We stayed at the Grand in Feb. 2025, our second stay at this hotel in the past couple of years. ||Pros: the location is super convenient - easy to walk across the bridge and get to Snowshed to start the day. Easy enough that I came back for lunch every day! |The pool / hot tub is picture perfect. Great to relax in either day or night, and a great view of the mountains. For quieter times, would recommend going during dinner time!|The room itself - nicely maintained and with all the basics you would need. Great to have daily housekeeping too!||Cons: a school group was at the hotel during the days we were there. Lots of slammed doors (it is possible to slam doors at this hotel, they are not soft close). Lots of loud noises as late as 11p (on a weeknight) and as early as 5:54a (I remember because I looked at my watch when I was woken up by the noise - and I live in Boston, so I know noise). There are no signs in the hotel about "quiet hours", which was disappointing. |Most surprisingly, the lights in the parking lot and drop off area were not working. They brought in 2 portable light setups for the drop off area, but the parking lot was not lit any of the nights we were there. Walking in the dark on icy, snowy roads was not pleasant.

Upside: Almost everything. The location is excellent (ski-in, ski-out, with a little poling and walking). Hotel staff was unfailingly helpful and courteous. Amenities include a handy ski valet service that stores your skis for the night, and a full-size outdoor heated pool and two outdoor hot tubs. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and ours had a full kitchen. |Minor Downside: The hotel is missing the boat on retail opportunities: No ski shop, no groceries, just a strange little souvenir shop selling over-priced beer ($9 US/can) Given that you have to drive to get to the nearest stores, I'm surprised they don't make more of an effort on the retail front.|Verdict: It was my second week-long stay there in the last two years and I would happily go back.

We recently had a wonderful stay at Killington Grand. The hotel is a short walk to Snowshed, features 2 hot tubs, sauna/steam room, gym, and has a great restaurant on the lower level. The studio room had a well equipped kitchenette and a Murphy bed, which was very comfortable for Murphy bed standards. There was daily housekeeping, a rarity these days. Best of all, excellent staff! Rae at the restaurant was a great server, and Clinton and Brie at the front desk were very attentive to us, and their help is very much appreciated.

Google
From the front desk, restaurant, cleaning, shops spa and valet, all Staff were very friendly, helpful best out of many hotels we have stayed at. Rooms were well thought out, plenty of places to hang gear and make a quick meal. Beds were not too comfortable and heating unit was very loud and kept us awake at night. Loved the outdoor pool and hot tub. Also Great massage

We stayed at the Killington Grand on our last visit to the area and really enjoyed the property. This is the nicest place to stay while visiting Killington. The hotel is very close to the Snowden lift. The lobby area was done beautifully, the pool is nice, the valet team was great, and we loved the restaurant. The only critique I'd have is that they redo the rooms and hallways as well as they did the lobby.

Google
The Killington Grand is a very unique experience, if you never been there you have to try it. The people are warm and friendly, it's a real Vermont welcome every time you walk in the door. Most of the rooms are spacious and luxurious. Towels, bedding and furniture is all top shelf, top quality. The hotel restaurant, Preston's, is also gourmet quality foods that reasonable prices. But is everyone knows, the real standout is the gigantic outdoor pool Who is a unique view of four different mountains. Ski or mountain bike all day and then luxuriate in the pool and point out the runs or trails that you have been down during the day. Spectacular sunsets and sunrises if you're up that early will also greet your senses. It's a bit of a splurge, but well worth it!

Google
The hotel reminds me of a days Inn. If you’re used to new and clean hotels this one is not for you. Everyone is nice and skiing is convenient but the aesthetic is a real downer .

Great stay for Women’s World Cup Downhill. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and easy to get to. I loved the outdoor pool!

Yelp
Check in was super wonderful. Eslynn who checked us in is amazing! She smiles all the time. We love this place. We have been coming here for ten years!!

Yelp
Location is great, right at the base of the mountain. Unit was large, clean and had a kitchen. Staff is pleasant. Outdoor heated pool is fantastic and overlooks the mountain. Unfortunately the price has dramatically increased but the services provided have been equally reduced. The breakfast buffet is no longer served. Hotels far cheaper provide breakfast. They also took away the boot check service. It was ridiculous leaving my skis but had to lug my boots through the hotel each day. I wish management would bring back the breakfast buffet and boot check.

Yelp
We didn't stay at the hotel, but we visited the Grand Restaurant which was great! We weren't able to make a reservation, but they let you get on a list around 4pm the day you'd like to dine for a table. We were able to get one around 6:30pm. The staff was amazing and very attentive to cleaning up and bringing us our food. The food was equally as delicious. Not many vegetarian options however. We did go when there were several large parties with children, which did affect the ambiance. I imagine the experience is even better without several screaming children in the background. Luckily for them the staff, again, was amazing and weren't flustered with the chaos.

Yelp
This was my first time staying at the Grand. Super convenient for skiing! Could leave your gear downstairs if you're going to the mountain a few days. The staff were incredible friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the pool/ hot tubs outside, very fun to swim while its snowing! I was disappointed that breakfast was not included. Walls were very thin- could hear our neighbors and they were using their inside voices. Overall had a great stay but definitely room for improvement- especially considering the price!

Ben M.

Yelp
Great location, nice rooms, and awesome hot tub. Walls are a bit thin but other than that we loved it there.

Gina L.

Yelp
Love going to the grand... very convenient to get a massage before a day on the mtn. We skied right out of the spa practically. Nicole is a pleasure. Jody and Eva are the best at what they do!

