Kimbe Asian Bistro

I previously lived in Japan and Kimbe has the closest ramen and Japanese cuisine to the cuisine that I used to eat in Japan (As of June 2025). Prices are really good too, only about $8-15 per average meal. A lot of the ramen broth offerings are vegetarian and thus, halal and Muslim-friendly, which was a big requirement for me. Overall awesome place!

We came in for lunch and expected to be charged lunch price. The server assumed that we ordered W Thai Chicken Crispy Chicken from the Signature menu $ 15.95 wheb we had opened the lunch page. We said lunch for 9.95. The server said the menu was closed. Can not understand why we were deceived of the price. Will not come back. They took advantage of us being seniors. Beware!!!!

Ordered from here on uber eats first and loved it all but wanted to try it in person. Eating here, the environment was super nice, the staff was awesome and attentive and checked on me often. The food… I got teriyaki chicken ramen with pork bone broth, king salmon roll, Kani salad, and some Nigiri sushi… everything was both aesthetically pleasing and tasted amazing. I will be coming back again for more, thank you to the staff and compliments to the chef! Add on here, they offer military discount so that was a nice addition.

Food was amazing staff was wonderful. We were helped by Mary who was so sweet and helpful she made the experience wonderful. You should stop by the place was amazing all round the food, staff, and atmosphere was amazing. Try it.

The sushi was delicious. The staff was very knowledgeable about gluten and was able to recommend good options with modifications. They had gluten free soy sauce. We saw a lot of people getting take out.

Really fresh sushi, the ramen is amazing, and the duck spring roll is fantastic! We will keep coming back! Update, we basically come back, weekly, our 4-year-old is obsessed with their salmon mango roll.

Walked into a clean and elegant minimalist designed space. The food was quickly ready. When I got home they had given us a free protein, a spicy chicken dish of some kind. We have been on the hunt for GOOD FRIED RICE. My picky almost 85 year old mom LOVED Kimbe's chicken fried rice. Mic drop. A compliment?!?!? Needless to say, this is now our go to Chinese joint. Can't wait to try their sushi and other offerings.

Kimbe is unmatched. I've been to the restaurant several times and also ordered for takeout/delivery, neither of which disappoint. I usually go for sushi but their spicy ramen is worth a visit too. Their service is perfectly attentive and the prices are reasonable, with a large enough menu for everyone to be happy. The restaurant always has enough seating to be seated without a wait but is never fully empty. They also have gluten free soy sauce, a nice and thoughtful addition, and they're open to reasonable substitutions. In a takeout order I simply noted that I love salmon, and they substituted the tuna roll that comes in their sushi dinners with a salmon roll! I didn't even have to ask. Go to Kimbe, you won't regret it. It's a great way to support local and enjoy an incredible meal.

On another squid hunt I came across this place with the appetizer listed as Grilled Calamari and the description "BBQ whole squid with teriyaki sauce". Sounds good to me. I paired it with their "Indian pancake" which I guess was like roti since it came with curry dip. I ordered and it was delivered to me in no time. Yup, I was right about the "pancake". It was a bit too greasy for me but I still ate it. The curry dip was good and helped cut down on the greasiness. The squid was delicious. I have not been to a place yet that had squid that was terrible. It was a nice light meal to curb my craving.

Clean and modern interior with very friendly and attentive staff. The soup has more of a sesame flavor than most - a nice twist. They were careful about my gluten allergy which I appreciated. The sushi rolls were beautiful and tasted great. Great flavors that weren't overpowering. The veggie roll we had was full of flavor, too.

Oh my heavenly gluten-free stars! No gluten free menu however, the chef knows everything you can, and cannot eat. Bonus points, they have gluten-free Yum Yum sauce! Unassuming from the outside, cute little diner, type of atmosphere on the inside. Amazing service, absolutely fresh sushi, delicious, and good-sized portions. The gluten eaters in the party, enjoyed bento boxes and crab Rangoon, as well as sushi. I enjoyed three different types of sushi and was beyond pleased with every single bite. This will become my brand new, go to place for sushi!

