Trying to review the restaurant only - but Google Maps only has a hotel listing. Five stars all around for the restaurant. We stopped in while traveling from the USA after a local recommended the food. We had the curry, a steak, and the beef pie, and everyone loved their dish. The portions are enormous. Dessert - sticky toffee pudding, chocolate cake, and a sundae - were also all hits. Make sure you get there early and check the Daily Specials. We stopped in earlier in the day and saw some dishes we wanted, but by the time we got there in the evening they had sold out.

Kilmartin Hotel is a truly charming place to stay and an ideal base when you're exploring the Scottish Highlands. First off, the parking space is super convenient, which is a huge plus in this area. Our room was perfectly big enough, clean, and felt modern enough for a comfortable stay. You get a good night's sleep, and that's exactly what you need after a day of sightseeing. The hotel benefits immensely from its location, offering pleasant views of the surrounding Kilmartin Glen. Being right in the heart of such a historic and beautiful landscape is a real treat. Downstairs, the bar and restaurant are a real highlight. We loved starting our mornings with their classic Scottish breakfast – it's hearty and sets you up perfectly for the day. In the evenings, the bar is a welcoming spot.

great place, well frequented by locals, good tasty food, well presented by friendly and efficient staff. We came back for a second meal as the atmosphere was good and the menu varied.|Reasonable prices and lots on the plate. A place to stay as well- we will try to come back next year.

Both outside and inside this place needs refurbishing. We nearly walked out again when we went in at lunchtime to book a table for dinner. When we came for the meal the bar was busy and all the tables in the three dining areas were taken so best reserve if you are visiting. Menu was extensive, service by the industrious staff fast, and the dishes generously portioned and delicious. We enjoyed the meal so much we came back again the next night. Recommended, so don't be put off by the appearance.

We were staying in the area and we had heard how good the food and service was at The Kilmartin Hotel, so we booked a table and headed there with a family of 5. We were not disappointed, the service was spot on, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the food was just as good, great selection for adults and children. The size of the childrens menu did not disappoint either, great portion sizes for our 9 year old. We would highly recommend for a family meal as a treat, and this comes from a tight Yorkshireman...

Perfect place to stay while exploring Kilmartin Glen Next to newly-refurbished Museum Great food & staff. Very much the centre of the local community. We had a superb view down to the Crinan canal

We ate here in late July 2025. The food was everything you'd expect from the worst of British pub food. Coleslaw straight out of a Morrison's tub, salad from a supermarket mixed bag, the burgers were shockingly undercooked considering they were pork, with buns of no quality. Sachets of ketchup etc had not been topped up, and the popular ones, ketchup, brown sauce etc, were absent. The very worst of British pub food served without care or any love. And yet, with a couple of beers, you face a bill near £50 Chips, needless to say, we're straight out of a freezer and warmed in an oven. We would never eat this badly at home.

Yelp
This is an old coaching inn near the Kilmartin museum . Kilmartin has so much local history and is surrounded by Neolithic stones and cairns . The nearby museum is worth looking at as is the church . The hotel has so much atmosphere and has a friendly well stocked bar including craft ales . We stayed a couple of nights using it as a base to dot around the area . Delightful staff made the visit for us and although it badly needs a refurb we were made comfortable and the breakfast was just great .
