Divine intervention brought me here! A massive lightning bolt and a crazy downpour forced me to pull over in Tupelo, MS. This very tiny restaurant is quite deceiving , because it’s BIG in flavor and love! The beautiful team of Miss Patricia ,Bernice, and Dinah put so much pride and effort into everything they make here. It definitely is a must visit! I ordered the half bird which consisted of a thigh, breast, wing, and drumstick! My sides were the fried okra and baked beans! My beverage was a nice lemonade that paired perfectly with my meal! The fried chicken was crispy outside and very tender and moist inside! Make sure to compliment your meal with their homemade hot sauce!!!!The fried okra and baked beans were amazing! The last pic is merely for reference purposes as it’s proof that the meal was superb! Everything that I ordered was amazing! Please do yourself a favor and visit the very charming Patricia and her family at the King Chicken Fillin’ Station in Tupelo! You won’t be disappointed!

If you want to experience real southern hospitality and food...this place!! The ladies were a dream and the food was heaven sent!!! Everything is homemade and delicious!!! The Mitchwich sandwich had BBQ pulled chicken and is soooo messy and damn good!! The homemade Mac n cheese was seasoned creamy and cheesy!!! Lord have mercy I needed another stomach!

A nice hidden gem with food that hits the spot! I walked over here from the loves truck stop & ordered the fish plate with potatoe salad & baked beans that satisfied my hunger. Staff was friendly, they take cash, credit & Apple Pay. They can take your order inside or from an outside walk up window. Saving this spot in my maps fasho!

First time here. Husband ordered a burger. I guess they forgot about him cause we waited almost an hour before the cashier asked what he ordered. The burger was super salty and a big sloppy mess. Sweet tea was good and so was the service. The staff was very friendly.

Best bbq chicken sandwich (The jay bird) I’ve ever had. Super nice workers, clean bathroom, and down home atmosphere.

Stopped here today! Food was amazing! It took a while to get done but it was well worth the wait! There is a walk up window to order from outside or you can drive up in your car! Chicken was seasoned to perfection and the Mac and cheese and slaw taste like grandma’s…..on point! Traveling for work came across this tiny gem and I will definitely be back! Food taste like it was cooked with a lotta love! Family owned establishment from what I could tell and everyone was very nice!

While traveling West, with my husband, I saw this place this was & used to be an old little gas station. But I love Mom &!Pop shops, especially those trying to keep generational cooking not something of the past. If you ever need to get something AMAZING to eat in Tupelo Mississippi, STOP in, to try King's Chicken filling station. They have the most phenomenal food. Everything was fresh. Everything was hot. It was like a Sunday barbecue picnic with the family. Great food. Excellent people. Prices were amazing. Don't pass this place up. It is a go-to. Will be a go-to every time I'm in Mississippi. Stopped in for an egg biscuit and met the very sweet sisters, Ms. Patricia and Ms. Bernice. Had a wonderful conversation and can't wait to go back and try the fried chicken. The biscuit was covered in honey butter and the eggs were soft and fluffy. Yum!

The smoked chicken, potato salad, and fried okra was easily the best plate I've had in years. Bbq sauce was just right and the people working there were lovely. I can't wait to go back.

"Can't judge a book by its cover." When driving by not exactly the place that you think to stop. An old gas station that has some of the best fried chicken you will ever eat. Have had the fried Chicken platters as well as chicken biscuits for breakfast, NEVER disappointed. Service is always great as the staff is always very polite. The rustic atmosphere along with the Elvis mural on the side of the building let you know you're in the right place. Check the hours before you go, closed this past Saturday and Sunday. So glad we stopped for lunch on Friday!

11 out of 10 every time, best service in town with the goods to back it up, I'll eat here every day just to experience the solid reliability they pack into their meals. portions or above average cost is below average, AND THERE AINT A CHART ON EARTH TO COMPARE THE FLAVOR!! no replacement for the flavor on earth. go ahead and get yourself a honey butter chicken biscuit with gravy and thank me later

This was my second time here and they never disappoint! My favorite is fried or smoked chicken! Mac n cheese melts in your mouth and coleslaw is good too! I love this place

We finally were able to stop here on our way through the area. It's a drive we make about 3 times a year and we always want to stop. Well we finally made it today and we will ALWAYS stop here in the future. The fried chicken is definitely "King-worthy!" And the Jo-Jo Potato Wedges were delicious. The Cole slaw is a unique vinegar base and fresh, crunchy and sweet. The Peach Cobbler could not have been better! My 6'8" hubs is a bit food-aggressive (lol) and as someone who loves to eat, he loves to cook even more. He's quite the home Chef and said everything was "FANTASTIC!" These nice ladies even told me how pretty I am. Such a nice compliment for a hard working nurse. If you want a home cooked meal made by folks who make you feel at home, THIS is the place!!

Love Kings Chicken! I love the grilled chicken yardbird sandwich, chicken tenders, fried catfish, backed beans and potato salad.

YUM!!! So gooooood! We got the grilled chicken, potato wedges, and slaw. Everything was absolutely delicious. To add to the experience, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Everything you'd expect from the hospitality state. Go check them out!!

