On the Grid : Kilwin's

"The place to come when your sweet tooth needs some TLC. Walk by Kilwin’s and just try not to get a cavity. If your sweet tooth is in need of some loving, check out this quaint shop, a shrine to all things chocolate covered and delicious here in Atlanta. The store pulls out all the stops on holidays like Halloween and Christmas, with a booming sound system, strobe lighting, and seasonal confections. If you’ve got little ones, they’ll love watching candy being made on-site, as candy apples, pralines, and other bonbons are made on display by the Kilwin’s team. Befriend John, the jovial manager with the huge smile, and you might even get a handful of samples to enjoy." - Nine Labs

Every time I visit Kilwins, I already know what I’m getting—no questions asked. It’s always New Orleans Praline and Cappuccino Chocolate Chip in a fresh waffle cone. The combo? Chef’s kiss. Creamy, flavorful, and just the right balance of sweet and bold. The praline has that southern charm with a nutty twist, and the cappuccino chocolate chip gives it that rich, coffee-kissed finish. Together? A dream team. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. And yes, there’s usually a line… but let’s be real—it’s so worth the wait. Kilwins just knows how to make you feel like a kid again. From the smell of warm fudge to the sound of waffle cones being made fresh, it’s a full sensory treat. Rating: 5/5 – It’s a must every time. If you haven’t tried it, go treat yourself.

Their coolers were the bomb.com. I’m not sure of the older lady’s name that worked there when we went, but as a first time guest she was super duper helpful. She was very thorough in explaining how to order, what she recommends, and what’s popular which all helped us in deciding what to get. Her customer service was impeccable!!

Google
This was my first time having Kilwins and the icecream was amazing! Braylon provided me with the best customer service EVER!! I'm very indecisive and he was so patient with me and my kids!!

Dear Ms. Wanda, I had the pleasure of visiting your Kilwins Ice Cream shop yesterday and wanted to personally thank you for your incredible hospitality. Your entire staff served with such grace—it was truly a joy to be there. I feel elated to have met such a wonderful human being. To anyone considering a visit: go see Ms. Wanda and her amazing team—you will not be disappointed! The caramel peanut apple was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Sending blessings your way.

Great ice cream and lots of other chocolates which all look so amazing! We were a team of 10 and everyone loved what they ordered. Unique flavours and so much more.

Google
The only place I can find a caramel apple overall pretty good usually I get the apple whole this time I agreed to have it sliced and it was literally sliced in half for the price I was expecting it to be in slices I was actually annoyed because I could've ate it regular.

This place will conquer anyone’s and everyone’s sweet tooth. Not only did I find the chocolate covered twinkies but also the chocolate covered nutter butters were delicious. The service from the manager Wanda and the servers, Jaden and Jadyn was phenomenal!!!!

Yelp
Kilwins is for those with a major sweet tooth! They have everything from chocolate candy to caramel apples and fudge. I recently went there for dessert. The shop was clean and staff had great attitude despite the crowd of people inside the store looking for sugary delights. I ordered a scoop of Praline Pecan Ice Cream ($6.99), and my partner got Vanilla Milkshake ($11.99). There wasn't anything special about the Praline Pecan Ice Cream, and it tasted exactly like it should. The milkshake - which had more than 1,000 calories!! - was too sweet for my partner and me to finish. Products here are quite expensive, so it's not a place I would consistently drop by for sweets, but I do think the shop has a fun environment!

Yelp
It was a great experience in here. I was greeted upon arrival. The cashier was really nice. The service was good and we were able to sample a few fudges. My aunt got the pecan pralines and she loved it!

Yelp
As soon as you walk into Kilwins, you can smell the chocolate and caramel. The decor has an old-fashioned vibe and the shop is quite large. There are chocolates, ice cream, and fudge displayed throughout the store. We decided on the turtle sundae. The employee seemed confused about how to make the ice cream, reading the list of ingredients and taking his time to make it. I can only assume that he was a new employee. The ice cream tasted fine. It was creamy and not icy. For 1 scoop with toppings that felt skimped on... it is not worth the near $10 price point in my opinion. I would not return because of the price.

