I have been here quite a few times already and they NEVER disappoint. The taiyaki's are 3/$5. Flavors are: Red Bean, Custard and Veggie. I usually get 2 of each. The pancakes are delicious as well, but also a little bit greasier. Cute little stand by the parking lot, with absolutely the nicest people that make them. There's a lot of turnaround, so it's always so fresh.

Google
It is a food truck. I ordered two fish waffles (red bean & custard) and they are freshly made. The owner told me that the heads up one is custard, which is a good idea to differentiate. The flavour is good and the price is extremely affordable. I recommend the custard flavour.

Google
When I tried the sweet red bean waffle here before, it had very little red bean filling. I decided to give it another chance, hoping it would be better this time, But it had almost no red bean filling, and the dough was so insufficient that when I took a bite, the inside was completely hollow. I don’t think I’ll be coming back again.

It's like I am back in Korea! Delicious waffles. If I lived close I would go everyday. The texture of the waffle part is chewy and soft. The filling inside is not too sweet and tastes perfect!

Google
Find this little cart just to the left of Han Nam Supermarket under the concrete stairs. Amazing taiyaki that are so fresh hot and delicious! I tried the custard and the veggie and they were both awesome. 4 taiyaki for $5 - such a deal! Service was super nice and let me know it was a 7 min wait for them to be made. Warmed the leftovers in the oven and they were just as good that evening.

Google
Another first…and happy we came to this outdoor food stand to try the delicious sweet pancakes or hotteok and the fish-shaped custard waffles or bungeoppang. There is also a savoury pancake and two other waffle flavours (red bean and vegetable), but I look forward to those for another time. We waited around 15 minutes, but they came to us piping hot and yummy! These Korean dessert treats truly reminded me of Seoul.

Google
Here is Korean stall specialized in Korean waffles and pancakes. The prices are decent and cheap. 6 pancakes for $10 and 5 waffles (fish looking) for $5. There are two flavours for the pancakes: red bean and vegetables. For waffles, there are three flavours: red bean, custard, and vegetables. I recommend both waffles and pancakes; however, I recommend not buying the custard cream. The cream is not as good as I thought it would be good but it is not. I must warn you that weekends at certain times they are busy. It could be 15-20 minute wait for the food. Bring cash as it is only cash no credit cards or debit cards.

Yelp
On the day I visited, there was a huge lineup of people huddled underneath an overhang waiting for Kim's Korean Waffles and Pancakes. Despite the rain, more and more people joined the line so naturally I did as well out of curiosity. And I am glad I did. Kim's is a street cart vendor specializing in Korean pancakes and waffles as the name implies. While their menu is quite small, their offerings are fantastic value. I got myself two waffles - one red bean and one custard - and was extremely impressed by the flavour. Served fresh, the waffles were just the right texture and the filling was flavourful. I recommend eating these right there instead of bringing it home. Turnaround time was on the slower side but that could be attributed to the busyness that day so I won't hold it against them. My order took about 10-15 minutes, but it was definitely worth the wait. If you're looking for something affordable, delicious, and filling for dessert, you can't really go wrong with Kim's.

Yelp
So happy they opened up again after being closed for the summer so of course I had to visit! It's a small cart that makes fresh and hot fish-shaped waffles (bungeo-ppang) & pancakes (hotteok) - what's not to love?! I did notice the price was slightly increased from the last time I was here earlier this year in April. The waffles are $1.75 each or 3 for $5 (it used to be 4 for $5 sadly but I understand inflation ). The pancakes are $2.75 each or 4 for $10 now! I ordered a bunch of red bean flavoured waffles and they were amazing. Fresh, hot, crispy on the outside, soft and slightly sweet on the inside. So good. The frozen ones can't even come close to these fresh ones. I'll be back!!

Yelp
So worth the wait! Red bean waffles is my fave and so good when it's nice and warm. Price is so reasonable too! The street cart is a nice ambience and almost feels like Korea...

Yelp
This small food cart sits just outside Hannam supermarket under some stairs. The wait is a little long but worth it for the taste and price of these street sweets! The servers make it fresh. I got custard and red bean taiyakis and one sweet hotteok to try for the first time. The taiyakis were so good for the price! Packed with delicious filling and the crust is nice for my soft mouth. Bring it home and toast for an extra little crunch if you need! I actually ended up preferring the custard filling which was surprising! The hotteok was also really good! Since it was my first time trying, I didn't know what to expect. It was good amount of sweetness! However, I'd much prefer to get more taiyaki next time!