Yelp
We stayed at the Killington Grand Resort this past weekend to attend an onsite wedding and do some biking. Unfortunately, I had high expectations for the "Grand" that were not fulfilled. Let me start by commenting on a couple of positives. The check in process was fine, the location is obviously great, and the pool and hotel main areas were nice. Sadly that's where it ends. Let's start with the $280 a night room; no fridge, uncomfortable bed, paper thin walls where we could hear normal convos next door and in hallway, old TV with a DVD player (LOL), rough towels, and no laundry bag (attention to details). Check in is pretty late, 5PM, and checkout at 11AM is OK. Sunday at 8:30AM they started vacuuming the room across the hall with the door open, and making a bunch of noise in the hallway. Then, right around the 9am, the fire alarm goes off, the most intense noise. We were outside for 30 minutes. The fire company took their time coming as well, almost like they've seen this before. Now let's talk about the restaurant, Preston's. We went for breakfast on Saturday morning. We waited a couple minutes for the host, no big. She sat us down with menus. We then waited 25 minutes for anyone to come. We flagged her down a couple times and said oh no one came yet, um no. She said Braydon is coming, nope, Two waiters ran past us a dozen times, not even looking at us. We finally gave up and literally ordered breakfast from Sunup bakery while we waited for our check, which also took 5-10 minutes. The table next to us was like??? They couldn't believe it. Meanwhile the menu is small and is just egg combos. Finally got the check and one of the waiters with colored hair (maybe purple) was like "oh no one came". NO, you both ran past us. Needless to say we left. Paying $280 a night for a subpar experience was not fun. We will not be returning to the "Grand". Lastly, we stayed at the Mountain Inn, down the street from the Grand, and not only was it updated, with nice amenities, but it was reasonably priced. Do yourself a favor and stay there.

Yelp
Stayed for four days in January. Resort is located right near the mountain, so you can walk over to the lifts! The resort itself was nice. We had a chance to use the hot tub and pool, and there's a sauna and a steam room available. The resort restaurant was amazing. We ate there twice! Just outside the restaurant is a nice fireplace area with soft chairs. Perfect for a cozy drink. The room was spacious. The bed was one that hides in an armoire, so this gave the room a really spacious feeling. The bed itself was terrible. So uncomfortable. I'm only 140# and it was dipping down for me, which hurts my back. Otherwise, the room was great. Had a chair, small couch and table, dining table with chairs. Also a kitchenette with everything you'd need to make some coffee tea or food. There was a large fridge too. So you can't definitely stay awhile and save some money if you prefer to cook your meals and grab stuff from the grocery store. The bathroom was clean and up to date. The shower pressure was good. Cleaning staff came by every day to make up the room. Breakfast buffet is included every morning. I enjoyed the waffles and the omelette made to order. Each day they had slight changes in their offerings. The bacon was good! In the lobby area there is a cute gift shop that also makes Starbucks coffee. You can buy lift tickets at the hotel check in. They didn't have any rentals at this location, but they are nearby. The ski check was useful to keep our room clean. Staff members are friendly. The hotel is a bit dated. But the location can't be beat.

Yelp
Didn't stay at the resort but went snowboarding and skiing here. Had stayed at a nearby lodge and it was nice to have the shuttles coming around to pick up people that were staying nearby and through the parking lots. It was especially useful with helping us transport all of us and our gear and not having to deal with looking for parking! The shuttle dropped us off right in the entrance of Killington. We waited on line for lift tickets and we were ready to hit the slopes. I can say we were very inexperienced in snowboarding so we tried the bunny slope first by where lessons were being taught and yes in fact we were horrible at snowboarding. The were many lessons going on at the same time on the slope so it was a little chaotic with skiers and snowboarders from kids to adults all going down at the same time. After busting our butts, we decided we should take a lesson. We signed up for the last lesson for the day and it was a 2.5 hour lesson. We had some downtime and we decided to go into the lodge to get some lunch. They had a great variety of food at the food court area. Fresh sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, salads, soups, and lots of snacks to grab to-go. We enjoyed our lunch, the food was delicious and it was a little overpriced but it's expected for a lodge. After lunch we went out to the bunny slope for our lesson. Dan was our instructor. With lessons, gear was included which we didn't know since we had rented our gear some place else. It did cost a little more to rent in addition to the lesson. We first went inside and were given helmets which was a great safety precaution! We headed out to the slope and started putting on our gear. Once it was on we practiced sliding around with one boot on and then basic sliding around with our board. Dan was very patient with all of us letting everyone go at their own pace and making sure we were all okay. He gave great input to all of us as we practiced different moves. He wanted to take us up the bunny slope but he didn't think we were ready which was fine. Everyone was fine practicing going down a quarter down the slope. We enjoyed our time at Killington. The lessons were great! All of the coaches were great and helpful even if they were in the middle of a lesson. The lodge was very clean. The outside was spacious with plenty of space for everyone but it def can get very crowded.

Yelp
My family and I have stayed in many properties in and around the Killington area, during both winter and summer months. Although there are pros and cons everywhere, the Killington Grand Hotel simply offers the best location and the nicest facilities. You are at the base of the snowshed area and base lodge within minutes, simply by walking over the bridge out the back door. From here you can access all trails, lifts. During the summer months, this is also ground zero for all activities including zip line, the Beast coaster, and mountain biking (which by the way, is some of the best on the East coast). Within the hotel is a variety of room sizes, some with kitchens some without. Try to get one with mountain views. They have a top-notch fitness center and Spa, and an outdoor heated pool and hot tub (if you've never swam in a 90-degree pool in the middle of winter, you have to try it)! Also in the hotel you'll find the newly renovated restaurant, renamed Prestons. It's 10 times better than the old restaurant that used to be here, great menu and excellent service. Insiders tip: Bruce is a great bartender!

