Yelp
Hyped up and so overrated! Very disappointed and would never go back. We got the cod & fish, seafood box and garlic mushrooms. Opened the box with the mushrooms to find then literally laying in a layer of grease. I used 2 napkins to soak up the grease. The mushroom themselves were a dark brown, almost burnt to a crisp, and when you bite into them your mouth was soaked in grease :((. The seafood box: calamari was the opposite of the 'dead' mushrooms and pale as a ghost. Cod super greasy batter and not eatable like the mushrooms although the cod inside was flaky and good. Haddock was the best thing in the box both in flavour and batter, which was different to the cod. Fish and chips: batter same as above, very greasy but cod inside was good. The chips were totally bland.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite meals we had in Ireland. We were only in Killybegs for one night and none of other restaurants looked very good. The guy at the visitor's center told us about this place so we decided to give it a try. She is known for having the best seafood chowder in County Donegal (she won a competition). We tried to get it, but unfortunately, she was leaving for vacation the next day and had run out so we didn't get to try it. We all got the seafood box so we could try a little bit of everything. It came with calamari, scampi, haddock, cod, and chips. The calamari was the best I've had. The scampi was also delicious. The regular fish which I believe was haddock was very good. The fish sticks which I think were the cod were just ok. The chips were pretty good. You can also choose your sauce so I got the tartar and the pink sauce. I would probably do the scampi and calamari (half and half) next time. Everything is made fresh, so after you order you wait about 10 minutes for your food. It's cash only and there is an ATM across the street. There is no seating so we ate at the picnic table outside the visitor's center. We had fish and chips several times on our trip and this was definitely the best we had. If you are in the area, this is definitely a must try!

Yelp
Overall Value: Awesome. Seriously, just off the charts. It is food like this that I live for - they have a small menu, and do it phenomenally well at a great price. It also happened to be the very best seafood we had in Ireland/UK. We actually drove a little out of the way to try this place on our way from the Giant's Causeway to Belfast, and it was absolutely worth it. I wish we could return! The Food: We got the Seafood Box (£12.00), which includes all of their main menu items - fried haddock, cod, scampi, calamari, and chips. We also got the Seafood Chowder (£6.00), which they won an award for, and split these among the two of us. The portions in the Seafood Box were extremely generous, and everything was so, so fresh. Super high quality seafood that is fried while you wait. Big cuts of fish that were perfectly crunchy on the outside and delicate and moist on the inside, and actually packed a lot of flavor. It was so far above and beyond every other fish & chips that we ate in Ireland/UK (and we ate a lot), it really put the rest to shame. The Seafood Chowder was also delicious, with lots of big chunks of seafood - definitely worth trying. But really, the star of the show was the seafood box. Even though this was definitely enough food for two and we were full, I do wish we had ordered more - I probably would have felt gross afterwards, but it was just so good. Alas. Space and Pace: This is an outdoor food shack right by the water in the middle of the small town. Everything is freshly made, so there was about an 8-10 minute wait until our order was ready. There isn't any formal seating, although you can sit by the water to eat. It was a little windy and chilly, so we just took it back to our car to eat. Service: Very friendly and answered our questions. Keep it up!

Yelp
Fantastic, fresh seafood. We had the seafood box which included calamari (the best I've ever had), shrimp scampi (the best I've ever had), fried haddock (delicious) and cod fish sticks (ok, but taste buds were worn out by this point). The box included chips which were ok. I suggest getting the calamari and shrimp, perhaps doubling up. There is no seating at this restaurant, we went to a picnic table at the visitors center and enjoyed the views.
