I booked a package suite for my son’s wedding night that included “chocolate and bubbly” delivered to the suite. Three days later I spoke to my son and learned that it was not delivered. I called the hotel to informed them; and was questioned over and over. Basically, the person who answered the phone did not believe me. I told him how disappointed I was in their service and hanged up. I understand the room was beautiful. And I am glad my son and his wife enjoyed it. I am just extremely disappointed with their customer service.

I came into the rooftop for a good drink and fun. I used the valet service there. I've been lots of places but the valet experience I received from Eugene and the awesome conversation I had with him surely made my day. He's a great guy and full of wisdom. He took valet and customer service to an entirely new level! Most definitely will be coming back again!

We stayed at the Kimpton to have a downtown get-away and see a concert at BMO. The location is perfect! Restaurants, shops, Ben and Jerry's! The lobby has a nice flow, a separated area for sitting, flows nicely into the restaurant. The rooms are getting a tiny bit beat up, but everything was nice and clean and nicely decorated and very functional. Really nice staff at the front desk and the valet attendants were excellent as well. Will definitely stay here again.

Google
It was our first stay at the this hotel and we stayed a Saturday night. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean and the pillows were awesome! I want to add Louis was always one step ahead of us with his positive attitude and impeccable service! We would stay here again and again!

Saul did an awesome job as my valet. He was on time, careful with my car, and super professional the whole time. He made the summerfest experience really smooth and stress-free. I’d definitely trust him again and recommend him to anyone who needs a reliable valet.

I used the valet service while I was in Milwaukee for a concert and Bennett was amazing! He was prompt, professional, and friendly. He offered suggestions for food and other entertainment. When we returned from the concert, Bennett remembered us and went to grab our vehicle. Truly amazing customer service!

Google
Stayed here for Summerfest, absolutely loved that it was within walking distance to the event. Staff were absolutely amazing!!!! So polite, helpful and the service was fast whenever we needed anything. Love that its such a pet friendly based hotel as well!!!

Clean, great service, nice amenities and furnishings. Valet service was unlike any we have experienced. The vehicle came back to us so quick. he hustled just like it said on the website. Fanfrickrntastic. Smiles all around and excellent coffee.

Yelp
The hotel is in a perfect location downtown, near the river and lake, shops, food, and the Public Market. We opted in for the valet service and the hotel staff took care of us right away. HUGE shoutout to Louis who carried our bags up to our room and gave our two pups treats as a welcome. He was super friendly and really made our stay special. The room itself was roomy and clean. Our boys really enjoyed the comfortable bed and looking out the window. We were here to spend a night away for our anniversary, and the hotel surprised with a bottle of prosecco and dessert. It was such a wonderful treat! I will definitely stay here again when I'm in town. It's hard to find such a nice hotel that is good for dogs, too.

Yelp
Housekeeping is awful and the front desk could care less. If you leave your room past 12pm you don't get service. Upon check in my room wasn't very clean. I nearly cut my foot on a plastic razor cover left on the floor. Finger smudges on the mirrors and clogged sinks. They don't even know how room service works. I was told to look at the tv! There is nothing about room service on the tv and turns out they never gave me the welcome letter with WiFi or room service barcode. The rooftop bar service is awful and the bartenders are rude! I sat at the bar 3 nights in a row waiting for someone to acknowledge me. Instead they were watching tv or talking to each other! When they finally did acknowledge me they gave me an epic attitude and the smallest pour of wine I've ever seen! I used to be a fan of Kimptons until this one. Hard to believe this is the hospitality in Milwaukee.

Yelp
This venue wasn't what I expected at all! The food for my corporate event was quite underwhelming and like "Bar food "! Not at all what I'd expect from a hotel in the city. The welcome drink was the best part and then a few of us left and went out to dinner. Although the food presented well, it didn't have the flavors of any kind. The pizza was like eating bread, the brisket wasn't very flavorful or tender and had too much fat. The sliders were dry and the bread in the charcuterie was like a rock! The brisket was in a crock like grandmas house! The fries weee tasteless and not fresh. Sorry Kimpton!

Yelp
What. A. VIEW!! Stopped in around 630pm on a Saturday and boy did we JUST beat the rush. This rooftop bar is on the 9th floor of the Journeyman Hotel (called The Outsider). Walk past the front desk to the elevator and take 'er up! Indoor/outdoor seating that has doors when weather is crummy or chilly. Fireplaces, comfy couches, high tops, 2 bars; what more could you want. Food: It's all about drinks and light apps. And all but ONE food item is GLUTEN FREE!!! I couldn't believe it! Highly recommend the crispy shrimp and the fries. Mocktails were delicious too! Parking: we utilized the garage right around the corner. Only a few bucks for a few hours Only thing we didn't like was the delay of seeing a waitress. It was a first come, first serve type seating (true rooftop bar) but it took about 15 mins for someone to notice we were waiting for assistance. But once we were seen, we got our drinks quickly and our food came out fast.