Yelp
If I see that they're open, I will 100% go get myself the waffles and pancakes. I will always go for the bavarian cream waffles and the sweet cinnamon pancake. Bavarian cream waffles are soft, warm, and gooey. Packed with cream. Cinnamon pancake is chewy sweet and delicious I'll need to try their other items one day. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and items are freshly made per order. There's always a line but I don't mind because I just wander around the mall while I wait since they give out buzzers anyway. Service is friendly and they take orders quickly. I'm usually waiting around 20mins to get my order but it's well worth it. No where to sit but I usually just walk around or hop in my car. Unfortunately no pictures because I devoured it too quickly .

Yelp
Passed by them few times, always have a line, but they were out of the fish, finally got to try it today, we ordered all 3 flavours of the fish. Taste 1/1* Love it!! Fresh red bean, wife absolutely loved the custard, and mother in law loved the veggies...I liked all 3 As the guy was marking down our order, I saw that we were the only customer who ordered veggie flavour, so I said 'your veggies aren't very popular hey', and the guy awkwardly laughed after saying 'yes'... But hey it was gooood, they are missing out!! Value 1/1* 4 smallish medium sized tasteful fish for $5, worth it!! Service 1/1* Friendly with good expectation, was told 25min and that's how long it took. Cleanliness 1/1* It's a good truck Overall/Revisit 1/1* 100% sure the wife will be asking to drop by again soon Paying for ambience? NO Above and beyond? 0/+1*

Yelp
So glad I got to try their Korean pancakes and waffles before they end the season! Their cart doesn't open during the summer months. I have seen these in Korean dramas so I was pretty excited to see what they taste like! I tried their savory vegetables pancakes, and sweet cinnamon pancakes $10 for 5 pancakes They were made to order, so extremely hot and pretty fresh, with a 10 min wait I enjoyed both the veggies and the sweet cinnamon pancakes! The waffles were crispy on the outside and creamy custard filling (choice of red bean, custard or veggies) Can't wait to try them again in September!!
google avatar

Yelp
Love love love freshly made taiyaki... especially the veggies ones .. the red bean ones are filled with a lovely coarse textured red bean filling that is not too sweet. I like to toast these little guys in a toaster before eating to get that crispiness back that seems to fly away otw home.

Yelp
Kim's Korean waffles and pancakes located in coquitlam by hannam market. This shopping Center square has this Korean waffle stand by the staircase kinda hidden but it's always busy! They make the best street food fish waffles (taiyaki) and Korean pancakes that are sweet and savoury! I love getting this as a snack especially when I am hungry from shopping at the Korean supermarkets. Be prepared to wait for this delicious treat because there's usually always a line and they make things fresh! It's always steaming hot and so good For the waffles and pancake they both have the savoury option of vegetables with some noodles and it's peppery (so good) and they have sweet options for the waffle they have red bean and custard and for the pancake it's brown sugar cinnamon (it's like eating a mini sugary donut!)

Yelp
Kim's Korean Waffles and Pancakes specializes in my favourite Korean snack, hotteok, along with bungeoppang. They're a small street cart outside/right beside Onggi Korean Cuisine. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 6:45pm). There was a small line but we only had to wait about 15 minutes for our order to be made. Note: if you pay with card (debit or credit), they charge GST on top. - 3x Hotteok ($2.00 each) - we tried two sweet (brown sugar and cinnamon) and one vegetable pancake. The sweet had a nice chewy texture and wasn't too sweet. Reminded me of the hotteok I had from the street stalls in South Korea. The vegetable one was also excellent. I'd get both again. - Bungeoppang ($5.00 for 5) - we asked for two custard, two red bean and one vegetable. They missed giving us the vegetable one so we were only able to try the custard and red bean. Red bean was the winner of the two. Custard was bland and left me wanting more. Will be back to Kim's for more Korean snacks next time I'm in the hood.

Yelp
I went and there was no lineup on a Wednesday afternoon! Each waffle is $1.50 now which is still a steal and the batter was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and not heavy on the inside. 2 of the savoury veg (quite peppery) was a light lunch on the go for me. I'll definitely be back for the dessert ones!

Yelp
I missed Korean street food and it was on the way to our geocery shopping at @hannamsupermarket. I stopped by @kimskorean.wnp and got the Round-shaped Korean Sweet Rice Pancake and the Fish-Shaped Korean Waffles (red beans, custard and vegetables). I really enjoyed watching them to make the food in front of me. They are very cheap. Pancake $2 each or $10 for 6 Waffle $1.25 each or $5 for 5 All the pancakes and waffles were made fresh to order. The red beans / custard fillings are very smooth. The vegetables filling has potatoes, peppers, carrots, onions. The Korean pancake has brown sugar, cinnamon and peanuts. It tasted good but it would be better if it had more filling. It filled up about 1/3.

