58 Disney World Rides and Attractions, Ranked From Worst to Best 2023

"Not a conventional coaster or dark ride, Kilimanjaro Safaris gives guests the rare opportunity to spot some of the Earth's most amazing creatures, including lions, giraffes, elephants, and more, as their guide spouts off fun facts about the species and their habitats. Riding past rhinos and zebras is magical in a different way, and that's what makes this ride a must-experience at Animal Kingdom." - Travel + Leisure Editors

The Best Things to Do at Disney World: The Rides and Beyond | Condé Nast Traveler

"Disney’s Harambe Wildlife Reserve is home to 34 species on 110 sprawling acres meant to resemble East Africa. Kilimanjaro Safaris takes you on a tour of the savanna in an open-sided vehicle for up-close encounters with giraffes, okapi, waterbucks, crocodiles, and warthogs. Thanks to the animals’ unpredictable nature, each ride is a new adventure. While you’re basically guaranteed to see animals at any time of day, visit early in the morning for the best chance at up-close encounters—not to mention shorter wait times." - Valerie Marino

Kilimanjaro Safaris is one of those attractions that has stayed with me since childhood. The first time I rode it, I remember being genuinely amazed—some of the views felt straight out of The Lion King. Because Walt Disney World isn’t a place I get to visit often, this is always a “must-do” for me. I rode it twice on my most recent trip, and both times the lions were… sleeping 😄 (which is apparently very normal—Cast Members even mention that lions sleep most of the day). That honestly made me appreciate my childhood memory even more, because back then I saw a lion awake and standing up on a rocky ledge—and I remember someone saying how rare that was. Now I get it! What I love most about this safari is that every ride is different. You can’t predict what the animals will do, and that unpredictability is part of the magic. I found myself taking photos the whole time, just enjoying the little surprises. It’s such a cool experience—like a mini African safari adventure, right in Florida. Highly recommend, especially if you enjoy wildlife and great photo moments.

Animal Kingdom at Disney is always one of our first stops! Avatar next. We enjoy seeing the animals close up, just like a real safari! Always lots of animals to see!

I prefer to get there early in the morning. Handlers are out, making sure the animals are fed, and they're a little more active (aside of the nocturnals). Sitting up front is great because you can ask the driver a lot of extra questions.

I loved this 100%. Happy to see the caring of all animals. The ride is excellent and great for adults and kids. A variety of animals can be seen with a very detailed explanation from the driver. Great to see such a unique attraction at a theme park.

Incredible experience but go first thing when the park opens. If you go first thing when the park opens, you will skip what can be an incredibly long line and more wildlife will be out before it gets very hot. I cannot recommend this highly enough. You are up incredibly close to animals. We got within maybe 20 feet of large animals. There is a lot of variety and the guides are knowledgeable.

Had to wait about 15 minutes, but this is always one of our favorite attractions. Some of the animals will get pretty close to you or even put on a performance. We saw on this tour a young lion trying to roar (he's still learning) giraffes got very close to us. Tour guide was very good as well.

The fact that you can visit this attraction many times over the years and still have such a different ride each time makes this an unforgettable and unique experience. We were able to see animals in beautiful enclosures, like the hippo who was enjoying the feel of the waterfall on his widely opened mouth. Unforgettable! Our ride was early in the morning, and the animals were very active. Highly recommend, even if there's a wait. (We did Early Entry to go to Pandora then Safari, and only had about a 10 min. wait on July 4th.)

Must be experienced multiple times by the whole family. It is about a 30 minute total ride once you get on from start to finish. Animals will be out at certain times of the day so go in the morning, in the early afternoon, and at the last ride if you have multiple days at the park. Always a very fun time with great guides. :)
