We loved this hostel! A beautiful setting with clean, quiet rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed including fresh eggs provided by our host. The common areas (indoor/outdoor) were welcoming and comfortable.

We loved our stay at Kilcommon Lodge. Betty is such a lovely host with plenty of tips to do in the area. The lodge is super clean, has a big kitchen (with eggs from own 'garden') and a cozy living room with a stunning view. We've done two cliff walks nearby (Erris head, Portacloy), visited Achill island and the Neoletic fields. We stayed 5 days, but could easily extend our stay. We haven't been to the national park and there are more hikes to do and islands to visit. We recommend, if you have the time, to stay longer than just a few nights. The area has a lot to offer! Just driving around the area is already pretty amazing. Plenty reasons for us to come back!

Even though our stay was quite some time ago, I keep reminiscing about this wonderful place. Very friendly staff, lovely chats with guests and staff, beautiful peaceful environment. What a great hostel!

It is a lovely place. Betty is a really nice hostess, very kind. The house is super clean, warm, close to the sea. It was a great experience, we were planning on staying 1 night but we extended it because it was super nice. I highly recommend it.

Wonderful place to stay. Betty is so welcoming. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Location is great. Despite it being hostel, there was a well stocked kitchen with eggs and cereal, milk, tea and coffee to use. We felt very at home. Thank you Betty

We had the most incredibly homely, warm, whimsical and unique stay at Kilcommon Lodge. Betty is a host in a league of her own and the energy she and her wonderful business exude is second to none. The rooms are immaculate with everything you need, bathrooms and toilets are also spotless. The sitting room is cosy and comfortable with a host of games and books, as well as a fully stocked kitchen with complimentary tea, coffee, milk and cereal. Whether or not you know the area, the views will captivate you every time. I would recommend to everyone and will certainly be returning.

If you want a warm welcome in a homely hostel nestled in the quiet countryside then Kilcommon Lodge is the place for you. The charming large garden is festooned with wild flowers, herbs and trees where ducks, hens and cute little pigs wander quietly. Betty your hostess is so welcoming and has so much local knowledge. The layout of all the rooms is very well thought out with every facility. The shower rooms are really spacious with private changing area and powerful hot showers. Everything is spotlessly clean. The kitchen has everything you need including great crockery, 2 cooking hobs and a free food shelf. The dining area has lovely views of the inlet, a fireplace and a library with interesting books, games and useful walking maps. Make sure to do the Bunwee Head to Portacloy cliff walk for stunning views. The house is decorated with beautiful and interesting, maps, photographs a nature posters. This hostel is a little haven made all the more special by Betty, maybe I should have kept it a secret! Dee 🌸 🦆 🐔 🏡 🍃

I will start the explanation with the view that opens in front of this place. It's amazing. 😍 The hostel: nestled under the hill, beautifully laid out, clean and well maintained. The service: nice and kind Betty, explained everything about the accommodation and the services we can use. She even said there was complimentary coffee, tea and cereal. Free parking. Free WiFi. We chose a room for two with a private bathroom. Nice, warm, tidy and clean. Result: a night from £25 per person per night, nothing more to wish for. Price-quality - perfect! 🍀🍀🍀 PS. I tried to arrange the photos in order of shooting, google arranges them as it wants. I can't argue with him. 😁

Yelp
kilcommon lodge is a simple but lovely little hostel at ireland's rural north-west coast. (dublin should be about 400km away) if you are either looking for peace & quiet or for some sporty activities you'll likewise be happy here. the area has lots of beautiful nature on offer which is just perfect for e.g. hiking or surfing. if you are a newbie on the surfboard you can even book surfing lessons here at the hostel.the place itself offers the usual facilities like a big kitchen, a nice sitting room and some seats in the garden.another big plus are the nice owners. :) always friendly, happy to chat (in english or german) and up for giving tips on the area's "sights".so yeah, there's the chance to rent dorms or single rooms. over nye i paid 20 euro/night for a room just for myself. (shared bathroom though!) i don't know about prices for the high season or groups but you can always check their website:http://www.kilcommonlodge.ie [http://www.kilcommonlodge.ie]
