Kiel Canal

The canal was finished in 1895, but later widened, and links the North Sea at Brunsbüttel to the Baltic Sea at Kiel-Holtenau. An average of 250 nautical miles (460 km) is saved by using the Kiel Canal instead of going around the Jutland Peninsula. Wonderful for walks and family outings. Pass by lot of time during my sea 🌊 time really nice and silence place both sides of canal. Just enjoy the green and the windy nature.

One of our favorite cruises on the old Prinsendam. It was like a ship going through people's backyards.

Maaan, not bad, not bad, but maneuvering from morning till the night. But there was also bunkering stations, beautiful views and at least I have learned a lot about the maneuvering. And its good for the ship, because it saves a lot of time to go through this Kiel Canal, instead go over to the Denmark again.

Went through here on a cruise ship while working. Pretty cool

My husband, the civil engineer, enjoyed the cruise down the Kiel Canal and locks. I found it the views and canal interesting also.