Tasty offerings with a decent variety from Sushi to Habachi. We had a new server so she made a few errors in taking the order but the senior team member came in to guide her and rectify the issues. Quiet but spacious and clean dining area with ample free parking.

The dining experience at this place was amazing! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious: the roast pork ramen with spicy broth was rich and flavorful, the chicken hibachi was cooked perfectly, and the salmon don was fresh! Also the service was top notch. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place for great food and service!

I've been back several times since the negative dine-in experience, but have only ordered carryout. I place all my orders online and have the option to pay in advance or pay when I pick up my order. My order has always been ready by the promised time and the interaction with the staff has either been neutral or positive. We'll usually order their grilled calamari with teriyaki sauce, the Kimbe roll, and lo mein or fried rice. The lo mein isn't as good as other places but my girls are picky and that's one of their favorite dishes. The last time we ordered it, I'm pretty sure they gave us the wrong dish because the noodles were rice noodles, and the flavor profile was way off. Other than that, we've never had any issues with the order accuracy.

This was our first visit to Kimbe. My husband's Kimbe Ramen had excellent flavor brothwise & the protein was minimal but tasty also. I ordered the Mongolian beef box. I enjoyed the miso soup & edamame. The Mongolian beef was disappointing, as the beef was obviously of low grade being slippery & very chewy. There was a vast difference between the beef in my dish & my husband's ramen. Having said that, I'll likely not order any of their typical beef dishes again, but would consider returning for the ramen.

We are continually searching for "our" sushi place, so we gave this place a shot. I almost always order the same things when we try somewhere new so I can get a good comparison. So we ordered edemame, a Philly roll and the Long Island roll. I could've used more salt on the edemame, but that's a minor complaint and probably specific to me. The Philly roll was good, as was the Long Island roll. My girlfriend is a little more adventurous with new places, so she got a bento box. She was happy with all aspects of it. Side note, the service here is lightning fast. We were very surprised at how fast each item we ordered came out to us. If anything, maybe it was a little too fast. Not a complaint, just an observation. The environment in this place is nice, with a classy feel. Put it this way: it's nicer inside than the big ads in the front windows would have you believe. In short, I believe we've found "our" sushi place.

Overall great food. Their presentation was on point, sashimi was thick, and the place is really clean. Went in there during lunch special and would highly recommend. Would definitely come back!

A few months ago we ordered take out and gave this place 5 stars. Have no idea what happened!! The food, a Chef's Sushi Choice and a Vege Ramen Bowl were not only visually unappealing but were practically not eatable. Very disappointing considering our bill was almost $60 with 2 other so-so rolls. Must say bye-bye to this place

I took the california roll and the ramen for takeout. The california roll was standard, nothing special but the ramen looked disgusting the broth looked suspicious and the noodles were bottom of the barrel stuff. Service was nice as i accidentally left a 10 dollar tip meaning to five a dollar and the staff came rushing back to give me back my money. It was in an ok plaza and the place didn't look bad. If you are looking for good food try somewhere else but if you would like to just eat something its okay.

Everything is so delicious, I have been coming here for a few years now and I have so many favorites and it's always easy to know everything will be just as I like it. The portions are always giving and make great leftovers and prices are very reasonable and affordable to skip out on cooking and enjoy a meal out. Thanks for the wonderful service and can't wait to visit again!

I love a good lunch deal and Kimbe delivered! I stopped in to order midday and the dining room was fairly empty. After placing my order, I was told that it would take about 10 minutes for my meal to be ready. For the lunch specials, they offered bento boxes, roll combinations, and wok and grilled entrees. For the bento boxes, there was a choice between hibachi or teriyaki meats. I got the teriyaki salmon which came with grilled vegetables, white rice, a spring roll, and a California roll. It was also served with salad and soup. The portion of the meal was good, despite a pretty thin piece of salmon. The sides helped to round out the meal. I think I was expecting a teriyaki glazed salmon but this was more of a light teriyaki broth that the veggies were sitting in underneath the salmon. It was good but could've had a little more flavor. Overall, I thought this was a good deal and I'll probably try other options from their menu s

How bad is the quality of Asian food in this region that this restaurant has 4.5 stars? My two vegetarian dishes (sauteed veggies with tofu and veggie ramen) were aggressively bland. Blandest Asian food I've tasted. The ginger tasted off. My husband described his food as average. We spend $80 and had 6 dishes, so it's not like we're judging this off a single dish. The second star came from our food being hot and ready within 15 mins of placing our order.