Yelp
Mattresses sit on frame, with no box spring (dorm rooms have better mattresses). They are saggy. My back hurt so badly, had hard time sleeping and was sore all day. Shower does not drain, so standing in water (even next day). Had a mystery charge for $122 at 3am...front desk said it was unauthorized and would fall off credit card??? There are dogs everywhere in the hotel (and my floor smells like it). Had do not disturb on door, yet person kept pounding...answered, only to be handed 4 bags of coffee, yet room has no coffee maker??? Ordered wood fired pizza from restaurant and it was paper thin, and fell apart. Still tasted good, but had to eat with knife and fork. While eating, we saw our car that was valeted two hours earlier, drive past the window (we have a very distinctive car - have no idea why they would be driving our car). No free breakfast. For this price, I would expect better.

Yelp
Celebrated a special occasion with my girl friends at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the mixed experience didn't live up to our expectations. They opted for a variety of items from the charcuterie board, steaks, and pastas, but none of them found their choices enjoyable. I, however, ordered the chicken salad, which was decent. The chicken was fresh and well-cooked. Regrettably, I have to rate the overall experience as two stars due to the subpar service, but the rooftop service allowed me to give it another star. Better service. We waited for at least 45 minutes to place our meal orders, and our waitress was notably absent during our appetizers, champagne, and meals. While the location itself was aesthetically pleasing, the disappointing service overshadowed the beautiful setting. I wish the service had matched the appeal of the venue.

Yelp
Stayed here several times with zero complaints! Staff is always super nice and facilities are clean. They have social hour at 5 with complimentary snacks and drinks. Would definitely recommend. I will say the porcelain dog in my room the first time I stayed here scared me half to death because the lights were off and I didn't know they had those in the rooms! complimentary water in the fridge downstairs and gym is open 24/7. Cute little hotel close to everything .

Yelp
The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel was amazing! This was our second time staying with this hotel, once prior we stayed at the Huntington Beach location in California and again, I was very impressed! The hotel room was very clean with a great view and centrally located with many food/ drink options within walking distance or riding distance with the complimentary bikes you can take out. The restaurant located in the hotel had AMAZING Mediterranean food, we ate there several times, and the rooftop bar had great drinks, very comfortable seating, and a great view, with great staff as well! The staff was very courteous and helpful with anything you may have forgotten or needed, we had some unexpected rain during our stay and did not have an umbrella or ponchos and the hotel had all we needed to still be able to enjoy our day trips and stay dry! The complimentary happy hours were great to unwind, enjoy the warmth, and wonderful decor of the lobby with great company and conversation! All in all it was a wonderful stay, and we will be staying with this hotel again!! Thanks Kimpton for being so great!!

Yelp
Hotel was fine. Nothing special, but good location. The valet service caused damage to the interior of my car which I reported to the hotel on the drive home when I noticed it. I sent photos and spent hours communicating with the valet service. The service was very slow to respond and I had to reach out several times to get a response. They denied my claim. Horrible would never recommend. Ever.

Yelp
Kimpton is my favorite hotel chain. They are each so different. I was able to stay here because of a free night from my IHG credit card. I was treated well. I was given a very nice welcome gift because of my elite status. No other Kimpton had ever done this! The room was very nice. The bed was a little firm, but comfy. There is a mini fridge in the room. The theme of this Kimpton is pets. They have a dog statue in the room with a water bowl. It goes along with the third ward where everyone has dogs. I didn't bring my cats with me, but all Kimptons are pet friendly. My one gripe is the tea in the morning... Usually it's available with the coffee. You can't get tea until the cafe is open. They had coffee in the lobby, but there wasn't even a microwave to make my own tea. They had Rishi tea which is local. I prefer the la Colombe that other Kimptons have had. Rishi was ok.

Yelp
Excellent location, very trendy with an awesome rooftop bar. Top notch customer service from check in to check out. Free pool in lobby along with a beer and wine tasting in the evening. Really nice restaurant that has free coffee in the morning. All pretty great. I really like that this hotel is modern and relatively new, yet was built to have a nostalgic feel. They have some nice amenities, like bike rental (I think they are free) and backpacks for those who want to venture around the city and lakeshore. There is no swimming pool however. As far as the rooms, they are average size. They do have a nice shower and TV but are not very sound proof. Any noise in the hallway is easily heard in the room. And here's what can be a big let down.... Depending on what side of the hallway you are on you might get a nice view of the 3rd Ward or.... Like we did, get to look at basically nothing. Just the walls and rooftop of the buildings behind the hotel. Would stay here again, but would ask for a better view!

