A great Italian restaurant, with an amazing set menu. Great value for money. Carrot Triangoli, Smoked Trout Dip, Stracciatella and the Semifreddo dessert were the highlights, though everything was amazing. The cabbage salad was surprisingly very good too! I loved it. I didnt get the name of our waitress (she had blonde hair) but her service was phenomenal. Thanks again for the amazing dinner!

Absolutely loved our experience at KINDRED Restaurant! The atmosphere is warm and intimate, the staff are incredibly attentive, and every dish was bursting with flavor. You can tell they put real heart into the food—especially the handmade pasta, which was divine. The wine selection was excellent and perfectly matched our meal. Highly recommend for a cozy date night or a special celebration. A true gem that we’ll definitely be returning to!

Such a great restaurant; great food and service! My partner and I had the chefs tasting menu and there wasn’t one dish we didn’t like. We walked away so full too! Menu highlight for us was the carrot triangoli.

Love the cozy ATM of the restaurant. We didn't make any reservation but because we were early, we have a table by the staircase. The staffs were really attentive and friendly. Food were nice and refreshing, a fresh take from the usual Italian menu we get from other Italian restaurants.

I’ve found another amazing restaurant! It’s about an 18-minute walk from Central Station, and I’m regretting not discovering it sooner. It’s a hidden gem. First of all, the homemade pasta and the freshly baked sourdough bread were absolutely fantastic. For appetizers, we had: * Jerusalem Artichokes, Mushroom, Parmesan Custard, Sherry Caramel, Puffed Buckwheat * Chicken Liver Parfait, Toasted Sourdough, Pickles, Rhubarb Chutney The liver parfait was the smoothest I’ve ever had, and the combination with the rhubarb chutney was incredible – an unexpected and delightful surprise in flavor. We then had two types of pasta and lamb. The homemade pasta with their original, unique sauces was amazing. The staff were excellent, and the vibe of the restaurant was fantastic—sophisticated, artistic, and very pleasing. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Very lovely cozy restaurant, recommended by my friend. Sourdough bread was so fresh we had all the banquet and the waiter suggested some wines to go along with each dish and was perfect. Already been there twice and would definitely come back again.

I really enjoyed my time at Kindred. We took advantage of the tasting menu and added a few more things on top. For $70 it had a good variety of dishes. All the dishes were great. The beef shin ragu was super tender and I really liked the carrot triangoli. I also loved the brussel sprouts and Jerusalem artichokes. We had a group of five so they catered to us so we managed to try both pastas it was good.

Delicious pasta. Flavours were great and the pasta itself cooked perfectly. Personal highlight was the carrot triangoli with the burnt butter sauce.

Yelp
A great meal, hip environment, and quick service! Main courses were delicious. Not pictured was the Carrot Triangoli, sourdough bread, and pistachio and vanilla house made gelatos. Would return again!

Yelp
I had been scouring the internet for a good restaurant for the boy's birthday. Nothing too fancy, smaller/more intimate setting, decent pricing and overall just solid food. I had a very hard time making a reservation. Their website on my mobile within the yelp app never finished loading. Neither when I switched to safari mobile browser. Neither when I switched to my laptop. When I finally landed in Sydney and switched to an Australian SIM card was I able to call the restaurant. When I brought up this issue, I'm not sure if they took me seriously and checked their website. By this time, the latest slots were 5:45 and 9PM. We arrived and decided to order a la carte rather than their set menu of $55. We ordered the bread (large piece that can easily be shared between two people), sardine app (nice and light), chicken liver mousse (needs more bread, maybe something else for a bit more texture), broccoli, pappardelle (best pasta we had, cooked perfectly), bucatini (disappointing compared to pappardelle because it didn't have the same depth of flavor), lemon and pistachio semifreddo (delicious!) and sheep's milk panna cotta (a bit sour if you've never had sheep's milk. The semifreddo was better). As you can tell, this was a lot of food for two people plus two glasses of wine. Our meal was $120 USD.

