Google
Absolutely amazing! Beautiful location. Inside and great outdoor seating. Takes credit cards. Plenty of parking space even for large campers. We shared the fisherman’s platter and had left overs. It had 2 large pieces of fish, a ton of scallops, shrimp, and clams, fries and coleslaw. Batter is light and fresh so who ever said they refry in the oil is foolish. We then had ice cream. A mini is still a ton of ice cream. Overall, we had an amazing experience and would travel back again as it was 90 minutes away but worth it.

Google
love the portions for the price and the ice cream is delish!!! so many flavors to choose from. they have actual food too but we specifically came for the ice cream. overall nice to stop by after a long hike.

Google
Great family place with great friend seafood and so many ice cream selections. The ice cream tastes fresh and the food tastes great, and they give you a lot. Once you get your food after you order it from the outside you can help yourself with the ketchup, lemon, tarter and cocktail sauce and refill your own drinks. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well as plenty of parking. They have a cute little gift store with a friendly staff. This appears to be a a very busy local place.

Google
Always delicious food and ice cream at a very reasonable price! I honestly have not had seafood as fresh and delicious so far from the ocean. And honestly the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and amount you get. I highly recommend getting a mini ice cream size as that's the size of a large at most other places. Insane! Plus all the staff have been attentive, courteous, and patient with us and dealing with the long lines. Plenty of places to sit and eat or relax, some lawn games were out when we were here last. Cute country store to peruse while you wait on your food! Highly recommend this place for lunch, dinner, treats and more!

Google
Stopped by Kimball Farm for ice cream and it totally hit the spot. We had the Coffee Oreo and Coconut Almond Chip — both were rich, flavorful, and perfectly creamy. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was classic New England summer. Always worth the stop when we are here for the summer!

Hike Monadnock ✔️ Eat at Kimball Farm ✔️ The perfect post hike stop. Don’t miss it.

Google
Food and ice cream were out of this world as usual! Had family up from the South, and they grew up on Kimbals, they'll tell you nothing compares! Amazing food, little pricy, but the portion sizes are massive (just like their ice cream). Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Google
Seafood is always delicious and good serving sizes. Repeatedly disappointed by the ice cream, not as much flavor or texture compared to Cherry hill. Fraps have not been cold and have been very watery the second we get them. Will be going back just for the clam strips and cod though! Tasty!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem when they're open for the season. Not only do they have great fried fish platters, but they have tons of great ice cream flavors available for desert. It can be quiet or loud inside, depending on how many people are there. Sometimes they're so busy that you'll want to sit outside and enjoy your food.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible food . Whole belly Fried clams burnt onion rings are cooked in the same fryalator. That means they taste like fish. Better seafood in Mass . Nothing in this area any good. They don't care either. Go to Station 19 for your ice cream. Stay far away from rip off people at Kimball. I've lived here 12 years ate there once. Never again

Yelp
Everyone knows Kimball's has the best ice cream around! Besides that, their seafood options are delicious. This location has the ice cream stand, grill and seafood options and country store. The portions for ice cream and seafood are huge! The lobster roll is great. There are two sizes, regular and junior. The regular is 8oz, junior 5oz. The bun is toasted and buttery and the meat has a light mayo. I got the regular size and it was so big I couldn't even see the bun! It is pricey for the regular at $34.99 but we split it between two people and that was perfect. It comes with 2 sides.

Yelp
I live nearby and I've tried going here 3 times this season. They're understaffed like everyone else. Today (a Saturday) they only had one window open and it just didn't move. We waited about 20 minutes and the line didn't budge, so we left & saved ourselves the calories. I read some of the other reviews after posting this and I want to add that I agree with the other reviewers who said that the portions are way too big (overflowing the cone so they have to give you a cup on the side) & that over $8.00 for a cone is too much money. My family doesn't want to overspend or overeat.

Yelp
Kimball Farms in Jaffrey was a nice outing for my husband, toddler, and I. The food was decent, and the ice cream sizes were surprisingly generous - even the small felt like a pint of Ben and Jerry's! (Seriously!) We enjoyed our time will hopefully be back!
google avatar

Maggi N.