Yelp
Great bar and food, service, staff are fantastic. Great place for a cocktail and a bite to eat

Yelp
Excellent location- especially if you plan to visit Summerfest. Valet that car- no driving necessary. Check in easy, room was great. Very close to great food and shopping! We forgot cards for our regular gin game during cocktail hour. I texted them and they delivered them to us as we enjoyed "wine time" in the lobby. I'm a fan.

Yelp
upon checking in I expect exceptional service, such is not what I got. No early check in unless you pay to be upgraded. Waited for my room to be ready well after 3PM. The front desk is not informative, I had to figure out where the roof top access was and what social time was all about. I 've stayed at many Kimptons and received way better treatment not even thank you for being a reward member with their credit card. No snacks in the mini fridge and no upgrades. I come to this chain because of the special treatments and perks. Holiday INN gave me better service in Millwaukee and even an upgrade and that is a lower end hotel. All I hear front the front deskmanage is we don't do that at the location. Well am already spoiled at the other locations across the USA. My next stay will be at the Nashville TN location let's hope I get better informative treatment.

Yelp
I stay here regularly. Can't beat the location in the Third District. It really takes on additional magic in the winter with a warm welcoming fireplace in the lobby and happy hour with wine & snacks. The rooftop bar has a beautiful view and even in winter with fire pits you can enjoy the indoor/outdoor vibe. This is a very pet friendly hotel, comfortable rooms and robes for you to use. Great place!!!

Kelsey Q.

Yelp
we stayed at this hotel for a wedding. i called twice prior to arrival with questions - one time simply to confirm my reservation and the second time to find out check in time. each time I was hung up on. seems the front desk staff doesn't want to be bothered with customer service.
google avatar

Gilbert T.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! I would definitely stay again and again, very cool vibe and super fun roof top, front desk team definitely had a fun loving atmosphere and make you wanna be apart of the fun.

Kirsten S.

Yelp
Positives: bed comfortable, nice bar, great valet staff. However we paid for a five star hotel and service and that's not what this was. Rooms were not serviced daily or only partially serviced, bathroom had mold and dirt, and there was drilling noise one day at 7:30 am. For the price this was not worth it.
google avatar

Cristina M.

Yelp
We have stayed here a few times and enjoyed every visit . They offer valet but there is a parking garage nearby . Great 9th floor bar! I love the Kimpton lobby happy hours too! Fantastic location and dog friendly .
google avatar

Tracy K.

Yelp
Comfortable and classy They are adherent to COVID precautions. Lovely lobby. There is a parking garage down the end of the block. We arrived too late to enjoy the rooftop bar and we missed out on social hour. The room was well appointed. The view lacks but it's walking distance to many attraction There was a wedding group on our floor that you could hear down the hall and was a tad annoying.

Yelp
Honestly, if I could give negative stars, I would. Positives: great location, cocktail hour, room was beautiful Now the reality: I was here for a business trip. I flew more than 1/2 way across the country, to a city I've never been to. I had already had a difficult morning and some unexpected challenges which cost a bit more than expected. I got to the hotel, hot, tired, and ready for a shower but I was too early. The girl at the desk was lovely. She took my bags and said she needed to have a card on file. She assured me it would not be charged. After a walk around the town and checking into the conference, I went back to the hotel and was told the card to had given was declined. I asked why it was charged and was told they put a "soft hold." I explained that I had another card I could use but it was available in my digital wallet. They could not accept that payment method, so I said I have an image of the card. Again they said no. I asked how much I needed and the girl I was speaking with said I would need $75. I had a card linked to my checking acct so I used that. But the actual charge was 75/night!! The manager came out and said there was nothing she could do. By this time, I was very frustrated and started to cry. I asked if she had any suggestions and she shrugged her shoulders and apologized. I said, "what am I supposed to do? Go to a homeless shelter?" Her response was, "I'm not saying that, but...". I was terrified and in disbelief. I called my husband and we were trying to figure out what to do. Another manager came out and my husband and I spoke to him. He said, "I just need you to fill out a credit card authorization so we can process the card digitally,". So, this easy solution was NEVER presented. I cannot believe I had to go through this for a hotel room that was adequate ,no coffee pot, and a very uncomfortable bed. All because they were worried I would steal a damned towel??

