Kimpton Tres Rios

Just came back from another amazing vacation at Hacienda Tres Rios. The renovated rooms are awesome. AC worked perfectly, bed was comfortable, and the shower was heavenly. All of the food we ate throughout our stay was delicious. Jose and Edgar at the pool bar kept our drinks full and were always great at recommending different drinks to try. The sports bar had great entertainment most nights and we loved the Aladdin show. Yes there is construction but it didn’t interfere with our vacation one bit. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Facility (2+ stars as of this week):|Lots of issues while they are under construction and transitioning to Kimpton. I would recommend coming later in 2025 after construction is complete and they have gained some experience under the new Kimpton management structure. Air conditioning did not work for a few nights. One of the restaurants was closed for construction so our food choices were somewhat limited. ||The only reason I’m not giving them grace while under construction is they are charging the new all-inclusive rates as if the construction was already completed. Frankly, this not right given the construction related issues we experienced. ||Reservations (0 stars):|The staff grossly overstated the daily all-inclusive fee initially, which sent me over the edge. They quoted an about 3x higher than what I normally pay. I found out much later that what they quoted was completely inaccurate for my membership level, which was a relief. However, they still should not charge these new rates until after Kimpton takes over. I believe that is not until Match 2025.||On site Staff (4+ stars):|The best compliment I can give is about the staff. Special shout out to Victor, Humberto, Javin and Abel who continue to provide great customer service in their roles!

Had an amazing vacation at Tres Ríos. Jona at the pool, Diego at the Sports Bar, Alexis the party leader and Veronica in concierge were incredibly helpful and kind. They made the week feel special. Wonderful people.|The resort is being remodeled and the suites is beautiful. Loved the cenotes on property and the grounds are stunning.

Such a fabulous experience at Tres Ríos! The property is stunning and unique. It is secluded and private, with easy access to the jungle, rivers and the beach. The staff is beyond excellent- EVERYONE was warm, friendly and so helpful. The food was amazing at every restaurant and buffet on the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Tres Ríos and hope to be back soon!

Just got here tonight and they didn't have any of the rooms that we actually paid for. Had 4 small children and didn't have a room until after 8pm. The actual staff is very friendly but they charged us twice the previous amount for a resort not even half finished. We were all exhausted and half doesn't have AC and the other half doesn't have hot water. Then after we got there they told us there was an additional $10 fee per person per night!!! What are we paying for???? If you coming here anytime soon, run for your freaking life!!!!!!! RUUUUNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!! Still waiting for my vacation to start!

You want customer feedback? I got you. Sunset Tres Rios has the potential to be an amazing resort, but you’re falling incredibly short right now. Half of the resort isn’t even open & is still under construction. Like, come on. The Furniture is uncomfortable. The lights didn’t work. The refrigerators were hot & full of warm beverages. The shower heads didn’t function, so only the handheld spout worked. You guys messed up opening this early, and your business is going to suffer for it. Now, I have no animosity toward the staff, especially Gina. They’re working incredibly hard to provide the best service possible, BUT… and Sunset Management, this is for you: Your staff is working *incredibly hard* to compensate for your bad business decisions. You wanted that extra Thanksgiving money, but you weren’t ready to deliver on your promises. You opened too early, and now the resort is burning and your staff is working nonstop to put out the fires YOU started. You should not be open right now. You should’ve taken the time to get everything ready before opening up. This is not fair to your staff, and this is not fair to your guests. Do better.