The sushi was some of the best you can get in Jacksonville. Also had a Ramen bowl and it was so delicious.

Went in for lunch with a few friends and ordered the Kimbe Ramen, shrimp shumai, fried calamari, and Thai crab cakes. The ramen, shumai, and calamari were all satisfactory, but perhaps my favorite that was ordered was the Thai Crab Cakes. These appetizers had the perfect combination of sweet and spicy with shredded mangoes to top it off. Overall, the staff was friendly, service was quick, and the food pretty good for its price point.

Best sushi restaurant in the area!!! The customer service was amazing!! After months of trying different sushi spots I finally found one with incredible service & fresh ingredients.

Tried out Kimbe Asian Bistro on Beach for the first time today. I ordered a spider roll and a variation of a salmon role. It was fine. Didn't blow my skirt up or anything. But I will say the duck roll was certainly tasty. It's roast duck, avocado, and mixed greens, wrapped in a scallion pancake, and topped with eel and "yum-yum" sauce. I'd come back for that and a bowl of miso soup for a nice little lunch.

Great sushi and amazing ramen. They always get the egg right and that's my jam. Get it? Like jammy eggs. Yum.

Amazing experience! we had a watress named Sun, she was very kind to us! overall I loved the place! the food was amazing and the Staff was just as amazing! I seriously didnt understand why it wasn't packed! I hope this reveiw helps :)

Well we had to come back and try their Ramen today, see if it ranks up there with the sushi. It does!! Far and away the best Ramen we have found in Jacksonville. The temperature of the Ramen was correct, piping hot (most restaurants serve it "American hot" which is much cooler than the Japanese way). The noodles were correct also, most places we have tried serve skinner ones that get too soggy too fast. The egg was perfect, marinated in soy and soft boiled just right. Meat cuts are normally real thin, these were nice and thick. We also got some Sushi to go and as we were driving home my wife said "Knobbysan, even their to go Sushi is pretty!" Made me laugh but she was spot on. I highly recommend the place. Was worth the road trip from Orange Park.

My boyfriend and I came in around 3 and it was empty inside. we odered chicken teriyaki ramen and a chicken bento box. The ramen was mildly bland but had a ritch broth. The sushi in the box was fresh and the chiken was pretty good. Overall $35 not including tip, they also gave us 10% off, I don't know why though.

Great food. We had shumai and two rolls, the King Lobster Roll and the Pink Lady Roll. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Based on my experience this place deserves 5 stars. I was so excited to find out they do lunch specials both Sat and Sun. Where else can you get cheap sushi on the weekends. Place was pretty empty, clean and food came out quick. I went with the lunch special with 3 rolls and a salad for $10. This was a steal. I went with the Mexican roll, salmon katsu (my favorite of the 3), and a sweet potato roll which I had never had before but was dynamite. Decent portion sizes and all 3 were full of flavor. I will def be back to try more sushi and other options. They have habachi, ramen, dishes like pad Thai and Mongolian beef. The options are endless. Best of all.... the yum yum/ shrimp sauce was top notch!

We caught this restaurant at the perfect time. There was less than 10 people inside including the staff on a Friday night. We ordered the King Salmon Roll and the Beauty and the Beast roll. The king salmon roll continues to be our favorite time and time again. This is the best sushi restaurant and most consistent we have found in jacksonville.

The house roll doesn't look impressive, but the flavor is pretty good. The fish seems fresh enough. I ordered the Kimbe ramen because I'm a ramen slut. The miso broth was drinkable but tasty. The shrimp and pork were both quite savory and a great fit for ramen. The egg was good too. With that said, I don't think it's a real broth in the sense that it's not carrying the umami of the meat. Other than the protein, the main additions were onions, corn, and a bit of scallion. Like I've written in other reviews, I'm not a fan of corn in ramen. Something else green would've been nice or even just more scallion. There's a piece of nori, but no kamaboko or mushroom.