Yelp
Wonderful boutique hotel facility & staff, limited food & beverage options. Hotel- Kimpton Journeyman (Milwaukee, WI) Date- 5sept2021- 7sept2021 (2 nights) Overall: 5/5. Excellent. Rewards Club Recognition- 5/5. Excellent. Upon check in, we were verbally thanked for our loyalty, and our loyalty club status was recognized. Our room was upgraded, we were assigned 600 welcome bonus points. A $10 Food & Beverage/Raid-the-Bar credit was provided. Two drink vouchers were provided. The social password was good for a brown bag of goodies: two bottled waters, some 'sweet fish' some peanut m&ms, & two local beers. An 'Inner Circle Welcome Amenity" of a bottle of Pinot Noir & a large dark chocolate with caramel candy bar. We felt the hotel Staff- 5/5. Excellent. Logan checked us into the property, and he was efficient. A bellman was offered to help us with our bags; no luggage carts were available. Bernard was pleasant once again this visit; he is reliably enjoyable to interact with, as is Matthew. Jacob, our server at the Outsider rooftop bar, was also great, quite memorable. Thank you, staff, for the pleasant experience. Property Appearance & Maintenance- 5/5. Excellent. Exterior- 5/5. The property is well branded, and the exterior is clean and debris-free. The valet was present & staffed. Interior- 5/5. All elevators & lighting appeared functional, and the walls and baseboards had relatively few to no scuff marks. The carpets were spot free. Accommodations- 5/5. Excellent. We were assigned a "King Spa," and we were very happy. The room was exactly as advertised on the hotel website. The bed was comfortable, the pillows supportive. The bathroom had a separate shower and soaking tub. Housekeeping- 5/5. Excellent. Although housekeeping remains suspended during guest stays, the room was immaculately cleaned. Linens were spot free, as was the bathroom. All toiletries, such as facial tissues, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc., were provided in a supply adequate for the length of our stay. Housekeeping can deliver any additional items guests needed, on request. Pool/Gym- 4/5. The fitness center is available, but there is no pool at this property. Food & Beverage Options- 2/5. Below Average. Beverages were available for purchase at the front desk. Kimpton's Signature Wine/social hour proceeds as usual in the lobby from 5p until 6p; a Pinot Noir & Sauvignon Blanc were served by front desk staff members. On a holiday weekend (Labor Day), there were no food options available from the restaurant, aside from the minibar items available at the front desk. The lobby restaurant served only brunch on the weekend, plus Labor Day, but the hours of operation were not advertised or known to front desk members. The upstairs bar served cocktails, but none of the snack items on the menu were available. Self-serve complementary coffee was available from 7a until 10a. Laundry- not evaluated. Computer/Printer/WiFi- 5/5. Excellent. WiFi signal was strong, and the connection was fast and reliable. Streaming was smooth and uninterrupted. Other- Pandemic Operations: sanitizing stations were present throughout the hotel, and the staff reliably wore masks over their nose and mouth, as did guests. Staff members were continuously cleaning surfaces, elevators, etc. This hotel clearly takes pandemic precautions seriously. Guests could be confident in the hotel's safety.

Yelp
Great hotel...a little pricey but excellent service, comfy beds/linens, and nice gym with peloton. Only ding is that I left a charger in the room (I know exactly where), despite generous tip, they said nothing was found so that was a little irksome.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a very nice and upscale hotel. The neighborhood it is in was very hip. The staff was nice and gave a great feel when I checked in. They even offered beer or wine with flatbread when we checked in. The room was nice and clean along with the bathrooms. They offer to bring you anything you may need that you may have forgotten to bring with. The rooftop bar and grill was nice even though it was mainly enclosed due to the cold weather. I know it would be beautiful in the summertime.
google avatar

Jenn M.

Yelp
Very cute hotel this was my first time staying here. The reason i took a star is the kitchen closes early so its hard to get food in the restaurant downstairs unless your ordering room service. Check-in was smooth and the staff was helpful and attentive. Wouldn't mind staying at this hotel again.

Yelp
Had an absolute amazing weekend in the city. Kimpton is dog friendly and provides a water dish and a complimentary dog toy and treat bag for your lovable pup. The rooftop is beautiful at the Outsider. Highly recommend a sunset cocktail upstairs followed by brunch at their restaurant in the morning. Will absolutely stay here again!