Joseph H.

Yelp
Rooms are spacious and spotless. Great mattress.Great staff , and bar. The restaurant has booths, and the restaurant staff is fabulous. The food is overpriced, and to say its not the best is being kind. Water pressure in the shower is horrible. Won't be back.

Yelp
I went to a wedding in Killington and stayed for four nights. I booked my room with Caryn Casey Hurka. I had already called the front desk number and was somehow transferred to some company outside the hotel that led me astray. When I finally bought my nights with Caryn, I told her that I wasn't sure of the exact date but it was sometime around the 15th and that I wanted to stay Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Well of course I did not show up for the 15th and they charged me for the room. Apparently Caryn lied to her boss and told him that I had mentioned the 15th but not that I said I would arrive on Thursday because she did not have the courage nor character to tell the truth but instead chose to be a liar. When I got to the front desk to contest it the night I arrived, the punk at the front desk talked down to me and treated me like I was a criminal. He told me that the manager at already made up his mind that they were going to charge me. So, I did not bother talking to the manager after a punk head treated me so rudely. This place has no ethics nor cares about the customer. It seems that it's all about money. I would never recommend that anybody goes to search an immorally-run hotel.

Yelp
Stayed in one of the three BR Penthouses recently and we had a great time...expensive, but had a great time in the pool and hot tub after Mountain Biking. Points off for $53+ gratuity added to our bill for 'daily room cleaning', which they never cleaned once while we where there for 4 days/3 nights! Also, no daily breakfast that's included in price because 'Covid'. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the rooms next to you. Not happy with paying for things that we never received and forced gratuity billed for services not rendered.

Susan A.

Yelp
We decided to forego the bed and breakfast grind this time in lieu of the extreme convenience this hotel offers by being directly mountain side. There is a free ski check and you're at the lifts after a short walk over the bridge across the lake. We had a studio room with mountain view which was great. The room was quite big and not at all run down or old. It was very nice with a flat screen LG TV and DVD player and free DVD rentals. Now the food is super important to me as a traveler! The breakfast was awesome! Free with every reservation. It's a hot breakfast buffet which changes slightly every day (we stayed for 4 days). Fresh Belgian waffles, an omelet station (choice of onion, tomato, peppers, mushrooms, sausage, ham, bacon), french toast vs pancakes (one day pumpkin), bacon, sausage vs ham, potatoes, scrambled eggs. Oh and there's an "egg special" every day, my favorite was a poached egg over smoked salmon in a puff pastry ring type thing. Fresh fruit with yogurt, hot oatmeal, toast and bagels, a variety of beverages, some small pastries. What else could you want honestly? Preston's was awesome as well. Definitely make sure you eat here at least once during your stay. Check out the menu, it's great. Don't write it off as a crappy hotel restaurant. The pool and sauna were cool but frankly usually quite crowded especially apres ski time. And I do mean completely packed out with families with their several little children. They also let kids in the sauna which was awkward. Everyone was also beyond nice and hospitable. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
This place has basically anything you might need from straight access to ski area to dozens of outdoor activities even in fall (when we visited). The view is amazing and during foliage it almost felt surreal as it feels like staying inside a painter's palette. However the whole thing doesn't come cheap so it's worth only if you're planning to experience at least a good part of the services they're offering. If you, just like us, are looking for a place where to sleep then it's definitely better to look for other options (unless, again like in our case, it's the only available place in Killington :)) You are not wasting money in any case, but you are paying a good part of the price for services you'll not be using. Staff was wonderful, very friendly and professional and I liked the idea to see all of them dressed for Halloween even at the beginning of October (lots of kids around).

Yelp
First of all, I do want to preface this review with the fact that 1. I was staying here for a one day conference, not an actual ski vacation 2. It was "off season" so perhaps it is not an accurate portrayal of the overall quality of the establishment... But on we go. I drove about 4.5 hours from my home in Maine for a one day health conference at the Killington Grand. Before we even arrived at the hotel, I received a text message from my coworker that said "eat dinner before you arrive! No restaurant!" I found that hard to believe, but just to be safe we had a delicious dinner in Woodstock before we began driving up the mountain. Thank goodness we did because it was true the restaurant was not open! I could not believe that with two large events going on, they wouldn't have any food available! The conference was skimpily catered. We were told there would be a full breakfast, but there was only pastries and donuts (which, some people may not even have been able to eat due to health restrictions!) We then had boxed lunches, which were filling enough (sandwiches and chips), but the conference was over at 3, and that was the end of the food! In order to get any meal after that you had to drive down the entire steep mountain, which we really had not anticipated doing until we had to leave. Besides that, I thought this was a pretty nice establishment. We had a decent sized room with a flat screen TV, DVD player, and stereo system! There was also Starbucks coffee stocked with our coffee pot which I found to be very impressive! The bathroom was small, and our little "deck/balcony" only overlooked the parking lot, but I didn't find either to be too upsetting. Something else that was small, but I found made the room very cozy was little ski decorations and accessories throughout the room. The handles on the entertainment center doors and drawers were little wooden skis and there was a painting of snowmakers on the mountain at night! After our conference, I had some time to kill before we ventured down the mountain for dinner, and I happened to walk by the spa, which WAS actually open! I treated myself to a facial, and let me just say that was worth the entire trip! They didn't have a nail tech until the coming weekend, so that ruled out manis and pedis for my colleagues, but I decided to splurge and have never felt so rejuvenated! The staff was very friendly, and not overbearing when helping me choose what treatment to have, and they did not rush me out when I was finishing my cucumber water after my facial. The spa itself was cute (with a little zen garden in the waiting area) but offered a great variety of services. It was definitely the highlight of my off season stay! Overall I think this would definitely be perfect for a couple's ski retreat! I imagine it's beautiful in the winter. But if you're going to stay in the "off season," Be prepared to do some hunting gathering, and bring money for the amazing spa, cause it's the only thing open!