Yelp
I had to go for their lobster rolls!! They offer two size lobster rolls. The regular and the junior. I got the regular lobster roll. I was complete surprised at how good the roll was. The lobster meat was fresh, they gave you a good amount of lobster and there was not much mayo on it. The bun was toasted perfectly for that nice crunch! I love how it came with fries and the watermelon! My cousins got the fried seafood platter and that was delicious too. The seafood was fried but you could still taste the delicious fish. To end the day we had homemade pumpkin ice cream, which was a die for! If you don't like seafood but are in the area of a Kimball Farm I recommend stopping for food, ice cream or just relaxing!

Sha D.

Yelp
If you are looking for really good fried seafood, Kimball's is the place to go! Pricy but worth it. The fried haddock and scallops are the best that I've ever had; always fresh, cooked perfectly, breading has a nice flavor and crunch, and never overly greasy. All of the extras (fries, onion rings, tarter sauce, and cole slaw) are all phenomenal too. Their coleslaw is unique with a little kick to it. I love Kimball's seafood, I hope they never change!

Yelp
Stopped for lunch on July 4th! Great value for the portion you get. Double cheeseburger and waffle fries hit the spot! And of course the ice cream

Andrew C.

Yelp
Thank you to Kimball's for supporting the search teams today with lunch. Greatly appreciated!

Kellie B.

Yelp
We have been going to Kimball's for over 15 years! Food is good, ice cream is great, service is shorthanded, but staff is always pleasant. This is no longer our go to place as the pricing has gotten out of hand. The seafood platter is $46 and this is walk-up service, help yourself establishment. For just hubby and me, our bill runs close to $100. I'd rather go to a nice restaurant and be waited on for this expense and can get the same quality of food!

Stephen R.

Yelp
We have been visiting Kimball Farm for years. They have an extensive menu however their prices are becoming sky high and not conducive to bringing a family for lunch. It's worth a visit (one) but you may want to look elsewhere.

Sandy B.

Yelp
Go to the Lancaster location a lot. Jaffrey location seafood is not fresh. Very disappointing. Not sure what's going on? Won't be back for seafood.

Wallace K.

Yelp
Had a great scallop roll yesterday. Perfectly fried scallops on a buttered roll with creamy potato salad and a slice of watermelon! Yum! Reasonable wait times and lots of picnic tables outside. Conveniently located condiments and trash cans. Indoor seating if you prefer. The only downside is the increased cost every year. Still worth the time and trouble for me (hour and a half drive) but the cost may be a factor soon.

Yelp
Very good food even though it's pricey. The ice cream is also great but be careful when you order sizes a small is a medium or large elsewhere.

Abuelo L.

Yelp
20 minutes to get served a clam chowder at 8pm at night with no crowd due to the gross incompetence of the order taker. The ice cream was great
google avatar

Yelp
Really Good Ice Cream! Be Forewarned: MASSIVE SERVINGS Ordered Mint Chocolate Chip and Raspberry Chip Ice Cream in a Kimball's Farm Cup. To me: that means a small scoop of each side by side in a cup. To the staff: they incorporate a "scoop" to be a full cup so when I received my ice cream it was doubled up with a full scoop above the rim. I stood their gawking wondering how my order was misinterpreted. I then explained and asked to half my request - they were very understanding and quickly made adjustments. So grateful.
google avatar

Logan D.

Yelp
Pros: -Lots of outdoor seating -Good mix-in density Pro/Cons: -Sizes are HUGE. There were no sizes displayed at the window we were at so several of us got smalls and it was clearly too much--almost a pint probably! I advise getting a Mini which is about one 1/2-3/4 cup serving (probably a bit more). -- Overall, good quality ice cream (super thick) with lots of mix-ins, but I wasn't blown away by any flavor we got (Kahlua crunch, heath bar crunch, chocolate raspberry, cookie dough, mint n' cookie--a little too minty).
google avatar

Don P.

Yelp
I have to say Kimbal Farms offers some of the very best ice cream you will find anywhere. Their selection is complete leaving nothing behind other than satisfaction guaranteed. However be forewarned, a small cone at Kimbals is a large virtually anywhere else on the planet. Mind you, I'm not complaining as I destroyed my coffee icecream cone in record time which surprised me but I doubt it will give you any problem either. Kimbals is a destination from just about anywhere; at first bite you'll be a regular from that moment on.

Martha S.