Yelp
Location: ***** Cleanliness:***** Amenities: ***** Service: ***** Value: ***** If you are coming to MKE or even the burbs you may want to consider Kimpton Journeyman. Wonderful location in Third Ward with easy access to Interstate to get you north, south or west to the burbs. This location gives you access to lake front, museums, sports, shopping and tremendous restaurants. Everything stands out for this hotel. From the moment I checked in to the moment I left. Front desk and service is top notch. We even received a text asking how our check-in went and if there was anything else they can do! Parking downtown is always a premium but the valet service is tops as well. I have been here for business meetings as well which led me to stay here rather than our normal Pfister Hotel. The rooms are not your standard decor and bed was firm but soft. The happy hour was fun with wine and beer. The rooftop bar is fun during the summer and offers great foods, drinks with an atmosphere to fit the upscale offering that overlooks Milwaukee. For business, we had meetings in the event hall and exceptional service for food, drinks, Internet, projectors and screens. I also liked the water bowls for dogs placed in areas in the lobby and rooms. I also like they used Atelier Bloom shampoo, conditioner and body wash and not the run of the mill 1 oz cheap stuff in most chains. Take a walk around the Third Ward or East Town. Plenty of boutiques, shops, coffee shops, bars and restaurants to explore.

Yelp
Well this is a splendid hotel! I'm a big Kimpton fan and this didn't disappoint. It's situated in a trendy area with tons of nearby restaurants, shopping and coffee shops. The area really has a little something for everyone. As for the hotel itself, it's beautiful. Our room was huge and spotless. The bathroom was really nice. The decor is elegant and classy. I felt super fancy staying here. However, I'm gonna be annoying and play the, "I'm a couple nights away from the IHG Spire level" card and just say, while everything was great, a couple weird room quirks sorta got to me. For the amount of (points/cash) I paid for the 2 nights here, I was expecting a super top notch experience. -the bathroom door wouldn't close all the way. It was a barn door/sliding style and it never fully closed. -Sadly, the hallway noise was more than the average hotel. -the shower floor didn't slope to drain properly, so I endured a post-shower floor mopping extravaganza. -I was in a room that had a connecting door (presumably for families) and could hear everything. It was definitely kids next door and they were having a great time, but I could hear every laugh, scream, and good morning rooster noise they made. On the positive side: + real wine glasses to drink my bathroom tap water! + great views + the most comfy bed + slippers Neutral: -/+ We were given coupons for a beverage worth up to (but not exceeding) $13 for the rooftop bar. Sweet, right?! LOL! the menu had all cocktails/wines by the glass listed at $14. If you like beer, you're in luck. If not, you're SOL.

Yelp
This was my first stay the Journeyman but it won't be my last. The stay was perfect in every way. During these Covid times, the quality of the hotel and its staff are even more important. Perfect location and construction (I have stayed in 5 star hotels where I can hear every word next door, not the case at Kimpton). Great service, and adapted great to covid times. Great views and of course amenities. Looking forward to coming back. Hotel: It's a beautiful structure that blends well with the architecture style of Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward. Check is was well run, socially distanced and efficient. The room was in great shape and there was even a ceramic dog (traveled with two dogs). Some rooms are designated as dog rooms. The room was very nice with large windows and I loved the view and I definitely felt like I was in the heart of the Third Ward. It was clean. Due to Covid, there is no daily towel and bed service, etc. but I was able to get fresh towels and other items that I forgot to bring as needed. I really like their texting feature so if I needed something I just texted the item and VERY FAST the item would show up outside my door. The housekeeping employees had gloves and masks. Hand sanitizers were located everywhere. Location: Third Ward-prime location and all within walking distance. Restaurants: Great restaurants and of course the rooftop bar Outsider are some prime spots. Well socially distanced. Parking: Due to Covid there is no valet parking, so after unloading, I had to move my cars to the parking structure on Milwaukee which has a daily fee. It is not a come/go as frequently as needed. So once you leave the parking lot, even if you are staying the full day it's a different ticket. Pets: Very dog friendly hotel, and dogs had a great time. They even write the names of the visiting pets on the day of their arrival. Overall: The 4 day stay was great. A classy and stylish hotel in the Historic Third Ward, maximizes the great experience of this area.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to post but in this case that is a good thing.. I was enjoyed myself that much! This was a great place for a Sunday Funday type of day. We had gone to brunch down the street and had some drinks there and then came here to continue the day and it was honestly perfect for that. We got a good spot outside, at first there was no music playing outside even though there were a lot of speakers out there so we asked the bartender if they could turn on the music and they did with no hesitation and it really added to the whole ambiance of the place. I drank grey goose club soda lemon and lime (my strong usual 1st pick) and they kept them coming steadily (again I love that). We got a great spot on a nice little couch outside and stayed there for hours. We also got the buffalo califlower (decent, not the greatest but not bad) and the cheese curds (which I would give a solid 8.5 out of 10). Great customer service and great ambiance, there were a lot of people that came in and out of the establishment. Also had a nice view and we got to catch a good amount of the sunset before we went to dinner. 10 out of 10 will come here again!