Amelia B.

Yelp
For proximity to the mountain, you can't get much better. Granted, I wasn't there to ski but to run a race up and down the mountain during the summer, but you get my drift. Our one bedroom suite (complete with a Murphy bed in the living room! My first Murphy bed experience! It was so cool, I swear, and I didn't die by it folding back up into the wall) was well-stocked with a complete kitchen. In fact, I was amazed--full stove, full-sized refrigerator, enough dinner settings to feed a small army, and all the pots and pans you needed for making an elaborate pasta dinner to carbo-load pre-race. Other are right--this place is a maze. There are only 3 floors, but the floors extend on for.ev.er. If you aren't near the elevator, expect a hefty walk to your room. I'm all for exercise, but not after I've just run a marathon up and down the ski slopes. The outdoor pool and hot tub are nice, and the views are killer, of course. Staff was friendly and helpful, and they were totally cool with all the mud I left behind in my room. Thanks guys!

Yelp
For any avid winter sports enthusiast, Killington, Vermont, is the premier destination on the East Coast. providing a wide array of downhill slope's and other winter activities, it is an outstandingly planned and designed resort. One of the problems of this resort, is that you will never want to leave. The Grand Lodge Hotel is perfectly situated within the resort. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I recommend to get a room that looks out onto the mountain, I simply prefer that view. What stands out most at this hotel and resort is the high quality, friendliness, and charm of all the staff. At the front desk, the adorable, bubbly, witty and funny Alana will always point you in the right direction with everything you need to know (and she always is styled in a hip way with lots of character). The general manager Duane shines as he is kind, accommodating, and will ensure your stay is ideal. Sam, at breakfast will make the best omelettes (ask for the Yuval King Omelette). Restaurant supervisor/manager Maggie will arrange for a superb meal and make you laugh, along with bartender Dorothy who is as cool as she is funny. I look forward to my next stay. This place makes me wish winters were longer!

Yelp
Poor treatment, full of excuses, and non-apologetic front desk girl for having me on hold for 24 minutes. Note: We just checked in today for the next 4 days of mountain biking and golf for our good friend Jared's bachelor party. We had a quick lunch across the street at the golf club. While at lunch we learned we needed to ship car keys back to his fiancé doctor that were left in his car. All I was trying to do was confirm if this place can ship stuff for us. We ended up finishing lunch and walking over before they finally picked up the phone. No apologies, just immediate excuses that they were busy. I wouldn't have filed this rating but due to her rudeness and higher than tho attitude, you guys deserve it. I told her I would contact her superiors and her again response was go ahead. All she had to do was be nice, with apologies, and ask for more time since there were some families at the counter when I walked up. Note she claimed to be busy but had a second girl on the next desk helping. Again, you have to at least pick up the phone every few minutes and simply check in on a customer. PS it's the girl with the shaved head.

Kan C.

Yelp
This hotel is the best location at Killington. I been coming here for the past 18 years. I parked my car and don't need to see the car until I leave. They have everything in the hotel. I didn't try the fitness equipment, because I usually hit outdoor Jacuzzi after the long day of snowboarding. Make sure you try out the outdoor swimming pool before you check out. The Hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Jeanna G.

Yelp
The best spa I have been to yet! Exceptional service and very clean establishment. The masseuses are amazing and cater to your every need. They are very keen on realizing what you are looking for in a massage and make sure you get exactly what you are looking for. When you first arrive the receptionist greets you and you are directed to the lockers and bathroom/changing rooms. The BATHROOMS ARE UNBELIEVABLE! The showers in here are the most amazing with spouts shooting out of the sides of the walls and from over head its and unbelievable soothing feeling. You are given a robe and slippers to change into. Once you are changed you can sit in the waiting room that has complimentary coffee and fruit enhanced water. Once your masseuse is ready for you she/he will come get you and bring you to your room, once in there they ask for your preference and to lie down on the bed. Once you are ready they knock on the door to come in and begin the massage. Once you are done the masseuse leaves the room and allows you time to get dressed. Then I usually change into my bathing suite for a dip in the most amazing pool I have ever been in. You enter the pool from the inside of the building and exit outside thru what I call the meat locker lol (panels of plastic to keep out the cold) and you enter the outdoor pool that is heated to the perfect temperature that you don't feel cold at all even though it is snowing on you outside. There are two hot tubs on the outside of the pool that are really great. Kids love the pool because there is usually snow surrounding it and they like to make snowballs and watch them disappear in the water. (Kind of cute reminds me of when I was younger and what I would have been doing)

Benji M.

Yelp
Great location. Good accommodations. Loved the pool and hot tubs best. Preston's was also a 4-Star restaurant in my view. Front desk staff don't always have answers to your questions but it all gets worked out. (It could have been that we were here early in the season and people were still learning...) Low point is probably the spa. While our couples massage was just fine, it was not worth $250. The waiting room we were brought to had no water, just an old Keurig we operated ourselves. The music was jarring, like the ending credits to a dark, sad movie. I know what mood they were going for, but they missed it horribly. It was playing in the massage room too. Overall, I recommend the hotel but not the spa services.

