The Ultimate Kenya Itinerary for Couples, Families, and Friends

"From Nairobi, it’s a short flight west to the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, for a few nights at Kicheche Valley Camp, a six-tent retreat where 'birds take flight and animals casually saunter by,' as Rothschild puts it." - Leora Rothschild

Our stay at Kicheche Valley Naboisho was truly spectacular. The accommodations were luxurious and well-maintained. The staff were the shining stars of our stay. They provided five star service and made us feel like we were family. The guides were true experts in the area. Game drives and bush walks were personalized and engaging. Food and drinks during our down time were amazing. We are vegetarian and were so impressed with the variety of food throughout the day.

We have been planning our Africa trip for over a year, meticulously reading review reviews of all lodging. we came across kicheche Valley, and it looked too good to be true. We decided to try it out anyway. It did not disappoint, and in fact, it exceeded our expectations!||From the moment we arrived, Minnie and her staff all welcomed us warmly, greeting our jeep as we pulled up to the front. They already knew all of our names, using our passport information from ahead of time to memorize faces with names. That small touch meant the world.||From there, it was impeccable service, amazing food, and incredible experiences. Our Safari guides were so knowledgeable. We had Mika and Bernard, and they found us the elusive panther, along with several lions, giraffes, elephants, you name it. our food was world class. We had many vegetarians in our group, and the Chef was able to accommodate us with gourmet selections every single meal. Nelson and Jolene were incredible host and hostesses. So was the other Bernard, our drink maker. One night, they had an incredible Masai dance performance, and they had us all dancing along with them. They really made us feel like family. And finally, the rooms! You really feel like you are one with nature, yet you're living in a lap of luxury. ||We really cannot recommend this place enough. If we ever come back to this part of Africa again, we will be sure to try out the other Kicheche camps.

Just the best safari experience, so far for us. We had brilliant service from the two camps we visited first but this camp notched it up even more! Minnie and her team were absolutely fantastic, attentive, polite and willing to help. The food was fantastic and plentiful, whether it be the breakfast box for the morning drive, the 3 course buffet lunch and the evening meal. Daily laundry service was great. A nice touch was to come to our tent at the end of the holiday to find that all our clothes were neatly folded so my packing literally took 5 minutes. Our game guide Esther was brilliant. She found all the game we wanted and was really knowledgeable about all the wildlife we encountered and found good positions at sightings to ensure great photos. Minnie arranged some little surprises during our stay, giving us times we will remember for ever.. Minnie's colleague, Anthony deserves a mention as well as the rest of the 'front of house' staff including Jolene (who must have got fed up of us singing a certain song to her, badly) who always had a smile for everyone. A very special 3 days for us.

This camp and its staff is totally incredible and will ensure you have the trip of a lifetime. Minnie and the whole team make you feel like family, cater for your every need and just provide such a beautiful setting being there is a like a dream. The food is outstanding and the accommodation just beautiful. The guides are so knowledgeable and will ensure you see everything that the Masai has to offer. Can't recommend this camp highly enough. You must go, you won't be disappointed.

Kicheche Valley Naboisho is a beautiful camp with sightings that are out of this world. The tents are very modern, contemporary and beautifully decorated. They have floor to ceiling screens on 3 sides that make you feel that there are no walls between you and nature (they do close the sides at night). The staff was warm and welcoming. But the best part was the amazing sightings that we had with Mika, our guide. Mika should be called the cat whisperer because his intuition and knowledge of lions and leopards is impressive. He is one of the best guides that we have ever had. We spent a whole morning with a female leopard, her cubs, her kill, a martial eagle, hyenas and jackals. It was like being in the middle of a Nat Geo movie. This was truly a once in la lifetime sighting. Thank you, Mika. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I have been on safari several times and this was hands down the best experience. Not only did we see a cheetah chase and two lion prides fighting thanks to our incredible guide, Bernard, it was also the best hospitality we have ever experienced out of all 48 countries we have visited. It truly does not get any better. The manager Minnie is so sweet and accommodating. We were both blown away by the level of service provided by her team. Every detail was well thought out and met with a warm attitude. My husband and I were also extremely impressed by our guide, Bernard’s ability to predict animal behavior to get us in position for the best viewings we have ever experienced. He truly has a sixth sense. The tents were beautiful and very comfortable. Soft beds. The lack of AC were not any issue at all as the weather was very mild and nice and cool at night. A massive thank you to everyone at Kicheche! Also the massages and food were wonderful!!

Absolutely amazing camp for our safari in Kenya. From the moment we arrived the service was outstanding and they truly went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special. Our guide Esther was fantastic and so knowledgeable, we loved having her. The entire staff was incredible - every single person we encountered was happy, positive, and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We were so sad to leave, we truly felt like we were saying goodbye to family at the end of our trip. We can't recommend Kicheche Valley Naboisho enough, highly recommend!

Possibly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The team at Kicheche Valley camp were outstanding and Minnie’s management is first class. Nothing is left to chance, every tiny detail is thought of and prepared before we’d even know we’d need it. The staff were amazing, from the lodge team to the knowledgeable guides, we were made to feel like old friends within minutes of arriving and despite only staying for 3 short nights, the warm hospitality made it feel like we’d been there for weeks! Our tent was very well appointed, hard wood floors, hot showers, plenty of hanging/storage space and huge comfortable bed (including night time hot water bottles)! Great food and drinks selection, set menus daily but everything was delicious with no complaints from us but they were incredibly accommodating for guests who had dietary requirements or preferences and made it work for all. Special mention for Jamlex our guide who was great fun and very accommodating. Amazing knowledge and made sure he helped us get the best sightings for our trip! This is not a cheap stay but 100% excellent value for money and well worth the expense. We’d barely been gone 12 hours before we started planning the next time we could come back and stay!