Yelp
For the love of Kilwins. I remember before I would walk around smelling the fudge and the sweets being made. This time around I didn't smell it. Candy apples were on display along with other chocolates and sweet treat. There wasn't anything seasonal or drawing you in. It was a Sunday afternoon and there was many people inside getting ice cream. There's no sign of scoops or menu it's on a sheet of paper on the glass in small print. There was one employee who walked out from the bathroom area which looked like she was scratching her private area underneath her apron or adjusting her frontal area didn't wash her hand. Only the men's bathroom was operating that day. A sweet lady took my order but my ice cream was already melting on retrieval so it was a mess. I was sad about it. But who knows when it will be the next time I'd come back.

Yelp
Peanut caramel apple... BOMB every single time. I've been coming here for years, especially when my parents would come to visit me in the ATL. My dad and I used to share one of these apples every time. Since he passed away, every time I come to Atlantic Station...I stop by this place to get one because it reminds me of my him. This past weekend I had a wonderful conversation with a guy named Chris who works there about my memories and love for these apples from this place. Super great guy! Go check this place out.

Yelp
Stopped here for some to go dessert after attending Cirque Du Soleil, and dinner. The service was great and I ordered 2 pralines (they were so good) and my niece ordered her Mom a caramel candy apple (it smells so sweet in there). The ambiance is amazing because you see them preparing the pralines. I will be back!! Atlantic Station pays for 2 free hours of parking, after that you are on your own, not too bad.

Yelp
i've been here quite a few times. It's bigger than the buckhead location which recently opened. You do have to kind of park in the Atlantic station area and walk here so you may have to pay for parking. They've got a variety of ice cream, candy, caramel, apples, and everything sweet you can think of. I really love the coconut, chocolate chip and the regular chocolate. It's delicious. I love their cones. I haven't ever been to a Location and not like their ice cream. It is very filling and high in sugar, obviously it's ice cream but overall it's a nice treat once in a while especially in the summer. I would recommend going here if not for the ice cream for the fudge or the chocolate nurs something like that.

Yelp
This place is spacious. As soon as you walk in, it smells like sweet heaven. The service was friendly and quick. They have so many dessert options including ice cream flavors. They will you samples of any fudge or ice creams you're interested in. I asked for five different samples and each sample was given with a kind smile. I got one scoop of strawberry ice cream but it was almost two by how packed the cone was. I'm not complaining, just really grateful. The ice cream was soooooo delicious!

Yelp
What a great find ! The sweet tooth in me was estatic for going inside by chance. I loved my turtle fudge and very affordable. A half pound for 5 dollars and it was delicious. The ice cream was about 8 bucks for a single scope and the milkshake for 11 dollars for small vanilla. The cashier was welcoming and scooper gave a big scoop for ice cream. The ambiance was full of sweet smells and caramel from the green caramel apples. One thing for sure is the limited amount of sitting. There one table inside and 4 outside, that's all.

Yelp
Me and my date spent Easter out and about in the city and we found ourselves at Atlantic Station both with a sweet tooth. Given it was a holiday, everything wasn't open but in the cut, we found Kilwins open. Neither of us had been before so it was the perfect opportunity. Kilwins ice cream and dessert bar is a wonderful spot to satisfy your sweet tooth. I had the pleasure of trying their double scooped ice cream waffle cone, with one scoop of butter pecan and one scoop of cake batter ($9.85). First of all, I have to say that the size of the scoops is impressive. They are huge and definitely worth the price. The waffle cone itself is also top-notch - crispy, flavorful, and not too sweet. While both flavors were delicious, I have to admit that the butter pecan scoop was the standout for me. It had a creamy, nutty flavor that was perfectly balanced and not too overpowering. The cake batter scoop, on the other hand, was a bit too sweet for my taste and lacked the depth of flavor that the butter pecan had. Overall, Kilwins ice cream and dessert bar is a great place to indulge in some tasty treats. I highly recommend trying their double scooped ice cream waffle cone, with them offering tons of different flavors.