Yelp
Writing this review having not seen the scenery or landscape as we arrived after dark around 8pm. So, based only on our room appearance, I rated 3/5. Our first room given to us was okay. We asked to be moved because one of the beds was left pulled away from the wall and the headboard was sort of leaning forward. There was also a stain on the lampshade. After asking for another room (front desk lady was professional in dealing with my complains and request - thank you blonde lady), the next room had a lightbulb out in the lamp between the beds. There's NO overhead lighting hence the need for working lamps.... right? Maintenance came quickly and asked why we had a problem with the first room because all that was needed was "the bed to be pushed back against the wall." Oh! If only we knew we had to do that ourselves! Attached are photos of the 2nd room. Nothing to write home (or anywhere) about so maybe people who write all of the raving reviews are out of the room all day and too tired to notice the appearance of their own room.

Alex G.

Yelp
This is a classic case of what you pay for you get. The hotel room was very nice. Fancy bathroom. Great water pressure in the shower. You could control the heat. Very comfortable pillows. The pool and fitness area looked amazing (unfortunately wasn't able to use it). The conferences rooms and inside of the resort is nice. Only downside is that it's located in a weird spot the way they did the roads and parking.

Larry R.

Yelp
Food was pretty good but overpriced and service was TERRIBLE . They had big problems seating a party of 11 as promised. After a long wait to be seated, our food took forever! Go down Killington Road to another restaurant instead. A glass of wine and a martini at the bar before dinner cost $27.

Colleen A.

Yelp
1 star for proximity to the lifts. Otherwise, zero stars. Thin walls and a poorly constructed building are not an excuse for management's refusal to deny guests the comfort of a quiet stay. When you have a room full of drunk, coked up spoiled brats above you, and you're informed that they're "owners," and after 2 dozen complaints, phone calls, security guards, state police intervention...and this carries on and on for days...not even the most breathtaking ski experience is worth it. What does this say to the guests? That Killington values the 1/4 share holder owners more than the one time out-of-state weekend guests. So at almost $400/night for our studio suite, we are so low on the food chain that we should quietly tolerate the incessant banging and partying going on above our heads...yes, because the animals above us are owners. The Killington Grand Resort staff have to be the most poorly trained, ineffective staff in the industry. It started with the excuses -- oh they're just settling in, maybe they're wearing their ski boots inside, I'm sure the noise will quiet down soon...I ***100% assure you*** that they will quiet down now. You would expect this kind of shoulder shrugging, "the problem will work itself out" nonchalance from a 1 1/2 star roach motel on the side of an interstate, but not from the Killington "Grand" (???) Resort. To make a long story short, we checked out this morning. A day early. I should have been snowboarding today, not driving home. Full refund was issued (after way too much arguing over the situation), but our vacation was still ruined. It literally pained the management to refund us, it was evident in their meek, barely audible apologies. Other issues (which are slight in comparison to the negligence of the staff and the shitbags they allow to stay here) -- barely any dining options at the resort with terrible hours, only 2 small hot tubs which are jam packed on a busy weekend, and of course herds of unattended kids running through the hotel. I've been to ski resorts all over this great country and never in my life have I experienced such an abomination. Management and staff, if you are reading this...you should be ashamed of yourselves. We were disgusted with our experience and plan on telling EVERYONE WE KNOW to stay far, far away from here.

Yelp
To be honest, this was the absolute best service I have ever received! Alyce, you MADE our trip! You went above and beyond and I would come back. Thank you Alyce, this hotel is lucky to have you. After our four hour drive you let us check in early, you changed our spot so we could have the pool and hot tube because the condos hot tub and pool were under renovation. You gave us the Mountain View from our windows and provided us with such genuine hospitality that I had to write this review about you. Whoever your managers are, I want to let them know that you displayed an amiable, efficient, and professional demeanor that made me feel warmly attended to and relaxed throughout the weekend. Don't ever change Alyce! -Kelsey

Yelp
I think we have, after staying in a different hotel every time we come to Killington, found one we may possibly stick to. The hotel is right off of the slopes with a bridge that you cross straight into the ski storage area of the hotel and then get to the elevators. Big plus. The rooms are very big, and they have ovens, microwaves etc to prepare snacks and food and all of that. The murphy beds are actually very comfortable and big, and I dont usually say that. The rooms are clean. The service is immaculate at all hours of the day and night. They have DVD rental. They have 2 hot tubs and a heated pool. They have a sauna and a steam room. They have a highly functional and affordable bar and restaurant. They have breakfast that is yummy hot and cold, and has everything and has good service. They have fireplaces you can take your drinks by. One star off for too many kiddies (I know they cant control that, but neither can I.) And because they charge 6 dollars if you open the slippers-that is not ok. Otherwise, really love it!

Yelp
It could have been worse. When we first arrived, an alarm clock in the neighboring room was going off. I mentioned this to the concierge. The alarm clock continued to go off everyday for hours throughout our stay. The restaurant, "Ovations," is more of a barfing ovation than a standing ovation. I should have known from the start when the french onion soup was inedible. How is it possible to be incapable of making something so simple? Everything about this place is dated, and not in a good way. When I say dated, I mean old and strange. The price does not reflect the quality. The ONLY compliments I can give: the pool is nice and you can't beat the location. This place would be most suitable for people with children or no standards.

Yelp
We stayed here over my birthday and really enjoyed it. My biggest reason for picking this hotel was the location. We were skiing with our two young children and just wanted to be able to easily walk everywhere. The location did not disappoint- there is a little footbridge and you cross over to one of the lifts. Not more than a 7 minute walk with ski boots. There is a handy ski check area when you get back in the evening and the guys that work there are awesome. The room was similar to other ski resort rooms. Pretty nice, especially the bathroom which had clearly been recently renovated. The room was spacious which was a plus due to all of our gear. We had a great view onto the mountain. Only negative was probably that the room was very hot, even without the heat on, and we had to keep leaving the window open in the dead of winter. The staff at the front desk, bell desk, restaurant, etc were all top notch. We loved the free shuttle to nearby restaurants- eliminated the need to drive and meant that we could have a few drinks. I had a spa treatment which was also excellent. The outdoor heated pool and hot tubs were also a lot of fun. Great place, will definitely return!

