Fantastic spot on the island that provided us with all we needed to enjoy our stay. We booked the private twin room with our dog and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough, especially if you’re traveling with a dog because it’s hard to find places and they were so welcoming towards us all. The room was made up of 2 sets of bunks so we both took the bottom beds and it was super clean, spacious and had its own en-suite with additional shared facilities such as fully equipped kitchen and sitting area. They provided us with a dog bed also which was a fantastic touch and showed such great hospitality toward us all. Bedding was provided and you could get a towel (good quality, been to some hostel where the towels are like paper🤣) for €1 if needed so you can pack light. Continental breakfast was very handy for an early start so we got to explore the island before the new day of island visitors arrived. To top it off the pub downstairs did a great pint of Guiness to keep the partner happy. It’s located pretty central to the main village so you are not far from the shops, pubs and food places at all. Highly recommend for any travellers hoping to explore the island.

Supremely disappointed in staff not stepping in and shutting down a rowdy crowd partying till late in the night. This group was playing loud music, drinking and shouting right outside our window. 3 different folks approached them asking them to turn it down so we could sleep. Unfortunately if you're just another guest you don't really have any power to shut down this kind of misconduct. Hostel staff should have helped. Because of this, our group as well as another family with young children couldn't sleep. We were also woken up throughout the night because this same group got hungry at 4am and got into the kitchen to presumably throw chairs around and slam doors. I know there aren't many options on the island to stay, but this hostel does not prioritize your sleep. If you're keen to stay up all night blasting music and shouting this is the place for you.

I stayed here with my son & family friends and we had a very lovely time. The crew working there are helpful and cheery, and the facilities are great. We were offered the hostel kayak for free. The accompanying pub is the spot to be! The location is perfect, right by the shops and along the sea front. Do not hesitate on booking this hostel, it has everything you will need for a perfect stay on the beautiful island of Inis Mór.

It's a nice place. The location is perfect. The rooms are not big but they are enough as you are not supposed to spend your time in the room 😉. The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need. The landlord is pleasant and hospitable. Thank you so much for such awesome days spent on this island.

I stayed here for a class trip and had an excellent time, the hostel was nice and clean, as well as nearby everything I needed during the stay. I ended up losing my headphones in the hostel, and when I reached out, Dave responded saying they found them and shipped them to me free of charge. Definitely would recommend and would be happy to stay here again if I ever return to the island!

Great stay at Kilronan Hostel! Clean, simple rooms in a stellar location. Dave was extremely hospitable and treated us as friends. The kitchen and TV room were spacious and provided us with warm drinks and breakfast, and we were pleased to meet other guests. Would recommend!

Our stay here was perfect. We got a beautiful view on the harbour, the rooms were very clean and the lady at the reception was super sweet. I also loved that we could leave our baggage at the reception after the check out so we could bike the whole day around the island without all our stuff before we got to the ferry and also use the toilet. The hostel was also very quiet which, after an exhausting journey from the mainland, was very appreciated.

Yelp
I've stayed here twice - once in 2005 and again in 2007. At the time, a guy named Dave was the owner. He probably still is. He's a great guy, and runs a damned fine hostel. If you need laundry done and you ask nicely, he might help you out :) The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of room to sit and eat. There is a smaller "family" room with a TV and a good selection of DVDs. There is a computer with internet access. This is a great place to meet people, as it's off the beaten path and you don't get your typical tourist staying here. The beds are as comfy as a hostel bed is going to be. You get a bathroom in your room. And of course, the island itself is beautiful and filled with history. Everything is clean and safe and great for meeting people - everything a hostel needs to be!

Yelp
My best friend and I stayed here a few years ago while traveling the west coast of Ireland. Kilronan Hostel is still fresh in my mind as a place with fabulous hospitality, a great owner and a wonderful sense of community. I reserved a few months ahead on line and had no problem with the reservation upon arrival. This hostel could not be more perfectly located as you can see it directly from where the ferry drops you off. Dave, the owner, is a super guy who went above and beyond with hospitality. Our room was a shared four bunk with two other girls. One who was American and very nice. The other girl informed us that she was going to her friend's wedding that evening at an Inn on the Island. The room was clean with a shared washroom and I had the bottom bunk by the window. When I woke up each morning, the first thing I saw was the beautiful Irish Harbour. This hostel was like a big warm family. The kitchen was a huge communal space with music playing and everyone was friendly, chatting and getting to know one another. Lots of room to keep your food and also a rec room with free wifi and a computer, lots of movies and couches to chill out. That night after dinner we were invited by Dave, who was also the best man at the wedding, to come and celebrate with the bride and groom! After a few drinks at the hostel we wandered down in bunches to the inn. It was a massive party and I must admit that I thought the bride and groom would be like: Who ARE these people at our wedding? But they were so wonderful and we met so many wonderful people. I mean, drinks weren't free, so it was more business for the inn, but still.... the hospitality was incredible!! Dave was also wonderful about telling us where to rent bikes to explore the Island and helped us plan our day trip. That night, there was a BBQ at the hostel in honour of the bride and groom. The beer, wine and food was all free! And all the same people from the night before were there. After drinks and revelry we all stumbled down the road to a pub for some live music and lots of Guinness! Overall this was one of the best places we stayed on our trip. I don't think we would have loved Inish Mor so much if it weren't for the lovely people and wonderful accommodations at Kilronan Hostel. Actually, calling this place just an "accommodation" doesn't do it justice because it was so much more. Thanks for a fabulous stay!

Yelp
Laid back hostel on a laid back island, I stayed in June 2012 for one night. Easy to walk to from the boat and right in the middle of the small town. Immediately I noticed they condom dispensers with a wooden bar to press to dispense....really, in shared rooms? But I digress. Quiet and clean, shared a room with some other quiet and clean folk. Took me a few minutes to figure out that the person checking in/out resides in the room next to the front door and I annoyingly rang the bell, innocent accident. There is a nice kitchen and TV/reading/luggage room next door if you are there early or leaving luggage, the usual help-yourselfishness of the hostel experience. Cheap!

Yelp
There were people partying outside playing music and singing until past 2pm. We had to close the window which caused the room to get hot and we could still hear the music and singing. It made it very difficult to sleep. Our bathroom was not clean. I would never stay here again.