Yelp
I stayed here over the 4th of July holiday in one of their one bedroom suites (#215). First, I'll say the bed was comfortable and workout room was nice. That said, our room didn't have a dresser to put your clothes. Second, the internet SUCKED really bad. What bothered me most was the lack of storage. Yes, there is a small closet but it's barely enough for one person to put their bags, let alone two. The bathroom was nice BUT again, no place to put personal items like grooming gear. The hotel also needs a vending machine. It's nice to have the option to buy a water or soda other than the room's fridge. Honestly, for the price of the room it wasn't worth it. Our room was not cleaned for 3 days. Only on the morning of our check out at 9 AM did someone knock on the door to clean our room.. I won't be staying again.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful hotel... the rooftop bar, the rooms, the lobby, and the event hall for a wedding. I have been here multiple times, and every time the service has improved beyond exception. My experiences at the Kimpton Journeyman are the reason Kimptons are my first choice for traveling. My first time at the Kimpton Journeyman in Milwaukee, WI was when the Outsider, the rooftop bar, was first opened. The service was a little slow, underwhelming, and was not equivalent to the price we paid for drinks and food. I kept going back to the Outsider for the phenomenal view, but the service has always spotty. Fast forward two years, and we came back to the Kimpton Journeyman for a wedding. The whole transaction, from the initial phone call to checking out of our room was memorable and above and beyond. We missed the wedding block deadline and all those rooms were spoken for. However, they gave us the same wedding block discount due to some five star customer service. Kimptons are my favorite hotels because they allow dogs with no extra pet fee. It's next to impossible to find a decent hotel that does that. Kimpton Journeyman caters to pets, and I love and respect that. There are dog treats in the lobby next to a chalk board in the shape of a dog. It displays the names of all the dogs residing in the hotel. My heart melt when I saw Kylo's name (dog mom, right here). The rooms are modern and stylish with lots of room (pun intended). Our room was facing a building roof, so the view was the least interesting thing. Other than that, lots of closet space with hangers and his and hers robes. There was a ironing machine, safe, full length mirror, and lots of other amenities. Room service was fast and the food was good. Valet was approx. $31 per day, which is average for downtown Milwaukee. The banquet hall held around 100 people. The staff was efficient and professional during the whole wedding. The bartenders had character and made great drinks. Check out was at 11:00AM--- quick and easy. Handed our room key to the front desk and that was that. I would suggest the Kimpton for the food, the rooftop bar, the service, and the stay. This hotel stands out from the rest. Until next time, Kimpton Journeyman.

Yelp
My vehicle was stolen while the valet was in possession of my car key. When I asked for my car the next morning, they said that it was stolen. When asking for someone to take responsibility for my damaged vehicle, they said that it was not their fault. If you stay at this hotel and run into this type of problem, do not expect the hotel to take ownership of any wrongdoing on their part. I would give it -5 stars if I could.

Yelp
This was my first stay at the Journeyman, and I hope to visit again. I had an amazing experience with the welcoming and accommodating staff, the outstanding food and drinks (at the restaurant and rooftop bar), and there are so many amenities; almost anything you can think of, they probably have and will deliver to your room. The room and hotel were beautiful and elegant. Prime location, and loved that they adapted so well for Covid, including complimentary social hour with beer and wine! The only cons in my opinion were the noise (lots of drunk/loud people in the hallway and I could hear every word they were saying), and a mildewy odor in the bathroom, which was otherwise pristine.

Yelp
We stayed at the Journeyman for 6days and each day was better than the next. The first night we went to the rooftop bar and it was wonderful atmosphere inside and out. The fire pits in the winter time work great it's super warm and toasty. We are downstair in the restaurant 3 days. Not because of the convenience but because it was truly delicious. They do a happy hour every night and it's exactly what I love to start the night off right before heading out to dinner. I have to say every person on staff is so kind, helpful, nice really all the things. If I'm back for fun I'll definitely bring my pups. We'll for sure be back for work or play soon!