Yelp
We love coming here every year! It would be five stars but I think the resort needs to look into adding an age requirement for the hot tub. Most places we go to have an under 16 or 15 age limit for hot tubs due to concern. The tubs were filled with kids def 12 and under when we were there..so not only that but whatever adults\parents (if any) were there when the kids were running around dangerously not saying anything made me nervous the whole time they would get hurt.

Yelp
The best place to stay on the mountain! Rooms are clean. Service is always friendly. Our family loves the outdoor heated pool and the location to the lifts. We have been staying here for years and have never had a bad experience.

Yelp
My husband and I stay at the Grand every summer. We always book a bike and stay package. For the price, it can't be beat! The accommodations are clean and up-to-date. The pool and hot tub area is inviting with beautiful views of the mountain. I just wish they would keep the pool open later. You swim at your own risk anyhow. One downfall...there aren't enough ice and vending machines throughout the hotel. The building is quite large and you are often stuck with a long walk to/from your room. Perhaps secure side entrances could solve this problem? The staff have always been nice and accommodating.

Yelp
Liked the resort, hated the room. I had a hard time with the rating on this one since there were parts of this trip I really liked and parts that I really didn't. So it got a middle of the road rating from me. Here's the scoop: The good: - Overall, the service was good. All of the staff members we encountered on our 4 night stay were friendly and helpful. - The heated outdoor pool/hot tubs. These were so refreshing! You can enter the pool from inside the building and wade through a plastic curtain to get outside (no swimming under anything needed). You do have to take a few steps out of the pool to get into a hot tub, but the water is perfect and that wasn't an issue. Bring a hand towel to sit on, though, as the seats in the hot tub will snag your swimsuit. - The valet service. Complimentary and prompt. We didn't actually see a valet until the last day, which was nice because we didn't feel the need to fish for tips each time we called the car. You simply call down and request your car and it is waiting for you out front all warm and toasty when you get there. We did one larger tip at the end and that was it. - Ski and boot check. They don't allow that stuff in the room, so you check it right at the entrance from the slopes. No lugging. - Breakfast. The included breakfast was a really nice buffet complete with an omelet station. We had expected some lame continental spread, but this was a full and hearty breakfast. - The slopes. Lift lines were short and they did work hard to get a lot of terrain open. The trails were very long and there were plenty to choose from. The bad: - Our studio room. From the poor layout to the outdated heating system to the uncomfortable bed, this room was a complete flop for us. My boyfriend dubbed it the "midget room". It could have been really nice if only they had thought about it, but they clearly didn't. The layout was terrible for the space. We had a corner room, so 1/4 of the room had a roof line jutting into it, rendering that part of the room fairly useless. There was way too much furniture in the room, and much of it unnecessary. For example, there was a table for 6 in a room that sleeps 2, which made for a 1 foot wide aisle when the murphy bed was down. Try navigating that in the middle of the night in the dark. The bathroom was also awkward, with a door that barely cleared the toilet and bunched up the bath mat every time you opened it. The murphy bed did indeed contain a regular mattress on a platform, but it wasn't a comfortable one and every move each of us made was felt by the other. And we moved around a lot because neither of us could get/stay comfortable with the old-fashioned wall unit for HVAC. Two heat/cool and high/low buttons accompanied a warmer/colder dial. No thermostat, so we adjusted it about 100 times throughout the 4 night stay. For the prices, we were both surprised that this hadn't been updated. The shower completed the experience with water pressure that would not stay consistent, forcing you to step forward and back throughout your shower and taking forever to rinse. - The "convenient ski-bridge access" wasn't really all that convenient. In ski boots, that's a long walk and very windy. If you are expecting ski in/ski out, this doesn't really deliver that. - The on-site restaurant, Preston's, was overpriced and underwhelming. We ate there the first night and then not again. The food was average, but billed as fine dining and priced accordingly. I was willing to try it again on the last day for lunch (mostly since I didn't want to go outside), but found that it doesn't open until 3. That means that there is no actual lunch served on site. If you are hungry mid-day, your options are some pre-packaged deli stuff in the gift shop or leaving the building. - The overpriced and underwhelming commentary also goes for all of the eateries at the base lodges and the gift shop food/drink selections. We spent $35 on two boring sandwiches and a bottle of water. Pack a lunch and save the money to do something fun with the savings. - Can I get a drink? So if you purchase beer/wine at the gift shop, you are only allowed to drink it in the room. If you want to drink elsewhere on the property, you have to purchase at the bar. No problem, except the bar isn't open until 3 and the servers don't leave the bar area. Want a glass of wine in the hot tub or on the sofa near the fireplace? You have to go get it (which from the pool in winter is a long way). So forget a mid-afternoon drink outside the room because there is no place to buy it.

