Great shop for Irish made gifts. But cafe on first floor serves good coffee with a wicked view over the grounds of Trinity College and possibly the best brownie this side of the Atlantic.

I came to Kilkenny Design with zero intentions of falling in love. And yet—bam! There it was. The most ridiculously beautiful orange mohair and cashmere blanket, just lounging on a shelf like it owned the place. I touched it once and knew: this was no ordinary blanket. This was a life decision. It's soft. Like dangerously soft. Like "cancel your plans and stay in with this blanket forever" soft. I wrapped it around myself and instantly became 34% more elegant and 89% more unwilling to leave the couch. The staff? Delightful. They didn’t even judge me when I whispered “you’re coming home with me” to a blanket in public. I would emotionally imprint on another textile here again.

Very nice cozy Irish department store! You would love this place and make sure to find one of the stores and take a look before leaving Ireland! Amazing blankets, hats, and all sorts of clothing, home decors and so on that you wanna buy it all!!

The Café on the 1st floor of the Kilkenny Design Shop is a must for the best of the best of cafeteria style food in the city. The variety of food from homemade quiche, sandwiches, soups and beef/chicken, fish dinners- all fresh makes the Kilkenny Café an easy lunch choice. This is coupled with the best trained staff in the city. There is old school ‘pride in what we do’ here and a warm and personal welcome. The homemade soup and fresh savoury scone is a favourite! Whilst the Kilkenny design is one of the champions of Irish craftspeople, it embodies the spirit of what it means to be Irish in its every day culture. I love the place.

A great shop to go in and have a look around, showcases some of the best Ireland has to have in terms of ceramics, wool, and art. It’s a really unique little shop that also has a lovely restaurant upstairs where you can have a coffee/tea or a lunchtime roast. The portions are good and the value is too usually around 13€ or so. Whenever I have been the staff have been friendly and helpful and they also offer tax free shopping to non-EU visitors as well as worldwide shipping anywhere for 29.99€ which is pretty fantastic for getting stuff back home (especially some of the heavier pottery and ceramics).

Breakfast is always luke warm and it’s overpriced for the rationed portions . Bad value.

This has very nice designs as well as traditional Aron sweaters. Relatively well priced considering location. The second floor has a very nice little restaurant, also well-priced