Yelp
I'm currently writing this in the middle of our stay and am highly considering leaving early during my reservation as I'm not sure I can do another night here. We actually stayed here two years ago and had the best time and were excited to try it again. Upon arrival to our room yesterday, the sheets on the bed had holes in them and dirt; makes you really wonder how clean this place is. The red velvet chair in the corner has white drops of who knows what all over it and smells. All of the furniture is so dinged up that it looks like a Super 8. The bed itself however was pretty comfortable and the bathroom is nice. The noise at the hotel is unbearable, at least on our floor. We get that there's a rooftop bar and it was a Friday night but the halls were filled with drunk people literally falling over in the elevators and halls. There were girls running through the halls drunkenly screaming until FOUR AM. We can hear ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING in the room next door; the neighbor was scream crying until THREE AM. We could hear absolutely every "R-rated" activity going on at all hours as well. You can hear every single door close in the place. I've never stayed in a louder place. Maybe it's the fact that I just finished three 14 hour night shifts in a hospital and had been up for 24 hours already that caused the hotel to be so difficult to sleep in. Youd think it would be the opposite and shows how bad it is. The rooftop bar had great drinks but it took us, paying customers of the hotel, over an hour for a table and then we were seated directly next to and facing the bathroom. So we spent our night as the only table watching people come in and out of the bathroom. A drunk older man fell on me at one point which was spectacular. The one positive is that staff were excellent, polite, nice, and helpful. The hotel has turned very Covid friendly and it's nice to see everyone taking it seriously. I am upset I spent $900 for TWO nights at this place.

Yelp
Super preppy and pretentious. Not the type of place I would want to frequent, but the patio is undeniably well laid out / nice.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised when I was invited to attend a Graduation Celebration at the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel. The decor is tastefully modern, the rooftop deck has an amazing view of the Milwaukee Harbor and Lake. It was a perfect day to sit outside or in as the meal was served to us Buffet Style aware of COVID Restrictions. So we were served by the staff which was masked and gloved appropriately. The Brunch was a mixture of fantastic Breakfast or Lunch options which included made to order Omelettes, a Prime Rib Station and a Pasta Bar. All the food was excellent. The Party Organizers did a fantastic job and the Staff were super attentive and kind. It is a great venue for an upscale Celebration

Yelp
Rooftop service is not good... the staff looked the other way... couldn't order a drink... had to go to the bar... however the view is beautiful

Yelp
Wonderful experience. I had been for dinner when they first opened last year and was excited to stay at the hotel. They had the room ready upon checkin and upgraded me to a suite on the second floor. I was a little worried about street noise on a lower floor but the room was completely quiet. The suite had a sitting area and separate bedroom and a gigantic bathroom. Perks included a $10 raid the bar and a happy hour from 5-6. Every staff member we dealt with was professional and as nice as can be. That includes the waitstaff in the rooftop bar. The location was great for summerfest as well as walking around to shops and restaurants. I wish I had more than one night but I will defiantly return. My previous favorite in the area was the Iron Horse but the kimpton moved into a close second.

Yelp
I have stayed at the Journeyman 4 times over the last couple of years.  I have stayed there solo, with my kids, with my dog, with a friend.  I have stayed in a standard room and the King Spa room. Rooms The rooms are well-appointed, high end and clean.  The only thing I would say and this is a design issue I have seen in other hotels is the place to turn on the shower forces you to get shot with cold water.  I have experienced this in other hotels, but it drives me nuts to get blasted with cold water when I am turning on the shower.  That is my only criticism.  The rooms are otherwise appointed and beautiful. The beds have given me the best night of sleep ever - so comfy! Amenities I have brought my dog here, but the only issue is they really do not have an ideal place for you to take your dog to go to the bathroom.  You have to walk quite a distance, but this is part of the "city life" experience.  They brought him a dog dish with a dog statue - he was terrified (in a hilarious way) of the dog statue and a dog bed. The hotel also put "Mister Ninja Darth Vader" on the chalkboard when you enter the lobby.  That gave many chuckles. The hotel staff is top-notch.  The boys and I hung out in the main lobby for a little while because it is so inviting and cozy and the boys had so many questions for the staff - like how many light bulbs are in the foyer light fixture (no one knew)..... We ordered room service and the food was top notch.   I have also attended a private event on the top floor of the hotel and it was also great.  The food and service were fabulous.  The attendants made sure everyone was taken care of and they made sure the patio was well heated.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite hotels in Milwaukee! Tough to go wrong with a Kimpton though. Dog-Friendly, Clean, great rooms! Love the happy hour daily from 5P to 6P! Typically get a choice of Red Wine or White Wine and a couple of beers...and some finger food. I love the location of the Journeyman - in Milwaukee's Third Ward walking distance to some great shops and the 'Public Market' which is absolutely great. Two public parking garages very close if you want to save about $11 per day in valet parking charges. Parking in the public garage run about $25 per day, but don't have in/out privileges. So if you are going in and out a bunch parking at the hotel makes a lot of sense.