Yelp
I'm going to blame the service from this spot on the pandemic. Parking I suggest front row parking in the garage park. $8 for 6 hours. Get your ticket and pay at the cashier before going to Atlantic station. Ice cream is the one food I think all cultures regardless of age, love. Entrance Branding is everywhere. There is an area where you can see the treats being made. Yum. There are arrows on the flow to control traffic and keep everyone safe. Nice touch. Ice cream This is where the confusion starts. There are several printed menus. Not sure the rationale behind this. However, take your reading glasses out. After, selecting tell the staffer and they start to make your order. The young man that took the orders didn't explain wait time or anything. We didn't even know he was the person taking all the orders for our group. It was chaotic. Then another lady came over and assisted. That's when things started making sense. Please note a flavored mocha comes hot or cold. Let them know - yeah there's no distinction. Then checkout, then stand back and wait in the crowd for someone to pass you your order. Too much confusion for me. Not my kind of flow. Especially not for a satisfying treat as ice cream. There is no inside seating, but there is seating right outside. So if you have patience and can deal with some chaos to get a treat check it out.

Yelp
They have cake cones and I should have only gotten one scoop of butter pecan, but I couldn't control myself so ordered a second scoop of cappuccino with chocolate chips. I don't eat the chocolate chips but I always love coffee flavored ice cream. This is a nice treat!

Yelp
Had the best experience here. Came because i wanted (read: needed) sugar. Saw the sign for ice cream and I was ALL for it...until I saw the fudge. They let me try a bunch of samples of the ice cream and even the fudge. Our cashier was so so friendly and asked about our day, our jobs, and we even had a little career powwow right there in the shop. After that he even gifted us with a few free chocolate covered strawberries since it was the end of the day.

Yelp
I love Kilwin's! The scent of chocolate as soon as you walk through the doors is an experience in itself. There are rows of ice creams, truffles, caramel apples with toppings, and fun chocolate dipped treats. I wanted a little snack while shopping so I went with the milk chocolate dipped pretzel rod. It was scrumptious! The chocolate is high quality and the pretzel was very crisp. Perfect combination.

Yelp
As often as I've been to Atlantic Station, I've never visited Kilwin's. The shop is nicely decorated and very large, which was nice considering how long the line was. Kilwin's offers many flavors and dessert options. If you have dietary restrictions, the menu has little to no options. Although the staff was friendly, they rushed me to make a decision as soon as I saw the menu. To make this experience more frustrating, the two staff persons could not answer my questions about the menu options. The staff person who took over my order was nicer than the first person but got very frustrated when I asked to sample flavors. I got the blueberry crunch in a waffle bowl. It was decent. Unfortunately, the person waiting on me did not think to check me out. I could've walked out with free ice cream. I thought about it. Eventually, another staff person noticed me and checked me out. Overall, I don't intend to visit Kilwin's again.

Yelp
The service was awesome when I was there. I wish I asked the name of the woman who served me, but she was so helpful. And the buckeye was delicious! I can't wait to return to this location!

Yelp
Very friendly service! I love their caramel apples w nuts and their ice cream. A bit pricey but worth every penny. I highly recommend.

Yelp
After years of not going to this specific Kilwins, I finally decided to go last night since I was craving chocolate covered strawberries and my favorite ones would always come from here. The workers were rude and they looked young.. these were the strawberries I got last night. I paid about $16 for FIVE strawberries. The strawberries were old and expired and soggy, the chocolate tasted expired as if they were left out overnight for 2 days and forgot to be put in the fridge. I have made chocolate covered strawberries before and you can tell that all of this was old, you have to make these at-least that morning of. Very disappointed, never going back again and definitely not recommending this location to anyone. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Yelp
Came here with my fam, specifically for Kilwin's at 9:35 they were closed when the door says 10pm on a sat.

Yelp
I'm turned off by bad costumer service. The second my friend and I walked in the door we were greeted by the staff arguing on the phone with her Mother about some personal issue, never once stopped to say hello, welcome in, just kept up the conversation. My friend and I patiently waited for her to get off the phone, just for her to STILL not say hello, instead waited there for us to tell her our order. We originally came there for some ice cream and a few different apples ( guessing. $50+ order), instead we just looked at her and walked out. It was uncomfortable, rude and lacked costumer service/engagement. Such a lost for the business, we most likely won't return

Yelp
Just went to Kilwins recently and the staff had an amazing and humble attitude, and had really great customer service. They were offering some crushed red candy to experiment with their new red candy apples. I haven't had a good red candy app in two years. They asked me to review how it was honestly, it was the best candy apple I've ever had. The only downside was it was impossible to bite into. I had to cut it open with a knife, but it was still delicious, if i would give any pointers, make the candy on the apple slightly thinner so it's easier to bite into. all in all, best candy apple I've had in a long time and I will be going back again to get another one.

