I had an unpleasant experience during my last visit. The woman working there was very unfriendly. She seemed to have trouble speaking English, and her facial expression and the way she spoke in Korean made me feel very uncomfortable.

Update: Hands down the best catering spot in Los Angeles. We ordered from this place when my brother and his family visited from the south. Nothing beats this place. Our generation and future generations learned nothing about making OG Korean food. Support!! This place is the best!!!!!

Terrible customer service. An employee uses her saliva to open up a plastic bag that they give us the kimchi in and they act like you’re not even there.

The food was great and gave a lot last year but this time their portion was so little and costs a lot more than before for the same exact foods.

Yelp
I was strolling around town & to say the least I'm SOOO SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND THIS GEM ! The variety of kimchi they have here is insane. I purchased a medium tube of regular kimchi + the cucumber kimchi. I don't think I'll ever buy kimchi from the regular market ever again -- & what's the best part is how cheapppp she was ! $15 for the medium ish kimchi & $10 for the cucumber kimchi. If you lovvvv kimchi & are in this area plz try her out. Soo delicious & I love supporting mom & pops shops :') you can tell they make it w love here hehe

Yelp
This review is specific to their customer service. I'm a second gen Korean American, and Korean is def not my first language. I was really struggling to call around and get a catering quote in Korean, and trying my best to communicate in my broken Korean. I called Kimchi plus- lady picks up and responds to me in Korean and struggles to understand what I'm saying, and as she hands the phone to someone else mutters in Korean "what is she saying, she can't speak Korean." I was really disappointed in their customer service. The commentary that I overheard was extremely rude, and the situation could have been handled much better.

Yelp
$15 half size, $30 for regular large size kimchi. I tried two types of kimchi -pre-cut cabbage and the yeolmu. Both of the kimchis were too salty, which seemed to be heavily flavored with salt instead of a variety of fish sauce or shrimp paste that can give more of a well-balanced saltiness. The cabbage also seemed to be "salted" for too long (where they put the cabbage in salt water in the beginning).

Yelp
I bought pickles, salted squid and a small container of water kimchi for $20. I thought that was expensive for what I got. I asked her how much the 1/2 size of green onion kimchi was and she quoted me $20! I got the feeling they were up charging me as they initially thought I wasn't Korean. Born and raised in LA, and I know when certain businesses are trying to cheat.

Yelp
We ordered food for 80 people for our son's dol. Lee gave us great advice on quantities and what to order, and the food was absolutely delicious! We had bulgogi, fried chicken, tofu, japchae, two kinds of namul, and rice. And kimchi of course! Highly recommend.

Yelp
An entire store dedicated to kimchi?!! Yaaaaasss, count me in! Not much to see here, just huge jars of the good stuff, cheap and delicious. No frills, very simple shop, plenty of easy parking out front. Perfect for a party or big event, these tubs are huge, but it does last quite a while. Worth checking out if you want some authentic kimchi.

Yelp
Amazing authentic kimchi at good price. It's kind of industrial size & you'll need to chop it up yourself. Lady working there was very friendly and helpful & recommended I try the cucumber kimchi which was delicious. I will definitely go back for more. Highly recommend this review

Yelp
You have to know a little Korean or a bit about Korean food to come here. It's definitely not somewhere that you can just walk into randomly otherwise. Well, unless you came here first for tips, obviously. If you really just want kimchi, it's in the first fridge on the right. Huge jars and great prices. But it actually wasn't my style I suppose. It's really hyped up as being the best, but it's... good. There's a couple other places I do like better, but you're definitely not going to get this much or at this price. However, I did hit the jackpot with something else here! Luckily, I knew just enough to ask if they had lunch combos... And they do! It's kind of like a bento box. In Korean it's called "Doshirak." If it's lunch time and they have any available, go for it! You don't even have to think twice. The price was great and it was so delicious! Mine was spicy pork. It came with rice and banchan (side dishes). All of the side dishes were good. My own review is making me want to go back and get another. I'm almost talking myself into it right now. You can also try out the side dishes by just getting a container of each one. They're in the second fridge on the right. But it might be hard to pick one if you don't know what they are. If you get a lunch set first, there's a small portion of several side dishes on the plate. Then you can get a container of the ones you liked next time. That would be my advice. 4 stars for the delicious doshirak and banchan. 1 star off because it's going to be really difficult for anyone who doesn't already know what they're getting into to get started. And the kimchi was just good. It wasn't as delicious as the other side dishes in my opinion. But keep in mind that there's lots of different kimchi. This could be the one that's for you. (Side note... they're also a little impatient/seemed easily frustrated by trying to serve someone who didn't speak fluent Korean. I tried to be a little understanding because I can see how it might be frustrating if I were trying to help someone who doesn't speak English. But I still would've been nicer about it than they were. I was still able to order, but these few things did add up to at least -1 star.)