I have eaten here a few times for breakfast and it was really good so I decided to go for a lunch. Lawd have mercy. This place is amazing. Someone didnt just put their foot in the mac and cheese they put the whole leg in it. This is what Southern food should be. The unsweet tea was as dark as my Ex-Wife's soul but im a good way. Chicken was crunchy and juicy, slaw was solid, and the house made hot sauce would make baby Jesus shed a tear it was so good. If I had not been with my Wife I would have ran inside and kissed the cook on the mouth whether it was a Woman or a Man. Straight up homerun today. The wife had a Smoked chicken salad and it was amazing as well. The house made sweet pickles were a revelation. I may drive an hour and a half tomorrow for seconds.

The place has really gone downhill. I was charged way way way more than leading fast food places for less than 1/2 the amount. Everything tasted fine, but I couldn't get past the price I paid for 4 pcs of chicken.

It doesn't look like much by any means but if y'all haven't been, y'all are missing out! I 10/10 recommend!

The chicken was tasty - light flour seasoning and very moist and juicy. The pieces were undersized, however and the the sides were flavorless. They had several home made sauces to accompany, but I was not a fan of any of them. They also had a big rack of hot sauce options, but half the bottles were dried up and obviously just for show. Whoever voted this best chicken in the state are sadly mistaken. It's not even the best chicken in town. Connie's puts them to shame.

This place has great Chicken, the Best I have had in a long time, I just got chicken and peach cobbler both great. I am going to try everything they have, if they can do this well with fried chicken I got to try their Bar-B=Que.

Nice folks, quick service. The baked beans were the most delicious thing I've had in a long time. Chicken was a tad dry is the only reason I don't rate them with five stars.

Probably one of the best places to get chicken in Tupelo. The grilled tenders are definitely my favorite in town. I like the honey bbq dipping sauce, which you can get for free on the counter. It comes with king sauce which is a mayonnaise base honey mustard best I can tell. It's not my favorite but it's pretty good. You can also get 3 different wing sauces and dry seasonings definitely try them all. I have also had the chicken salad it is very good. The sides are also good, however you might find them to be a little different from traditional sides. You can also get chip, candy, and even fresh fruit to go with your meal. I like to get 4 tenders and a banana, which is the perfect amount of food.

Excellent food. The Mitchwich is a good ole Mississippi masterpiece! The place is as it's called, an old filling station, and not fancy - Who cares! Do yourself a favor and take a quick jump off I22 and grab a bite to eat!

I really wanted to like this restaurant. I really did. Unfortunately, the great press was met with a less than stellar experience and mediocre food. I visited on a very busy Saturday and they appeared to be short-handed (three staff then later a fourth person came to help). The sides were nothing like the reviews I read and the chicken was only ok at best. Maybe I will try them again, but it may be awhile. Sigh.....

First time here. Great tenders, awesome sides, friendly staff. 2 thumbs up. Dont let the gas pumps out front this is way better than any other gas station food I've ever had and believe me I know gas station food I'm a long time truck driver. The food here is what we used to get before the big chain truckstops took over. This place is right off I-22 in Tupelo MS. Great place definitely reccomend it.

Found this restaurant on Yelp driving west on I-22. Right off the interstate, it does not look like much from the outside, but it was an excellent place to stop for lunch. I had the Smoked Chicken Salad Bowl and my husband had half a smoked chicken - the chicken is tender and juicy and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it!

We were trying to find somewhere unique on our way back to St. Louis from Gulf Shores and saw this place listed on yelp. So glad we did!! The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful. My son got the chicken tenders and then tasted my mac n cheese then got his own (he's a mac n cheese connoisseur so huge praise for theirs that he finished it all). I got the Birddog which is cut up chicken tenders with bacon, tomatoes, lettuce and cheese on a hot dog bun. A little bbq sauce and it was fantastic! My fiancé got chicken Doritos nachos which he loved! We will definitely be back every time we travel through!!

Best chicken in Mississippi!! Friendly staff and a huge selection of beer. Definitely worth the stop and it's great that it's right by the interstate. Will be back!

One of the best hidden gems in Tupelo. My favorite is steak night! I love their biscuits in the morning as well! Bacon or sausage, you can't go wrong. I have not tried their brunch but I need to soon! Heard it's awesome! The chicken is so so juicy, tender, moist, and such a good price! Glad we have a chicken joint like this in this area!

Homemade sides, sauces and tasty chicken! Great deck out back! Love the Saturday brunch and the mitchwitch sandwich! Local color!

All we can say is WOW! What a great Mitchwhich sandwich. After a week long trip this is what stands out as our favorite dish.

Stopped by for the first time since the new owners took over, and it didn't disappoint. I got the Mitchwich. It was overloaded with smoked shredded chicken, and full of flavor. I'll have to stop by again, and check out the other menu items.

I've called 30 times to order my food , what is going on man??????? Please answer the phone I only have like 20 Minutes of lunch time .

Keeping that Belden vibe alive with excellent chicken, steaks like Pops makes em, a nice selection of craft bottles and cans, live music, and great service. Come get you some!

Everyone who works there is smarter than their customers. Usually, employees have an attitude. Food is okay.

King Chicken has great fried chicken, nice employees, and good prices. But the sides are absolutely incredible. The potato salad is delicious to the point of being transformative and the baked beans are hands-down the best I've ever had.