Love this place. Had Conch & Uni. Very rare. And tasted fresh. Staff was pleasant and patient with us.

I really like Kimbe Asian Bistro. It is conveniently located on Beach Blvd not too far from Hodges on the north side of Beach. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. We were immediately greeted and seated by a hostess and were given our menus. Within a few minutes the waitress came to take our drink orders and to see if we were ready to order. We asked for just a couple more minutes and she politely left and came back a few minutes later. We each ordered the three sushi roll lunch special that came with soup and salad as well as the rock shrimp appetizer. Within a few minutes our soup and salad was brought to the table and just a couple minutes later so was our appetizer. The miso soup was very good. We both got the salad with the sesame ginger dressing and it was also very good. The rock shrimp appetizer was spectacular! It had quite a few tempura shrimp with a drizzle of sauces over it, just enough for some flavor but not too much so that the tempura stayed crispy. It was seriously wonderful! A little bit later our sushi came out and it was very good. The fish tasted fresh and had a great flavor. We got simple rolls but those are often my favorite so you can actually taste the flavor of each fish. Our lunch was great and the service was wonderful. The wait staff was attentive with refilling our drinks but was not overbearing. They gave us time to sit and talk and the food was delivered promptly. The restaurant is nicely decorated and is a nice quiet atmosphere where you can relax. I definitely recommend Kimbe Asian Bistro!

My favorite sushi spot in Jax! Always fresh, great variety, friendly staff and clean. We eat here weekly, usually to go and sometimes dine in. The quality is always consistent.

HIDDEN GEM!!!! I personally love sushi but my family not so much, so I was in search of somewhere that I could have sushi and they could have stir fry or a rice dish and I've found a new regular rotation place. We had the Japanese red curry and sesame chicken bento box and it was great value, and DELICIOUS! The bento is a great choice because it has everything you want- sushi , edamame, rice, and entre if your choice ... AND soup or salad! The soup wasn't anything I'd had before in the best way, if you like sesame flavor, it's certainly the better choice over salad. Seriously just so impressed with this place!

The service and folks are super nice but wow - the food has been completely homogenized. There was like no Asian flavor or inspiration in the food other than the titles. The only thing we liked was the tempura sampler as it did have great broth. Mongolian beef was just so "soggy" - no crisp to the beef or really any flavor at all. General Tso chicken was a bit better but over breaded and just ugh. I had 3 bites of each and that was enough. Waking up the morning after and I have a huge headache- I assume there was just so much MSG in it. I really wanted to like this place but ugh - not good at all.

Amazing sushi and all food every time. Amazing service. They have an amazing variety of sushi, Thai food options, hibachi, ramen, -- basically everything you'd want. We always leave Jax Beach to come here ever since it opened!

I really enjoy ordering delivery from Kimbe Asian Bistro. The food is excellent and always tasty. What keeps me coming back is that they staple my bag closed. Too many restaurants do not think of safety in that respect. In a time of a pandemic and mentally deranged people, the establishment is providing safety for their customers, as well as protecting themselves from litigation. Not understanding why more eateries do not think like this. I would never order food from a restaurant that does not secure my food.

I tried Kimbe Asian Bistro recently with some friends who were visiting from out of town. We checked the Yelp reviews first and they looked good. We were not disappointed! We started off with the lettuce wraps and the cooked shrimp sushi. The lettuce wraps were tasty and the shrimp sushi had a marvelous mango puree sauce that I want to have in my home! I ordered the Bento Box with steak teriyaki. The steak was prepared just as I requested and was very tender and juicy. I loved the big pieces of onion but I'm not a fan of broccoli. It's not the way they prepared it, I just don't like broccoli lol. This dinner is a great deal for $11.99. You get miso soup, salad, spring rolls, California rolls, and your choice of white or brown rice. You receive so much food you can't eat it for one meal. So it's a bonus lunch for the next day!