Yelp
I think my mother-in-law was tired of supplying my house with kimchi and other Korean side dishes, so she handed me the business card of Kimchi Plus and told me to buy some myself. I'm not Korean so it was a little intimidating and I wasn't sure what to expect. When I walked in, the refrigerators weren't fully stocked with kimchi or banchans. There were maybe about 20 jars of pickled veggies in one fridge and in the other fridge were containers of things I'm not familiar with. The cost for one gallon of kimchi is $10. It was perfect to eat when I took it home. Normally I get it from my mother-in-law over-ripe and ready for kimchi chiggae. Kimchi Plus also had pickled bok choy, cubed radishes, soy sauce garlic and jalapeños, and spicy cucumbers from what I recognized. Kimchi Plus also makes catered food, such as big platters of japchae and some agar jelly thing(?). Next time I'll come with someone who can communicate with the workers so that I can get the full experience. As for now, I'll stick with the kimchi!

Yelp
I've been buying my kimchi from this business for years. A gallon now cost $13. It's delicious and worth the trip.

Yelp
Came at 6:30 to purchase and they were closed.. hours online say they don't close until 8. Really disappointed considering they weren't available on postmates at all today.

Yelp
Amazing banchan store and catering. Fantastic vegetarian selection available and very generous with portions. The owner is a fantastic chef who knows how to make super flavorful but healthy dishes without using a ton of MSG. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Seriously the best kimchi ever. I honestly have passed by this place thousands of times but I have always bought kimchi at the market out of convenience. Quality and taste is awesome! Will be a long time customer!

Yelp
Saw the sign while driving to get some KBBQ and had to stop by. Kimchi plus whaaaaaaat? A store JUST for kimchi? I had to check it out. My sis and I parked quick and jetted off to inspect the store space. First step in, there are two huge fridge units with a good variety of kimchi. My eyes catch on a specific one and BAM. It was love. Radish in a sweet vinegar marinade. Where have you been all of my life? I got a small jar which ran about $5 and then got a medium jar of regular ol' napa kimchi for $10. $15 to satisfy all my kimchi cravings (for now) was pretty sweet. My only complaint would be that it was a little difficult to communicate as the ajumma had a fairly heavy accent. If it was not on display, I believe we'd have a hard time communicating what we were looking for. Overall though, we got a sample (and it was DELISH), and went home with bags heavy. On dry ice, I hauled my treasures home. It was great with everything. Rice, tofu soup, sneak snack, I mean, c'mon. Will definitely be back again. Til next time...

Yelp
We have ordered catering for the church 2 times. Today was our second time and totally disappointed. 1st time we ordered, bulgogi, japchae, jun(small bite size fried fish and meat) for 40 people. Bulgogi and japchae came in a big aluminum tray which were good. However jun came in about 45 pieces which was very disappointing. So we had rush to buy 10 packs of jun in Korean market that day which cost about $35(jun from catering was $50), it was about 60 pieces of mixture of fish and meat). We didn't even complain, we just ate it up since japchae and bulgogi was ok. So today we ordered seasoned Pollack, beansprout, japchae. When we went to pick it up, japchae was on top and we were able to see the tray size was different from before. So we asked the guy why tray size is different from before since we ordered same amount for 40 people. He said that the depth is different, so the amount should be the same. We had to go to church to drop off the food, so we left without arguing more. When we got there, we pulled out the tray that was used before and depth was the same and the size the new tray was about 2/3 of previous one. When we called Kimchi plus, the owner said they gave the right amount and we are confused. We even told them about the tray and they only said they gave the right amount. So if you are thinking about catering for your venue or get together, do consider and closely follow up with your order. For me I told my wife not to bother calling them again and just order from else. Hope you guys will not have to face disappointment as we did.

Yelp
BEST KIMCHI IN TOWN. After 5 years looking for an original flavor, I finally found my store.

Yelp
I was looking for a quick Korean "fast food" and saw this place out of the corner of my eye. The food was not only prepared quickly but it was amazingly tastier than most Korean restaurants I've been to. I wish I lived in the area. I'd be there probably every day. The bulgogi was extremely delicious and not fatty at all! Plus the lady was very sweet and took my order even though I think they were about to close for the night.

Yelp
Just bought my first gallon of kimchi here, and it might be my favorite right next to Olympic Noodles', Olympic's is similar but just has more garlic. I love that it's fresher tasting and still has crunch. I'm looking forward to eating it for easy meals with rice+ a protein, then making kimchi pancakes, kimchi fried rice, and kimchi jigae as it ages and I get nearer to the bottom. Definitely a no frills store, but no frills are needed. $10 for a gallon of the good stuff and they accept credit cards! This is definitely one of the little places that I love about living in ktown.
