Kilfenora Cathedral is a quiet treasure, steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking high crosses that feel both timeless and sacred. The grounds are peaceful and uncrowded, making it easy to linger and reflect on the intricate stonework and centuries of devotion etched into every corner. A beautiful, contemplative stop in the heart of the Burren.

A very well preserved church and cemetery, and the visitor center next door is a great way to take in the history of the area. Just a heads up, wheelchair access seems to only be had when you go down the road a bit and turn into the cemetery's driveway. And remember to take a look at the old stone monuments, especially the one out in the pasture!

Beautiful place to visit to see the crosses and the historical church grounds, and the graves of the Vaughans (apparently a Cambro-Norman connection since Vaughan is a Welsh name common in Pembrokeshire). On that note, Vaughan's Pub has great food, and Kilfenora makes for a great lunch place between the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren (or vice versa). Lisdoonvarna and Doolin are close by, as well.

A stop on our way across the Burren to the Cliffs of Moher. The small Cathedral houses some nice High Crosses as well as other items which is worth a quick visit if in the area.

Go around back to see the high crosses. Be sure to peek into the room with the tomb effigies.
