Kicheche Mara North

Kicheche Mara North is a well situated camp to take advantage of animal sightings, or for relaxing on the camp’s beautiful patio. Our tent was spacious, clean and well equipped, with hot and cold running water, a spacious bathroom, comfy beds, power plugs, filtered water and robes. Our game drives were superb in a comfortable roomy vehicle. John, our guide, found some of the best sightings we have had in many years of safaris. We saw a cheetah at full speed catching a gazelle while dodging an angry topi, a leopard taking her kill up a tree and many more rare sights. His comments were great and he looked after us very well. Camp staff were friendly and obliging, and we were looked after very well by McKenna, Lucy, Fred and all the wonderful staff. Food is well above the quality and variety we experienced in other camps. Excellent variety of drinks including daily cocktails, mocktails, wines and beers. Our four night stay was much too short and I suggest at least a week at this special place.

We spent 3 nights at Mara North after spending 3 unforgettable days at Kicheche’s Valley Camp. The Mara North team more than lived up to the high bar set by the Valley team - the 3-room family tent was luxurious, the food excellent (staff went out of their way to make sure our daughter’s gluten-free request was met). The setting was perfect and we couldn’t have asked more from our driver/guide Jimmy who made sure we saw as many animals and incredible sunrises and sunsets as possible and was an invaluable asset when visiting local Maasai communities. We felt safe and spoilt at all times! Highly recommended!

I cannot rate this camp and experience highly enough. The staff are genuinely warm, welcoming and caring. The accommodation is amazingly good... camping in style. The food is unbelievably excellent. The chef easily rivals some great restaurants in Europe and beyond. They cater for food intolerances with ingenuity and care. Ingredients are all fresh. The safari guides are excellent too. Taking trouble to get you to be able to see as much wildlife as possible. Many of the animals can be seen from your tent (really it's more than a tent). If you get the opportunity to visit, do so.

Kicheche Mara Camp claimed a piece of our hearts. The people, animals and place were so beautiful in every respect and it was so hard to say goodbye even after three nights! Mackenna and the team are such warm-hearted, fun-loving people, we really didn’t want to leave. George, Lucy and Dickson were our amazing guides who created memories of a lifetime for us. Charles, Patrick, Damas, Terri, Clinton, ‘heart’ and the team made afternoons and mealtimes so special and fun. The food was delicious, the safari tents were so comfortable and spacious. Having elephants graze outside our bedroom was the most incredible sound I’ve ever heard. The whole experience was exceptional and it’s hard to put it into words that will do it justice. Absolutely incredible, we spent 5 wonderful nights with Kicheche Mara North in the duma tent. The tent is spacious and luxurious with all the amenities you need for a very comfortable stay in the bush.||Mckenna, Jon, and the rest of the team took great care of us during our stay. From remembering our son's love to roast marshmallows every evening by the fire, bringing a pillow so he fits better in the dining chair and accomdating our slightly earlier dinner time without us asking after the first time shows great attention to detail and makes their hospitality truly exceptional.||Our game driver Brian was fantastic. We saw everything we wanted and more. Witnessing the raw ferocity and beauty of the African savannah and its animal inhabitants is something we'll never forget.||Asante sana, we will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommend Kicheche for your safari needs in the conservancy.

The best holiday experience I’ve ever had. I’m widely travelled and absolutely loved this place. The immersive safari experience was trouble free. From arrival to departure every possible detail was anticipated. Fabulous meals and accommodation, patient guides, and additional touches were provided every day.

Even better than could possibly have been imagined, so amazing, can't wait to go back. Kicheche is absolutely lovely. Staff were amazing, food delicious. Jimmy our guide was incredible, we saw lions, cheetah, leopard, elephants, zebra, giraffes, cape buffalo, wildebeest, baboons, more types of gazelle/antelope than I remember, hippos, crocodiles, beautiful birds, and more. I've stayed in South Africa and Botswana places that were a higher price point because they were permanent structures not tent, but we missed nothing at Kicheche and I like the tents even better. Highly recommend asking for a tour of their gardens, recycling, water treatment, solar, etc. Lots of companies say they care about conservation and sustainability but Kicheche has taken more steps than most to minimize their impact on this beautiful place, without sacrificing anything in the luxurious experience.

What a wonderful time! From the gorgeous tent and common grounds to the ever attentive and smiling staff, things could not have been better. DD, the manager, always made sure that things were perfect. He has a great sense of humor 😀 as well. The food was great 👍.
