We had a wonderful stay at Kilchrenan House. The location is amazing. Walking out the front door, you see the lovely view of the water and can walk the promenade to get to anywhere in Oban. Our room was small, but spotless. The shower was hot. The in-room biscuits, oatmeal, and tea were just right before we went out for a day of sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in the ensuite Isle of Mull (Room 9). The view from our window looked out over Oban Bay. It was beautiful!||The room was large, so there was plenty of room to store our luggage, and the bed was comfortable. The pillows, unfortunately, were not. There was a small fridge included, and it was stocked with complimentary water and juices. There was also a hot pot and small espresso machine, plus coffee, tea and hot chocolate mix.||The bathroom was large and had plenty of space for our toiletries. The sink, however, was a bit on the small size. I’ve noticed this throughout the UK so it must be a more common feature than in the US.||The location was perfect for exploring Oban. It was a 10-minute walk into town along a path that's right next to the water. Just lovely!||Just a warning to Americans...the ground floor is the first floor. So, a second-floor room is up two full flights of stairs. I knew this but forgot when I was booking our room. Don't make the same mistake!

We had a great stay. The room was perfect. We had a room that had a foyer with a dresser, refrigerator and tea station that was separate from the bed which was awesome. The room was cool and comfortable and they replenished our tea service and coffee each day including thoughtful details like OJ and a cookie. Our room was at the top of a long flight of stairs, so make sure you're comfortable with that before booking. Oban is very walkable, and the esplanade is a great place to stay.

4.5 stars out of 5, rounded up. They were so accommodating when I emailed we would be arriving a day late and gave my key to my sister for safekeeping. Our room faced the promenade and the view was lovely. Big room with crown moulding and two chairs to watch the harbor from. Bathroom was on the small side and could use a little love (thus why I would give 4.5 stars and not 5). Location was great for walking into town.

We had a nice stay for our overnight in Oban. Room #15 had an ocean view which was beautiful. Older place and no breakfast included. Good location and had parking. Was a bit confusing to understand where the front door was as there is not sign saying entrance and there is a private home attached that is not affliated. Staff was friendly and accommodated an early check in for us. Great location along the Esplanade which was great for walking.

Very nice room, in a convenient and quiet location, with all the amenities one might need. Even though breakfast was not provided, the room was well equipped with everything needed to prepare a light meal or drink every morning. Nice experience overall!

We stayed here prior to our boarding a small cruise ship for a tour of the Scottish coast. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was ideal for walking into town and the view of the sea was serene. We had an issue with trying to cool our room. The owner immediately sent someone to take care of the matter and offered to move us to a better room. I discovered that the room temperature matter was due to my not understanding how to manipulate the safety locks on the windows. The staff took full responsibility for our comfort. I was very pleased with all aspects of our stay.

We stayed for 4 nights. This was a very last minute booking and I was so grateful that the manager on duty allowed us to book. We stayed in the modern building behind the main house. The room was spacious, modern and had everything we needed. The lady who serviced our room provided a great service, keeping it clean and replenishing the drinks, chocolate and cake every day. We enjoyed our stay so much in Oban and would love to return sometime again.

Yelp
I don't know. I really thought the staff here was friendly and helpful, but as an accommodation, it was not the best experience. Sure, the location and view was great. Our room looked right out into the water. Also, I liked that the house was somewhat removed from the busyness of the main town area. However, the room itself was tiny, including the bathroom. There is really not enough room for two people. And they filled up one of the nightstands with a gratuitous coffee and water service, which basically made that nightstand useless in terms of a place to put your stuff. One of our lights wasn't working, the shower doors don't seal, so water sprays out onto the bathroom floor. Also there was some liquid hand soap in the bathroom that had a really strong and nauseating smell every time I washed my hands. The walls are also super thin so that you can hear all the noise from the hallway and the rooms adjacent. We were located next to a gentlemen's who seemed to have emphysema; he was coughing all night and in the morning like no ones business. He also seemed to be opening and closing the noisy shower door right behind our bed every 5 seconds. Breakfast was weird. First the dining Room was way too cramped with tables (that were a little too small) and people. It was hard to get to and from the buffet table, and multiple trips to the buffet were necessary because they didn't really have adequate tableware available at the buffet for everything. For example, they didn't have any cups to carry milk back to the table or any small dishes to hold jam for your toast. Basically, you have to go back to your table to get a serving vessel and bring it back to the buffet to put stuff in it. This probably wouldn't have been so annoying if the room weren't so cramped, making it an ordeal to get from one end of the room to the other. Anyway, it was okay for one but I'm glad I didn't have to stay there longer.

Yelp
Outstanding B n B. We asked Colin, the owner, for a good spot to meet friends...maybe to eat. He showed us menus of a couple seafood places and before we knew it he was on the phone to Ee Usk booking us a table. Colin also gave a map and directions to our friends to help them find their B & B. He went way above the call of duty there. Then as they left, he showed perfect comic timing - just as the glass door was shutting on our departing friend, whiskey loving Paul, Colin said, "now would you care for a welcoming dram of whiskey?" the look on Paul's face through the glass was perfect - sad hungry puppy face. Colin laughed and so did we. Only one thing I would do differently - make sure you get one of the rooms with a sea view. Worth the cost I think. Breakfast was great with a few choices besides the standard full Scottish. We had pancakes with yogurt and fruit and it was great. The house is close enough for walking, but far enough to be quiet. You can walk out the door and across the road to sit on the esplanade by the bay.

Yelp
Super Bed and Breakfast in Oban! The staff is very friendly: among other things, you get a free glass of whisky to welcome you. In addition, you can chose the breakfast you want to have a day in advance and the quality of the food served is great. Finally, the localization is perfect, near the city center of Oban with the possibility to park you car.

Yelp
Kilchrenan house is simply an outstanding B'n'B. We arrived at a stormy rainy afternoon and were lucky to take a room to the seaside. You sit in the sofa, watch the boats and enjoy the great view by a cup of tea and your welcome whisky. I could have spent hours in that way. The room was very tastefully furnished in Victorian style including the bath. Moreover, our hosts Colin and Frances were very nice and helped us in finding the right restaurant. Colins breakfast was excellent. I dared to take Haggis and it is definitely the place to try it out.
