7 Adventurous Things to Do in Anchorage, Alaska | Condé Nast Traveler

"Recommended to me as a reliable place to see wildlife, Kincaid Park was a common local suggestion and a natural extension of the coastal trail ride for a good chance at moose and other animals." - Jason Nark

This is a very beautiful park. We went to play disc golf for our first time, everyone was very friendly and was out just enjoying the day too. People had their dogs off leash and on leash we did not have any problems with either, very well behaved. They did have Warning posted all around where a Moose just had her baby to be aware and stay away from the area. We did not run into her but others did see her and advised others not to go that way.

Beautiful area with lots of trails for hikers and cyclists, some fully tarmacked. Some trails lead to the beach area with great views (see picture). Many of the trails pass through dense areas of trees and the other vegetation. Please stay aware in case of bears, and particularly moose, as we saw two in under 3 miles of hiking, only perhaps 30 metres off the trail (spot the young bull in my photo).

I came here to see moose and did not fail! We walked a trail 10/15 minutes and saw a male moose enjoying lunch! Free parking and entry was a huge plus. We parked near clean restrooms. Would highly recommend!

This is absolutely a nice park to do multiple activities. The park is huge with a lot of trails there. The park has an atea where families can gather. We were able to celebrate our 14 year old birthday 🎂 there. It was such a nice summer day.

It is a beautiful park with a lot of trails. You can spend time on the open soccer field, hike, bike, and picnic. Beautiful views, and if you are lucky you may see some wildlife!

We enjoyed the hike here with a great view. It took us about 30 mins one way to the beach. Many people bike there. It's a great place to spend a few hours in an afternoon.

I had heard this was the best place to go to see a moose so it was our first stop once we were in Anchorage. And we were lucky enough to see a bull moose! We also visited again on our last day in Anchorage and saw a black bear.
