyed the flavour of the fried rice with hints of sourness from the ketchup and was extremely tasty. Peaches & Oolong Cream ($6): The oolong was very fragrant and strong. The "cream" portion wasn't overpowering, and is not similar to cheese foam. It's quite airy and blends well into the drink. I think their sweetness is already adjusted, as I did not find it too sweet even at regular sweetness (for reference, I always get 50% sugar at places like Chatime or Coco). Velvet-T ($6): such a yummy and refreshing blend of flavours, I had to ask the server what was in it because I couldn't pinpoint it. This drink is made with Lavender, Lemon, Mint & Strawberry. I had it at 75% sweetness. I also love the boba jelly/pearls, which has a nice bouncy texture for that added mouth-feel.

This is a cute little cafe right on royal oak. It was very busy at 1230pm on a Sunday. They have a contactless table ordering system that we could not get to work. We flagged down an employee and we're able to order shortly after. They have an expansive menu of bubble tea, pastries/cakes and hot lunch items including waffles and curries. We got the Okonomiyaki and karage curry as well as the strawberry shortcake. It was about a 40 min wait for our dishes and 5 mins for the strawberry shortcake which was in the display. The food was okay. The strawberry shortcake was quite dry and the $8 price tag felt a bit steep for it. The karage curry and okonomiyaki were both cold once we received them. They were both beautifully presented, but the flavours were on the mild side. This is not a place to study or work as they do not have wifi and signs everywhere saying laptops and books are not welcome. There isn't a water station and it is a bit challenging to catch an employee if you have a question or need something. Overall it's a cute cafe but the food and wait times left a bit to be desired.

Super fun cafe! There are multiple bookshelves of manage in Japanese and English. If you like to eat and read manga at the same time, then definitely recommend this cafe. I got their karage waffle and omurice. Their karage and waffle was delicious with crispy and juicy chicken pieces. Their waffles were freshly made and not overwhelmingly sweet; a good twist to the chicken and waffle. The omurice was okay, the chicken was dry and the rice was plain. Our friend let us tried the cheese tart and it was good. They have a huge selection of dessert choices. Good to stop by for tea time or afternoon snack/lunch.

I love how multi-purpose Ki Cafe is - at day, it's a cute spot to get bubble tea and lunch, and at night it's open late for hanging out, getting a drink before going home, and late night karaage. I really wish there was a Ki Cafe close to where I live! My friends and I came in the afternoon and had no trouble finding a spot. I ordered a Blue Rose with Lychee Jelly - unfortunately, the menu didn't mention that the jelly is actually coconut. The staff working let me switch my drink out to a Velvet-T with crystall pearls, which I enjoyed a lot more. As for food, I ordered the Demiglace Omurice since I was intrigued by the demiglace sauce. I didn't realize the fried rice had chicken on the inside, but noting that for any vegetarians who wouldn't realize. The Omurice was really yummy, but I tried my friend's Curry Omurice and the curry sauce is definitely better in my opinion. I also tried some of their karaage in honey garlic butter sauce, which is HEAVENLY. If I were to come again, I'd definitely get that. Anyways, the decor of Ki Cafe is amazing, with shelves of manga and manga/anime figurines. Love the Ghibli vibes! I'd love to come back and try other things on the menu or bring friends just to chill.

A year later, I was back with a few friends for a cool drink and 'snacks' on a hot summer day. My favourite place for bubble tea. I had their cold brew matcha tea (the perfect amount of matcha) while the others tried the honey Assam tea & Korean style sweet iced Americano. They sweeten their teas with honey. None of that fake syrupy stuff. If you're not a fan of bubble tea, they offer a range of cool drinks from the Taiwan milk tea to teacchino (cheese foam). We had a snack attack in the mid afternoon so we all shared the chicken karaage in honey garlic butter sauce (a nice buttery garlic flavour without the chicken being too dry) and the Okonomiyaki Waffle (a savoury waffle with Okonomiyaki sauce, mayo, bonito flakes, green onions, seaweed, and ginger). Both dishes were delish. The snacks offered were waffles, Omurice (Japanese omelette) and chicken karaage. Make sure you leave room for desserts.! A great place to hang out for readers of manga as they have a pretty decent library. You can't beat good ambience and tasty treats. There's seating inside and outside.

I loved the matcha blended boba drink! Excellent matcha quality! I also got to sample matcha soft serve for the first time, yum yum.

Since the last time we visited, Ki Tea House Cafe has expanded their dessert menu. They now offer Japanese pudding (black sesame, chocolate, and original flavour), tiramisu (sakura, coffee and berry flavour), Japanese souffle cheesecake, Matcha berry mousse cake, Russion tea cake, Lemon cheese cake, and Matcha roll cake. They never cease to surprise us with what they offer. Sakura Shake One of the fanciest shakes I've ever had! It had red bean on the bottom and was topped with pudding and salted cream! The shake had a light floral note to it and the flavours went together well. I wish that there was more flavour to the foam on top because it was quite neutral but otherwise, great drink! Sakura Mont Blanc I've never had a Sakura flavoured cake before so I was thoroughly intrigued! Grayson's favourite part was the shortbread crust on the bottom. It was nice and buttery but held up against the toppings on the inside. The paste on top had a light florally flavour to it that wasn't over the top. It had a layer of whipped cream under it and a strawberry was hidden underneath! I wasn't a fan of the strawberry part because it made the cake hard to eat.