Yelp
Located on busy Cleveland St, Darlington is the kitsch restaurant, Kindred. Aptly named, the friendly staff and setting will make you feel like part of the family. Serving mainly Italian Cuisine with much of their menu produced from scratch, in house and all made with love. The extra effort translating to a memorable dining experience. Kindred is perfect for a date night or for sharing a meal with friends. If you visit in a larger group of 10 or more, the set menu options are a great option. We visited Kindred with foodie friends "Coffee Brunch Dinner" and "R&B(rum and bourbon) Diaries", this was perfect as it allowed us to try alot more of the amazing food on the the menu than usual. The drinks list contained an assortment of quality wine options, also featuring beer from local micro breweries spirits and non alcoholic beverages. We whet our appetite with an assortment of pickles, olives, yogurt and green sauce as well as fresh sourdough made in house served with cultured butter. Wonderful bread - I always say you can judge a restaurant on their bread, so this was going to be a good meal. The chicken liver parfait being a favourite, rich and creamy parfait combined perfectly with the peach chutney and charred sourdough, this dish was a revelation. The house specialty being the fresh made pastas. The parpadelle with beef rugu was a winner as was the ridiculously tasty sweet potato triangoli served with, goats cheese, hazlenuts and a burnt butter sauce. For something more substantial the polpette(meatball) and polenta had the mouth watering when it arrived at the table as did the roast pork fillet with kipfler potato's. A serve of the rocket, walnut, pear and gorgonzola salad, a perfect accompaniment. We channeled the second stomach for dessert and were glad we did. The coconut yogurt pana cotta and chocolate fondant were a great finish to a wonderful dining experience. Thanks to Kindred and their staff for the hospitality, great food and one of our favourite dining experiences to date.

Yelp
Located on Cleveland street Chippendale, Kindred restaurant is a must visit. The staff are fantastic and can guide you through the delicious menu made up of starters, pastas, mains, salads and dessert. The restaurant has a romantic feel but was also perfect for group dining. We had a group of six and were lucky enough to sample the majority of the Italian inspired menu! Order the olives, pickled vegetables and bread to nibble on whilst you peruse the wine menu. For starters we had the chicken liver parfait on sourdough, octopus with rocket purée, sweet potato triangoli and stracciatella with tomatoes, basil and balsamic. I'm not usually one to order chicken parfait but this one was light and delicious. For me the stand out was the sweet potato triangoli with burnt butter, goats cheese and hazelnuts - I could have eaten this dish as a main. Any choice you make here will be a great way to start your dining experience. For mains we sampled the pork fillet with kipfler potatoes, pappardelle beef ragu, meatballs and mushroom rotolo. Every dish was full of flavor and it is impossible to choose a favorite. The pastas pair well with the salads, especially the rocket, walnut, pear and gorgonzola salad. Make sure you save room for dessert - the coconut yogurt pana cotta and the chocolate fondant were both mouthwatering. Pair all your dishes with some fantastic white wines and you will have a feast to remember at Kindred

Yelp
A relatively new restaurant with amazing food, good service and lively ambiance. As it was a first time visit for a birthday our party elected for the eight plate chef's suggestions and it was well worthwhile, showcasing the wonderful selection of Italian food. We added sardines, our addiction and superb. Home made bread aplenty to soak up the sauces. Smoked trout, one of my favourites of the night, was delicate and delicious, as was the Vitello Tonnato. Carrot triangoli sensational. Try this place and you won't be sorry.

Yelp
What a great find in an unexpected location. They make almost everything in house from the pickles to pasta and the rest is sourced fresh locally. I had the pork fillet with kipfler potatoes, braised pickled cabbage, and cavolo nero. My partner had mushroom rotolo with char grilled cauliflower, onion puree and pine nuts. Both dishes were exceptionally executed. The pork was perfectly done and barely seasoned so the fresh natural flavour really came through. Prices were very reasonable, and felt like a steal for the quality of the meal. This place is an absolute gem.

Yelp
Nice ambiance. Good wine list. Very descent cocktails choices. We were party of five and shared everything we ordered. Service was nice but waiters seemed a little overwhelmed with tables. I personally liked octopus entree (taste but not the presentation) and lamb main course which was flawless! Very well balanced dish! Flan steak was very over cooked and not tasty at all. Pasta was ok but not to impress. Panna cotta was super good!

This place is SO GOOD. We got the Brie plate, sourdough, and lamb ragu, and everything was delicious.

Yelp
We have eaten at Kindred a number of times, as we are locals. I have never been disappointed in the food that we have ordered. The fact that the bread, butter, olives, etc are all made in house shows. Each bite is full of flavour. The menu changes based on the produce that is in season, there are a few items that stay the same but the change in menu is another reason why we enjoy going back.