Yelp
First time going there, ordered the seafood platter and it was awesome. My husband and I loved it. Fries were amazing too. Of course we had to have the ice cream for dessert. It was probably the best Butter Pecan I've ever tasted!!

Yelp
kimball's in Jaffery was always our favorite place to get seafood. They used to always have super large portions, so you didn't mind paying the price. We went there yesterday and what a disappointment. While the food is still absolutely delicious, the portions have been cut way down. One good thing i did notice was the fries were 100% better than they were. very delicious. The one thing i despise there is the smell of the dining room .They apparently use some sort of super sickening deodorizing product. It ireally is so nauseating I don't even want to step foot in there. The workers are efficient and fast. I know the price of everything everywhere has gone up so I really can't fault Kimball's totally. Haven't had any ice cream there yet this year so can't comment to whether or not there large portions in ice cream have changed.

Tammy L.

Yelp
Everyone goes for the ice cream. I go mainly for the haddock bites and to shop in the little gift store. I love finding local goodies, especially dill pickles and honey. Obviously, when I'm done I treat myself to dessert because who can so know to yummy ice cream.

Craig P.

Yelp
I have been going to Kimball Farm's for many years and this year has been very disappointing. I took my family to the Jaffrey location for lunch and Ice cream. I ordered a haddock sandwich for $15.50 and got a thin small piece of the tail of the fish that filled about 3/4 of the roll. No other garnish. We got ice cream after, which was good as usual but ordered 3 different sizes on a waffle cone mini, kiddie and medium and they all ended up the same size. This is a 2 hour round trip from my home. I probably won't make that trip again.

Savanah M.

Yelp
Super yummy food and delicious shakes. Highly recommend. Their portions are gigantic to aim small or come on an empty belly.

Peter P.

Yelp
I have been eating ice cream from Kimball's for over 60 plus years. Flew to the Keene area to visit family. A treat of the visit is the usual the visit to Kimball's. Yesterday's visit was a great disappointment. My wife and I ordered the fried clams. The clams were cold like they had been cooked for a different patty and then served to us. The French fries were also cold. The portion was not what we were used to. We took the grandkids to the ice cream window. The ice cream was fine, but the service was very slow. We were so disappointed we have always been excited to go to Kimball's over the years. It seems management needs better supervision to get the business back to wear it has been in the past. Unfortunately a reputation can be lost very easily.

Yelp
Stopped by here as a nice reward after hiking up Mt Thumb. They have two other locations in MA but this place was closer to us at the time. This place is nice and quite busy (4th of July) but they had a very efficient speaker system that called your number so you could grab a table to sit at. They have multiple tables inside and outside though weather permitting, sitting outside is the best as there us ample shading compared to the interior which isn't as well lit and can feel stuffy when crowded. I opted for the vanilla root beer float which was absolutely massive (see photo). The ice cream was delicious and was refreshing with the root beer. My friends enjoyed their ice cream as well. Note that a "kiddie" size is probably a large at many ice cream places in MA so be prepared to finish it fast!

Yelp
This place is SUCH a delight. Who knew that an ice cream / seafood shop would be good, nevermind one of the best things in New England? The ice cream options get better every year, with new flavors, packed flavors, etc. Coffee turtle? Wow. The seafood is top notch - you won't find fresher stuff in many places. The lobster rolls are something that people dream about. The scallop plates are my jam, and are always mouth-watering. Almost too much food (not a problem), perfect cole slaw, and pretty good fries. Up charge for the waffle fries and you won't regret it, they're spectacular. Prices have been going up a lot based on my memory, but honestly nothing would convince me not to go here a few times every time I'm home. Unbelievably good.

Yelp
Great ice cream! Best in the area without a doubt. Their food is really good too, the clam strip plate has been a favorite for my wife and I for years. We've only had 2 issues while attending for the last 4 years or so. The first is that the outside seating is always swarming with bees during the summer months. The second being that the inside seating isn't very clean, and sometimes kinda smells. Despite that, this is the absolute best Ice cream place in the area hands down. Will be coming back for years to come.

Yelp
WHAT IS THAT SMELL?? great food and ice cream but the dining room did stink the kids who run the place are nice

Gordon K.

Yelp
Decent cream, quite a few people there usually! The spicy fries are really good. ..........

