I cannot rate this camp and experience highly enough. The staff are genuinely warm, welcoming and caring. The accommodation is amazingly good... camping in style. The food is unbelievably excellent. The chef easily rivals some great restaurants in Europe and beyond. They cater for food intolerances with ingenuity and care. Ingredients are all fresh. The safari guides are excellent too. Taking trouble to get you to be able to see as much wildlife as possible. Many of the animals can be seen from your tent (really it's more than a tent). If you get the opportunity to visit, do so.

Amazing safari camp. Rooms are fantastic, spacious and very luxurious standard. The staff are fantastically friendly. It is worth the semi-premium cost! The food is also by far a world above most safari camps (daily changing menu). A big plus is you have a breakfast picnic whilst out on safari each morning - the guides are all ‘Silver’ guides (second best) which is a real differentiator to the other camps. Their conservation efforts are very evident and admirable. Kicheche camps are the best!

I don’t even know where to begin with how incredible our stay at Kicheche Mara North was. The entire staff was beyond amazing—genuinely some of the kindest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever met. I wish I could remember every single name because they all deserve to be recognized, but Makena and Charles stood out in a big way. They made us feel like family, and that’s not something I say lightly. Their warmth and sincerity were unforgettable. I also fell ill during part of our stay, and the way the staff cared for me was nothing short of exceptional. They were genuinely concerned and incredibly accommodating—checking in on me regularly, offering special meals, and making sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable and feel better. It meant the world to me and really speaks to the heart and attentiveness of everyone at Kicheche. And a very special shoutout to the team for graciously accommodating my incredibly picky husband and his extensive list of dietary requests and exceptions. Not only did they handle it without a hitch—they did it with a smile, every single time. That level of patience and flexibility is rare, and we’re truly grateful. And Vincent—our guide—what can I say? He is simply the best. We specifically requested him again this time because he brought so much joy, knowledge, and fun to our experience on our last trip. I remember laughing to myself on that first safari, overhearing other guests say it was their fourth or fifth time returning to the same camp. I couldn’t understand it—why keep coming back to the same place? I usually like to try new things. But now I completely get it. Every single day on safari is different, filled with new stories, wildlife moments, and magic. Kicheche makes it feel fresh, personal, and thrilling each time. Also, can we talk about how this place is rated as three stars? That has to be a mistake. The tents are beautifully luxurious, the bedding is so comfortable, the water is hot and plentiful, and the service is on par with any top-tier resort I've ever stayed at. Kicheche Mara North deserves five stars across the board. We can’t wait to return—again!

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Kicheche Mara North lodge. The rooms were spacious, extremely clean, and well equipped with wonderful showers and beds. Our stay was made extra special by Fred, who was our server and bartender at breakfast lunch and dinner, Dickson- who was our extremely knowledgeable and friendly guide, and Mr. Simon Wamangu who assisted me with the booking. We saw a lot of game and anything we requested was taken care of efficiently. Thank you to everyone at Kicheche Mara North….i highly recommend this lodge to anyone for their safari!

Where do I even start. Our experience with Kicheche Mara North was a magical experience from begin to end. It was extremely sad to leave this place. From the moment you arrive at the camp you are receive the most warm welcome from camp manager Makenna. The safaris drives are incredible. We were blessed with many special sightings from Elephants families, several cheetahs, lions and the elusive serval cat. On our first evening drive we also met one of the resident female leopards although for a very short sighting. Our guides Lydia and Peter were exceptional. Full of knowledge, passion for the bush and wildlife and just great human beings. We loved talking to them and really getting to know them as individuals. Chef Dickson was amazing. Each meal was cooked to perfection and his fun personality on full display everyday. The food was varied every day and nothing could be faulted. Our waiter Patrick was such a wonderful person. Always had a genuine smile and took such great care of us. Overall this camp is ran amazingly well. They have a great team of people that really care and you can see it the whole way through. Thank you again guys and we hope to be back soon to the magical Mara North!

This was our third visit to Mara North and yet again we were not disappointed with any aspects of either the camp or the wildlife encounters we experienced while there. ||The tents had been upgraded since our last visit and while we couldn't really have found fault with the previous variants the new ones were a step up indeed.||Very spacious, comfortable beds and ample storage space. Plenty of charging points were made available for phones and camera batteries. There is wifi available although you have to expect that the speed achieved can be quite variable it's still acceptable, given that you are in the middle of the African bush.||The camp is excellently and efficiently run by Andrew and his team. The food was superb, excellent variety and beautifully presented. Dickson the chef is a force of nature!! All the team made us feel most welcome. One of the lovely things we have found at all the Kicheche camps is the number of repeat guests which is surely testament to the excellent service that the camps provide.||Our guide Twala was excellent and provided us with some wonderful sightings over our three night stay. He had a great sense of humour which made the trip all the more enjoyable.||Many thanks to Andrew, Teresa, Dickson, Maurice, Charles, Patrick and Moses for making the trip so memorable. Hopefully be back again in the near future.

We had an excellent time at this camp. Andrew and Makena run a great team! You’ll have a great time. The staff and the food are great and you will see the most amazing animals, be patient and the guides will get you up close to them. All the guides are great!|You will have a great time but be prepared for the cold starts, pre-sun up, in February.

We stayed here as a family of four just before Christmas. Set in the Mara North conservancy there are some great advantages of this; namely plenty of game without the hoards of vehicles. With a five vehicle rule around game it is never too crowded.|The camp itself is lovely and very much within the Kicheche model. You can see that there is a staff guide for the Kicheche routine. And the reason I only gave this review four stars was that it felt at times that staff were just going through the mandated routine. The manager and his deputy were in the places they were directed to be but they weren’t really present. Having stayed at the Laikipia sister camp directly before this one, we could feel the difference. Liakipia had much better attention to detail, was friendlier and felt more special. That’s not to say the Mara North camp wasn’t great - it was, but it wasn’t as good. |For example we didn’t have hot water during our stay; it was tepid at best. The ‘photography tent’ which they made a big play about didn’t have any leads to plug cameras into their computer and the card reader didn’t take a CF card for the more professional cameras. |Game drives at times felt a little mechanical too but on the whole were great. The guides know exactly where each of the big cats are (apart from leopard obviously) so you are almost guaranteed to see lion and cheetah. You are likely to see the same ones every day.|Overall a great camp, just a little disappointing compared to their sister camp at Liakipia.