Yelp
10 dollars for a caramel apple??? That's really expensive for what it was! I got the white chocolate Oreo one and it was good but nothing special. And to top it off, the young girl there apparently didn't care to speak to anyone. I don't think she said a word the whole transaction. At least a "you're welcome" when I said thank you would have been nice. Parking is free for 2 hours in the structure.
google avatar

Art C.

Yelp
Their service was on the wrong side of horrible, but otherwise they give good scoop. It was rainy, busy, and not ideal, but we still managed to enjoy our varieties here. Maybe not worth the parking frustration- but like I said, the ice cream was good.
google avatar

Joyrina H.

Yelp
Very pricey for a milkshake but good and rich in flavor. The lines are long and they are short staffed so patience is needed when there. A very popular location for a sweet tooth while in Atlanta Station.
google avatar

Charles C.

Yelp
The ice cream and treats are fine. Good, but certainly nothing special. But their customer service is pretty bad. Of course, I understand that during COViD and in the winter, an ice cream shop isn't doing a lot of business. So the staff might be forgiven for burying their noses in their phones when the shop is empty. But they don't even lift their heads when someone enters. The kid who rung me up had to be prompted to help me, and he just stared at his phone through our entire interaction. I wasn't impressed.
google avatar

Shanika G T.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go. When you walk in you are instantly greeted by the smell of sweet goodness and happiness. I have been to this establishment several times and I'm never disappointed. I just recently went for a birthday treat and the young gentleman working that day was so patient with my large party. He gave us suggestions, never rushed us when we wanted to try different flavors. He was so kind. It definitely made our day. We love this place and will return again and again. The freshly made waffle cones and mint Chocolate chip ice cream are two of my favorites. The rootbeer float is my husbands favorite. If you havent tried this place, you are definitely missing out.
google avatar

Nadia K.

Yelp
The ice creams and chocolates tasted amazing. My first time being here trying kilwins but the employees were super rude. She was so impatience's and so upset. It's upsetting when you enter a sweets store dreaming about all the good stuff but coming out of the store feeling bitter because of how you get treated. Felt so rushed and the employees just try to get rids of us. Not a good listener, the way she talks back as if she's doesn't want to be Serving us. I would have come back since we are staying close by while in Atlanta however with a shitty customer services and didn't feel welcomed at all it's such a upsetting experiences. Also employees wearing mask but still their nose are uncovered.

Yelp
I imagine this place smells what I would imagine heaven should smell like. A warm, cinnamon, spice, sugar, cream and cocoa like a warm grandmother hug. That alone earns this place an automatic three stars. The remaining stars, and then some, are for the sweet treats of all types to be found at Kilwins! Caramel apples, chocolates, truffles, rods, popcorn, turtles, brittle and more-- not to mention their rich, ice cream!! If you are in the area, you should stop by. Actually, if you are within 20 miles of this place, you should make it your duty to pass by and earn a few delicious treats. They have samples for the taking and a hospitality that is so welcoming that to call it service would be insulting. So sample away, from the ice cream to all of the other tantalizing sweets. If I lacked willpower, I'd have a stash somewhere for safe keeping. However, I figured out how to get this stuff delivered so no worries on my part. I wholeheartedly recommend. Sharing is caring!
google avatar

Yelp
You must come here when you visit Atlantic Station. As soon as you step foot in the store, a waft of aromatic chocolate deliciousness meets your nose. A warm day? ICE CREAM A cold day? HOT CHOCOLATE Most authentic hot chocolate I've ever tasted - it is definitely worth it. If you need to buy gifts for a friend or a loved one, theres so many chocolates to choose from. Especially during the holiday season it's decorated nicely inside. Also, sometimes as a plus, they have samples of some candy on the counter!
google avatar

Suhana E.

