A recently reopened museum with the displays very well presented, especially the visual plotting of sites in the landscape that shows the wealth of archaeology in the area, more than impressive ! A couple of key things let down this place - the somewhat odd sequence in which you start with post medieval history and go back in time as you progress through the museum, it just makes the story harder to get to grips with - and then there's the admission price, over £17. Judging by other reviews and what I saw at the shop before entering, this is putting off a lot of people from going in. I completely understand the need for finances, but I suspect the inflated admission fee is in effect resulting in less actual money coming in from the public overall, they are in effect shooting themselves in the foot, and not increasing awareness of Kilmartin glen as much as they could. It's a great shame. The fact that the ticket lasts a year is really irrelevant, I suspect 95% of visitors will never return within 12 months.
