Kidepo Savannah Lodge

This is a hidden gem in the Kidepo Valley National Park. I loved their services. We travelled as a group for vacation and I am glad we booked with them. They were caring, listening and ready to serve us whenever required. They were even flexible enough to give us some African cuisines when we asked. I loved the tent experience (self-contained) with a great level of privacy. The place gave me an outdoor experience where I felt like I was in the wild which I was. The staff and the manager are great. They deserve a 5-star rating and review.

Kidepo Valley is the most underrated place in Uganda with a really stunning landscape and a huge variety of wildlife! We joined New Year’s Eve with Peter and the team of the Kidepo Savannah Lodge. Perfect accommodation and a great service!

The lodge’s location in the middle of the wildlife allows for an immersive experience, surrounded by the natural beauty of the park.||||Room Comfort and Amenities||||We stayed in a twin room within an en-suite tent that beautifully combined authenticity with modern comforts. The tent was spotlessly clean and provided a comfortable and unique lodging experience. The bathroom, while functional and with hot water available at all times, required stepping out of the tent to access it. This setup added a touch of adventure to our stay.||||The room featured a private balcony furnished with chairs and a table, offering breathtaking views of the national park. It was a serene spot to relax and take in the stunning landscape and wildlife.||||Facilities and Services||||The lounge and restaurant rooms at the lodge provided excellent views of the surroundings, allowing us to enjoy the sight of beautiful birds and wildlife while dining. WiFi was available in the restaurant room, lounge, and reception, meeting our basic connectivity needs.||||An exciting aspect of our stay was the need to be escorted at night between our tent and the restaurant room due to the presence of wild animals. This added a thrilling and adventurous flavor to our experience, emphasizing the lodge’s close connection to nature.||||Dining Experience||||Breakfast was cooked to order and served in the restaurant room, ensuring fresh and delicious meals to start our days. Dinner, served in the restaurant room with a set menu, featured well-prepared and satisfying dishes.||||Staff and Service||||The staff at Kidepo Savannah Lodge were exceptionally welcoming and professional. They were always eager to assist with any request, ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Stunning vistas of the Kidepo national park. Safari tents were very new and clean. Hot water and electricity is available in the tents although ours was spotty and went out when I just put the converter plug in the outlet with nothing attached. Note hairdryers are a no go. Wifi only available in the lounge area of the main lodge (not even in the restaurant right next to it). My suggestion for management is to extend their coverage to the dining area. Laundry service is available- they do it by hand though so make sure you leave enough time and let them know when you need it back. Multiple options for wine (Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot) but they didn't seem to have either soda or tonic water available. Food was average, I recommend asking for the vegetarian options. Good selection of breakfast options.

Glamping type experience, which was a different experience but a good one.|Amazing views over the park from both the rooms and the restaurant and bar area.|Team were helpful, polite and the service was good.|One negative was that the card machine was not working and had to attach about for enough cash.|We would stay here again.

This is the best accomodation in Kidepo. Customer service is excellent, rooms are excellent, food is excellent. We had a great stay at Kidepo Savanah Lodge. I highly recommend it for any traveler.