Yelp
This place is located at the Atlantic Station. It was super busy on a Saturday evening! They should increase staffing on the weekends in my opinion. The line was long and moving slow. Other than that the ice cream was very good quality. So were their sour gummies - very good.
google avatar

Deidre J.

Yelp
Simply amazing! I'm never disappointed when I come here. Every now and again, it's nice to treat yourself.... My apple was great. And so many sweat treats to choose from. The staff was really friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Portia DeBossi D.

Yelp
The young ladies working on 10/12 were rude, however, the young man was super nice and respectful. Additionally, not sure who's making the apples, though the pecan apple tasted delicious in mid bite I discovered the sticker still on the apple, which gave it an after taste. Hopefully the apple was actually cleaned.

Yelp
By far one of the sweetest spots around. When The cookie Spot was closed for the evening and I has a sugar craving this was the best choice! Walking into this store is like walking into a giant candy store. I promise you the sugar hits your senses instantly! From fudge to chocolate covered everything you cannot go wrong here! Prices are reasonable as well. The only problem I had was which sugar to pick. Ice cream won that night. I picked pistachio and salted caramel. Both were delicious! The pistachio reminded me of Ny gelato that I enjoyed as a child. The salted caramel was incredible. It had small caramel bites mixed in the ice cream. Overall, this was a great experience and I will return to try other items.
google avatar

Felicia W.

Yelp
I love this place however, the customer service today was totally unacceptable. A simple request for a chocolate waffle cone (single scoop) and waffle bowl chocolate (single scoop) turned into a unsatisfactory experience. The young lady who was the manager on duty - 04/27 @ approximately 6 p.m. was terrible.

D S.

Yelp
Went all excited to have ice cream and saw my scooper put his hand, face, and body in the freezer to scoop out. No ice cream tonight.
google avatar

Sam T.

Yelp
This is a cool chocolate, fudge, and ice cream shop located in Atlantic Station. I came here with my wife as she wanted something sweet after dinner. I did not see many diary free options aside from a dark chocolate Oreo that I thought was diary free. Overall, this is a nice shop to come in to get that sweet tooth fix
google avatar

Natasha L.

Yelp
Kilwin is basically a touristy spot in Atlantic Station. Be aware that the line is out of the door BUT the service is fast. When you enter, you'll notice the chocolate covered apples, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered marshmallows, etc. Fresh waffle cones and bowls are being made, which smells divine. They have a nice variety of different items dipped in chocolate but their main attraction is their ice cream. Their ice cream is basic. Nothing fancy about it. You're best way is to grab a tub from HEB, Kroger, Walmart, etc go home, turn on some Netflix and just relax with your store bought ice cream. It's honestly a one time touristy thing in my opinion.
google avatar

Shantel M.

Yelp
I enjoyed their food . Service is kind of slows they are not really happy to be there but the desserts make up for it . I didn't have a coke float in years and this brought back so many good memories. My kids loves it . Will definitely be taking my family back for the treats.

Kim Ngan B.

Yelp
A must try hot chocolate here yall!!! Must Try! They use their own chocolate to make hot choco drink. So very yummyyyy. Love coming here. Friendly Staffs!

Audrey H.

Yelp
the ice cream was so good and the chocolates look so yummy(I didn't get them tho) Carmel apple 10/10. the workers were nice and it was a really cute place. smells like ice cream and you can watch people making things.
google avatar

Yelp
Kilwin's is the benchmark for ice cream - any worse is not acceptable, but it's definitely not the best ice cream I've ever had. The aroma of freshly made waffle cones and fudge draws you in from the sidewalks of Atlantic Station. I came here on a date years ago and didn't remember it being so... Clubby. The music is blasting and I felt like I was at Tongue and Groove. Ordering my ice cream was like ordering a drink at a nightclub. The cappuccino chocolate chip is my favorite, but my second time eating it made me realize how mediocre it was. It was tasty but it wasn't the best coffee ice cream I've ever had. It was pretty subtle. If I'm ever in Atlantic Station killing some time, maybe I'll come back, but there are definitely better ice cream options in Midtown than Kilwin's.
google avatar