Yelp
Two words ~ Large Yummy!!! Yelp wants more info to post so I'll say large portions that are delicious, in other words "Large Yummy" !!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great ice cream and great atmosphere. The prices reasonable cones generous. We didn't try the restaurant. But the menu looked pricey.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was recommended by some family members living in Peterborough. We were staying in a rental in Jaffrey so we did most of the cooking ourselves. This was the only time we went out to a restaurant. The food was below ordinary. My hamburger was lukewarm at best and tough. The chicken fingers had an unpleasant aftertaste. The fries were limp and greasy. The fish and chips were not hot. The clam strips were okay as were the waffle fries. Total cost for six people was $96.00. I'd never go back. I guess the locals like it.

Yelp
This review is the culmination of many years of patronage. I remember when Kimballs came to Jaffrey and became what it is today. That all being said, things have changed over the years. I have always enjoyed the quality of the ice cream and the environment of the restaurant. The food is standard to a new england seasonal place. They are known for the waffle fries and slice of watermelon. Positive: -Food is consistent with expected servings -Ice Cream is unique and there are many flavors (My favorite is the M&M) -Outdoor environment with plenty of seating and parking (Usually) -Cruise nights bring added enjoyment Negative: -Food is very expensive (20+$ for a lobster roll in New England?!?!?) -Busy during the summer -Ice cream comes in large amounts which causes a lot of waste. Overall I suggest you put some money aside and have a good trip to Kimballs. This is not a place to go every Saturday for lunch unless you have a healthy income.
google avatar

Iris A.

Yelp
The food is great, and it has a nice family atmosphere. The prices are a bit high, but you do get enough to share if you like.

Yelp
If I could give 3.5 stars I would. Food was average. We had a order of pepper rings (although fresh, once you've had them at Salisbury Beach nothing can compare. I wouldn't get them again here.), the hot dogs although 9 inches are just average tasting, the potato salad was very good, the waffle fries had clearly sat around awhile, and the unexpected huge pieces of watermelon were delicious. The employees were pleasant despite how busy they were. The frustrating thing was them running out of ketchup. Despite about 20 of us telling them over and over, it was never refilled at the condiment bar. We had ice cream after. I know everyone rants and raves about the ice cream but I'd say it was average. I had a scoop of strawberry kiwi sorbet (which had no kiwi flavor at all) and the orange pineapple ice cream (very creamy but just okay). My boyfriend had coffee heath bar crunch frozen yogurt and said it was really good. The ice cream portions were huge but I wouldn't drive out of my way to go here. We only went as we had just hiked all day and were starving.
google avatar

Samantha N.

Yelp
KIMBALLS IS SO GOOD! Their ice cream is so good on a nice spring evening!! I could seriously have it all the time! So worth it!
google avatar

Karen R.

Yelp
One of the worst experiences I've had here. Just went for icecream and waited 30 minutes in line and we were only the 4th ones in line! Service was extremely slow and it was clear these girls had no clue what they were doing. Prices go up every year and the lack of quality and service goes down every year. I can only speak for the Jaffrey NH location though. I ordered a hot fudge sundae and when she handed me the icecream it had no hot fudge. My husband caught it and said something. The girl then literally plopped a dollop of hot fudge over the whipped cream she had previously put. Worst looking sundae I've ever seen and it cost me $6.00 for 2 scoops of icecream and whatever slop they threw ontop of it. I've seen this location go downhill for the past 2 years and I'm done wasting my money on poor service and high prices.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Too expensive. I don't want you pay$30 for a family of 4 to get ice cream and the$12 dollar burger should be $5-$7. Money hungry comes to mind
google avatar

Kelley K.

Yelp
Given the size of typical crowd the employees are pretty quick to deliver. The personality of most in the New England area isn't real bubbly so expect matter of fact service but so far, the scoops are consistent and wait time isn't too extreme for the taste and price. If the price were higher I would say you can go get blue bell or another local ice cream stand and be just as happy. Alas, they are reasonable on price and quantity and the taste of product is superior to most grocery store selections.
google avatar

Marina S.

Yelp
Wonderful ice cream! Loved the Heath bar and the caramel pretzel- portions are HUGE - beware

David B.

