"After that, we went to a Kilauea Point Wildlife Refuge, which has a cool lighthouse. We went to the lookout. One of the big attractions in Kauai is the Nāpali coast, which are these big, green luscious mountains that run alongside the ocean."

Kīlauea Point is one of the most scenic and peaceful spots on Kauai! The views from the lookout are incredible — dramatic cliffs, turquoise ocean, and the historic Kīlauea Lighthouse perched perfectly on the edge. You’ll often spot seabirds like red-footed boobies, frigatebirds, and even nēnē (Hawaiian geese), and during winter months, you might catch glimpses of humpback whales offshore. 🐋🌊 The refuge is well maintained, with helpful rangers and educational displays about local wildlife and conservation. A must-visit for nature lovers and photographers — calm, breathtaking, and uniquely Kauai. 🌺📸🕊️

Absolutely beautiful views, so many different types of birds! They had ample signage and information about the different kinds of birds. The only thing that would have made it better is if the lighthouse had been open to visitors. Not too pricey, money well spent, wonderful way to enjoy the wildlife.

As spectacular in real life as in the photos. This is a lovely must-see in Kauai - not just for the birds and the views but also to support our National Parks! An annual pass works here - no fee, no reservation.

Very cool place, worth the $20 ticket. You can't get up into the lighthouse, but it's very cool to see the wildlife and awesome coral views.

What a beautiful place to watch all of the sea birds and take in the views. If this were whale watching season, we would have been for hours. Be sure to make reservations in advance. It’s a busy place. But you have time and space to see the lighthouse and take in the views.

It was a shame they had the lighthouse closed for maintenance. But the views from the parking lot were amazing! I got some nice images there.

Amazing. I did not expect to see so many sea birds. The hill facing the lighthouse was literally dotted with birds. One can see them flying in and out, quite closeby. The ocean view is great too, with waves crashing into caves. The website and the banner outside says that pre-registration is needed. However, they do accept walk-ins, so do take a chance