Yelp
The smell alone is worth walking in for. This place is a sweets lover's heaven, with candy apples, fudge, ice cream, candies, pretzels, popcorn, peanut butter cups... it's a chocolate lover's dream! Conveniently located next to a variety of restaurants at Atlantic Station, it's the perfect place to go after enjoying dinner nearby. Parking: same as any parking for Atlantic Station. Staff: very friendly and attentive, effortlessly managing the crowds as they swarmed around the counters, examining various sweets and ice cream flavors. Ambiance: heavenly smells lure you into the store and once you're inside, you can't walk out empty handed. This would be the best dessert spot after a date at one of the restaurants located nearby. I would swoon. Prices: a little high but my goodness, is it worth it. You get what you pay for and in this case, you get delicious, quality confectionary delights. I personally had the cappuccino chocolate chip ice cream in a bowl. If you love coffee chocolate chip ice cream, this will not disappoint. It was amazingly creamy and delicious, perfect for a hot summer day in Atlanta. My fiancée and friend split the caramel chocolate fudge and both concurred it was amazing. We can't wait to come back and try more of the delicious sweets!
google avatar

Willie R.

Yelp
I have always loved Kilwin's since I first came here in my early college days. Walking in is like ambling into a field of baked, whipped, and frozen deliciousness. I'm a big fan of the Superman ice cream, a multicolored mix that's great if your sweet tooth is woolly mammoth sized, like mine. But basically any ice cream is delicious, and they have some new seasonal rotations. If you've lived in Atlanta for at least a year and haven't been to Kilwin's, get on it!
google avatar

Tami R.

Yelp
Visited the establishment and was greeted upon entry. Even though they were nice enough, they still had a spirit of I don't want to be here or be bothered. Maybe because it was MLK birthday and other businesses were closed... in any event I ordered chocolate covered strawberries. The salesperson dumped the white chocolate in with the chocolate and handed me the bag. I was disappointed because presentation is EVERYTHING. I was giving these as a gift to someone and really thought they'd be put in a nice little box, but nope. Probably won't frequent this establishment or recommend simply based on this experience, which is unfortunate because their chocolate is pretty tasty

Andrea K.

Yelp
Just had the worst customer service experience at Your Atlantic Station store . This is sad because I was a regular customer. Not only was I made to feel like a burden when I purchased your ice cream but was rushed out of the store at 9:45 pm even though you sign clearly says that you close at 10:00. To top it off your very rude employee came out two motives later, stocked up the chairs and ushered about eight other patrons , myself and my husband echoing " We are closed Ma'am!" . Never again will I spend my hardworking money in your store!
google avatar

Deb P.

Yelp
Been here before. Ice cream flavours were a plenty - lots of American favourites like cookie-dough chocolate chip ... I like the more traditional stuff, but their cherry ice cream looked good. They have a range of dairy free sorbets. No gelato! Boo ... Their chocolates (hand made) personally speaking is the main draw here. They make a a good orangeaid but could cut back a bit on the sugar ... 3.5 stars in all.

Yelp
Some of the prettiest candy apples you will ever find are right here baby!! My oh my....the smell of chocolate, ice cream, and homemade waffle cones! The store was busy on a Friday night about 15 minutes before closing. And rightfully so...Atlantic Station was a ghost town with this being one of the only spots still open till midnight. The staff was friendly and helpful. The employees stayed busy cleaning before closing, but were still very attentive. They offer many things to satisfy your sweet tooth. My only gripe was that they didn't offer red candy apples, only the caramel and chocolate assortments. However, the store manager (forgot his name...oops) was so nice he offered me a complimentary pecan, caramel apple to try in place of the traditional apple they no longer carry. It was delish...crisp and tart but sweet from the caramel. A perfect Granny Smith!

Km A.

Yelp
Best Ice cream in the city. But the manager was rude to my mother when I came in for my birthday. She asked for a napkin before the woman's hand touched the cone. The manager refused saying that the cone was covered. My mom is the customer! If the management is going to refuse customer service, I'm never coming back.

Yelp
This location does not live up to the brand. Very poor service (couldn't answer basic product questions, did not come from behind counter to help find requested product), stale pretzel.

Yelp
Their fudge is the best! Try the Maple Fudge...it is honestly like the best maple syrup you have ever tasted in fudge form. Heaven!! And they are also just super helpful here.