Yelp
I was there for dinner. The prices are absolutely outrageous now. I'd rather less food for a better price. Anyways, I ordered the pick two. I got Scallops and shrimp. First scallop, I took a bite and instantly the smell and taste of amonia took over. I spit the scallop out on the tray immediately. I went to the counter and the "manager" who maybe was 20 said "they are extremely fresh, and we haven't had any other issues" As he was saying this, a woman and husband spoke up (they were standing next to me) the woman said OMG I didn't know that meant they were bad, and I ate all of them. Of all the food that could be served-spoiled seafood is beyond dangerous. There is no way the cook didn't smell this issue. They were slimy. This means the cook these smelly slimy scallops and still considered them okay. Shame on Kimballs. I am disgusted by this experience and lack of response from anyone from the company. I recommend if you go there, smell your food first. If it doesn't smell right- do not eat it and ask a manager for your money back.

Frank S.

Yelp
We came here recently for a clam plate and onion rings. We live a few towns over, and been going here for over 20 years. Last year we didn't go at all. The food is still great, with ample portions. The cole slaw was not very good on this trip. The prices are still on the high side. The waffle fries are an up charge, but highly recommended. It's worth a trip, we like it here better than the Lancaster location. You can save a lot if you bring your own drinks and eat outside, because the drinks will add on your bill big time if you have a family. It is like light years better than S&S, the Harbor, or Little Anthony's. Pricey for seafood, but definitely recommended.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
Always good food. Very busy place. Will wait a long time to get your food but well worth the wait. 38 minute drive for me But the food is incredibly good. I can't imagine anybody reading Kimball Farm less than five star

Michael T.

Yelp
It was a beautiful day for a ride and we decided to try Kimball Farm. It was our first time here, and it will be a while before we return. We don't mind paying decent prices for good seafood, but that is not the case here. Our seafood was overfried and the cole slaw was not edible. There was a very peculiar odor in the dining room, almost like a bathroom deodorizer. Maybe they are better known for their ice cream, but the overpriced seafood leaves a lot to be desired.

Ghost R.

Yelp
Definitely was a great place to have a big lunch splurging on Seafood. So that's why it's not a low score the only reason why it's not a 5 is because of the way they scoop ice cream. It was a regular sugar cone ice cream. But instead of just asking how much a person wants and checking to see how much a person wants instead of cramming at least two big scoops on top of one another that would be more sufficient. The reason why I was nothing a little bit is because of loading it on like that and I couldn't eat it on a cone because as melting luckily they provided me with a cup. So maybe make some changes on the way you scoop things and checking you with their customers instead of cry and packing a lot on ice cream. You don't pay a lot to get our clothes dirty because of overloaded ice cream cone. Other than that great food I enjoyed my chocolate almond ice cream
google avatar

Edie A.

Yelp
Hubby and I went to celebrate a birthday due, primarily, to their posted online menu and the attraction of the "Captains Platter", his favorite. I ordered fried shrimp plate, fried onions, and he added a cup of clam chowder to his captain's platter. My shrimp was hands down the most perfectly cooked shrimp that I've ever had outside of my kitchen. They were sweet, juicy and covered with a light batter. I rarely eat a whole entree, but fid that night. As good as the shrimp tasted, the fries simply provided a bed to hold them. The cole slaw was tossed after a quick taste, nothing special. The fried onion chunks were pretty good, but would be better as an appetizer. My husband's platter was about a three mile high pole of seafood. Haddock topped a VERY generous helping of scallops, whole belly clams and the forgettable fries. I guess the chowder was good as none of it made it to the carryout package at the end of our meal. The deal at this place is that you order at a window, then wander until your number is called. We found seating indoors easily, in possibly the most uncomfortable seats and tables ever. You won't want to linger.
google avatar

Rob P.

Yelp
Awful smell inside the resturant gets worse each year. The food and ice and cream for the prices are fair, but the service is awful. Any healthy requests are denied, items sizes and prices do not make sense. This would not be such a problem however no one steps up as a manager to explain things or correct things. Prices are now so high this place is only a novelty.
google avatar

Clay B.

Yelp
Haven't been out for some time do to covid-19. Thought Kimball's might be a good bet. $100 for two lobster rolls and seafood platter and two drinks. 45 minutes I'm thinking this was a very bad choice.

Glorya A.

Yelp
Best ice cream around!! We go here weekly since we live close and we love it! So many flavors and even some great choices for food too!
