My wife, one year old and I spent 3 days in Inishmore and had a wonderful experience staying in Kilmurvey House. We had a spacious family room with views across the island including Kilmurvey beach. ||The breakfast and hospitality was fantastic throughout. Selecting breakfast from a well thought out menu with various options as well your traditional full Irish was a treat each morning. ||The pick up service from the ferry was very helpful and gives you a great sense of the island as you travel the high or low road to Kilmurvey House. We also availed of this in the evenings so we could sample the food that Kilronan (main village) had to offer. ||We spent time on Kilmurvey beach and also took a trip up to Dún Aonghasa which is located right next to the Kilmurvey House. There are various places to buy coffee, pastries, local products minutes from the door. Our favourite place for lunch each day was the Aran Seafood Cafe, which is an outdoor eatery with some cover, the main selling point are its specials of locally caught fish that day. ||We look forward to returning to Kilmurvey House in the future. Go raibh míle maith agaibh.

Don’t worry that this place seems remote - it’s terrific. The hosts (Noel and Tessa) run a shuttle twice a day into the port town of Kilronan, so you can get on to pick up a tour, bikes, or your ferry. The rooms are invitingly comfortable and there are several common spaces - a tv room, game room, and a large room with tea, coffee and crackers all day. |We always stay in B&Bs, and the breakfast here is the best we’ve ever experienced. |And it’s at the foot of Dun Angus for your hiking pleasure!

Hire a bicycle straight from the ferry and peddle for around 20mins and you will find this place. |This a family run place that’s 3rd generation and as such offers a warm and friendly place to stay. |Rooms are large and comfortable, set within either the old hotel or the new extension. |Breakfast is a home cooked feast and a perfect way to start the day. |The evening meals are a thing of the past, replacing that option is a courtesy shuttle bus into town. |The big attraction here is the friendly, approachable and relaxed service. The family are a joy and much banter will be exchanged. |Highly recommended

Lovely, clean bed and breakfast with lots of common space for relaxing. We heard a lovely harp concert by Anu here. She was fantastic! The location is perfect for biking or walking to sites nearby. The staff are very warm and welcoming. Perfect place to stay on Inishmore.

The folks at Kilmurvey House will go out of their way for guests. We experienced it time and time again. They are kind hearted and helpful. | The meals have been incredible and they can accommodate gluten free requirements. | We should be so lucky to come back and stay with them again. Thank you!! Highly recommend.

We found Kilmurvey House by accident after there had been a mixup with our booking at a B&B in the village of Kilronan. It turns out to have been a happy accident, as I don't think we could have had better or more gracious hosts than Noel and Tessa with support from Noel's parents. If the weather turns foul, there is an ample library and plenty of board games to keep you happily occupied. Our family room was spotless and commodious, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast was outstanding. (Don't miss the berry yogurt compote, with homemade granola!) The location at the (literal) base of Dun Angus is beyond convenient, with a small number of shops and coffee/tea houses immediately nearby. The staff run regular shuttles into Kilronan for shopping/pub/restaurant/ferry access, which made the combination of amenities unbeatable in every aspect. Cannot recommend this facility strongly enough.

Highly recommended this place. If you stay in this place you’re allowed to go to Kilmurvey place for free. The owner was so kind and cooked me some sandwiches when I came complete wet after huge rain and high water waves on the boat. The owner’s husband brought me to the centre of island by car and pick me up back when I finished to discover some places.

Had the pleasure of staying here with my wife recently. Very comfortable, lovely menu selection and friendly family. Located foothill of fort Dún Aonghasa, 5 min walk to the beach, short bike ride to most sites, beautiful scenery. Family kindly arrange transport to village in the evenings and to the ferry. Highly recommend staying here, as are we again next year. 😀|Irrespective of weather forecast, bring some light clothes as weather is warmer then main land

Yelp
Thank goodness my brother told us about this island. It's the largest of the Aran Island (where the Aran sweater is from) and was one of the best places I visited in my two months of travelling in Europe. It's actually one of my favorite places I've ever been to in my life. Being on the island is probably the romanticized Ireland that we all imagine. So just visualize, green hilly fields, views of the ocean, thick "cable knit" sweaters, a Leprechaun House, a bit of mist, a bit of sun and nice smiley people. We booked the b & b through the tourism office in Galway. To get to the island you need to take a bus in Galway to a ferry for a short ride out to the island. When you arrive there are small caravan cars that can take you where you need to go. It cost a few euros per person to take us to the bed and breakfast (b & b). Once we got there we found out that you can pay extra for dinner, which was salmon that night. I'd suggest having dinner there since there is only a pub across the street, which might not be open. Or if the weather is good, you could walk back to town for more choices. The breakfast was typical Irish: bread, jam, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, eggs, potatoes, tea, etc. Our room in the house had a full bathroom, a queen size bed, and balcony. The furniture in the house was homey and cozy, just like being in a friend's house. The island is only 8 miles long, perfect for walking or riding bikes. Unfortunately, the day we got there it was like a hurricane. We spent the afternoon and night in the bed and breakfast watching the wind. The weather cleared up the next day and we walked to Dún Aonghasa, a prehistoric fort. Truly amazing views. We got so taken away by the island that we got back later than expected and missed the last caravan to town to catch the ferry back to Galway. Fortunately, the owners are really nice people, the husband gave us a ride to town and told us about the island and how he and his wife started the b & b. IMPORTANT: The bank on the island is only open one day a week for a limited number of hours, I think Wednesday, so get some cash before going out there. My only regret, is that we didn't spend more time here. But that means I'll just have to go back! I'll upload pictures as soon Yelp lets me.

Yelp
A truly fantastic place to stay if you are visiting the island. We couldn't have relieved a warmer welcome and better service. Rooms were very spacious and clean. Breakfast was the highlight! Treasa has real skill and her baking/cooking shows it. Wish we could have stayed longer. Location is also nicely away from the port and closer to the more interesting part of the island, including being right at the foot of Dun Aoinghus fort.

Yelp
What a great inn and a wonderful island. The rooms were comfortable and the inn owners were friendly and helpful. We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed longer.