Very good place, different from other places this place has Sushi, hibachi and Ramen. I had a Beef bowel and it was fantastic, had to be one the best bowl I've had. Would absolutely recommend coming through. I came in at a time it wasn't very busy and the service was very quick. Wish I took more pictures but I will return.

New spot that opened in my neighborhood, so my daughter lobbied me to give it a try. In our minds you can never have enough sushi restaurants. Since we were eager to try what they had, we both got bento boxes and then some takeout to take home to the rest of the family. Service was really wonderful and friendly and professional. My daughter loved her steak Hibachi and spring roll, which I found a little mushy because it sits in a duck sauce, instead of having it on the side. We both found the sushi hard to eat because it fell apart as soon as you tried to eat it, but the flavors were fantastic. My chicken hibachi was excellent, except for the broccoli, and I normally love broccoli. Really nice touch to see brown rice as an option. We also took home General CSU's chicken and done Mongolian beef, which got rave reviews at home. Not a "blow me away" fantastic choice, but a solid choice for this area. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

Their food is simply amazing. They come out in a timely fashion, service is amazing and super accommodating. The food is so tasteful and fresh. Loved their ramen and their other non-sushi items!! Definitely would come back again!

When you first walk in you see it's a small location and isn't too packed but idk why or how the food is amazing and the presentation is gorgeous I got the panda and Alaskan roll with the pink grapefruit Sake and can I just say yum yum yum!! everything was sooo good and the sushi chef is a true artist!

Amazing food! I highly recommend the seafood ramen and shrimp dumplings, delivery and packaging is super efficient and the food arrives HOT!

Oftentimes the words Asian Fusion get a bad rap. It brings to mind images of confused menus and generic food. Nothing could be farther from the truth when you walk into Kimbe Asian Bistro. I too had misgivings about the place, I admit it, but I'm really happy I took a chance with this restaurant. A cold night and a hankering for Japanese food are what took us to Kimbe on a Sunday. That and the fact that they're open later than most. Getting into the strip mall where they reside is a little tricky. There is only ONE way to get in. If you miss the entrance then a u-turn is in your future. The restaurant itself is cleanly decorated in a slightly modern style with a sushi bar at the back and TV's scattered about the place. It's a comfortable setting for both groups and solo diners. Our waitress was quick to attend to our drinks while we looked over the menu. There's a lot to choose from which is good for the picky eaters in your party. We ordered the Dynamite Roll and a Kirin to start us off. I went with the Kimbe Ramen as my main and my friend chose the Bento Box with chicken. The presentation was on point across the board. Food came out quickly, arranged beautifully, and tasted delicious. There wasn't a bad bite in the entire meal. Honestly, I want to go back for a long lunch just to try out the rest of their menu. The prices were good, the service was solid, and food came out fast. This could easily be a regular haunt for when I'm craving Japanese. You should give them a try.

My son and I had a pleasant meal here - the place is small, quiet, chill, and our waitress was great. The prices are not too high so we tried some new things. The avocado roll was my favorite, and son's General Tso Chicken was yummy too! Enough for leftovers to take home.

It was a Sunday night it was raining it was cold and and I was like I know what would taste good some ramen. I really don't understand why people don't go there more their menu has a little bit of everything Chinese ,ramen ,Thai , sushi and everything is always outstanding. I know my soup was ramenlicious. This is a little gem of a spot hidden in the shopping center right next to the new Biggie's BonChon and Jersey Mike's talk about all my favorite spots in one row come on now if you haven't been there to check it out please do so I know there are a lot of ramen places popping up but this is one of my favorites...

Best Sushi place in Jax that's I've found so far. I've only been to 5 of them but this is my FAVORITE! The quality of their sushi rolls are unique and good. The regular volcano is my fav because it's not like any rolls I've had before. Won't be disappointed.

I got the Kimbe Ramen in the spicy miso soup. It was great! All the sushi U saw looked very fresh and tasted! I wish the menu was a little bit more descriptive. There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant but we still got good service. Will be back to try the sushi!

Food at this little shop is delicious! My second time and I have not been dissatisfied. Kimberly is so easy and accommodating! I hope their quality continues for a long time!