Interesting cafe. I love the concept that this is a place to talk to your friends, and not a place to do work. I ordered a few warm drinks, and they were just ok. I came to visit a few times here with some friends. It's cool if you're into animated shows, or stuff like that. I am not really into that. If you are interested in anime, this place is for you!

LOVE!!!!! I wish we have a place like this in the US. This place reminded me of those manga cafes in Taiwan I used to frequent when I was a kid. They have an entire wall of manga (available in different languages) and cool figures to look at. Heck they even have a piano and Animenz piano sheets to play! If you're into Japanese anime and manga culture you will definitely find this place a heaven. Even if you aren't, lemme tell you the food and drinks are fantastic too! I recommend the fried chicken omurice. The chicken is so crispy and juicy, packed with flavor, it reminded me of those konbini fried chicken in Japan (they're the best). I can't recommend this place enough and I miss going back all the time. Please continue to support this wonderful cute cafe! *Note: this isn't your place for studying or working as there is a time limit and no laptop rules, so just come here to chill and have a good time!

Their mango and matcha twist was reaallly good. For those that enjoy gelato over creamy ice cream, you'll really enjoy this twist. Pretty good size as well! Had a lot of other desserts available at the time I went, 9pm Wed, but only had space for the ice cream. Would most likely be going back for another dessert some day :)

If you love Japanese culture and anime, you will love this cafe. Decorated with a sense of style from the Totoro movie by Ghibi Studios, the nature theme was jam packed and surely enlightened the dining experience. For a limited time, their seasonal sakura menu will be available until end of this month. Come check out one of their feature products, a Japanese-inspired parfait made with fresh cream, agar jelly, sakura sponge, cornflakes, sago, red bean, strawberry pocky and sakura/matcha soft serves. We really enjoyed the vibrant mix of colors, flavours, and textures. The infusion of the sago was genius. The fragrance of the sakura was delicate, and a great contrast to the earthy green tea. And it was just the perfect size and temperature for the warm weather.

This place is a very cute comic theme cafe. A really good place to meet friends and catch up. We mostly just had their soft serve and drinks - all were good. However, there were hardly vegetarian options available here.

Their soft serve ice-cream was not authentic. Both flavours (matcha and mango) were thick, not sweet, powdery, and icy. They looked much more green and yellow than the picture on the menu because they used powder and ice more than milk. They were not milky at all and you could not really taste the flavours. If they were genuine soft serve ice-cream, the colour should not be that dark if they used the appropriate milk volume, and they should be sweet and soft. They should call it frozen dessert because that is misleading.

First Time ever coming to this café, and for sure it wont be the last, hidden right in plain sight is this gem. They have the craziest interior design with an amazing menu with amazing food, desserts and drinks. * Oyako rice ($17.50) ~ This was mind blowing the amount of flavours that exploded in my pallet was surreal. The rice was heavily infused with garlic which was super amazing the greenonions were super good with the japanese mayo and ketchup and that super soft omurice. The chicken on the side was well seasoned and paired deliciously with the rice. * Elegant Strawberry Waffle ($12.50) ~ this was stunning, strawberry waffle, topped with fresh strawberries, nice generous portion of whipped cream and icecream on top. The pocky added a nice crunch, and it was delicious with the strawberry drizzle. * Coco mango w. Pearls ($6.50)~ unique, not too sweet. The pearls were chewy, and the coco mango was a good combination together. Wish it had more mango flavour in it. * 604 Sour w, Coconut Jelly ($6)~ this was interesting as well, not too sweet and not too sour, the coconut jelly was nice and chewy. * Matcha Parfait ($9.95)~ OOOOF this was super rich matcha. Had crunchy layer of cereal, delicious layer of redbeans and brown sugar pearls. The components in it all complimented each other and the toppings balanced out the rich matcha. * 8/10 ~ This was such a gem 100% will come back the oyako rice was bomb, and the parfait was rich and heavy! I do wish the cocomango had more mango fragrance, and that the 604 sour was a bit more sour. *

I love their bbt. This is coming from a person who didn't really care for bbt. I've tried most of their menu but my favourite has got to be their pina colada smoothie. So refreshing and good and their velvet t. My least fav is probably their galaxy drink and I didn't like their garlic chicken nuggets much as they were soggy and mostly fat. Wait times can be a bit long but the staff have been nice and the cafe is super cute!

This is quite a cute cafe that puts all the effort in its esthetics. The cafe is decorated with greenery and also has a cute section with a bookshelf and anime figurines lined up. I visited the cafe on a weekend and the place was very busy for a cafe - all the tables were seated with people dining in. So I decided to go for some desserts to take home as it felt a little too stuffy and steamy in the cafe - they even had a squeegee ready for customers to wipe off the condensation from the bakery counter so that we can see the goods behind. I ended up ordering the Japanese Pudding, Lemon Cheesecake and German Honey Cake. The pudding and lemon cheesecake was my favorite. I don't normally eat a lot of cheeses cake but this one I throughly enjoyed with the layer of jelly and the balance of the tartness of the lemon just lightens the cake!