Yelp
We spent several nights at the Kimpton Journeyman with our children during Spring Break and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel itself is in a prime location in Milwaukee's Third Ward and walking distance to a ton of great restaurants, shops and attractions. The Journeyman is well decorated, with very comfortable rooms and great space for families or business travelers. The real stand out for us was the staff. From the moment we pulled up, the staff was terrific, making our family of four (+ our dog) feel welcome and comfortable. Of particular note, Jesse at the front desk was on point - helpful and competent. After Mark (another winning staff member) got us settled in, Jesse sent up treats and a handwritten note for our kids. Impressing a 9 year old boy is easy, but he won over our 13 year old daughter, which is super impressive! Every staff member we encountered was friendly, polite and went out of their way to make our family feel at home. Overall, this is a great place to stay in Milwaukee. The happy hour is a lovely bonus, as is the morning Collectivo coffee bar, and we found our stay to be delightful.

Yelp
This hotel was absolutely fantastic! We stayed here last weekend for a wedding and was highly impressed the moment we walked through the door. The staff was great and very accommodating. On Friday night, the rehearsal dinner was actually at the hotel on the rooftop. It was beautiful and the food was incredible. Once again, the staff was on point and catered to all guests needs. The hotel is a little pricey but they do offer a lot of nice accommodations for guests. They also offered free beer/wine and pizza during certain times which was neat. Overall, I would highly recommend! Especially for wedding parties. It was perfect for our group.

Yelp
I really wanted this to be a 5 star stay. It was nice, don't get me wrong, but for $350/night there were things we expected and didn't see. Pluses: The cocktail hour from 5-6 has very nice beer and wine selections. With a nice area to enjoy your beverages. Tre Rivali, the hotel restaurant was awesome and we would highly recommend. The hotel bar on the 9th floor has great reviews, however it was winter so the outdoor aspect wasn't available and it was late. We were able to get 2 drinks to take to our room, but 1 cocktail and 1 beer was almost $30. The location is perfect. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Public Market. Cons: Parking is pricey as there is nothing designated for the hotel, but it's the city so that's not uncommon. We opted to self park for $25/night, but they do have valet for $38 night and that is come and go as you wish. The room itself was nice, but not amazing. Small things like the bathroom fixtures being loose and the tv cabinet being beat up show the wear and tear that has not been attended too. It COLD outside and the blanket on the bed was super thin. We turned up the heat, but I'm sure we could've gotten an extra blanket had we asked. Walls are thin and we could hear others, but thankfully no one was too disruptive.

Yelp
We had such a great stay at this hotel! Excellent customer service and the room was wonderful! Only thing to note is that the restaurant is not open for for us to get our free breakfast on Mondays but everything else was amazing. Definitely check out the rooftop bar.

Yelp
Awesome location in downtown MKE. Valet service is great. $30 for your entire stay to come and go as needed. They just need a 5 min warning. The reception area is small but extremely helpful and efficient. The wait is short and your questions will all be answered. All dining options on site are delicious. Maybe not the fastest service but worth the wait for the food. When we stayed, they had a happy hour 5-6 with free wine and pizza!! It was quite the perk. Room was good size, bed comfortable and decor chic. Awesome shower but water pressure didn't knock my socks off. Lots of snack choices in the room- extra $$ of course, but nice to have. Nice quiet hotel. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
I have visited the Kimpton a few times just for the rooftop bar which if you are local and don't have a need/want to stay at the hotel its definitely worth visiting. They have an indoor bar as well as an outdoor portion when the weather is nicer that has fire pits, games, and some cozy couches and great city views. The drinks are a little steeper than most Milwaukee bars, but sometimes an experience is worth it! Also the bartenders were SO friendly. Like so so so so so friendly. I haven't had a personable bartender in quite some time and they went above and beyond. I finally spent a night and the rooms were nice! They clearly paid attention to detail with the carpet, the wallpaper, the artwork, etc. They didn't skimp on anything I really appreciated that they had nice coat hooks, a dog dish for dog guests (yes -dogs are allowed). In general the furniture just looked so nice, the TV hutch, teh accent chair, the desk, the nice cut crystal glasses, the provided wine glasses-everything was just high quality! Additionally all of their products in the bathroom smelt delicious! I noticed on Instagram that some rooms have a free standing bath tub, sadly ours didn't but it still had an extremely nice tub. They also have some delicious coffee available in the lobby. And the entire lobby area is also so nice. They do offer valet parking which is a bit expensive but can be worth it when it comes to trying to find parking in Milwaukee.
