Kii-Katsuura Station

The staff was accommodating when I asked to change my booked train ticket (JR West Kansai Wide Area Pass) to an earlier schedule. I sensed a bit of impatience but he still managed to get me what I needed.

Good, but lonely. The bus to Nachi-Mountain operates 1 Seattle takes about 30 mints from here.

Small sea village station. Go to tourist info, get the map and enjoy the walk.

Has quite a few coin luggage storage lockers, including large lockers for suitcases/rucksacks. just use your IC card to pay, very easy! ¥800 for 3 days use for large lockers, less for smaller locker.

For travellers visiting Nachi Waterfalls, take the bus in front of the main entrance. It runs about twice per hour. It’s 630 Yen one way per person. If you are looking for food to take on the train, there is an Onigiri Shop 50m from the main entrance and a small Bento shop on the west side of the station. There is also a Lawson about 10min from the station towards the harbor. Lots of restaurants nearby too, try their Tuna sets. They are probably all delicious.

It is a small hub station for tourists visiting Nasu Mountains. A kiosk is definitely essential, but actually there was only vending machines supplying with cold and hot beverages.

Very friendly people. The place needs a bit of tlc but is worth visiting.
