Gorgeous property on the beach in El Pescadero. Staff is attentive and friendly; the guest is always the commitment and priority. Grounds are immaculate; a Sonoran paradise with cactus and vegetable gardens throughout. Stunning sunsets and beach at the reach and unforgettable. Saw humpbacked whales breaching from our room! The three restaurants always surpass with fresh entrees and all farm-to- table throughout with gentle service; loved the weekend breakfast buffet. Property is close to Todos Santos with its authentic arts scene as well as Cerritos Beach for a local and relaxed surf venue. Fabulous stay at Kimpton Mas Olas.

There are many 5s about this hotel. The beach is a 5 star. The numerous pool areas are a 5. The restaurants, particularly Botanica, are a 5. The accommodations and exterior/interior design are a 5. And of course, the extensive and varied gardens are a 5. What holds us back from an all around 5? Compared to other truly 5 star hotels we’ve stayed at around the world, the service had a number of misses. At the pool area near the beach, for example, towels were never picked up; the lounge chairs had terry covers on them which was great, but they were not changed and refreshed between guests. The stack of towels were quickly depleted and not proactively refilled. The pool bar had a long wait for drinks, etc. our wait for breakfast one morning was almost an hour. On all these front, it just boiled down to staffing — 1 or 2 more individuals helping out would have made a huge difference. All that said, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to others. The pools themselves are awesome — very well heated and the giant hot tub right on the sand was fantastic. The views are truly unbeatable and it’s a beach you can literally walk on for miles. Great gym, excellent spa.

I traveled alone to Mas Olas in order to do some undistracted work on a book; I wanted beauty, solitude, the sound of surf to write by for many hours a day--and that's exactly what I got. I wasn't looking for things to do, and indeed found no brochures on activities in my room, no paddle boards on the beach (the currents are dangerous--no ocean swimming), no TV in the room. Instead: strong wifi, and reading lights tucked into the walls.||||Mas Olas has three pools here (one heated) each with double-wide chaise longues, some in shade and some in sun. It has a surprisingly good fitness center for a resort. The beach over Christmas had whales breaching--magnificent!--and very few people out walking. The resort has placed four canopied, double-wide chaise longues where the path to the beach hits the sand, and they were usually empty; I sometimes sat there with my laptop, working and whale-watching. ||||I loved room 415 (with one possible drawback for some people, see below). It has an entire glass wall facing both the ocean and the mind-boggling sunsets that streak the sky. On the terrace (nearly as deep as the room) was yet another of those double-wide chaise longues and a large round table. Though music played outdoors at certain bar and pool areas, it can't be heard from 415, even on the terrace. I spent a lot of hours working at that table, and ate dinner there once; it was lovely.||||It's worth noting that the sloshing sound of water (like a washing machine) was audible 24 hours a day in Room 415 from somewhere behind the walls, probably the hot water recirculator, as hot water comes instantly to the excellent shower. If you need perfect silence to fall asleep, bring silicone earplugs or ask what room might not have this. I meditated on flowing water and got used to it. ||||Service was both courteous and warm. The managers learned my name, and gave me coffee to take home after I praised the roast (best in-room coffee anywhere). Anyone driving an empty golf cart will stop and ask if you want a ride, even if they're going the wrong way. Gardeners are out early raking up orange and pink blossoms that fall overnight; heaven forbid a guest should have to think of fading beauty on the way to breakfast.||||Food: I saw noplace to eat other than Mas Olas. The only road is a long, bumpy dirt road that leads to a highway; it's not walkable. Maybe you can beach-walk to other restaurants? I didn't try, so was limited to the *very* expensive Kimpton food--though most or all of their produce is grown on-site and tastes amazing. The excellent breakfast was free while I was there, though that wasn't part of my rate. ||||I only saw couples here. (What would children do besides swim in the pools?) Yet as a solo traveler I felt totally welcome. I also seemed to be the only person over 55. It was still perfect.

We just got back from Kimpton Mas Olas and this place is truly special. The staff, the grounds, and the spa are all next-level. Everyone is incredibly kind and attentive, the service is seamless, and the whole experience feels luxurious yet relaxed. The food deserves its own paragraph — everything is so fresh and flavorful, and I loved that they grow ingredients right on site at their farm. The margaritas were the best I’ve ever had. I also really appreciate how committed the resort is to sustainability — even the water is desalinized from the ocean and purified using reverse osmosis, so you can brush your teeth and enjoy drinks worry-free. The spa is incredible. I had a deep tissue massage that was probably one of the best of my life, followed by the Himalayan salt sauna and steam room. Total bliss. I also loved the thoughtful 5-star touches — like waking up to a healthy breakfast bag hanging on your door, on-demand golf cart rides around the property, and the front desk team who always follow up to make sure you have everything you need. Kimpton Mas Olas is gorgeous, intentional, and full of heart — a perfect balance of luxury, wellness, and sustainability. Can’t wait to come back!