Yelp
The primary problem with this hotel is that it is cheaply constructed -- walls and ceilings are thin and noisy. Not a good idea, especially for a ski hotel where people occasionally walk around wearing ski boots (like the guy in the room above me at 6:30 on the first morning). The hotel is very close to the lifts -- you can ski back to the hotel, but you have to walk to the lift. The restaurant seems to be under different management every time I'm here (been here about 6 times over the past 10 years), so it's extremely inconsistent. I didn't eat there this time, so can't comment on it. The gym/fitness center isn't bad -- the equipment is about 10 years old, but still mostly in good shape. It's on the eastern side of the hotel so it is bright and sunny in the morning. My key card stopped working on the second day of my stay -- not a huge deal, it was resolved quickly with a visit to the front desk, but still annoying. Also, the entertainment center has three items -- a TV, DVD, and stereo. Unfortunately, there is only one outlet with two plugs on the wall behind the entertainment center. Not that you need all three plugged in at the same time, but it was confusing when I couldn't get the TV to turn on (because it was the one of the three that was unplugged). The bathroom sink drained VERY slowly, which is an indication of cheap plumbing not fitting of a hotel. Beds are very comfortable. That's it. Don't have super high expectations, but it's a decent place, especially if you are used to a larger, full-service hotel (as opposed to a condo or a B&B)

Yelp
There is much to enjoy and appreciate at the Grand and we felt welcomed from our first moments there. The staff who park your car and answer questions were knowledgeable and helped to help and did not have their hands out if you know what I mean. There was a slight problem with our "murphy" bed but a guy came along in about 10 minuites and problem solved. The rooms are fresh, clean and what you would expect... The store had a decent selection of wine and beer and sundry items. The Arcade had a good selection on games and looked new. There is a ping pong table right off of the arcade room The outdoor pool is amazing and the 2 hot tubs were great in the falling swow ! The kids will love it and you will have to work to get them back to the room ! There is also a spacious steam and dry Sauna Rooms next to the indoor access to the outdoor pool. There are various spa treatments as well (next time) Ovations Restaurant is overall very good.. the breakfasts were delicious and so was the kid's cheeseburger. I'm telling you you cannot find a better one ! There is a fireplace just outside Ovations(a real one !) with couches on either side, etc. Very Cosy. The bus service to the mountain was about every 10 min. I don't know how it is in the busy season, but we got to and from the mountain effortlessly. You can also store your ski gear behind the front desk which is nice. Overall a great experience and you can't get any closer to Killington !

Yelp
Nice rooms with outdoor activities! Outdoor pool is wonderful. Ski in and out is great!!! Nice restaurant but missing some nightlife. We get here once a year at least!! Love it!

Yelp
I have stayed here twice while my husband did Spartan races on the mountain (9/2014 and 9/2016). Since I don't race, the quality of the room is important to me. These rooms are nice. They are clean and spacious. Our room both times had a Murphy bed, a kitchen area and a comfortable sectional. The bathroom is decently sized and nice. In 2014 I did have a spa treatment, which was nice, and priced about what you would think for a hotel/resort spa. All of the staff has been very friendly both times.

Yelp
The Grand Resort Hotel has a great location right at the foot of one of Killington's mountains. It offers a gorgeous view all year round. The service is friendly and attentive. During the off-season it's a bit sparser but I don't think there was a moment where I felt like I had to hunt someone down. The rooms are nicely kept with a balcony and free wifi. The wifi worked great even out onto the outdoor decks off the main floor. The conference center is OK. The access ways to and from the ballrooms are a bit cramped especially when you have a couple hundred people filtering through between break-outs. I also am not sure that they plan capacity well for the larger conferences as I've heard folks end up really cramped in some of the ballrooms. The bar and lounge is nice but small. They also have a tiny Starbucks service in the gift shop which is handy for early morning refreshment. The parking lot could use a refurbish but there seemed to be plenty of it available close by. I would consider staying here again if I ever am back to the area.

Yelp
We rented a 3-br suite for 5 days in Dec. 2015. We were given a multi-level unit on the first floor with 2 beds downstairs. The upstairs room had a full bed (not a queen or king). The King bed was on the lower level. There was a tiny balcony off of the common area, but it had a not-so-great view of the service area and parking lot. If you sat down, the views of the mountain were great. Room 166 is at the end of the hallway and very quiet because of the location, but a loooooong walk from the lobby. The room was recently updated, and everything was nice and clean. The heater in the bathroom was a nice touch, and my feet were never cold from the stone floor. The cleaning service would show up around 9am each day to tidy up. Some days they did a fantastic job, other days they did a quick turn-around of the room, but nothing to complain about. The downside to this particular room was the 25 stairs to get to the lower rooms (25!). After a long day on the slopes, you may have trouble with your legs working well, and those stairs start to look like a hazzard. The lower rooms were more of a suite because you had to walk through one bedroom to get to the room with the King bed. So, essentially you had no privacy if you were in the smaller bedroom on the lower level. This layout is probably the best possible use of the space, but still something that the Grand should disclose. There are no floor plans on their website to let you know what the 3-br suite looks like. The pool was great - we used it almost every night. The pool has an entry from the indoors, so if its really cold out, you can hop into it from the inside and go through a plastic door to the outside while in the water. The hottubs were wonderful as well, and since the lifts close at 4pm, there's time to enjoy the pool before dinner. It would be nice if the bar had someone come out to the hot tubs to take drink orders.

Yelp
SPA IS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. I want to start and say that this review is only about the spa. I was very excited to undergo some relaxing spa services after a long day on the slopes. I booked myself a spa mani/pedi that cost $150. Very expensive I might add. When I arrived at the spa, I was very disappointed with the size and look of the spa. I was taken to sit in the "tranquility room" which was the opposite of tranquil as it was 2 chairs that were placed in a hallway directly outside of the 5 treatment rooms. The entire spa consisted of a hallway with 5 rooms, the 2 chairs in the "tranquility room" (ie hallway), a room at the end of the hallway which was a combination of 3 more chairs to sit and wait for the services in and the mani/pedi chairs, and a small hallway with a few lockers in that were co-ed. That was it. My spa mani/pedi was supposed to last 90 min (45 min for each service). My pedicure had nothing "spa" to it and was over in 20 minutes. The technician did not cut my cuticles, use any special masks as the menu described, or use any hot towels. The tech massaged my feet for literally 5 seconds each. When I realized that the pedi was over 20 minutes into the service when I was paying for 45 min, the tech told me that the 45 min included drying time. Really, I was paying for 25 min of drying time?? The manicure was also over very quickly and had no spa qualities at all. The tech didn't even cut my cuticles or push them back. And the nail polish selection was so small. And the polish was so old that it starting chipping off a few hours later! I told the manager that I was not going to pay $150 for less than an hours worth of services. I told her that I would pay the express mani/pedi price and she agreed. Overall, I was soooooo disappointed and would not recommend the spa.