Yelp
COVID #15 Waiting for this to get plagiarized. It's the worst kept secret in Vancouver Yelp. OK, no KFC this time. Well, a different kind of *KFC. *Korean Fried Carbohydrates. Waffles. Stuffed waffles Shaped like fish It's a small Mr Tube Steak cart that makes *KFC. Sweet and savoury. Veggie is savory Red bean and custard is semi-sweet. I liked the ones I tried. They're quite good.

Yelp
I've been waiting to visit this truck after visiting a couple years back. We ordered the sweet sugar cinnamon hotteok and 5 of the taiyakis with red bean. The red bean taiyakis weren't very crunchy but the red bean inside was perfectly sweetened. The hotteok was really delicious. It was very chewy and cinnamony. The melted sugar inside was like hot lava inside but I really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend the hotteoks! If you are looking to visit, you better visit before they close for the summer and get a hotteok. The staff are also really friendly and the pricing is cheap!

Yelp
Hidden little gem for Korean waffles right underneath the stairwell by the supermarket. We got five Korean waffles, and at least one of each flavour and they are best eaten fresh! So much deliciousness in one bite and my favourite was definitely the custard!
google avatar

Munchica E.

Yelp
Freshly made taiyaki that are 4 for $5.00! Highly recommend the one filled with Bavarian custard. The red bean one is good too but has both sweet and salty flavour which at first is kinda confusing but it still works. They taste great fresh but even better if you reheat them at home at 350 degrees until crisp to your liking. The veggie taiyaki tasted like a spring roll in taiyaki batter which was good too. Be prepared for long waits of 30 minutes though as they are quite popular. Plus, act fast as they close April 29 for the season.

Yelp
Highly recommend trying the Waffles and Korean pancakes from this place! We tried the Sweet Pancake and the Custard Fish Waffles, both delicious!

Yelp
GEM ALERT. This has been around for years yet I'm not sure why it has taken me this long to find it and come here. They specialize is super delicious authentic Korean goodies. And let's just say I recommend going early because they have long line ups! Right in the Burquitlam area in North road next to hannam market is this gem! * Korean waffles (5 for $5) ~ we got red bean and custard flavour. Red bean was so bomb! This is perfect because the red bean is perfectly cooked and oh so delicious. Perfect sweetness to! The waffle was crunchy and semi sweet too! * Custard waffle was so bomb! Custard was sweet and creamy! I loved every bite of this. Super thick custard too! So all you custard lovers you gotta try! * Korean pancake (6 for $10) ~ GET ON THIS! The sweet one was oh so good! Brown sugar, cinnamon and peanuts combined in this super chewy delicious pancake. We got 6 and let's just say I ate a lot of these! They were so good. I loved the chewy pancake and I loved how the brown sugar and cinnamon tasted together especially when the brown sugar turned gooey. * 10/10 ~ I'm totally getting this whenever I'm in the area! Highly recommend the Korean pancake! * 10/10 ~ such a steal especially the pancake! 6 of them for $10 and the portion is good! * 10/10 ~ social distanced line up, mask, it's all outside so it's good. Total bill before tip: $15 (protip: pay in cash and no gst needed! Card will charge gst).

Yelp
The boongeobbang (fish waffles) are consistently good. Just like they make them in Korea. If they ever get soggy when you come home, pop them in the air fryer for a couple minutes and they'll be crispy once again. Hotteok unfortunately was inconsistent. Sometimes they were good (dough to filling ratio was on point) and sometimes they were a bit doughy. Either way, they're good enough for me to pay and walk around Hannam for 15-20 min while I wait for the goodies. When you pick them up, make sure you have one while you're standing in the cold. Something about eating hot and crispy waffles in the frisky weather reminds me of Korea. :)

Yelp
Korean Town Not So Little Secret Despite being hidden under the belly of KTC Korea Town, the sweet aroma of burnt sugar and the bright rainbow-like backdrop of Kim's Pancake will draw your nose right up to their pancake cart. Bungeoppang (fish shape waffles) + Hotteok: On a cold winter night I saw a stream of people lining up, some with partners waiting in cars, for several fish shape waffles and round pancakes. A quick glance at the menu and the attractive price stood out-I had to give it a try. You can get a flight for $10 (2 pancakes and 3 waffles) to make sure you get to taste every flavor: red bean, boson cream, vegetables, brown sugar&cinnamon. Sup rising the savory ones are my favorites. Red bean is nice. Boston cream and cinnamon were a bit too sweet for the health conscious ones. The dough is distinctively chewy due to glutinous rice. Overall, a cute street food experience not to be missed.