Our favorite Kimpton until now was the Seafire in Grand Caymen. The Mas Olas is special, 30 acres of peace and beautiful gardens. Who knew a desert could make such a beautiful property, the with help of dozens of gardeners and a irrigation system of course. The rooms are amazing and we were upgraded from a King ocean with roof top swing to a King suite with pungle pool on day twp. What a room and what a treat. Finally Diamond status has paid off on a vacation , the King with roof top swing isnt worth the extra IMO. It was really quiet this week, we had the Centro pool bar all to our selves Monday to Wenesday untill a wedding party showed up. The Mas Olas is far away from anything, including about 1.5 km from the nearest town, el Pescatoro. A car is advisable since a trip to nearby Totos Santos is a must. If you are looking for quite luxury in Baja than this Kimpton is for you. The food here, while expensive, is really good. But, we still love you Seafire as your breakfast bufffets remain untouchable. About one hour from the airport.

Part of me wants to gatekeep Mas Olas as it is the most serene and luxurious escape. Returning for our anniversary only made me want to guard it more fiercely.||||The resort's design is remarkable. The entire property flows seamlessly with nature, immediately fostering a sense of peace. There are no TVs or telephones in the beautifully appointed rooms, and we didn't miss them for a second. Nothing beats falling asleep and waking up to the sound of ocean waves.||||What truly sets Mas Olas apart is the staff. Their warmth and attentiveness are evident across every team, from housekeeping to groundskeeping to management. This culture begins at the top, as General Manager Armando personally checked in with us, as did Christian from management, who generously upgraded our room, confirmed all our reservations before arrival, and followed up during our stay. Scarlett in Guest Services is so friendly, helpful and equally proactive, resolving a potentially stressful airport transport issue before our departure.||||The dining experience is exceptional. Chef Sandro crafts his menus using fresh produce grown right in the resort's gardens, and he's incredibly personable, often chatting with diners. Our servers—Dino, Josue, Manuel, and Jonathan (who remembered us from our December 2024 visit!)—provided outstanding service. Tip: Have dinner at Kahal during sunset for the most stunning beach views.||||The spa is beautiful and serene. Morning yoga was the perfect start to each day, and the therapists are phenomenal, we indulged in massages three times during our six-day stay. Special thanks to Fernanda at the front desk and masseuses Petra, Brenda, and Patricia.||||If you're looking for unparalleled service in a stunning natural environment, look no further. We can't wait to return!

Just returned from a Birthday trip to El Pescadero in the Baja at the most incredible property Mas Olas. We arrive to SJD after a quick 2 1/2 hour flight from Denver, then drive one hour up the Pacific Coast and finally a 10 minute drive down a long bumpy sand road filled with scents of basil. ||||Mas Olas is a 30 acre property set on an empty wave-filled coastline. Extensive cacti, vegetable, palm, citrus and flower gardens are meticulously designed and maintained. There is even a turtle hatchery on the beach. You can not swim in the ocean but rather you can take long walks, watch the huge clear waves break, whales breach and rays jump. Nature rules here. There are 4 beautiful pools - each with its own energy - to sun and swim. We viewed sunrises over the magnificent Sierra de la Laguna mountains and sunsets over the Pacific. ||||The rooms are modern and unpretentious - furnished with locally sourced material.||We so enjoyed a Penthouse with its own pool and endless views.||Food is outstanding at all three restaurants, Centro, Botanica and upscale oceanfront Kahal which gifts gorgeous sunsets.||||All staff is exceptional giving friendly and professional service. The passionate GM Armando Gonzales, Chef Supreme Sandro Falbo and the entire staff from gardeners, food and beverage workers, housekeeping, reservation team and maintenance technicians work as a team to ensure guest satisfaction.||||The Baja is such a special place on Earth blending diverse landscapes from desert to mountains to unspoiled beaches with abundant marine life. Mas Olas is a most heavenly place to experience this land.

We had an incredible stay! The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff was so amazing. It felt like a serene, restorative oasis. The spa is stunning and the restaurants have such fresh food. Francisco made our trip extra special with his hospitality, and every server at the restaurants were incredible as well including Karina and Dino. We cannot wait to return again!