Yelp
The beds are pretty comfortable, which is important after a long day of skiing, and the reservations staff were exceptionally nice; however, I almost died of smoke inhalation due to an issue with the fireplace! Several of our neighbors set off their fire alarms as well, also in an attempt to have a fire for the evening. This is a very dangerous situation! When we stayed in a room at ground level, there were no issues, but the higher floor rooms need some remodeling of their chimneys.

Noah K.

Yelp
Hotel is a bit "tired" and dated looking. Check-in was relatively smooth but the hotel provided Internet was non-functional and worse than useless. (They outsourced it to another company - tech support was polite but as useless as the hotel's non-functional Internet.). Linens were clean but of poor quality. The hotel provided an in-room coffee maker with coffee but with NO coffee cups. This place is full of half hearted attempts to provide a premium experience that all fail due to lousy execution. To summarize, this place is fine as a place to crash when skiing -- but if you are looking for any kind of luxury, seek lodging elsewhere.

Kathy P.

Yelp
This place is so small. If you need any proof of the size, please refer to the pullout bed that I use to sit at the dining table. For $400 I was expecting a real bed, not a pullout one. This is by far the most hyped and disappointing ski resort hotel room I have ever been to room wise. The staff, I don't care much for. The bathroom sinks are nice but thats about it.

Yelp
This is an exceptional hotel with some great features. On the plus side: - some great units - in addition to standard hotel rooms there are studios with kitchens, and larger 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites, some on multiple floors. We've stayed a number of times, and getting something other than a standard hotel room makes a big difference; - the pool and hot tubs - these are large outdoor hot tubs and outdoor heated pool. Imagine a day of skiing followed by a swim in 90+ degree pool or 110+ degree hot tub, looking directly at the slopes. You enter from inside, and swim outdoors. My kids love it when it is snowing. Add a nice steam room, sauna and large well equipped gym and the spa is a great facility. - at the base of the mountain - ski over to the snowshed lift (or go back to the hotel for lunch) - just across a small bridge, its great; - game room for the kids; - laundry facility; nice common areas, with fireplace, etc.; - free WIFI internet; - all the Killington night spots and restaurants just down the road; (i) great views - except perhaps from the first floor parking lot side rooms; - friendly staff; ski check room. The downsides: - hallways can be noisy - try to get a room toward the end of the hallway so hallway noise doesn't disturb you; So in sum - its a great place and the outdoor pool and hot tubs are enough to warrant a visit on their own. Add in the location, and some great rooms and this is a wonderful place to stay!

Yelp
Huge disappointment. Booked here because Carnage moved to Killington this year, and I'm not sure I'll go back next year. The room with kitchenette was tiny, and I could hear EVERYTHING in the room next door - and they were not being loud. Normal conversation could be heard clearly - as though I were sitting in the room with them. Once in bed (Murphy bed) there was no way to turn lights on/off as all switches and lights were so far away. No lights near the bed, so reading in bed was not possible. Killington also charges a "Service Charge" on the bill, a percentage of the room charge - and they use this for housekeeping services. (Yet no where on the site or when I asked staff did they tell me this. It took a few phone calls to get an answer.) I wish I had known, especially since I left money for housekeeping. Apparently I tipped them twice. Too bad they couldn't be bothered to get the giant dead spiders out of my room or clean the pubes off the shower walls before I checked in. Service/staff was iffy and I'm not impressed for the money I paid. The in-hotel restaurant was icky, and everything was overpriced. ($1 per Tampax in the restrooms. Wow.) The pool was open for limited hours, and the gym closes at night. Why is the exercise equipment not available 24 hours a day like the arcade or laundry? Is it really too hard to put a swipe lock on the door?

Yelp
We just stayed here to do The Spartan Beast Race. From check-in to check-out, we loved our stay. Room 308 has a great view of the mountain and I recommend the even - numbered rooms as they have the better views. The room was nice, even though our bed pulled down from the wall ( still comfortable). The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meal. The heated pool and hot tubs were awesome. The gym, although we didn't use due to our race, had a great variety of equipment. I had a Swedish Massage and it was great. The food at the restaurant was very good. And we were allowed to checkout late. Really, no complaints. We are already planning to come back this winter.

Yelp
You would think the place was seriously going to be grand. The rooms are pretty sad-but that's ALL snow hotels/chalets. I mean we're talking murphy bed BUT this hotel rocks becauses ITS so close to the slopes-walk over a little footbridge and your on a lift. The outdoor pool here is enormous and so nice and hot! We did NYE here last year, and it was kinda quiet-but also kinda nice that way. The place is run by teenagers but once you get over that, this is a good spot to lay your head for some nights while skiing/boarding at Killington! It doesn't come cheap, but talk about not having to slep your stuff around...you can even store your board/skis overnight, and never has to come up to your room. It may not be the grandest, nothing really is on the East Coast, but you can have a grand time while staying here and skiing on Killington.

Yelp
This hotel claims to have a "shuttle service" but if you want to go downtown on a Saturday night, take your own car. We were dropped off where we wanted to go, but then left waiting outside in subzero temps for almost an hour for a ride back