Yelp
**Pre-Covid19 review** After a very filling meal at nearby Midam, I noticed that there was a small congregation around what looked like a tiny cart and that piqued my interest. I discovered that it was a small Korean dessert cart! I love street food and in the spirit of trying out more of the restaurants in the area, my dining companion and I gave this little stand a go! To start off, the Sweet Rice Pancake with Brown Sugar, Cinnamon and Peanuts (2.00). The batter was chewy and soft like mochi while the filling, consisting of brown sugar, cinnamon, and peanuts, was quite syrupy. It kind of reminded me of a soft apple pie, minus the apples. We also tried the Korean Waffles (1.25 each or 5.00 for 5). The custard one was hot and creamy with a light sweetness and semi-salty batter. The red bean one was similar albeit not really sweet. The older woman that runs the stand is really friendly and this was such a nice discovery. It was such a cold night and this was an awesome way to warm up and have some dessert after a filling meal.

Yelp
I have going here for years! If you're a local, you know that Kim's Korean Waffle and Pancake booth is one of Coquitlam/Burnaby's best hidden (not so hidden) gems. They have their booth set up underneath the staircase beside the Hannam Supermarket in the North Road Plaza. They open every day expect Sunday's from 11am to 6pm but I recommend going early because they sell out! They serve some of Korean favourite street foods: Hotteok (Korean pancake) and Korean styled sweet waffles. Pancakes (hotteok): $2 or 6/$10. You can choose to have the traditional sweet filling or a savoury vegetable filling. Waffles: $1.25 or 5/$5. You can choose to have the sweet red bean filling, sweet custard filling or a savoury vegetable filling. I have tried and like everything on their menu but their hotteok with the traditional sweet filling is my absolute favourite!! It's gooey, soft, sweet and delicious! Eating these treats are nostalgic and brings me back to when I was a kid in Korea eating them with my grandmother. Bonus points for having a COVID 19 safety certificate on their booth!

Yelp
The pancakes bring back memories of my trip to South Korea many years ago! I like the cinnamon sugar filling and crispy exterior. I definitely recommend eating one that was freshly fried. I also tried a custard waffle and it was alright. There was not much filling. The prices were reasonable for both items.

Yelp
This place is a cute little stall that is located just right beside the Hannam market on North Road. We typically buy the red bean fish shaped waffles here but decided to try out something different this time. We got the Sweet Korean Pancake and we were happy we did. These pancakes were really good! It's filed with a peanut, cinnamon sugary paste and the pancake has a nice soft and chewy texture! They also have a savory mixed veggie option as well. Compared to the ones in Korea it doesn't have the crispy outer shell but is the closest one yet and does the job! Great place for a quick Korean sweet or snack.
google avatar

Khanh D.

Yelp
It's good snack for rainy day. Hot, fresh and lil sweet. The red bean paste is not as sweet as othe places. Love it so much. They also have veggies option but I have not tried yet.
google avatar

Jvee R.

Yelp
It's located beside Hannam market as the gps will take you in a different parking lot. The fish waffle with custard filling was just ok. I wish they redo the recipe. That's is why my rating is just 3star. I prefer the red bean stuffed fish better. The sweet pancake is good and chewy.

Fred P.

Yelp
This food stand offers Korean-style pancakes and taiyaki. There are two flavours for the pancakes: sweet, which has a brown sugar filling, or savoury, which has a vegetable filling. The taiyaki has three flavours: custard, red bean, and vegetable. We got the custard taiyaki and both flavours of the pancakes, all of which were scrumptious. We wanted to get more but we came closer to closing and their pancake batter ran out. Highly recommend going during the day and snagging these up!
google avatar

Melissa K.

Yelp
Only open during certain seasons but it's oh my God so good! I must have this and do my shopping nearby after. The grocery store should totally pay them for being there cos they are only reason I buy groceries! I'm in love with their veg pancakes and red bean. The custard... Not so much.

Ivy L.

Yelp
I love these bungeoppangs, especially when it's chilly out. Often they've got a line-up and I have to go back after 20 mins or so to pick up my order but I'll gladly do it! They freeze pretty well too if you want to keep an emergency stash lol

Yelp
I try to stop by whenever I can, been coming ever since I was in highschool in 2000. Classic Korean Street snacks. Everything taste delicious but I would recommend the custard waffle and the vegetable pancakes. Fantastic really hit the spot. One of the best vegetable pancakes.

Karen G.

Yelp
The size of the taiyaki is huge and the fillings are generous. We're a patron now of this little hole on wall.
